Rumors About You and Me: Chapter 7

Brandon woke, a little disoriented and confused. He was snuggled with Matt on his living room couch. The events caught up with him. He smiled to himself and kissed the top of Matt’s head.

Matt nuzzled into Brandon’s neck, still half asleep, mumbling “Brandon.”

Brandon liked that even in an unconscious state Matt was thinking about him.

“Hey honey,” Brandon started to wake him up. He dropped some light kisses where he could reach.

Matt stretched with a small groan and opened his eyes. “Hey.”

“Come on, let’s get to my room before my mom gets home.”

That caused Matt to bolt upright. “What time is it?”

“She should be back in about fifteen minutes. Let’s go to my room?” Brandon suggested.

“Yeah.”

After changing pants, they settled in the beanbag chairs facing each other. Brandon wasn’t really sure what he wanted to say, but he wanted to say something. He figured he couldn’t just blurt: so when did you become hot for my body…that probably wouldn’t be a good start.

Matt surprised him by starting first. “So, what happened downstairs…ummm…that was good?” He looked hesitant and nervous.

“Yeah,” Brandon reached out and put a hand on Matt’s arm. “I liked it a lot. When did you realize that you like me like that?”

Matt blushed, “About the time I kissed you the first time. You know…the one that was like my first kiss.” Matt looked embarrassed, “I mean, I liked you as a friend from the start, but then you kissed me and I started thinking about it. And I realized that I wanted to kiss you. And then I kissed you and thought about doing more.”

“So are you attracted to other guys?” Brandon asked, curious.

“Umm…apparently, just to you,” Matt was blushing again with that admission.

Brandon grinned. “Oh yeah?” He moved closer. “So you think I’m sexy?”

“Ummm downstairs I admitted to having a fetish about your mouth. I think that pretty much says it all.”

Brandon laughed. “Awww…honey. You’re so cute.” He threaded his fingers through Matt’s hair.

“So…ummm…is this just, you know, hooking up? Or do you like me?” Matt couldn’t seem to meet his gaze.

Brandon couldn’t believe that Matt even asked the question. His surprise caused him to hesitate, which apparently caused Matt to become doubtful.

“It’s ok, I understand…” Matt’s voice sounded so sad.

Brandon interrupted him with a soft kiss. “You really don’t think anyone could be attracted to you? That anyone would want to be with you?” Brandon was more serious than ever.

“I…I guess I just don’t see what would be so special about me.”

“You don’t see it, but I do. I think” kiss. “you.” kiss. “are.” kiss. “fantastic.” Brandon pulled Matt closer to him. “I want you to be my boyfriend. For real,” he whispered against Matt’s neck.

“I think I’d like that,” Matt was smiling shyly.

“Awesome,” Brandon kissed him again, this time, deeper and more passionately.

That’s when Brandon’s mom popped her head in the doorway.

“Oh! Sorry boys.” She was smiling widely at them.

“Hey mom,” Brandon felt awkward. His mom had never walked in on him making out with anyone before.

“So, do you have something to tell me?” She asked.

“Yeah, Matt and I are boyfriends, for real.”

“Yes! I’m so happy for you!” She grabbed both of them in a hug, her left arm around Brandon, her right around Matt.

Brandon couldn’t help laughing happily.

She ended up convincing them to watch a movie with her.

The next day at lunch, when Brandon sat down, he automatically kissed Matt, not caring who saw.

Amanda let out a sound that was pretty much a squeal. “Oh my God! You guys! That’s so cute!”

Brandon laughed. “I feel like that’s all you ever say about us.”

“Probably because that’s all she ever says about you guys,” Tyler teased. He was less surprised by the display, seeing as Brandon had texted him the previous night telling him everything.

They all laughed as she tried to deny it.

While they were eating, Matt put his hand on Brandon’s thigh causing him to jump a little in surprise. He shot him a look to see Matt acting nonchalantly, eating as if nothing was happening.

He found that surprisingly hot.

His boyfriend was touching him, almost intimately, and acting as if it were no big deal. And not even blushing. Brandon was so proud of him.

“So, do you want to go on a double date?” Amanda asked them.

“Who would you be going with?” Matt asked, sounding surprised.

Amanda actually blushed. She glanced at Tyler.

“Tyler?!” Brandon was shocked.

“Are you guys serious?” Matt asked.

Tyler was grinning mischievously.

“When did this happen? Why didn’t you guys tell us?” Brandon asked.

“Well, we talked at Kevin’s party, and we went on a date Saturday,” Tyler answered.

“We haven’t even been on a real date yet and you guys already have?” Brandon teased.

Matt’s thumb began to make small circles on Brandon’s thigh. “I think it sounds fun. I want to do it.”

“Okay,” Brandon instantly agreed.

“Awesome! We should go somewhere really, really nice,” Amanda was very enthusiastic.

They spent the rest of the lunch period making plans.

Brandon came out of his last period class to find Matt waiting for him.

He grinned, “Hey honey, did you miss me.” He stepped close, into Matt’s personal space.

“Of course. I thought about you all day baby,” Matt said in a joking tone, but physically he brought Brandon closer to him, their bodies brushing, so Brandon wondered if the jokingly said comment was true.

It was true for him. He hadn’t stopped thinking about Matt. He really liked him and was really glad that everything was turning out the way it was. It was so strange that only a few weeks before they didn’t even know one another. And now, now Brandon felt like…

He was falling in love.
