Enchantment
Co-written with Aya Frost
Thank you so much for the reviews. We are very happy that everyone is enjoying reading about Ruka and Daisuike. We are trying to keep the intrigue going along with the blossoming love story between our two boys. Much, much more awaits them and we hope you will stick around to see where things lead.
Things really start heating up between them now that they are alone, but is Suke ready?
Once inside Ruka looked around. It was a bit trashy looking but not so much so that he wanted to turn around and walk back out. There was nothing but a bare lobby and a wall with pictures of the various available rooms lit up. A few were dim being occupied. Taking Daisuike’s hand he led him over looking at them. Glancing over at the front desk which was only a frosted pane of glass with a small hole to pass cash and keys through, he sighed softly. He really wished he could take Daisuike to an upscale hotel, something he really deserved instead of this hole in the wall, but it couldn’t be helped. He didn’t want the police or whoever they were being able to track them.
"Anything look interesting? Don't bother caring about the price. It's cheap."
Daisuike was still trying to get his brain working again as he looked around the room that could be loosely termed a lobby. It was dimly lit and smelled of stale cigarettes and hastily applied cologne. He shook off the lingering shaky sensation; Ruka’s kisses seemed to affect him more and more each time. He shivered thinking about spending the night with him, or even the next couple of days if Ruka didn't get sick of being around him.
"Eto, I don't have a preference. Do any of them have a kitchenette?"
"Hmm. . ." Looking around at them Ruka wasn't entirely sure. Finally spotting something that looked like it might, he picked it and moved to the counter putting money through the small slot. Taking the key he smiled at Daisuike leading him out and down the hall to the room.
His nerves were flaring up and he wasn't sure what he was going to do. He wanted to shove Daisuike against the wall but he knew he couldn't. As they got to the door he opened it stepping inside, the familiar smell of sanitizer hitting him. The room was actually quite nice. It looked like a small studio apartment, though he could tell that it was definitely designed for fantasy play. Shaking his head he headed inside and opened the fridge grinning as he saw some basic foods and beer. At least the manager had thought to supply that much.
"Perfect."
Daisuike wandered around the small room inspecting things. It was a little odd and reminded him a bit of the apartment he'd shared with Jiro and Haru after they'd moved out of their father's house. Seeing the small kitchen his eyes lit up.
"This is great! Now we don't have to go out to eat. I can cook for us . . ." He paused looking up at Ruka suddenly nervous. "Ano . . . I'm probably not going to be able to go home for a few days, you don't have to stay with me the whole time."
He looked away suddenly embarrassed. Why did the thought of spending so much time alone with Ruka make him so excited and uncertain at the same time?
Ruka smiled gently at Suke before walking to him and backing him up against the counter some. "I understand." Stroking his face he kissed him. Wrapping his arms around his waist he nuzzled his neck his breath soft against the flawless skin. He smiled feeling the slight tremor go through Daisuike.
"Would you like to stay with me for a few days then? I have a small place up in Kyoto we can go to. Or we can stay in your territory, I have places we can go and stay for a while. I also got some contacts and friends we can ask to crash at." He held him close not liking the idea of him being so stressed out and in danger. He wouldn't let anyone hurt him. Ever.
Daisuike sighed contentedly wrapping his arms around Ruka just holding him close. It amazed him that he still wanted to be around him, even help him, knowing that the cops were after him. Knowing what he was. Laying his head on Ruka's shoulder he basked in the comforting feel of being held. He'd never had anyone to help him deal with the stress before and he was very glad Ruka was there. Normally he would just go home and either work out or cook, neither of which ever really made him feel better. The feel of those strong arms around him gave him a sense of security that he’d never felt before. If he had he couldn’t remember it. Was it weak of him to want it?
"Thank you . . . for standing up for me. It means a lot. I'll probably go to one of our safe houses. I don't want to drag you any further into this than you already are." He reluctantly let Ruka go. "I've got to make some phone calls."
Ruka frowned as Daisuike let him go. He didn't want to let him go but he also knew he needed to sort things out. Leaning forward he brushed his lips against Daisuike's forehead before heading towards the bed laying on it yawning.
"Alright. Go make your phone calls." He then stretched sighing. Turning onto his back he looked at Daisuike, "But we'll talk more later about where you'll be staying once you're done."
Ruka wasn't about to let him go alone anywhere. There was an urgent need inside him to protect Daisuike and that was what he wanted to do and would do to the best of his ability.
Yawning again he stretched crawling under the covers. Once he was under he frowned and removed his rings and necklaces placing them on the nightstand next to the bed. His clothes were starting to bother him and he wanted out of them but didn't want to scare or bother Daisuike. A smile that was creeping into a smirk crossed his face.
