May 4th, 2011 6:30PM I don’t know what I am doing anymore. I shouldn’t trust these people, but after I saw that little boy transform before my very eyes I knew what they described themselves to be wasn’t a lie. So much has happened since this morning. Two ridiculously gorgeous women introduced themselves as Tobias’ sisters. Astrid is the sister with deep red hair and yellow eyes with a quiet and somewhat serious personality. Katarina is the sister with golden hair and jade colored eyes who is absolutely kind and sweet. I can’t quite put my finger on it but they make me feel so safe. They had visited me in the prison room and they practically pampered me spa style. The bathed me and massaged me, more importantly they finally released me from that awful room. They have given me a room that is located in a tower and let me say that it is the most beautiful room ever. It is so rustic and lovely just like out of a story book fantasy. I have shelves filled with books, a desk to write on, an extremely comfortable bed to sleep in and a private bathroom… This would be so amazing if I hadn’t of been kidnapped. If they had just talked to me, of course I would have thought of them as crazy, but if they would have gone a different route I think I could have come willingly. However they did let me now that I am allowed to leave my room whenever so starting tomorrow I will be taking a look around to find my way out. Astrid warned me against trying to escape, but they do not realize that my life is still there and I have people that do worry about me. I do not need my career to fall apart just because of some crazy prophecy these people believe in. They explained that there are much bigger and more important things that need to be addressed and that the world I am from no longer exists. But I know it still does, at least it does for me. There is still so much that I am unsure of and I don’t know what to believe anymore. What if they are tricking me? What if they really are brain-washing me into believing that they are the good guys when in reality they are the bad guys and they are trying to harness my “powers” in order to unleash a whole new form of evil into the world?? Ok, I am probably thinking off the deep end…but still. Apparently Gramps knew all about that is going on and failed to tell me about any of it. I don’t doubt that much, but how am I supposed to trust a man that hates my grandfather? How am I supposed to allow a werewolf win my heart? Heh. About that, Tobias says wants to win my heart for himself. I guess I have been imprinted on by the wolf that resides within him. Had this situation been different I would not have a problem letting this Adonis take me, hell I’d get the process started for him! I am just not used to that kind of attention though. That’s how it was growing up. Nothing but douche bags and assholes telling me that I am fat and that I need to lose weight. Having them constantly remind me that I have small breasts and that I am too weird to be acknowledged. But Tobias told me that I was sexy and that I was beautiful. Does he really believe that? Is he just trying to win me over so that he can populate the world with his powerful spawn? I have agreed to try and get to know Tobias. And though I feel drawn to him in the most sensuous way possible, there is a small part of me that warns me I should be weary of him. Heh. Weary of a Werewolf. Well I am off to meet the clan that supposedly had once been ruled by my father. A later entry will describe what happens. Until then taa-taa!
* * *
Dinah stood from the writing desk and made her way to the large bureau and upon opening the ornate doors she found it filled with dresses of all kinds. “Seriously? Dresses? No pants or t-shirts?” She thought out loud in an annoyed tone. There were short summer sun dresses, long summer dresses, cocktail dresses, and two beautiful medieval dresses. Not knowing what to wear, Dinah chose a short teal summer kimono-like dress that was made of a very soft silky material. Setting it out on the bed the short-haired girl went into the bathroom and showered.
Her mind was filled with so many thoughts about all the things that had occurred in the past few days that she felt like her brain would just explode. Having been kidnapped and fighting her captor to dressing up and joining him for a dinner that would allow her to meet people that knew her father before he died. She could not believe that she had agreed to dine with him. She laughed at the stupidity she felt for trying to get to know the man that abducted her from her home in the middle of the night. “Stockholm Syndrome.” She said aloud chuckling, “I am such a damn fool.” Closing her eyes she let the warm cascade over her; she wanted to wash all of it away.
She used a fluffy towel to dry herself off and all the while she hummed a small tune to drown out the unpleasant thoughts. She used the coco butter lotion she found in her bathroom and then she brushed her wet hair. After looking at herself for a long while she smiled sweetly at her reflection, “Here goes nothing.” She returned to her room and slipped the teal dress over her head, the smooth fabric felt wonderful against her skin. Returning to the armoire she opened a drawer and noticed all of the underwear that had been provided to her had been made of lace, luckily there were many different styles for her to choose from so she selected a conservative pair. Pulling out a pair of white lacey bikini style panties she slipped them on and proceeded to search the armoire. “I’m pretty sure Tobias picked out all the clothes.” She said bitterly through her teeth when she realized there were no bras available to her.
A knock at the door made her jump, “Y-yes?”
“Dinah, are you ready?” Tobias voice sounded from the other side
Her heart began racing wildly. She walked to the large window and took a quick peek outside for the first time. The place was like a fortress that was surrounded by a protective wall and outside of it was a beautiful looking forest. This was nothing like her home. “Yes,” She replied loudly “I am ready.”
