Chapter Seven

Thanks so much for the reviews, I'm sorry the last chapter seemed rushed, I've tried to slow down a bit with this one, hope you like! ^_^

Chapter 7:

Jeremy sighed and clasped his hands together as he sat down on the edge of Midge’s bed. He’d left Miriam with Russell, but found his mind kept drifting back to her, worrying as always. Midge stood near the door looking awkward and shy, eyes avoiding his. A few moments of silence and then Jeremy rubbed his forehead, clearing his throat, “So you and Russell are mated now?” she nodded as her cheeks turned bright red. He smiled happily and nodded, but then his face grew more serious again and he sat up straighter. She knew what he wanted to talk about and she was tempted to ask him to leave and let her be, but that wouldn’t be wise when he was the Alpha, she had to listen to him and do as he said no matter what. “My brother…he didn’t mean for any of this to happen Midge, you know he cared about Mickey and despite his attitude and the things he says he does care about the pack, I know he does. You can’t stay angry at him forever if we’re to be a strong pack and I think it’s getting out of hand now because even though my brother is a little selfish sometimes, he doesn’t deserve to be made to feel guilty every time he sees you, please give him a chance and work things out with him will you?” Jeremy said this with a soft, pleading voice underlined with a slight edge of authority that Midge didn’t fail to notice. She merely nodded and moved aside so Jeremy could get through the door after giving her a quick kiss on the cheek on the way out. When he was gone, she stripped off her clothes and settled into bed with a scowl etched onto her small face.

*

‘Claws raked down his chest, and he looked up to see Mickey’s face half-formed into a snout, fur sprouting along his jaw and under his right eye as if he couldn’t quite fully shift and was stuck between being two creatures. Mickey’s mouth opened, full of pointed teeth, and snapped close to his neck. Hot breath warmed his skin and he shoved Mickey away, only to be grabbed and slammed into the ground he lay on over and over again as they slowly slid closer to the hole in the ground. “Stop it! Mickey stop!” he managed to gasp out, vision spinning and blurring with tears. A low growl rumbled in Mickey’s chest and then a long pink tongue darted out to lick thick stretched lips, “You should be here…don’t you want to meet the worms?” the voice was deep and barely understandable but it made him cringe, and he screamed as worms pushed their way out of Mickey’s eyes like long, living tears, wriggling out the corners and dropping onto his hairy cheeks, becoming tangled in the soft fur. He screamed as Mickey dragged him down into the gaping hole in the Earth, a dark pit with no coffin to lay in, just the pitch black as a blanket to enfold them…’

Calom blinked, realising he was sitting up in bed, mouth hanging open ready to form a terrified scream but nothing seemed to come out. He gasped for breath and clutched his chest as he sat there in the dark, the only light was from the moonlight outside the small dirty window. He pulled his knees up to his chest and wrapped his arms around his legs, resting his head on them as sobs shook his body. He knew it wasn’t his fault, but the guilt still ate at him, and he couldn’t keep the images from his nightmare out of his mind.

Elliot slowly opened his eyes when he heard little whimpers, and rolled over to peer at Calom who sat up on his bed, face buried and shoulders shaking. He was immediately wide awake, surprise making him just lie there and stare for a minute at the sight of Calom actually crying. He then sat up and swung his long legs out of bed, padding over to him and sitting down on the edge of the teen’s bed, “Hey, what’s the matter? Why are you crying?” he tried to put his arm around the boy, but he shuffled away and mumbled something about having sore eyes and not feeling well. “Cal, stop playing the tough guy for once will you? Everyone has to let it out at some point, I know you’re crying so stop acting like nothing’s wrong” Elliot scolded, a little annoyed.

His annoyance was instantly erased when Calom leaned into him, head resting hesitantly on his shoulder. Elliot forced his shocked limbs to move and held Calom close as he began to cry again. “What did they even do with him?” Cal asked in a hoarse whisper once the tears had stopped. Elliot sighed and shrugged, the movement causing Calom’s head to shift slightly on his shoulder. “Jeremy won’t talk about it yet, I just know he and Russell sorted things out….listen Cal…it’s not your fault you know. You wasn’t even there to take any blame, Midge is just a little upset and confused right now and needs someone to take her anger out on”. Calom didn’t reply, he just drew  in a shaky breath.

They sat like that for a while, Elliot’s arms around Calom’s smaller frame, which still shook occasionally as the minutes passed by until he was completely still and breathing softly against Elliot’s neck. He realised the teen had fallen asleep, and smiled affectionately as he lay them back on the bed, careful not to disturb Calom as he pulled the covers over them. It felt nice, lying there with Calom’s head on his chest, body pressed against his, soft strands of hair tickling his neck. He eventually drifted off as well, never once letting go of the sleeping teen in his arms.

