He licks his lips and laces his fingers together as he leans back. His eyes glide over his hopeless Victim. That's always the trick, pick the runaways. The nobodies. They won't be missed.
"I will be the kindest person you ever have known!"
Is thrown after his previous statement, the words filled with false enthusiasm. The challenge is making them dependant, so you can see the betrayel light up their eyes and dominate the tears trying to escape.
Nothing more is said as he waits and watches - his Victim will have to utter a reply someday. They've become predictable after he has been practising for so long.
Gloom settles over the sky outside like a shroud of misery. The season is changing again, and with winter comes the darkness and frost. No one is likely to treck out to the tundra in this season.
His thoughts have kept him occupied long enough, he thinks, as he glances towards his Victim - his sweet, blond Russian, he had come to learn on the ride back home. Tears fall haltingly, as if he is afraid to cry.
A frown meshes with a gentle look, and he rises. His gait is steady but casual after so many years of scouting on foot. Hard work has caused calloused hands, and soft skin feels so wonderful under his rough fingertips.
"Do not cry, pet. You will enjoy it here."
The words are soft and seem to take effect immediatly. The familiar trust seems to be warming it's way already. It didn't take very long at all.