Tobias opened the door and found his woman by the window looking out into the summer evening. She wore one of the many dresses he had chosen for her and the color complimented her bronzed skin and dark hair. “You look beautiful.”
She turned to meet his gaze and locked eyes with him, this made him stiffen in arousal, “You picked out my outfits didn’t you?”
His eyes widened in surprise, “How could you tell?” Goosebumps covered his body as Dinah walked towards him in a sultry manner
“You forgot to get me any bras. And you seem to keep this place of yours rather cool. So you either really did forget to get me any,” She stopped directly in front of him and looked up at him with her large flirtatious eyes, “or you did it intentionally. And considering that you have sisters and you insist that you find me utterly attractive I believe it is the latter of the two.” She pressed her hardened nipples against his abdomen and his member swelled painfully in need. His breathing quickened and his face became flushed. He eyes traveled from hers down her nose and stopped at her full coral lips. She pulled away from him and headed towards the door. “Come on Mister Tobias.” She smirked teasingly at him, “Introduce me to my clan.”
Tobias watched the alluring dark-haired girl exit the room and descend the stairs. Taking a deep breath he tried his best to ignore the throbbing organ in his pants. She knew too well how to get him riled up and he hoped he could be able to resist her provocative actions lest he do something beyond his control. He popped his neck and took one last deep breath before following the girl. Tobias so badly wanted to ravage her. His golden eyes gazed at the back side that swayed left and right of the woman he desperately craved. Before having imprinted with her he had been quite the womanizer and no woman had ever turned down his advances. So every time Dinah fought him off it nearly drove him mad. And now that he had the chance to get to know her he was trying his best to repress his carnal urges. No woman, human or supernatural had the ability to make his body react this way. Her body moved gracefully and her healthy hair caught the light as the dark wavy locks began to dry. Although he insanely lusted after her, there was something about her that had him enthralled. If she were to become his mate it would be for their entire lives and he was more than glad to try and get to know her. He wanted to appreciate what her personality and character was like especially since she would be the only one for him. But it felt as if it were more than just the wolf within him imprinting. And even though she was the rightful heir to the clan and it was his duty to keep her safe, the part of him that had imprinted with her was more than just being loyal. The tawny wolf looked away and tried to focus on something other than her body.
“So, where to Mister Tobias?” Dinah turned on her heels to face the tall handsome man and for a moment her heart skipped a beat. It was as if she had barely realized how attractive he really was. He wore a tight black shirt that hugged his torso, dark blue jeans, and his caramel colored hair was slicked back. His chin was adorned in light stubble and as he looked down stepping off the last step of the stairs Dinah released a sigh. He simply looked pensive and vulnerable and something deep down inside of her wanted to claim that part of him. She cleared her throat and looked the other way trying to avoid eye contact with him. Goosebumps exploded all over her body as his fingertips touched her upper arm.
He motioned with his other hand towards the east side of the hallway “This way to the dining hall.”
They walked in silence side by side, their minds swimming in thoughts about the other. Dinah repeated over and over that she should not let herself fall for him. Tobias reasoned with himself to take it slow with her. Loud laughing and carousing could be heard coming from a set of large open doors. “This is the dining hall.” Tobias said with a hint of nervousness in his voice
Dinah stopped dead in her tracks, “Is there anything that I should know before going in there?” Fear radiated off of her.
Tobias stood before her and lowered himself so that he was eye to eye with her and as he did this a warm secure feeling washed over Dinah, “Do not let them see that you are afraid. They already know that you have no knowledge of the Mythic Layer and some will try to use that against you in order to overthrow you as Matriarch. But you have supporters and you will notice them immediately.”
She tried to slow her panicked breathing, “What about you?”
Her heart jumped as he smiled a very confident smile, “I am your number one supporter. I will not leave your side, not even for a moment.” Standing to his full height he offered her his arm, “I will be doing much talking, so I need you to trust that what I am doing is for you. Having the full support of the clan means that they will protect you at all costs and that is what matters most.”
“Are you doing this because I am your mate?” She asked standing up straight and holding her head up high
“I am doing this because you are my Matriarch.” He replied seriously “You being my mate is just extra insurance for you to have.” He winked at her. Tobias led her into the great dining hall and all suddenly went silent.
Dinah noticed that the room was enormous and in the middle of it were many tables that had been set in a fashion that resembled a rectangle with one missing short end. Her heart began to race as all eyes fell upon her. Tobias led her around towards where Katarina and Astrid sat at the center of what seemed to be the head table. There must have been eight families all together; four families on each side of the formation and all of them sat on the outsides. The center of the formation seemed to be set that way so that everyone could see each other, no backs turned to anyone’s face, out of respect. Dinah kept her head held high and her eyes pointed forward.
