Survival

Hello everybody. I got an e-mail about how I tend to jam pack too much information too quickly into each chapter. It was a good point and I don't think re writing the story would help solve this. After all you can paint a painting a thousand times but it would be different every time. So I've decided to write this.

These chapters will detail some of the information on the species seen and their cultures that I might not have explained so well. That way if anyone ever gets lost or doesn't understand a reference you can come here to find out.

I'll try to fix my writing so it doesn't seem so cluttered but the updates might take a bit longer since the chapters would be larger so I can properly explain what I'm trying to describe.

Now lets start off with a certain species. You know em, you love em and you might even be related to a few.

Introducing: HUMANITY

Humanity: Establishment of first planet government

Humans are the Apex predators of a planet called Earth. An industrious species they seem to be hardwired towards learning and evolving at frightening speeds. With their naturally short lives being a great motivator. The term 'learn from your mistakes' was taken to heart and by the end of the 22nd century Humanity had enjoyed a long and happy peace.

At the beginnings of the 23nd century tensions between the two superpowers of the time, America and China had finally reached breaking point. War was declared and the two nations readied their armies.

Both nations had seen this conflict coming for a long time and had obsessively reinforced their coasts over the years leading to the war. With neither nations navy able to attack the enemy they instead turned to the lands in between, like Europe. The first land battle between America and China took place in the Ukraine. The Ukraine country, unable to match the military might of America and China could do nothing to stop them.

It was a blood bath and many towns and cities in Ukraine were destroyed in the process.

Horrified by what they had seen the other countries, from the small islands of Ireland, England and Taiwan to the massive Russia, Africa and even Canada, banded together in secret.

The next battle took place in Algeria. While the two armies fought, the other countries launched a massive assault on America and China. World War 3 had begun.

If America and China had joined together they may have won but they didn't. The war lasted for years until finally America and China were beaten. The two countries were demilitarized. To prevent something like this from ever happening again and worried about a possbile nuclear attack from the angry Americans and Chinese, the people of many countries demanded a single unified Earth government.

Any government that opposed this was thrown from power by its citizens, by force if necessary.

The United Nations was established as the first planetary government. They began to pass laws focused on equal rights some of those detailing that no one was natural better then anyone else. Any group that followed the path of groups like the Nazi's were quietly destroyed.

The U.N. started passing laws saying that Religions could not persecute anyone because of gender, race or sexuality. Religions like Catholicism or the Muslim religion of Islam refused to agree with this.

The U.N. began cutting off all trade between countries that supported this and made those religions illegial in loyal countries. When the Catholics and Muslims within the loyal countries complained the U.N. simply said "Its not fun being hated for a stupid reason is it"

With the religious countries dying due to lack of food and a crashing economy they tried to broadcast what was happening to the world to gain sympathy. Unfortunately the U.N. had cut all communications and travel to and from the religious countries. No one was coming to help. Eventually the religious leaders caved and began to change certain beliefs and ideas to appease the U.N.

Trade between those countries continued again and certain religions were no longer illegal. The U.N. claimed that all peaceful religions were legal and a register was created to record all known religions and their core beliefs.

when the Atheists discovered that the U.N. considered them a religion with a belief in science they tried to protest against this saying that they weren't a religion. The U.N. leaders didn't care and ignored them. It's said that when the Pope heard that Atheism is now considered a religion he burst out laughing.

In the year 2301 the U.N. was renamed the United Planets or U.P. After the war with the Locusts it was decided that to prepare for any future conflict the U.P. would became a stratocracy.

A stratocracy is a form of government headed by military chiefs; the term is derived from two Greek terms signifying army and power. It is not the same as a military dictatorship where the military's political power is not enforced or even supported by other laws. Rather, stratocracy is a form of military government in which the state and the military are traditionally the same thing and government positions are always occupied by military leaders. The military's political power is supported by law and the society. As such a stratocracy does not have to be autocratic by nature in order to preserve its right to rule.

Historically, the term was used by Greeks to describe the structure of the late Roman Republic and later the early Empire, where there was no distinction between military and civilian offices, and appointment to governing roles required military service and promotion.

Humanity: Journey to the stars

In the year 2256 Humanity enjoyed a technological revolution. Cheaper, cleaner and more efficient power sources were created. Medical technology was advancing almost by the week and humanity was taking the first steps towards nanotechnology. With ecological and political problems a thing of the past it was decided by the U.N. that space was to be humanities next great triumph.

The U.N. established the Earth Development towards Galactic Exploration or E.D.G.E for this task. It was slow going but the creation of the first all-purpose nanites in 2261 allowed a massive boost due to lower material costs, faster production and lessened chance of human error. Those scientists and builders laid off because of the nanites were immediately offered jobs working on genetic modification and building deployable homes.

On August 21st 2263 the first human deep space exploration ship was finally launched. The S.E.V (Space Exploration Vehicle) Daedalus completed a trip to Pluto and back.

When its test flight was completed the Daedalus was loaded with deployable buildings which were later positioned on the moon and connected, creating Luna City. Humanity began to expand and colonize planet after planet and by 2301 the U.N was renamed to U.P. (United Planets).

Nanite technology had advanced to the point where most diseases were a thing of the past. Except, to everyones annoyance, the common cold. That damn virus couldnt be killed. Humans were faster, stronger and had a lot more stamina. Much to the joy of every horny human in the universe. It was a golden age for humanity that would be ended brutally with a new age. It was called The Beginning of the End.

