Apartment
I started this and was like YES. But then it turned to ... no... *sniff*I'd like to promise smutt but it seems the pair of them have other ideas. *sigh* I know that when Paw walks into the apartment all he thinks is there's no smell and the quickest way to get a smell and basically claim the entire place is... well... you know. May or may not be the last update. Have to go to bed at an indecent hour if you expect to get up at one. Read, Review and enjoy. Two weeks and they were finally allowed to return to the apartment. Mik walked in, dropped his keys on the counter and sighed out, thankful that he was finally home. Paw slid in behind Mik and immediately bounded up the steps to the green room. A moment later the Sidhe returned and pecked Mik on the forehead, reaching around the man to lock the door. Green eyes met his for one startling moment of clarity and Mik felt his knees grow weak. “What?” Mik murmured.Paw tugged at Mik’s shirt, “strip.” a small smile came to Paw’s lips. “Uhm… no.” Mik very carefully removed the Sidhe’s hands from his shirt. Paw looked shocked, to say the least. The Sidhe took a step back from Mik and frowned, his eyes lowering as they darted to and fro, trying to recall what he could have done. Confusion was replaced by a cold mask when Paw met Mik’s eyes again. “Mik upset about Paw saying mother is mommy.”“No,” Mik closed the gap between them, presenting dominant thoughts and trying to make himself seem bigger. The Sidhe backed up until his back met the wall. A squeak came out of Paw’s mouth as Mik put a hand on either side of the creature’s head. Mik had to stand on tip toe to look into Paw’s eyes, but Sidhe didn’t place any importance on actual height and so Mik had the advantage even though he was shorter. A hairbreadth apart, Mik stopped moving and let out a huff of breath. Paw trembled against the wall, pressing tight against it. “I am Souse’s. I am not leaving his tribe.”“Paw is-”“Don’t.” Mik cut Paw off, slapping his hand against the wall and making the Sidhe squeak again, “I want tribe. Paw is not being tribe.”Paw’s head lowered. Mik caught the Sidhe’s chin and drew Paw’s face back upward, “look at me when I’m speaking to you.”Paw’s trembling grew worse, head to toe the Sidhe vibrated with barely restrained fear. The Sidhe met Mik’s eyes but it went against everything Sidhe for him to do so. “Why is Paw not being tribe.”All the Sidhe could do was whine. A high pitched sound that echoed off the walls and made Mik feel terrible about what he was doing. His hands curled into tight fists, nails digging into his palms in his frustration. The Sidhe twitched and tried to press tighter against the wall. “Paw being tribe.” was the quiet response. Even Paw’s voice trembled.“No. No. Mik didn’t notice until Souse pointed it out to Mik,” remind Paw who talking to him, Mik hadn’t considered how useful learning the Sidhe language would be to him, “Then it was obvious. Even …” he really didn’t want to say it because despite it all this entire scenario was highly arousing, “… mommy noticed. Paw is being distant.”“Paw here.”“Emotionally,” Mik smacked his hand against the wall, regretting it a moment later when pain spread through his knuckles, “don’t play games with me, Paw, I know you understand me.”The Sidhe looked away, toward the living room and then back at Mik, suddenly remembering what Mik had said before.“Paw wants to be tribe with Mik,” the tears in Paw’s eyes didn’t help Mik’s resolve, “really…”“Then why is Paw distant?”Whatever it was, it drew Paw back to himself. The Sidhe stiffened and stopped trembling, tears forgotten but still in his eyes, Paw glared at Mik defiantly. “What do you mean no? Paw says want to be with Mik but then doesn’t tell Mik-”The Sidhe brushed him off like he was a nothing more than a bug and walked away, putting the counter between them before turning back to Mik. Long, delicate fingers splayed out over the counter, caressed the smooth surface as Paw seemed to consider the delicate pebbling of the granite. A nail scratched at a lone pink dot on the surface, marring the perfect polish. Paw brought his hand to his nose to inspect the hand and nail and finding it in tact he placed the hand back on the counter and clicked each nail into the stone surface. Green eyes moved from the stone and up to meet Mik’s. The Sidhe bent his head just slightly to the side, as if trying to crack his neck. Other joints popped and Paw sighed, bending over the counter. Mik’s eyes were on the scratch in the perfect polish of the granite counter top. Not exactly something that a person’s nail could do. When he finally managed to drag his eyes away from the scratch, he shifted his gaze to the top of Paw’s head. The head stayed bent for a long moment before Paw stood and rubbed his face with both hands before running those fingers through the too long black hair. A sigh. Mik waited quietly, not certain exactly how to word the question he was burning to ask. Paw turned towards him finally, “Essuan’s… drink doesn’t work.”“You go out cold.”The Sidhe chewed his bottom lip and looked at the spot he had scratched on the counter, “Yes.”“That was the point, for you to sleep.”“Paw doesn’t sleep,” Paw murmured, wrapping his arms around himself in a protective gesture, “Can’t sleep. Clowns will eat me.”“Clowns?”Paw shuddered, “S…. Sidhe south. Paint her up, shove her out. Tumbles and stumbles gods, please help, she screams every night but no one but me can hear her and why can’t he hear her?”Mik eased around the counter as Paw babbled. His arms around Paw were what brought the Sidhe back to the present. Paw pressed his face into Mik’s shoulder. “She looks like Lillow and sounds like Essuan and walks like the one with one eye and all she wants is to die. So young.”Mik tightened his embrace around Paw, “tell me where. Paw. You have to tell me where. I can’t make it better if you don’t tell me.”“But Jay said-”“Fuck what Jay said. Tell me where.”Paw bent his head and whispered into Mik’s ear. Mik tightened his embrace just a bit more for one moment before letting Paw go and reaching for the phone. If he had to go down there himself, he would..
