Reunited

This chapter takes place before the last one ends, I just wanted to mix things up a bit.

Sagura spent what seemed like hours, lying on her bed, face buried in her pillow. Her tears had dried up a little while ago, and her eyes were no longer red and puffy. She sighed deeply. She needed guidance; someone to help her clear her head from the turmoil that now plagued her every thought. She rose from the bed and dressed into something that was also unlike Sagura. A tight, form-fitting red dress, the straps were off the shoulder, and the length was only long enough to cover half of her thighs. She walked out of her room via door, and left the castle and Zaqqum, headed towards the Mausoleum; the resting place of her mother's remains.

*****

Sagura walked away from her home, up the large hill not far from Zaqqum's Gates. She stopped in front of the old, rusted gates of the graveyard that surrounded the mausoleum. She sighed softly and entered. Immediately the spirits of the dead surrounded her, they wanted to see who it was that entered their sacred garden of tombs. Seeing that it was their queen, the woman they all fought for and died for they backed away allowing her to pass. She walked on silent feet towards the center of the graveyard to the large black structure in the center. She quirked an eyebrow, because standing in front of her mother's tomb was someone. She stopped walking and stared at the stranger, growling softly like a territorial animal. The mist that loomed in the graveyard made it difficult for Sagura to figure out who it was. No one ever entered this garden of death except for herself, the spirits never allowed it. "Who's there?" she called out to the stranger in a demanding tone.

Still looking at the flowers now resting on the cold stone of the grave of the old queen, he felt her presence the minute she entered but didn’t stir. As she came upon him there and demanded who he was, annoyance stirred in his chest and he turned to look at her. “I believe she would be angered with you if she saw you act so rudely to a guest. I am as welcome here as you are, though since I've concluded my business I will leave if you wish.” He started to turn to leave through the side gate, his long red hair flowing out behind him like a bright wisp that didn’t fit the barren grayness of the mausoleum. In fact, he stood out among the graves from head to toe, with his pale purple robes, the red hair and the light green-blue eyes amidst pale skin shaped over a broad toned frame. His was a body few could ever forget.

That voice, it was a voice that she could never forget ever. She gasped softly. As he turned to leave, the mist somehow faded and she could clearly see the stranger. Though he was no stranger to Sagura at all, he was a General of her father's army, who long ago left to fight in her father's name. "N...Niku" she said softly. She moved from where she stood towards him. "Please do not go…I didn't realize it was you." She smiled softly. Her childhood crush had returned from war, seeing him now, made her forget about Kazumei's sleeping with the empress of Magicoz...for a short time at least. The way she was dressed now, was the same as she had when he had left; she didn't  age like most demons, so she still had that young innocent look to her, even though we all know otherwise. He stopped as she recognized him at last and turned to look at her. She hadn’t changed at all from what he could see, though he'd heard differently. He was more or less the same, just older and more experienced now. He inwardly sighed but to her he smiled a little. “You haven’t changed a bit, Princess. Ah, but you're a Queen now aren’t you? I hear you're also spoken for with children as well. I'm glad you've found happiness.” Polite smiles were his specialty, a formality he'd learned as a child. Living the sort of high life that he had, it wasn’t uncommon behavior. He looked her over, a little suspicious as to why she would be dressed so when she was clearly not available to anyone but her husband. “That dress looks nice on you. Were you on your way to a party or did you just leave one?” His questions held no mockery in them, casually making conversation and genuinely curious as to how she came to visit her mother's grave dressed so...lightly. Sagura scoffed; "What happiness is there? I am unmarried with children, one of which hates me for trying to keep her safe. And my so called 'husband' is that dog Kazumei who sleeps with anyone he pleases." Sagura held back the sadness that threatened to return so quickly. She then walked past him to stand in front of her mother's grave. "It's nice to see a friendly face after the day I've been through" she said softly. Turning to look at him; "How have you been Niku?" she looked up at him, trying to hide the tears that now stayed there.