As Tobias and Dinah reached the two empty chairs that were placed at the center of the head table her eyes scanned the silent spectators. Five rugged aged men stood without speaking a word and placed their right fist to their heart and bowed deeply. The family members around them stood as well and followed suit. Dinah could only assume these were the supporters that Tobias spoke of.
“This woman is Dinah Anastasia Lupe. She is the grandchild of Rasamus the Halfling and the daughter of the fallen Alpha Vincent Lupe. She is officially the only remaining heir of the Alphas and thus she is Matriarch of our clan.” Tobias’ voice rang clear and firm
“All hail the Matriarch!”
“Welcome Lady Alpha!”
“Blessed be Lady Lupe!”
The shouts of the five families could be heard and this both frightened and excited Dinah. Perhaps what Tobias Viktor and his sisters had told her was true. And knowing that these families of her family’s clan supported her made her feel all the more safe in this new world she was going to get to know. Tobias pulled out a chair and motioned Dinah to sit and as she took the seat offered her, the five men sat and then the members of their families sat. The three remaining families looked to one another with disapproving looks. One of the three men stood as all the members of the clan began to whisper among themselves. Her dark eyes fell on him and he in turn stared directly at her. She could tell he did not like her sitting before them as Matriarch.
“How are we to know that she is really the child of our fallen Lupe?” his gruff voice could be heard above the loud murmurs. And again the dining hall went silent. Dinah looked to Katarina who sat next to her and the blonde smiled assuredly at her.
“Dare you question the paternity of this woman?” Tobias asked sternly
“I merely pander how we had no knowledge of this child still living. When Vincent and the witch died we believed that the child had died with them. How are we to know that she is really their daughter? Where is Rasamus? Only his word I will believe.” The white bearded man practically glared at the dark haired woman
“Aye!” Another man that resembled a red-haired Viking stood and seconded the first man, “Why should we believe this girl is our Matriarch? And if she is, why should we accept her as Alpha?”
Dinah’s heart practically sank.
The last man from the three opposing families stood. His black hair, light colored eyes, and pale skin made his barbaric height all the more daunting. “I believe she is the Alpha’s daughter.” The two opposing men looked at him in surprise. “She looks like the Witch, but she bears the colorings of Vincent. I do not doubt she is their child.” He looked directly into Dinah’s eyes, “However, what I do doubt is her ability to be able to maintain the structure of our clan. She clearly has no knowledge of our world.”
Dinah sat up straight and jutted out her chin. He may have been right, but she did not like being told she was incapable of anything. “It is true that Rasamus the Halfling did not teach her of our ways. He raised her in the Veil and had her powers sealed. She knows little of the Mythic Layer, but she is intelligent and no doubt with the proper education she will be more than fit to take her rightful place as Matriarch.”
“Now, now Young Tobias,” The third man addressed with a mocking tone, “as we all know because you are the Beta it is your duty to protect the Alpha blood-line. But even you had your qualms with the Alpha himself when he took on his mate and even until his untimely death. I hope I do not overstep any boundaries by saying that I hope you are not backing this woman simply because she is the daughter of Chanter the Witch.”
A weird feeling began to build at the pit of Dinah’s stomach. What did the man mean about that? Didn’t Tobias say he had been friends with her father? Why would he only protect her because of her mother? Apparently Tobias had some skeletons in his closet and Dinah wanted to know what they were and how soon he had planned to let her know about them.
“You will do well to remember your place, Egil.” Astrid vehemently hissed at the black-haired man. “Do not bring irrelevant matters to this discussion. The importance of this deliberation is to introduce the rightful heir to the clan that she has been kept from. Because of the Halfling’s treaty alliance with the witches our clan has gone without an Alpha for far too long. We must examine the matter at hand. Should we cast out our only remaining Alpha and then face a civil war amongst the families of the clan? Or shall we allow Dinah to learn our ways so that she may rule as the blood heir?” The clans’ family members looked to their head male, “We will leave this to the family heads to consider the appropriate action for the best of the clan. Fellow clan let us retire.” The ruby-haired beauty pushed back her chair and gathered up the son that clung to the skirt of her dress. She turned to her bother and touched her arm. “Convince them well dear brother.” Then turning to Dinah she spoke, “Let Katarina and I escort her to your room.”
“No sister, I will be the one to escort her before the counsel convenes for the deliberation. Come with me Dinah.” He pulled back her chair and she followed him out of the dining hall. She could feel all the eyes watch her as she left.
Tobias said nothing to her as they made their way to her tower room. Dinah had so many questions and she only wished there was enough time to have them answered. “I thought you were my father’s friend. Why would you have opposed his mating with my mother? And why would that man say that you are only protecting me just for the sake of my mother? What is it that you are not telling me?” She stopped in front of him and searched his face for any reaction.
Tobias painfully closed his eyes and released a deep anguished sigh, “Dinah, I used to be in love with your mother.”
