Sam

Sam shut the door a little harder then she had intended. Rethinking the entire conversation over in her head Sam finally rationalized that Bella hadn’t actually done anything wrong at all. Sam‘s stomach gurgled very loudly. ‘Idiot!’ she thought to herself. She laid on the bed and cried to stubborn to go out there and admit to Bella that she was in-fact VERY hungry. Overwhelmed tired and starving Sam slipped into a dark dreamless state.

Sam sat up fast the towel that was wrapped around her was now on the floor and it was dark out. She quickly dressed herself in what she had worn earlier that day. She tip toed to the door hoping that Bella was either gone or asleep. She opened the door just as Bella was walking to the bathroom and she quickly slammed it in her face without even thinking.

Finally she opened it back up blushing deep red. She had just shut Bella out of her own room. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to. I can be a major bitch sometimes as I‘m sure you know by now.”

Bella just shrugged and smiled at her. She knew that Sam was going through a really hard time even if she wasn’t exact on all the detail that had happened between her and her brother. “Its alright. Kay.” Sam nodded sheepishly.

“Are…” Bella looked around for something to say as if words would leap off the walls and into her mouth. Then smiling as Sam’s stomach roared its frustration. “Are you hungry Sam?” Again she nodded her head. “Come on I will make you something ok.” Sam just follow like an obedient puppy. As Bella got the leftovers from the dinner she had made earlier Sam fidgeted and tried to speak many times. “You know.” Bella turned from what she was doing to look at Sam. “You don’t…. I mean I’ll just.” she stuttered over herself time and time again.

Looking around shyly, Sam finally said “I‘ll just have some toast or something.” Bella was outraged by this. “You will most certainly not ‘just have some toast.’ as long as you are under my roof and you live with me you will be taken care of and you will not worry about a thing anymore. Is that understood.” Sam was utterly shocked and tears immediately sprung to her eyes.

Bella immediately apologized. “Aww hun. Please don’t cry I‘m sorry I didn’t mean that in a mean way I promise. I just wanted you to know that I will always take care of you.” Bella started fixing up the salad. “As long as you are living with me. That is.” She turned and winked at Sam.

Was Sam imagining it or. Did Bella add on about that last part for some hidden meaning. Then the food was ready and the thought was lost to Sam’s troubled mind. After Sam had taken a few bites Bella asked her “So how is it. Is it ok?”

“It‘s great thank you. I can honestly say I don’t remember the last time I had a decent meal”
“Haha that’s probable the only reason it taste even remotely decent then.”
“No I mean it.” Sam looked a little hurt “It really is good. Even if I weren’t ravines I would still love it.”
“Well I‘m glad that you like it so much.”

Sam ate the rest of her meal in silence and Bella couldn’t help but watch her as she greedily ate to her stomachs content. After she was don’t Sam stood up and attempted to take the plate with her.

“No no no no no. You stay right there little missy” Bella took the plate with her and rinsed it in the sink and put it in the dishwasher. Then cleaned up the rest of the kitchen. Finally when she was finished she faced Sam with glee in her eyes. “I hope you saved room for dessert because I bought a pie the other day that I‘ve been dying to try.”

“I don’t know I ate a lot.” Then Bella pulled the pie from the fridge. Sam watched as she pulled off the top. Sam couldn’t help smile.
“Come on just a little piece I can‘t eat this all by my self.”
“Ok but just a little piece alright I feel like I‘m going to explode if I eat to much.” Bella clapped “Yay!” She pulled some whip cream out of the freezer and got two small plates and a couple of forks.

Bella cut the pie and dished it out. “Do you like lots of whip cream on your pie?” Bella asked spoon at the ready. “No not really I like being able to actually taste the pie itself.” She put about a spoon full of whip cream on Sam’s pie then loaded her own pie with lots of cream.

Sam stared at her in astonishment she had never seen someone put so much on their pie. “Would you like some pie with your cream?” she said. Bella looked up to see Sam laughing and smiling. She was taken about. Sam had the most beautiful smile that she had ever seen, she was so cute and she thought the perfect mouth to kiss. She leaned in.

Sam’s heart seemed to momentarily stop as she saw Bella advance on her. Then she stopped just short of her lips and Bella whispered “You have some whip cream on your cheek.” Bella whipped it off with her thumb and sat back up. Sam relaxed and smiled again.

Sam laughed “You know for a minute there I thought that you were going to kiss me or something.” Bella just laughed. Nervously. But thankfully Sam wasn’t paying to much attention. So Bella was able to change the subject very easily. They talked about each others fays.

“Today I went to the police department. The asked some questions about your brother and you. I told them what I knew which wasn’t very much. Also they said when you can and if you feel up to it the want you to come in for questioning. Preferably with in a couple days though.”

Sam just shook her head. “I can’t, Jed would KILL me if he ever found out that I talked to the police let alone rat him out.”
“But Sam you need to tell them what happened so that they can convict him for good. Other wise they have to let him go.” She just shook her head and sealed her mouth shut until Bella changed subjects. “So I talked to you boss.” She said that she wanted you to take a few days off and not to worry about coming in.”

The talked for a while longer then Bella noticed the clock on the stove red 12:00. “Well,” She stretched. “I think its time to say our head bed ya?” Sam agreed and started to head off to the bed room. Then she turned around.

“Bella.”
“Hmmm?” Mumbled Bella sleepily.
“I wanted to thank you. For everything. You have been such a great friend. Though I don’t understand why.” She laughed feebly. “So thank you. For taking care of me; bringing me to your home feeding me. You so kind to me. I hope I can return the favor one day.”

Smiling Bella shook her head. “That’s what friends are for. And no need to return anything keep this ‘favor’ as a gift.” She winked at Sam. They stood there for a minute longer. Then suddenly Sam hugged Bella. She was a little shocked at first but she hugged Sam right back.

They finally said good night and Sam went off into the bedroom and Bella off to the couch. Sam felt restless. Which was odd because she had felt so tired not ten minutes ago. Sam looked around the room she was in for the first time. It was really nice. There was a Japanese style fan hanging just above the bed and pictures all along the wall of Bella and what appeared to be her friends.

Finally after about an hour of observing the room and committing it to memory she turned off the light and fell asleep feeling happier and safer then she had ever felt before.

Bella lay on the couch pondering the nights events. ‘I’m such a friggen idiot! I almost kissed her! Oh my gosh she would have never forgiving me if…. Way to go Bella way to almost mess things up…. Fuck. Well at least I caught myself this time. Unlike last time . But at least she safe right. Ya from her brother but not from you! But she is safe that’s the MAIN concern here.’ She argued with herself like that until she finally fell asleep.

Hmmm the chapter is shorter then I intended im really sorry if I've let you down. But I'm writing more soon I promise. It has been such a busy day for me. I got my braces off today! Whoohoo! And tomorrow I get my retainer. funfun right? Anyways I PROMISE I will update again soon. Hope you injoyed what I have presented you today. You know the rest of the drill.
