Prove Your Love

Davis arrived back at his village by mid-afternoon. He knew he had to get the fertilizer and seeds for Andrin, but he also knew that he had to stop by his house. First, he stopped by the village stable and dropped of the horse. The stable master was furious about having his horse out for three days. Davis told him he was sorry and paid the stable master a thousand reds for the trouble. The stable master didn’t say after he paid him, and Davis wondered off back to his home. It was a windy day so he held the cape Andrin gave to him tight around his body, pulling the hood that was attached to it as he walked off.

“DAVIS!” his mother sobbed, seeing her son come through the door of their home. She got off from the table and ran over to her son, hugging him close to her breasts and squeezed him tighter by the second. “Where were you?” she then yelled, pulling him out of her embraced. “And where did you get this cape?” she saw the navy blue cape Andrin had tied around his shoulders.

“I got lost.” Davis told her, telling her the same lie that he told his grandfather months before. “Sorry if I worried you.”

“You didn’t get lost!” Davis heard his grandfather yelled from the hallway. He looked pasted his mother and saw his mother’s father coming down the hall. He sighed and pulled away from his mom, leaning up against the kitchen sink. “So don’t lie.” he said, waving his cane at his grandson.

“Dad, don’t say such things.” his daughter argued with him.

“Come now, don’t take his side Mary. He has been out with THAT beast.”

“What beast?” Mary asked, looking from her father to her son.

“You’re crazy old man.” Davis spat, acting like the teenager he was.

“I am not crazy! I know for the past three days you have been sleeping with Andrin, the Furry King.”

“WHAT?” Mary gasped, looking at her son.

‘I only slept with him once.’ Davis thought. “Like I said.” Davis protest. “You are crazy. I was lost in the woods. Where’s your proof?”

“You are wearing it.” his grandfather said, pointing to the cape he was hearing.

‘Crap.’ his mind gasped out. He looked down at the cape and thought it looked like any other cape. But when his grandfather said to turn around, he saw Andrin’s royal creast. “Double crap.’ his mind gasped again and he let out a frustration sigh.

“You see, that’s proof that you have been sleeping with him. The king doesn’t give out his cape to anymore.”

“This is Andrin’s cape?” Davis gasped. He had no idea that he was wearing Andrin’s cape.

“Like you didn’t know.”

“Davis.” his mother gasped, pulling the cape out to see the creast. It was imprinted inside the fabric, and in a deeper color blue then the rest of the cape. For the creast itself, it was two wolves facing each other, and a crown right between them on top. Both wolves looked like they would attack anyone who came towards them, and almost looked like they were dragons (just add the wings).

“Take that off.” his grandfather spat at him.

“No!” Davis argued back with him.

“Take it off!” his grandfather yelled at him again. He then moved over to his grandson and, began to struggle with him to take off the cape.

“Let go!” Davis yelled, trying to cover the strings that held the cape in place as he tried to push his grandfather away. “Stop it…no!”

“Ha, ha!” his grandfather laughed, tearing the cape from his shoulders.

“Grandpa, give that back.”

“No. I will have nothing in this house that has ties to that KING and his people.” he said this as he walked over to the fireplace, a fire already burning strong. “Now I don’t want you to see that monster every again. He is nothing but trouble.” he then threw the cape into the mouth of the fire, causing Davis to run over to the pit and tried to pull it out. “You will thank me for this when you are older.” his grandfather sighed, watching the cape burn.

“You’re the one who’s the monster.” Davis spat. He stood up in anger and kicked his grandfather’s cane from under him, causing him to fall to the floor and hitting his head on the mantel.

“DAVIS!” Mary cried out. “Come back here!” her son raced down the small hallway, ignoring his mother’s demands and locked his bedroom door after he slammed it.

Davis yelled in frustration, throwing his things around the room and destroying his room from top to bottom. After he thrown his belongings around, he went for his bed and tipped that over as well. After that, he tossed his desk chair towards the window, braking both the window and the chair. His breath was heavy and horsed as he slowly settled down. He let out a low sigh and sank down next to his turned bed, sobbing out loud as he thought of the furry king. He didn’t want to believe what his grandfather told him, thinking that it wasn’t true. But as he thought about it more, the more he debate on if he could trust the furry.

‘Of course I can trust him.’ he thought, looking out of his broken window. ‘He told me he loves me.’ but then he thought about what his grandfather told him, that they were lustful creatures. That they could deceive people, and trick mortals into believing that they were in love. He began to sob even more as he was exercising mix emotions. He was so confused about his feelings, that he took up a small piece of broken glass and cut himself. The pain felt so good as it rushed through his arm and down his body. He smiled as he saw blood drop from his self inflicting cut, and started to laugh. He had cried so much that fifteen minutes later, he fell asleep against his broken bed and the piece of glass still in his hands.

He groaned out as he felt pecking on his face. He moaned out as he swatted whatever was pecking him away, but it didn’t go away. “What?” he groaned out, opening his eyes and seeing a bird in his room. He sat up, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes and noticing that the bird was a carrying pigeon. Picking the bird up, he took the small piece of paper out of the holder and unrolled it. He somewhat smiled as he saw it was from Kadin, and he knew that Andrin was worried.