Clothes could wait to be removed until later.
Daisuike couldn't help but pace the room as he made his phone calls. Hayate was understandably upset but they discussed what they could do about the situation. Daisuike then called Jiro but only got his voicemail. Trying Haru he told him what was going on and asked him to take Akira and stay somewhere else for a while. Haru was not very happy and it scared him to think about his volatile brother being entrusted with the sensitive youngest. Hopefully Haru calmed down before Akira got home from practice. Daisuike figured Akira would want to go stay with Reiko until things settled down. He had no idea where Haru would go, probably stay at the bar or a hotel.
It was really frustrating him that the cops still seemed to think they were involved in smuggling. He knew they weren't, but there was plenty of other stuff they could find out if they started doing much digging.
After an hour he'd finally got everyone informed and made sure plans were in the works just in case. Sighing he flopped down on the couch finally removing his shoes. He'd been able to keep his mind off the pain, but now it was making itself known with a vengeance his breath hitching slightly. Chad had hit him more times than he really thought was necessary considering he’d cooperated. He hadn’t been hit that hard in a while.
"I'm going to go soak for a bit." He glanced at Ruka where he lay on the bed. Grabbing several bills out of his wallet he laid them on the table. "Go ahead and order something to eat if you want."
Ruka raised an eyebrow at the money Daisuike placed down then rolled his eyes flipping his phone out as Daisuike headed to the bathroom. Once the food was ordered he smiled getting an idea. Heading towards the bathroom he stripped, casually laying his clothes on the sink.
He wasn't entirely interested in sex, especially since Daisuike was hurt, but he wanted to make him feel good. Seeing Daisuike with his head back against the tub he coughed to get his attention moving so that he didn't scare him. Even so he got a startled look that quickly turned into a blush, dark eyes quickly hidden behind a curtain of dark lashes. It was such a difference from the earlier tough guy that it was almost amusing. Smiling he eased into the tub sliding down behind Daisuike so that his back was to Ruka's chest.
Brushing his lips against his ear he smiled, "Don't worry. I'll take care of you."
At first Daisuike was shocked as Ruka climbed into the tub with him not sure what to do. His apprehension soon faded as Ruka just sat there, not touching him anymore than where Daisuike was leaning against him. He soon found himself just enjoying leaning against him, the feel of another warm body oddly comforting. Ruka was very well built and obviously took very good care of himself. Feeling the smooth toned chest against his back gave Daisuike chills even though the water was almost uncomfortably warm.
"Thank you." His voice was soft and he leaned his head back against Ruka closing his eyes. It was a bit bewildering how completely safe and at ease he felt with Ruka. It was such an unusual feeling and he didn’t want it to go away.
Ruka smiled as he reached out for a cloth and lathered it up. He started to gently clean Daisuike taking extra care of his cuts and bruises. There were more bruises than he’d realized and it made him ache to think he’d been injured. He took special care running the cloth lightly over his chest and shoulders. He didn't want to hurt him but he wanted to pamper him some. Ruka wondered if incidents like tonight were normal in Daisuike's life and the thought bothered him a little. He didn't want him to be in so much pain and suffer so much.
Kissing Daisuike’s neck gently he smiled almost embarrassed feeling himself starting to get bit hard. "Sorry, I don't mean for us to do anything, but you're so incredibly sexy that my body just reacts."
Unsure what to do or how to respond, Daisuike kept quiet. He so rarely got complemented on anything other than his work, so it was difficult for him to know how to take. That and he could feel Ruka against his lower back and wasn't sure why the sensation was sending little shocks all through him. He tried to focus on something else.
The last time anyone had helped him wash, he'd been seven and Jiro had given him a bath. It had been after one of Chiyo's parties when she'd gotten mad at him and had beaten him with a broom handle. She'd actually broke it over him that time. Just the memory was enough to cause anger to start trying to come up. He forced himself to relax. He wasn't going to let some stupid memory ruin the making of a new one. A very nice one too.
Ruka was so gentle, so unlike anyone he'd ever known, he couldn't help but be drawn to the man. He shifted a bit trying to get more comfortable. He was getting very tired, Ruka's washing him helping him to relax and not feel quite as sore. Leaning his head back he looked up at him still not completely sure why he would even want to be around him. Especially after everything that had happened.
Ruka smiled at Daisuike then noticed how he was staring at him. There was something in his eyes and it made him unsure. How could a look hold so much pain and fear? It was so different from the confident, dangerous man he'd seen in the alley. It made him want to hold on tight and never let go. Slipping his arms more around Daisuike, Ruka grinned at him kissing his forehead.