Sadness in her voice; It was strange, and she made it clear the man in her life had caused such an oddity. Turning back to the grave as she stepped up to it, he reached out a hand and gently brushed the tears from her face. “Demons don’t care what they do, you know that. You love this man though, or else your heart would not be so torn by his actions right now”. He sighed softly and crouched down in front of the grave where he'd laid the bouquet of the queen's favorite flowers. He very lightly brushed a finger over the petals. “In my experience, when someone hurts you, the best way to recover is by hurting them back. If they feel for you as you feel for them, then a taste of their own medicine would be enough to resolve the matter.” He looked up slightly to her, his light eyes hard to read but not unkind. His dealings with people were limited to certain situations however, and rising once more to his feet, he faced her. “You address me so familiarly yet we barely know each other. I don’t dislike it though so you needn’t worry.” He smiled again and gently reached out his hand to lay upon her head. As a child he'd done the same a few times in passing before focusing his attention to the task of appointing proper bodyguards.

"Is that what this is? Love...then I suppose it's a broken heart I'm feeling too" Sagura had never felt love before; well at least she never knew what it was. She grew up in a dark hateful world where there was no need or time for such foolish emotions. "He slept with the Empress of Magicoz...how do you suppose I hurt him. A man who has no heart to begin with" she spoke as if in a daze. Not sure of her feelings, his, or anything else for that matter. All she knew or could feel at this moment was this great pain in her chest, a huge sorrow filled her. She smiled softly as she looked into Niku's eyes, even without trying, he always made her feel better. Just by looking at him, she felt at ease somewhat. At her questions on how to get back at this man Kazumei for hurting her, a knowing smile crossed Niku's lips. He leaned towards her and lightly tapped on her nose with his finger. “Oh, I'm sure you'll think of something little princess. It's not a broken heart until he never returns. It's just betrayal and jealousy.” He pulled back and looked at her. Considering who he was; the man who hurt her must be strong and proud, which would mean he would more than likely be possessive of her. That was enough to know how to help the woman before him succeed in getting revenge. She was clever though, so he was sure she'd figure that out on her own and so he said nothing; waiting for the light to go off.

"Betrayal"she whispered under her breath, "you do not own me" she spoke softly, repeating his exact words. She scowled at the thought of him, how could she have ever fallen for a sick, cynical, possessive man like that… 'Possessive' she smirked. "He hates it when someone touches what he claims to be his" she spoke in a demonic way, she smirked looking to Niku. He smiled at her as she mulled things over in a soft voice to herself. As she finally seemed to understand what he meant and flashed him a smirk, he replied with a gentle smile that deep down wasn’t the least bit so. He stepped over to her once more and stopped when there was only a foot between them. “I see the light has returned to your eyes, princess. What will you do now to put your revenge into action?” He fell silent, standing there beside her, waiting to see what she'd do. Being a woman, a man never knew what to expect, especially when it came to matters of the heart. "Tsuzuki" she simply stated, "He is Kazumei's one big obsession." She smiled a dangerous smile. "It would hurt him if anything happened to his precious little angel...then again" she mused to herself, she smirked as an idea began to form in her mind. He continued to smile as she mused on her plot, giving him enough hints to know well where her mind was going. It was an excellent plot, the perfect way to hurt this man who had wounded her heart. Strike at what he loves most; make him angry and jealous as she was. He inclined his head a little as he looked down into her eyes above her pretty smirk. “Obsession for obsession, Jealousy against jealousy; the rage will sing in both your blood, and if that isn’t enough to make him realize his mistake, then this Kazumei is a fool.” His hand came out and brushed a lock of hair from her face. Since when had he ever had the desire to kiss the princess? Surely never as a child, not that he could recall, and yet here...in her anger...her lust for vengeance against her lover...he found himself actually wanting. He was sure some evidence of that was in his eyes, but he didn’t care to hide it. In his mind, nothing would come of it in the end.