*

Sunlight streaked through the windowpane even as tiny drops of rain hit the glass every now and then. Elliot glanced at it but soon returned his gaze to the boy still practically on top of him, brown hair ruffled and lips parted in a way that held Elliot’s attention for a long time. The temptation to kiss those lips and slip his tongue into that warm mouth was almost irresistible, but he didn’t want to freak the teen out too much. He chuckled as Calom snuggled into his chest with a little murmur, and stroked that soft brown hair until the teen’s eyes snapped open. “What the fuck Elliot?! Why are you in my bed? Get the fu-” Calom didn’t have time to finish his sentence as he had scrambled too far back in his attempt to put distance between them, and he found himself tumbling over the edge of the bed, landing hard on his ass. Elliot rolled onto his side and propped himself up on one elbow, shaking with laughter, which only increased when after a few moments of silence Calom suddenly shouted, “Fuck!”

Elliot stifled his giggles and leaned over to see Calom rubbing his bum cheek with a scowl darkening his features. “Aw, would you like a butt massage? I’m quite good you know” he suggested, smirking down at him and kind of hoping he’d take the offer. Calom’s cheeks turned pink and he shot to his feet, throwing a fallen pillow at Elliot’s smug face before stomping off into the bathroom to hide, embarrassed that he’d shown his vulnerable side and clumsy side all at once. He stripped off and climbed into the little shower stall, hissing at the hot spray of water that burned him when he turned it on, and then he just stood there with his head bowed thinking about waking up in Elliot’s arms. He’d been so tender, so understanding last night and it made him feel all warm and weak, which also made him angry…at himself and at Elliot for being so damn nice lately. A part of him wanted things to be normal, to keep Elliot at arms-length and pretend nothing had happened at all. Another part of him wanted that warmth though, wanted to be in Elliot’s arms and feel that soft skin against his…and that mouth on his…

With a groan he leaned against the cold-tiled wall, looking down at his erection with a scowl. He glanced at the steamed up glass and then slid the door across, peering out at the door briefly before turning back and slowly taking hold of his member and thinking about those dreams of Elliot he’d been having so much lately.

Elliot sat up on the bed and looked at the door to the bathroom, wondering what was taking so long. He hoped the teen wasn’t upset again and hiding away so he wouldn’t know this time. With a sigh, he got up and trudged over, lightly knocking and then walking in when finding the door was unlocked. He was about to speak but was stopped short when he heard breathless little moans coming from the shower stall, moans that made his underwear feel so much tighter. After a minute of just standing there staring at Calom’s faint shadow and listening to his whimpers of pleasure, he stripped off his boxers and slipped into the open stall, hand sliding up Calom’s waist. He nearly fell back out the stall when a fist flew into his face and sent him reeling back, pain shooting through his cheek. With a growl he shoved Calom up against the wall under the spray of water and pinned his wrists above his head to keep him from punching him again. “Elliot what the fuck? Get out of here you perv, let me go!”

His protests were stopped by Elliot’s mouth covering his, tongue forcing it’s way inside. He tried to pull his wrists free but went limp as Elliot pressed against him, moving his hips so their erections rubbed against each other. He moaned into Elliot’s mouth and moved his hips as well, wanting and needing more friction, as Elliot’s hands moved over his body with expert fingers, and then he was coming, melting into his arms as his knees buckled and his head spun and he slid against Elliot’s wet skin and clung to him in desperation.

They stood under the water catching their breath and still holding onto one another, and before Calom could begin to get angry and defensive and shove him away Elliot kissed him again, lips then trailing down his neck to his shoulder and nibbling at his soft skin until they both jumped at the muffled sound of knocking. Elliot grinned down at the teen in his arms and then slipped out the stall, grabbing a towel and wrapping it round his hips to answer the door.

“Oh hey Midge, is everything alright?” he asked when he found her standing there, fists clenched at her sides. She nodded and slowly walked in when he gestured for her to come in. “I need to speak to Calom, in private if you don’t mind” she muttered, crossing her arms over her chest and glancing around the room. Elliot grabbed some clothes and went back into the bathroom, seeing that Calom had already dried himself off and was back in his t-shirt and boxers. “Midge wants to talk to you” he said quietly, smiling at the sight of Calom standing there with a blush spread across his pretty face even as he scowled at him when he entered the little bathroom.

Midge frowned as she watched Elliot disappear and heard him talk to someone. They’d both been in the shower? Or had Elliot been in it and Calom just been brushing his teeth or something? When Calom came out with red cheeks and an irritated look on his face she knew something was going with them then. It kind of annoyed her that the one person she thought would have agreed with her about things had actually started to like Calom now. Why were things changing so much? Not too long ago Elliot would have been the one comforting her and giving Calom the cold shoulder. Midge forced the frown on her face away when Cal glanced at her and then away again with guilt-clouded eyes and even though it satisfied her to see him suffering she knew what she had to do. “Calom, I’m sorry for blaming you and saying those horrible things…you didn’t deserve it” she managed to mutter, keeping her face expressionless as he returned his gaze to her in bewilderment. For a few moments he had no idea what to say, he just stood looking at her small form and fidgeted with the hem of his shirt as he thought of about a million things he could say but he couldn’t get them to spill from his lips.