"Stop thinking. It's going to make your head hurt." He kept his words soft slipping his hand down lower from Daisuike’s waist. If Daisuike let him Ruka would do everything in his power to make him feel good and not think too much.
"May I?" He brushed his lips close to his ear, "Allow me to make you feel good."
Daisuike tensed for a moment as Ruka's hand slipped lower, not sure what he was doing. He looked back up at him seeing the smile and it reassured him somewhat, but he still wasn't sure. He reached down taking Ruka's hand and pulling it back up.
"You are already making me feel good, Ruka."
Ruka's smile faltered for a second but he just nodded.
"Alright. Do you want me to leave you alone to soak longer?"
Not letting the disappointment show on his face, Ruka kept his smile in place just enjoying what they had. If he was pushing him too far he'd slow down. The last thing he wanted was to push him and rush him into something he didn't want.
"No, this is really nice. Thank you." Daisuike closed his eyes again, just relaxing. He could tell Ruka was disappointed, but he wasn't quite ready to go that far just yet. Just being in the tub with him was more intimate than he'd ever been with anyone.
Before he realized it he was drifting to sleep. The warmth of the water along with the secure feeling he got from Ruka lulling him. He shook himself, sitting up and turning so that he could face Ruka.
"Ano . . . I'm sorry. I guess I'm a lot more tired than I thought."
"That's fine. I think we're turning into prunes anyways." He grinned, standing up slowly helping Daisuike out. Reaching for a towel he wrapped it around his waist, then grabbed another drying Daisuike off. He took his time, being careful of the bruises. The last thing he wanted was to hurt him even more than he was. It also gave him a chance to fully appreciate the body before him. The tattoo’s seemed to enhance his natural appeal, contouring around his defined chest and shoulders. The dragon was beautifully done in a more modern style while the tiger on his back was very traditional. He found it very interesting that Daisuike had chosen the two. It said a lot about him that he had both and not just one or the other. There were several old scars as well and he made sure to note each one. He tried not to stare too much realizing that it was starting to make Daisuike uncomfortable. He was just too beautiful, from the damp hair clinging to his neck to the slender hips and well muscled legs and every detail in between.
Smiling he handed Daisuike his pants and moved to dry himself off. Once everything was ready he led him to the bed pulling the covers back for him.
"Come on. Let's get some sleep. We can figure more stuff out later."
Daisuike watched Ruka, hesitant wondering if he was making the right decision. He was so tired now but he wanted to do something to show Ruka how much he appreciated him. Walking up to him he took his arm pulling him close. He smiled before kissing him. It was amazing to kiss him, to feel those warm soft lips against his and the way his whole body seemed to heat up just from the touch.
Ruka blinked in a surprise as he felt Daisuike’s lips against his. It was shocking to say the least, being the first time Daisuike had initiated anything. It was nice though. Very too. Too nice. He could barely contain himself from pushing him back onto the bed and running his fingers across that amazing body.
Slowly breaking the kiss he smiled more. Taking a shuddering breath he led Daisuike to the bed sighing contently as he laid down next to him.
"Would you mind me sleeping with you? I probably could get a futon if it would be more comfortable for you to sleep alone."
"This is fine." Daisuike smiled softly at him, suddenly nervous and little unsure. He looked away not sure why his heart seemed to be racing. "I like having you close."
Shifting around so that he was laying on his stomach like normal, Daisuike watched Ruka. He was so beautiful and the more Daisuike got to know him, the more beautiful he became. No one outside of his family or clan members had ever acted as though his life mattered, that he mattered.
Ruka smiled turning onto his side to look at Daisuike. Unable to help himself, he reached out stroking Suke's cheek.
"I like having you near me as well. It's why I want you to stay with me while you're unable to go home." He smiled playfully, "That and you're too damn beautiful for your own good. If I didn't respect you, I would've jumped you a long time ago."
Daisuike blinked, a bit surprised but also not. He thought for a moment. "It might be dangerous for me to be with you Ruka. It's obvious that you know how to handle yourself, but now that the Fudoka know that the cops are after me . . . things could get a bit tense."
He sighed laying his head on the pillow. Reaching up he ran his fingers down the smooth skin along Ruka's side intrigued at how just touching him sent tingles down his arm.
"I cannot let you get hurt Ruka. I'd kill anyone who tried to." He looked at Ruka alarmed that he'd let something like that slip, but he wasn't lying. Then he suddenly remembered. "Shit! I left my knife in that alley! Damn it, that was one of my favorites too."