Sagura blushed lightly as he brushed the strand of hair from her face. Since she was a young girl she had hoped that he would look at her more than his master's daughter. Touch her gently as he just did. Such a foolish childhood crush, but her feeling for him remained and even after all these years of being far apart…this romantic feeling she had for him then still remained as strong as ever. Sagura looked up to him, into his eyes and saw a look she had longed to see. Not thinking really, she closed the gap between them. Reaching up she pressed her lips softly against his for just a minute before pulling away. She looked up at him, the child-like look of innocence mixed with a mature womanly look shone in her dark eyes. Feeling the subtle brush against his lips and knowing she had just kissed him, his body fell very still. The woman looking at him was indeed the same girl, thus making her unlike the other women who looked at him with such longing. Yet were there consequences to reaching for what she seemed to be offering? His hand acted first as it came to gently clutch her waist and draw her closer, the look in his eyes unchanging. However, he didn’t offer a kiss in reply. He was waiting....

She allowed him to pull her close to him, the look on her face unchanging. It was perfect, the idea that had entered her mind only moments ago. Hurt Kazumei in more than one way, of course the angel played a large role in her plan, but Sagura had to betray him like he had done to her. And who better to help her than someone who could rival Kazumei in strength, intellect and charm. Niku was far greater in Sagura's eyes, but that could be the crush talking. Sagura looked into his dreamy eyes, the look in her own convey a hint of her plan and what she wanted. She only hoped that he would agree to assist her. As she looked at him so, he realized what he'd speculated her plans to be might not have been what he thought. The look in her darkly beautiful eyes was enchanting, and he smiled softly at her before slowly stepping back. “In what way do you require my aide, princess? To acquire this Tsuzuki so that you might hurt him? Or is there perhaps, another thought on your mind acting as part of your plan?” Making other men jealous wasn’t a problem for him, especially when you considered he'd been causing such emotions for centuries. Becoming her ‘complice convient’ intrigued him so that if that was indeed her wish, he would gladly do such.

"There are many things on my mind on what I need you for Niku"She smirked. "but for the moment...considering I do not know where to find the angel...yet. You wouldn't mind helping with the other part of my plan...would you?" she smiled an enchanting smile, knowing that she needn't say what she wanted, he already knew. He tipped his head, looking aside, as if contemplating her request. Then with a grace and speed that defied reason, she was once again in his arms and pressed tightly to his chest. He smiled down at her from the face people claimed was carved from the Master himself. “Pour vous, mon bonbon, je rôtirais heureusement son coeur sur une broche jusqu'à ce que la lueur de sa fierté grillent.” Stroking a single finger slowly down the crest of her cheek, he bent his head and pressed his lips to her own in a searing kiss. The sort that made women swoon and even caused some to faint in his arms. ((trans: "for you, my sweet, I would gladly roast his heart on a spit until the glow of his pride burned out."))

She was startled by his sudden movements, but obviously recovered. Sagura smirked at his words; "How poetic". She swooned slightly at the kiss, his lips pressed tightly against the burning fires of her own. She returned the kiss with such passion and longing; moaning softly at the feel of it all. Feeling her melt beneath his touch proved clearly how much she had longed for him. He'd known she had always been watching him. Knew how she'd dreamed of him as a young girl as if he were some far distant creature. His hands around her slipped to hold her low on her back and between her shoulders, pressing her body closer to him. After centuries of denying her this dream, would it be cruel to finally grant it? He didn’t see any such crime in what they both clearly wanted to do with each other. It was beneficial on both sides, so it was perfect. Sagura pulled away from him regrettably, and looked up at him, eyes full of lust and need. "Not here" she whispered, catching her breath. "Not near the tomb of my mother" she slowly pulled herself out of his arms, not really wanting to separate herself from him, but for what she had in mind, they couldn't be here. She was a lady after all, and a lady never did anything naughty out where she could get caught. "Come with me Niku" she took his hand and led him into her void, to a place where they could be completely alone.