“That’s…OK. I’m sorry too, I understand why you think I’m not worthy of the pack” he eventually replied, scratching the back of his head as she nodded and sighed. “I don’t think your unworthy, I just wish you had a better attitude. You act like the world is against you, always whining and arguing. You never think about how anyone else feels” she said, fists unclenching as she backed up into the door and opened it slightly. “Well, I’ve said what I needed to, I’m going back now. I just wanted to clear the air a little between us”. He frowned but merely nodded, wondering why she was so eager to leave. She hadn’t even given him a chance to defend himself, though he already knew that she was right, he needed to change, if only a little.

Midge turned and walked out and not long after Elliot came strolling out the bathroom, fully dressed and looking concerned. He put a hand on Calom’s shoulder, wanting to pull him into a comforting hug but knowing he would only pull away and scowl at him like usual. “It was nice of her to do as Jeremy ordered” Calom muttered with a humourless laugh, shrugging off Elliot’s hand and stomping over get dressed into some fresh clothes. Elliot watched him, wishing the teen would stop pushing him away and give into his feelings, but he was as stubborn as he was with everything else. “She meant it though I think, whether Jeremy ordered her to come here or not”.

“Yeah course she did, and I’m the fucking Queen of England” Calom snapped, shoving Elliot out of his way as he went to the door, but was stopped by a firm hand on his arm. “Stop being so childish, just accept her apology and let things get back to normal!” Elliot growled out, blue eyes narrowing at him with undisguised annoyance. Calom smacked his hand away, “I’m not being childish! I’m going for a walk, don’t fucking follow me” he turned and hurried away downstairs, leaving Elliot standing in the doorway scowling at his retreating form until he huffed and slammed the door shut.

*

It wasn’t until the sun was setting that Calom returned to the hotel, slamming the door as he walked into the room and kicking off his shoes with a tired sigh. “Where did you go?” Elliot asked from where he lay back on his bed, staring at the cracks in the ceiling. Calom threw his jacket onto the floor and then leaned against the wall, banging his forehead on it until he was told to stop. “Just…walked. I…I can’t get stuff out of my head…Mickey, Midge, Jeremy…you…” Calom whispered, almost too quietly for  Elliot to hear. He sat up and looked over at him curiously, thinking it was too good to be true.

Calom sighed angrily and then turned to run at the bed, diving onto Elliot’s lap and pinning him against the headboard, capturing his lips in a bruising kiss. When he pulled away he looked anywhere but at Elliot, “I can’t stop thinking about you and I hate it. You’re won’t get out of my head! You’re an arsehole” he mumbled crossing his arms over his chest and ignoring the bulge in Elliot’s jeans.

“Cal, you’re calling me an arsehole for being in your head all the time? How is that my fault? You’re an arsehole too then I guess, cause I’m always thinking about you too” Elliot replied, chuckling as a blush crept across Calom’s face. The teen huffed and took hold of the taller man’s shirt, yanking him into another rough kiss to shut him up. When they pulled apart for air Calom ripped Elliot’s shirt open, sending buttons flying everywhere, and then tugged at his belt impatiently even as Elliot unzipped his own jeans and delved a hand inside to cup his erection as it strained against his boxers. Calom couldn’t help but moan and move his hips against the warm hand touching him, and found he had no protests against being flipped over so he was on his back, Elliot hovering over him and trailing kisses down his neck.

Elliot then did the same to him by ripping his shirt open to get better access to his pale chest, grinning when Calom muttered, “That was my favourite shirt you fucking bastard…” He was soon silenced as Elliot’s teeth nipped at his nipple, tongue darting out to soothe the sting that it caused, his free hand coming up to rub the other nipple and soon making Calom writhe beneath him, whimpering in pleasure. “Elliot…Elliot…I’m so close…” Calom gasped, moving faster against Elliot’s hand in desperation. A knock on the door made them freeze, and then Elliot was up and walking over to it, leaving Calom lying on the bed flustered and frustrated, scowling angrily at Russell when Elliot opened the door. “Um…sorry to interrupt…Jeremy wants us to leave in an hour. He said to come back with me to our hotel” Russell  explained, looking awkward and embarrassed as he glanced between them both. Elliot nodded and told him to come in and wait while they packed the few things they had. When they were done, they went downstairs to hand over their keys and made their way over to the other hotel with Russell sitting in the back of the car humming along to the radio that Calom had switched on to fill the silence. He couldn’t believe he’d pounced Elliot like that, he felt so stupid for giving into his desire and basically admitting to Elliot just how much he wanted, and needed, him. He just hoped Elliot wouldn’t joke about it later on. He really didn’t want to have to punch the guy again, and that was something he never would have thought he’d never want to do again. It scared him how much things were changing lately.
