Epilogue: Turnabout is fairplay, my dear....
Alright, kittens. There\'s two sides to every story. This would be David\'s side...as the bastard gave it to me over the phone just recently. So..this\'ll be short. His name isn\'t actually David. Far too noble of a name for such low form of life.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The ten years he\'d spent with Trevor were all well and good...and on some level, he did actually love the guy. They\'d been best friends. It didn\'t really get romantic until David had been determined to lose his virginity..and Trevor seemed willing enough. But it was one of those things where..you liked the person and you stayed with them just out of convenience. And Trevor was very convenient.
The bitch paid for everything...even paid his cellphone bill a few times. Though he did complain about that. And tried to teach David how to handle his money a little better.
And the sex. God, was it hot. Growing up in suburban Texas didn\'t give David much of an opportunity to explore his sexuality to it\'s fullest. Then he enlisted in the Navy and met his Trevor.
At some point down the road, during the first year of their relationship, he had to admit...he was in love. Trevor liked to go out and do things, and pay for it, and he seemed to take a hands off approach to the learning experience in the relationship. Trev was good like that.
As time went on, Dave started losing his interest in Trevor. Like every man on the planet, after eating so many green m&ms...he wanted a fuckin\' red one! The transfer to Chicago was a blessing in disguise. He met Janet and felt into a sort of pseudo love...forgetting all about the man waiting for him back home. Janet was sexy, well...as far as the military was concerned. You kind of had to grade on the curve. Sure, there were some hotties...but most people you ran into were the types you did not bring home to your mother. Janet was that girl.
But, he couldn\'t forget Heidi..and Amanda...and even that one other guy that Trevor never found out about. Vince... Lordy, lordy...Vince. Dave was very much a nerd, especially when it came to Comics..and Vince was his Wolverine...
But Janet was the one that stuck around, wanting more. She made him feel powerful..and sexy... and he liked it.
When Trevor came to Hawaii and caught him in the act, that\'s when it kind of dawned on him...just how much he\'d hurt his lover. Here was this guy, who did everything for him, went above and, often, beyond the call of duty to see to his well being. And David felt like shit for what he\'d done...
Breaking it off with Janet, he set out on a year-long quest to win the heart of his former lover back...only to get his new lover\'s new relationship thrown in his face. That hurt. That Trevor could just...move on like that. But eh, that was Trevor. Life tended to throw that man a curve ball whenever it could...so, like an old soldier, Trevor overcame and adapted.
That was another thing. In boot camp, they drill the Navy core values into your skull. Honor, Courage, and Commitment. Trevor was the bloody Core Values personified, it awed David most times...with one fatal flaw...He trusted way too easily... And David felt like a fucking douche for stringing the man along like that. Trevor was... There was no one else on the planet like Trevor. The only thing Dave could do was punch himself in the face and yell, "Stupid, Stupid, Stupid!" over and over again...
But anyway... David had his reasons, retarded as they were...he thought he was in the right. Turns out, just like Trev said... Dave was nothing but a douchebag.
