Wolf Coven Shenanigans
Adrift
So if you're wondering why I haven't updated anything it's because I'm having really bad writer's block right now. I can't seem to get anything finished. I follow this writer's blog on tumblr and it had a few prompts. So in an attempt to clear up my block I'd tried a few prompts this the only one I managed to finish.
So here we have an AU where vampires have their own planet and Luca and sons end up crash landing on a strange planet that, and you probably would have guessed, is habited by wolf shifters. Of course they wouldn't be called that, the same way vampires wouldn't be called vampires but pretty much they would all have the same fundamentals.
My name is Lucassius De’leon. I come from the small planet in Nebula sector 3V6XR called Vangium; better known as the Shadow Planet. There we lived in a perpetual state of darkness. That is…until thirty years ago when we saw our first ray of natural light. We thought it was a miracle. We thought maybe, just maybe, we would finally feel the light from our childhood stories.“We’re going to crash,” Love yelled over the sound of their failing engines.
We had never been more wrong.
“Sera, take control!” Luca shouted unbuckling his safety harness and climbing out of the chair.
“What are you doing?!” Serabiel asked as he tried to control their crashing ship.
The light was anything but good. There was a reason my people lived in darkness. At first it did nothing, the light barely lasting more than a few minutes. However as the days turned to months and the months into years the light stayed longer and longer.
It burned the skin from our bones, leaving nothing but a pile of ashes. We were forced to move our homes underground in an attempt to remain safe. There we were able to build a shield to block out the harmful light.
It was not a permanent solution.
“I’m going to try and reengage our emergency engine,” Luca said pulling on the hazard suit.
“But—
The light started leaking through bit by bit. We sent a team of explorers out to discover the source of this light. When they returned; they were terrified at what they had found.
It was a star, a slowly dying star collapsing into its self.
The gravitational pull was slowly drawing our world towards it. In a matter of years we would be consumed.
“Do as I say, Serabiel,” Luca commanded before he disappeared between the sliding doors.
“Yes, Papa…”
We tried to pull ourselves free to no avail. We only managed to stall. We were finally forced to face the inevitable.
Our planet was going to die.
Luca forced his way through the smoking wreckage, praying to their Goddess that he was able to do nothing. He would not allow his children to die here. Not so far away from their home. He wrenched the door open just as an explosion rocked the ship, sending him flying back.
We needed to leave.
We chose to send out several teams in order to locate a new inhabitable planet; some of them returned some did not. My ship was one of them.
A beam fell, crushing Luca’s leg under the weight. He screamed.
We were traveling through what was supposed to be empty space. In truth we found ourselves in the middle of an asteroid field. Even with years my years of experience being able to navigate the field was nearly impossible. We were hit, knocked off course, our ship sent plummeting.
Luca struggled to lift the weight from his leg. He managed, just enough, to pull his leg free. He knew the bone was broken he could already feel the beginning of the healing process. He forced himself to his feet, leaning heavily against the wall as he entered the room.
With our engine so heavily damaged we forced to make an abrupt landing.
Luca hobbled over to the lever, avoiding the live wires. But he made it. He made it.
We found a planet.
The backup engine roared to life.
“Oh thank the Goddess,” Serabiel said as the control lit up. “Okay, Xavier, are you back online?” A robotic voice suddenly filled the ship.
“Affirmative,” The bodiless voice said, “I have a run a diagnostics on the ship. It will be in your best interest to immediately evacuate.”
“I’d love to, Xav, I really would except there’s nowhere to land.”
“Negative, there is an unknown planet exactly thirty-six kilometers from our current position.”
“It doesn’t show on the map,” Serabiel said.
A completely unknown planet.
“We don’t have a choice,” Love said, “Just go!”
“The breakers are down, I won’t be able to control our descend into atmosphere, if we even survive that, it could burn our ship on the way down.”
“Shields are back up,” Luca said as reentered the pit, falling into the seat next to his son.
“You’re hurt,” Love stated, staring down at his father’s bloodied leg.
“It’ll be fine, I’m going to manually take control of and try to guide us down,” Luce told them, “Strap up.”
My name is Lucassius De’leon.
“We’re entering the atmosphere!”
My sons and I were on a voyage to find a new world for our people.
“I’ve lost control!”
We've crashed landed on an unknown planet.
“Brace for impact!”
We have limited supplies and no knowledge of this world.
“DAD!”
If there’s anyone out…
Please.
Please help us.
So this was fun, new, I've never written in first person before because honestly I'm fond of it. I'm going to try working on Seducing Lou again.