Ruka laughed, really laughed. Daisuike was just too damn amusing sometimes. Even if he was obviously dangerous and a criminal, he didn't care. Not one bit. Shivering from Daisuike's fingers he took the hand and brought it to his lips kissing the tips gently.
"I know you don't want me being hurt, but I don't want you hurt either. If there is anything I can do, just ask it. If you'd like I can buy you some new knives. Any kind you'd like too."
Daisuike shivered as Ruka kissed his fingers. He smiled shifting closer to him so that they were facing each other, but not quite touching. It still puzzled him that he felt so comfortable with the man, but he wasn't going to question it just yet.
"Don't worry about that Ruka. I have over a hundred knives at home. That one just happened to be very easy to conceal, it was a bitch to sharpen though." He frowned thinking. "It was my fault our evening got ruined wasn't it?"
"I don't mind. I got to take you to a Love Hotel because of it, didn't I?" Ruka grinned leaning closer and kissing him softly on the lips. His body was nearly shaking with desire but he would keep himself in check. He wouldn't push anything onto Daisuike, he liked him too much.
Leaning back he stretched out some laying his head on his arm under his head. Touching Daisuike’s face he brushed some hair away from his eyes. With a smile he closed his eyes relaxing more.
"I just like being around you. Doesn't matter what's going on."
Daisuike chuckled softly a slightly mischievous glint in his eyes, "You might change your mind about that if you ever saw me at work. Which you won't. Ever. Ano . . . Ruka? I know this is a bit off topic, but . . . can we go to the grocery store? I'm actually getting really hungry all the sudden. Or did you order food?"
Ruka smiled a bit opening one of his eyes looking at Daisuike. He was damn cute the way he was looking at him and he wanted to pounce him so bad. That look made him seem younger, the earlier maturity from facing off with the police fading a bit. Sighing he smirked.
"I did order food. I didn’t think going out would be a good idea." Yawning he flipped over pulling his phone out to look at the time. “It should be here in a bit.”
Daisuike sighed, Ruka was right about going out not being a good idea. He just hated restaurant food. He looked over as his phone rang. "Sorry. Hang on."
It was Jiro. Daisuike sat up in the bed. "Jiro! Where are-. No I'm fine. I'm with Ruka. Yes. Jiro!" Daisuike hadn't realized that Jiro had caught on so fast about Ruka he could feel his face burning and was glad Jiro couldn't see him. "If you think so. Okay, I'll tell him. Ja ne."
He turned back to Ruka a slight blush still on his cheeks. "Jiro wanted to say hi and that he fully approves of you and-and that my staying with you would be for the best."
Ruka laughed softly loving that Suke was blushing. It was adorable and he wanted nothing more than to kiss him. Twisting the blanket some he smiled.
"I'm glad I got his approval, though I don't think I would've stopped myself even if he didn't, but I'm glad I do have it." Reaching over Ruka tugged him a bit closer playing with his hair. "And I'll only have you stay with me if that's what you want."
Daisuike looked up at him and couldn't help the smile. "Of course I do. I just don't want to inconvenience you. I know you've got your own life and it's not fair of me to disrupt it for my own selfish needs."
He turned so that he was facing Ruka the look in his eyes suddenly somber. "I want to be with you Ruka. Just the thought of not being near you . . . " He shook his head not sure how to put into words what he was feeling. The strange hollow coldness that seemed to sharpen when he thought about having to leave. Was this what Jiro had meant when he'd told him that sometimes the heart knows what the mind can't understand? He glanced up at Ruka hoping that what he was going to say didn't sound stupid. "I'm just not . . . all of my experience has to do with pain. I have no idea how to please someone, not the way you probably want anyway."
God, was Daisuike trying to kill him? Ruka wanted to groan. The innocent naiveté of this man was making his body burn. All sorts of thoughts and ideas were running through his head and he had to put a stop to them. It would be too easy to take advantage and he wasn't going to do that. He'd never imagined he would meet someone like Daisuike. He wasn't like anyone he'd ever met before, he was like night and day, dangerous and vulnerable; decisive yet hesitant; hard but also tender. Ruka suddenly realized that his tattoos matched who he was perfectly. The sun, the dragon, the masculine part was what everyone saw, it was the tiger, the moon, the yin that was what was inside. He stared into those dark almost fathomless eyes and wondered if Daisuike himself realized it.
With a shaky hand he touched Daisuike's head lightly, "Then I guess we'll just have to get you more familiar with it, ne? I don't mind teaching you. Life's a lesson and that's just how it is. We learn as we grow."
Ruka finally couldn't contain himself any longer, gently pushing Daisuike back against the bed kissing him.
"I'm willing to be patient. . ."

"I'm willing to be patient. . ."
