The Mini Cooper was red, and in mint condition. It looked like Kenta had spent a fortune on its restoration. Sander was delighted. He grinned from ear to ear when Kenta stepped out. “What a sweetie!” he exclaimed.
“You like?” Kenta grinned proudly, patting the shiny hood. “You’ll love the ride, I’m sure. Hello love-bunny… Did you sleep well?”
Sander answered the embrace and the kisses. “I slept great. Did you?”
“Oh, yes. I have to admit I was a little anxious though… I worried you wouldn’t show up after all.”
“Heh,” Sander smirked. “You’re kidding. I wouldn’t want to miss this in the world. Come on, it’s a nice day, and I truly want to go out to the country with you.”
“One more cuddle…” Kenta gave him another warm kiss before he managed to let him go. He was blushing a little, Sander noticed to his pleasure. It seemed their desires were mutual.
“If you look in your heart,” Kenta said as they drove between the meadows and along the lanes of small villages, “then what is your dream house?”
Since they were slowly passing by old farm houses, Sander knew what Kenta wanted to hear. “Modern architecture,” he said to tease the man, keeping an eye on his expression. He poked him as the smile faltered. “I was kidding,” he winked. “I love old, small houses like that.” He pointed at a white plastered house with a thatched roof and flowers in the garden.
“I was ready to throw you out of my car,” Kenta muttered. “Modern architecture indeed. That has no soul, no love…!”
Sander reached out, placing his hand on the man’s thigh. “You’re romantic, aren’t you,” he smiled. “Mini Coopers, picnics in the country, old houses…”
“Kisses in the moonlight, lazy days at the lake,” Kenta added to the list, nodding.
“Dinners with candle light, wine, and a warm fire place in the winter while the wind and rain rattles the shutters?”
“Oh yes.” Kenta sighed delightedly. “You’ve got the picture. Is that what you like too?”
“It sounds great, but I never had the chance to be romantic with anyone.”
“Oh, bunny, you’re gonna love it,” Kenta assured him. He even shivered. “I wish it was winter already. I want to snuggle in a soft sofa and cuddle you.”
“Stop the car,” Sander ordered with a snap.
“What?” Kenta quickly turned to the side of the road. He looked shocked. “Oh baby, did I say something wrong?”
Sander scowled at him, and grabbed him at his lapels. He wanted to tell him they just met and knew nothing about each other. He wanted to say he shouldn’t trust him yet, because beauty was only skin deep. He wanted to ask him to stop doing what he was doing, because he made his heart sing. It all crossed his mind. Instead of saying it, he yanked him close, and kissed him.
Kenta unbuckled their seat belts, and pulled him close. They kissed for minutes, gentle at first, ending with dueling tongues. They both sighed deeply as they drew apart. “Sander,” Kenta whispered, “sweet young bunny. What am I going to do with you...?”
“What do you mean?” Sander’s smile was nervous, and faltered. “I got the impression you liked me...”
“I like you,” Kenta nodded. “Oh, I like you...” He caressed his hair and smooth cheek, looking closely at his face. “Very much,” he concluded quietly. He put the car into gear, and drove on.
They parked at a dirt path between trees. A small stream peacefully murmured over rocks and pebbles. Kenta led Sander to a relatively flat spot with grass, and spread out a clean blanket. As they both sat down, he opened the basket. “Coffee?”
“Yes, please.” Sander made himself comfortable. They both kicked off their shoes. It was peaceful and quiet; ideal for a picnic with a beautiful man. The place was secluded, but not completely blocked from view. No sex in the open, he thought. But he could still kiss him.
Kenta smiled as they finished the kiss. He gave him a cup of coffee. “I’ve made buns and there’s fruit. Got some bottled water as well. I reckoned that would be enough, don’t you think so?”
“It sounds fine to me,” Sander said. “I’ve never picnicked before.”
“Really? What do you usually do on a beautiful Sunday like this?”
Sander shrugged. “Hang about on my balcony with a book and my headphones. I just came back from three weeks Greece… Usually I just want to go out on Friday or Saturday and relax on Sunday.”
“Lounging, they call it,” Kenta said. He leaned against a rock, and stretched his legs. The filtered sunlight made his tanned skin glow. “You’ve been in Greece? Is that where you met a nice man and decided you were gay?”
“Gee,” Sander smirked. “Maybe I always knew I was gay, but didn’t find the right man yet? What makes you think I only recently discovered myself?”