Humanity: Genetic Engineering

Humanity, bolstered by stories and movies depicting the wonders of Nanites and Genetic Engineering, began work to master those fields. While the E.D.G.E was working towards space exploration, private companies pushed themselves to create the first Nanites and successful Genetic engineering.

A test tube child was born in the year 2201 and was the first genetically altered Human. As this child grew it was recorded that he was stronger, faster and at the age of 30 they noticed his physical appearance was younger then it should have been. His penis was also pretty big too which was a huge plus.

When the war with the Locust broke out in 2368 genetic engineers had furiously began to work towards further improved Humans.

Luckily captured Locusts provided ample test subjects for illegal, deadly and faster experiments and any moral conflicts were quickly resolved. It was hard to feel bad for a species that created the Harvesting facilities.

By the end of the war Humans could punch through walls, run at the same speed as a fast bicycle, skin toughened to survive high falls and added 50 years to the Human lifespan. Genetic Engineers are now trying to modify the Human body to emit a mentally manipulable gravity field which would give Humans telekinesis, the ability to move objects with their minds. unfortunately that won't be for a long time.

Humanity: Nanites

Humanity, bolstered by stories and movies depicting the wonders of Nanites and Genetic Engineering, began work to master those fields. While the E.D.G.E was working towards space exploration, private companies pushed themselves to create the first Nanites and successful Genetic engineering.

The first all purpose Nanites were created in 2261 and was used primarily towards the construction of the Daedalus. With the Daedalus a complete success Nanite design became a very popular field with Doctors and Scientists the world over contributing to the field. By the year 2312 most major dieases were cured expect for the common cold which was to adaptable to kill.

With most medical problems cured the Nanite corporations started to design Nanites for a large and profitable market. The sex market. Nanite programming and abilities that were specifically designed to enhance sex.

The nanites were programmed to heighten pleasure by stimulating nerves around the vagina, penis and the neuron dopamine to make sex much more fun. When they kissed the nanites present in the Humans saliva would go inside the body and get to work. Humanities genetically improved stamina was further enhanced thanks to the Nanites.

When the first trial of the sexual Nanites were tested on a man and woman the result were amazing. The man and woman refused to leave the private room for three days. When they came out they both looked very happy. With the money pouring in from U.P. contracts and sales of the new sex Nanites the Nanite companies started creating the translation nanites. Work on the translation Nanites was stalled when the war with the Locusts began. The U.P. turned to the Nanite corporations to create something built for war. They created the Slicers.

When a solider lost an arm during the Locust war the Nanite corps. used this to test the new and experimental Bone Shaper Nanites. To the amazement of the watching Doctors the soliders arm had been regrown in four hours. But the arm was different. It was more muscled, the red veins were easily visible and his fingers were covered in sharp clawlike bones all the way to the pointed tip. This prevented him from ever using a gun again but the arms slicing capability was huge. He could slice through metal like it was paper.

The Slicers were deployed to the battlefield as melee fighters but even with their deadly claws they were no match for the Locust. You should never bring a knife to a gun fight. The Slicers were disbanded and changed back but the healing capabilities of the Bone Shaper Nanites was taken and used to create Regenerate. Now a days if you lose an arm or leg a quick shot of Regenerate and you'll have it back in hours.

Humanity: The Beginning of the End

This term is used to describe the day when the Daedalus returned from Locust space to warn Humanity.

The term Unity is used to describe the unifying period of Human men and Flist women.

Humanity: Revival project

The Revival project is the scientific endeavour of bringing Human Women back to life. Orginally their were 23 research stations for this but three were destroyed by a Flist activist. It is a common fear amongst the Flist that when Human women return the Flist will be forced back to their homeworld X-23 and back to their caves and abusive Flist men.

The Revival project is currently hidden to prevent further destruction.

Humanity: The Day of Rebirth

The Day of Rebirth is the day when for the first time in years the population counter or Death clock as it is known went up instead of down. This was due to the birth of the first children born between a Flist and a Human. A Human boy named William and a Flist girl named Chorus were born on August 9th and that day is now a galactic holiday.

A Harvesting Facility is a compound created by the carnivorous Locust to kill and cook captured Humans for food.

Humanity: Hell's Kitchen

Hell's Kitchen is a massive ex Locust Harvesting Facility on Mercury. When the war ended it was refitted into the most secure prison in the Galaxy. The Guards are cruel and the inmates are heartless. No one gets out of Hell's Kitchen alive.

Humanity: The Juggernaut

The Juggernaut is a survival test on Mars with a 76% mortality rate but passing it is necessary to become an Admiral.

The Eclipse bomb is the first anti-matter bomb and is capable of destroying an entire planet.

New term for Human husband or Flist wife

Humanity: White zig zag tattoos on arms

The white tattoos signify that the person has a mate. This practice was adopted from the Flist.

Alright and thats it for this Reference. I think I've answered everything that might confuse people but if I missed something tell me and I'll remove the chapter and fix it.

Next I'll do the Flist Reference but I'm kinda torn between doing the next chapter of the story or working on the Flist Reference. When the Flist Reference is done I'll do the Hoto or the Locust next. Hell, I'm still making NEW species and I'm already explaining my old ones again :)