“Davis, where are you?” the letter began, reading it in his mind. “Andrin is worried, and is threatening to send out the guards to find you. Kadin.”

Davis quickly ran through his room to find a blank piece of paper and pen. Once he found one, he began to write his response and placed it in the tiny holder. “Don’t worry.” he wrote back. “Will be back tomorrow afternoon.” He sighed once the pigeon flew off, and started to wonder what Andrin was doing right now.

~Back at the willow tree~

Tonight was a court night. And just like always, Andrin was sitting on his throne. But he wasn’t in the mood for any of the courts festivities. Like always, everyone was in their groups, talking, dancing, and fucking. But Andrin didn’t want to be a part of any of it. He sighed as he took out his pocket watch, he looked at the time and sighed again and left his court and throne. He had other things on his mind and left to go clear his head at the watering hole. No one would be there, so he took this opportunity to have the bathing area to himself.

“Where is your mortal lover?” Jaxon asked. He Sinan and Conan were huddled near the hallway Andrin usually took, a smile on all their faces. “It’s been a day and he still hasn’t come back yet.”

“Shut up!” Andrin growled at them, giving them a nasty glare. “Davis will be back tomorrow.”

The three furries laughed and walked off, leaving their king alone to take his bath.

Andin sighed as he sank his body down into the warm liquid. He like the fact that no one was there, and he began to think about Davis. He didn’t know if he would returned, and he vowed that if he would not return by tomorrow at sunset, he would go out and search for him himself. As he leaned up against the edge, he heard the door open and he turned to see who it was. He smiled lightly as he saw Kadin walk through the door. He bowed at the waist and Andrin allowed him to come in. He knew that he had sent a carrying pigeon out, but he didn’t know who. However, he knew deep in his gut that he sent it off to Davis. He stared up at his friend, giving him a look as to “What do you what?” and Kadin gave him a small reply to the letter he set out. He took it and read it quickly, smiling as he saw that Davis would return the next day.

“Thank you.” he smiled up at Kadin. Kadin smiled down at his king, bowing at the waist again before he left. Andrin let out a content sigh as he looked up at the ceiling, wishing now that Davis was at his side instead of the next night.

~The next morning~

Davis walked around the village market as quickly as possible. He has snuck out of the house at four-thirty, taking what was left of the burnt cape from the fireplace as he did. He didn’t want to stay at his grandfather’s house any more; he wanted to get the hell out of there and far away from the village as he could. But before he could run away, he had to buy the supplies that Andrin wanted him to get. He was able to get everything at one place, but it was too much for him to carry. So he bought the horse he rented out from the village stable and a mule to help carry the supplies and with the crops. He didn’t know if buying the mule would be affective to the furries, so he thought he would just use it and help with the crops. Once he bought everything and packed everything onto the two animals, he mounted his horse again and set off towards his new home.

“Davis!” Andrin smiled as he saw his lover coming up from beyond the hill. He his smile got bigger as he rushed over to him, his four paws on the ground just like a regular wolf. Davis cried out as he was tackled by the furry, and grunted as he hit the ground. “Sorry.” Andrin said in shock, realizing what he was doing. He couldn’t control himself when he saw the mortal, but this was the first time that he was in love.

“It’s okay.” Davis grunted as Andrin helped him up.

He groaned out as Andrin pulled him into his chest. Andrin didn’t want Davis to go and he lifted his head and placed a hard kiss over Davis’s lips. Davis gasped out, having Andrin caught him in mid-gasp and plunged his tongue as far as he could down his throat. Davis moaned as Andrin started to twirl his tongue around his, but what his grandfather said about furries stuck in his head. He needed to see if Andrin really loved him, and he pushed the furry away from him.

“What’s wrong?” Andrin asked, looking down at the mortal.

“Nothing, I am just tired.” Davis lied. However, it was somewhat true. He couldn’t fall back to sleep after the pigeon left, so he was a bit tired from last night.

“I’m sure you are. Why don’t you let my servants unpack the supplies, while you can go and lie down.” Andrin’s smile weakened, but it was still strong as he stroked his claws through Davis’s hair.

“No,” Davis said, brushing the wolf’s hand off his head. “I will just go and over see the crop planting.” he smiled and went to take his donkey over to the fields to help plant the new seeds.

Andrin’s face fell as he watched Davis walk back out into the open air, taking the donkey that he bought with him. He wanted to ask what was wrong with him, but Davis was too out of reach and had left for the fields. After a moment of standing in the doorway of the stables he let out a sigh, and knew that it was for the best to just leave him alone.

Davis sighed as he leaned his head up against a tree near-by the fields. He was able to do plow about half the fields, but fatigue sat in and he had to take the rest of the day off. He wanted to be more of a help, but the furries that he was helping said he did enough. So all that he could sit back and watch the furries revive their crops. He smiled as he though to himself that he did good, and settled down to take a small nap. He had just fallen asleep when he started to feel something tugging at his shirttail. He groaned as he woke and saw Kadin’s youngest cub, Leon, with his shirt on his mouth. He smiled wearyingly and Leon started to shake it in his mouth, just trying to get the mortal up from his nap. Davis yawned and pulled his shirt out of Leon’s mouth, and the cub started to run in circles and giving off little roars. Davis laughed and just sat under the tree, if he had the strength he would join the cub in his play, but he was too tired. Soon after Leon started to roar and run in circles, Davis saw his father coming up behind him.