Laughing, Kenta rubbed his feet against Sander’s. “I don’t know why,” he shrugged. “It feels that way. It feels as if you only just opened your eyes, and have discovered a whole different side of men. It’s in your kisses, bunny… Am I right?”
“Yeah.” Sander admitted it, reluctantly. “It happened in Greece. But not with a Greek man on the beach… I was bored, and I slept with my best friend. He’s still straight, and I discovered something completely new.”
“Hm. He was that good, was he?”
Sander looked up. “Yes,” he said. A smile slowly appeared on his face. “You are jealous… Oh my gods,” he laughed aloud, shifting closer. “We only met last night, and you are jealous at the first guy I had!” As Kenta mumbled something, looking away, he pushed him down. He crawled half on top of him. “You asked me what you were going to do with me,” he said softly. Tenderly, he slid a finger over Kenta’s nose and lips. “You already know what you are going to do with me, don’t you? You want to keep me…”
“You’re not a pet I can keep,” the man muttered. He scowled, glancing up. “I’m not desperate, Sander,” he said, clearer. “And it’s not a matter of testosterone, I swear. But when I saw you at the bar last night, I knew I had finally found the one I always wanted to have… I’ve dated men, Sander. I’ve been searching. You know that feeling when you try to find that perfect thing you absolutely need? You keep looking, hoping, and suddenly you find it.”
“How can you know you were looking for me?” Sander observed Kenta’s face, taking in al detail. He was so beautiful. He wouldn’t mind to be the man’s partner at all, really, it was just that… “You know nothing about me, Kenta…”
“I know,” Kenta sighed. “That’s why I feel terribly insecure. What if I’m wrong?” Reaching up, he combed Sander’s sleek locks with his fingers. “I would like to get the chance to get to know you, Sander. Not in bed. I’m sure sex will be great, but that’s not what I need.”
“I do,” Sander laughed. “You said so yourself; I’m just discovering!” he pecked a kiss on Kenta’s lips, and nuzzled him. “Maybe you didn’t find what you wanted because I wasn’t open for it yet,” he mumbled. “Last night was my first gay outing. Perhaps you were lucky to find me.”
“If I hadn’t, you would’ve been seduced by another man, right? Someone who only wanted to fuck you, and dump you.” As he said it, Kenta’s arms tightened around the other as if he wanted to protect him. “Let’s get one thing straight right away, Sander… I’m not searching for a fleeting encounter. I want a partner. If you only want to experiment and to have fun, please be honest and tell me so. It’s only budding; at least I won’t be heartbroken if I know now.”
“Mh.” Sander smirked a bit, still observing him. He never had a talk like this with anyone before. He had never expected this to happen, not with girls anyway. He wondered if Roy ever had a talk like this with his boyfriends. Perhaps it was a gay thing? Seriously, he doubted it.
“Kenta,” he eventually said, “I’d be more than happy to be with one man, if that man treats me with respect and loves me. Only time will tell if you are that man, won’t it? We only just met!”
“I know we just met. I just want to know if I set my hopes to high. I’m glad to hear you would like a partner; that’s what’s most important to me.” Shaking his head, Kenta pushed Sander off him, and he sat up. “I’m a teacher, goddammit, and I can’t even explain what I mean.”
“Kenta… Will you shut up and kiss me? Get that hot body on top of me, and relax, you fool…” Sander grabbed the man at his belt loops, and pulled him between his legs. “That guy who cheated on you really broke your heart, didn’t he? How long ago?”
“A few years,” Kenta shrugged. “I was devastated, yes. I hated him so much, I wanted to kill him.”
“Ooh… Are you like that?” Sander grinned, squeezing the round butt cheeks between his hands.
“It’s not funny…”
“I know; I’m trying to lighten up the mood. Forget him, Kenta. You’re beautiful, gorgeous, but far too sweet for this world. I don’t know how long you were with him, and who he cheated you with, but the fact he didn’t see what he had makes him a loser. He’s not worth your energy. Spend it on me… I’m a young, demanding bunny, right?”
It was Kenta’s turn to observe him. “Actually, I think you are very mature for your age,” he said thoughtfully.
“I’ve been told,” Sander nodded. “Which is probably why I wasn’t successful in any relationship. I’m too serious.”
Kenta nodded slowly. “Young, pretty, and serious. All that’s left is liking the blues, and you’re perfect.”
Sander laughed. “I don’t want to be perfect. Perfect is boring.” He patted Kenta’s butt. The weight was pleasant on his front, and he felt a bit warmer. It only got worse when Kenta finally kissed him. Still, they didn’t open their clothes…