“Welcome back.” he said to Davis, joining him under the tree. “You okay?”

“I’m fine.” Davis replied. “I am just tired, that’s all.”

“Okay. So you pulled through for us. Andrin and the whole kingdom are really grateful towards you.”

“All except for the inner court.” Davis sighed, stroking his son’s small mane. Davis’s was not the only one tired, Leon was also tired out from all that running, that he sank down into his lap.

“Don’t mind them. They don’t agree on everything that Andrin does.”

“I could see that at the meeting. They don’t like that me either.”

Kadin laughed and shook his head. “Well, Jaxon, Sinan, and Conan live by the book. They think that Andrin should rule like his father and brother did. But they don’t understand that Andrin is still a cub himself.”

“He’s not a cub.” Davis argued.

“Well, he might not be physically.” Kadin replied. “But he is a cub at heart. One thing that Andrin wants is for everyone in his kingdom, furries and skinwalkers alike, to live a healthy and equal lifestyle. But people like the Canon and such don’t think everyone should stay in their own classes.”

“Do you think that everyone should live equally?” Davis asked, continuing to stroke his son’s fur as he slept in his lap.

“I think so. In fact.” Kadin continued. “I think all of his majesty’s ideas are brilliant.”

“What’s another one?”

“One of the best idea’s he had, is to come up with a peace treaty with King Louie. You see, the mortals and furries have been fighting for many centuries.”

“Even before the great war?” Davis asked.

“Yes. But, Andrin thinks he has a way of coming to peace terms with your king. You see, Andrin would like to start trading with the mortals, but Andrin has been having some trouble with talking with the Louie.”

Davis stayed quiet as he listened to what ideas and plans that Andrin had. And the more that he talked about the war between the humans and furries, he could understand a little why his grandfather wouldn’t allow him to fall in love with such a person. He had been brought up by hating the creatures, and now that Davis thought about it. The more he thought about the bear his grandfather had in his study, and thinking that that creature might be a furry. Kadin talked about three more of Andrin’s ideas and Davis picked the ones that he might be able to help with. They both laughed at a few ideas that Andrin had, thinking that they were funny, but still great ideas. The two men had been so caught up with their conversation about Andrin; they forgot the time and ended up talking well into the early night. It was Kadin who realized what time it was, and he picked up his son and headed back towards his family. Davis walked beside the lion, saying nothing. He had a nice time talking with Kadin, but now he had to face Andrin and confront him about his emotions for him. He needed to know if Andrin was truly in love with him or not.

When he arrived back at Andrin’s chambers, he saw that he was not there. He then began to search around the whole underground for the king furry. As he looked, he asked some of his court members and servants if they saw him, but they all had the same answer. The last place that Davis searched was the stables. He had a feeling that Andrin was in here, and he began to call out his name.

“Andrin!” he called out, looking around the stable.

“Up here.” he heard Andrin’s voice above him. Davis looked up and saw the stable’s hayloft. He sighed and began to climb the latter up to the loft. As he climbed, the latter cracked and bended by his weight. And as he climbed, Davis started to get an idea about how Andrin could prove his love. “Feel more refresh?” Andrin asked, seeing him coming up the latter.

“Not really. AH!”

“DAVIS!” Andrin gasped, seeing the latter brake for Davis’s weight and split into two peaces. Davis yelled as the latter broke from under him, and hung on to dear life by the baseboards. “Hang on!” Andrin cried, jumping over towards Davis. He grabbed his wrists and tried to pull his up, but with no progress.

“Pull me up!” Davis yelled. He was loosing his grasp and he didn’t know how long he could hold on any more. Andrin was able to grab a hold of his hands, but Davis’s hands were too sweaty and would slip from his grasp. Davis also tried to pull himself up, but he didn’t really have upper body strength and would fall. “Andrin!” Davis cried. He had just tried to pull himself up for the second time, but he couldn’t pull up and he lost one grip of his hand. He was now hanging off the hayloft with one hand.

Andrin knew now he had to work twice as hard to pull his love up. For a furry his strength would have been at full power, but he didn’t have the strength he had then what he used to have when he was young. “Give me your hand!” Andrin yelled, reaching out for Davis’s free hand that was hanging at his side. Davis nodded and swung his hand up so Andrin could pull him up. But as he did, he lost his grasp on the boards and yelled as he began to fall to the ground. Now the fall was not high enough to kill him. But the loft was about ten feet up, so all that Davis’s could have gotten was a broke leg. And with the limited medical supplies they had, he didn’t know if he could take care of his injuries. Still, Andrin didn’t want anything to happen to Davis. As Davis began to fall, he reached out and tried to catch his hand before he was out of reach.
