Epilogue
-x-x-x-x-x-
A few short weeks later we were sitting outside the café in Paris that Drago had often visited during his short stay here. Yuya was sitting across from me sipping hot chocolate, having admitting that he actually detested the taste of coffee and that the only reason he had drank it before was because Drago had liked it. That was certainly saying something about how in character he got when he was performing with these personas.
His hair was black again, like Ryu and Tatsuo’s, but shorter than Drago’s had been. He had also went back to being Japanese and had kept the green eyes that I loved so much. Looking him over I realized that he didn’t really look like either of the two brothers, but that was alright. He had created someone uniquely his own; he had created Yuya.
And Yuya was much better than the three of them anyway. I didn’t want to be with another persona, I wanted to be with Yuya and that is what he gave me. Though admittedly I wouldn’t be averse to one of his personas visiting for a while; Ryu, Tatsuo, and Drago had all been pretty hot after all.
After having left the temple the first thing Yuya did was ‘buy’ me some new clothes with his mind altering powers or whatever he had. He had told me it was something called ‘mind weaving’ but even after hearing that I still confused as to how he did it. I supposed that it didn’t really matter though, because although he used it quite frequently he had never done so to actually harm anyone.
Once out of the attention grabbing robes I had had on, we rented a hotel room and there he had told me about his plans to change his appearance again. I didn’t really want to be shocked every time I saw at him, since he kept changing what he looked like, and therefore told him so. Hence why Yuya had come up with the appearance he had now; a mere combination of the three that I knew of.
I understood why he had changed again, I mean after fleeing Paris without mind weaving the staff into thinking he had paid, not to mention leaving all his stuff there, there had to be people looking for him. And although I was sure he could get out of whatever trouble he got into it still wasn’t something either of us wanted to deal with.
As for Paris, the reason we were back in it wasn’t really much of a reason at all. I merely wanted to go back to all the places Drago had visited while I could actually be seen and interact with the environment. Hell, I had even tried eating a few days ago and to both of our surprises I was actually able to do so. I was still technically a ghost but with the energy I received from Yuya I was able to have normal human functions again.
The energy, as we have seen thus far, came from his blood and whatever intimate contact we had. Our soul, just as Yuya had said, was connected and was only whole when together, and as long as he was healthy then so was I and vice versa. This, thankfully, could be maintained the human way; through food and drink.
Therefore Yuya no longer needed to consume human souls in order to survive. Since our souls were connected he could feed off of mine, and since I was his mate my soul had the strength it needed to survive this feeding. In fact it seemed to flourish under it and grew even stronger each time it happened. I didn’t know quite how it was able to do this, but it did, and there were some things I had learned just not to question anymore.
As for my body it was still as ‘solid’ as it had been at the temple only now it was more stable and I was even starting to get the hang of how to and how to not pass through things. It was still strange that it only needed Yuya’s energy to be maintained and that food really did nothing for it. Not that I thought it would since I was dead and this body wasn’t really my body, if that made any sense.
Either way, I was just glad that I was actually able to do things now, and even gladder that I could actually wear clothing again. The clothes, even the ones I was wearing now, were something I had let Yuya pick out and buy for me. Normally I hated letting other people dress me up but I was just so grateful that I didn’t have to walk around naked that it didn’t even bother me now.
Plus it was something that made him happy. And a happy Yuya was certainly better to be around than any other kind of Yuya, except maybe a lustful one.
Neither of us would ever be wanting for sex, that was for certain. We had it almost everyday and both of us thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
From all the lovers he had had over the years Yuya certainly knew what he was doing and I had ended up trying things I didn’t even think were possible, let alone felt good. It just made it all the more interesting though and I always looked foreword to what he would show me next.
As far as that line of thought went, ever since his confession, Yuya hadn’t lied to me, not once as far as I could tell. Every question I asked him he answered to the best of his ability and I was grateful for that. He didn’t have to tell me the truth after all, with his mind weaving ability he could get me to believe whatever he wanted but he had never used it against me. I don’t think he ever wanted to either.
In return I could only do the same for him and answer whatever he asked me. He had asked many things; about myself, my family and Kian, and even about humans in general. Little things like why it was humans thought that raising their pinky while drinking was polite. I still didn’t know the answer to that question though, but it didn’t really matter. Humans were weird anyway.
Yuya had also done something for me that had somehow made me love him more than I already did. Somehow, through whatever means he used, he was able to obtain a local newspaper from the city I had lived in. On the third page was an article about the U.C. Record Company taking off and booming with sales and in the middle of it, on the left hand side, was a picture of Kian with the title of C.E.O. and manager.
When I had last seen him Kian was merely a cashier, the job we had went out drinking to celebrate, and now he was the head of the company. I had wondered just how the hell this had happened until I saw Yuya’s mysterious smile. He had most definitely had something to do with this and although he wouldn’t tell me exactly what he did I had to guess that he had somehow made all of this happen for him.
In the article there was a little section about Kian and it said something about how he was planning on marrying Haruko before going on to talk about his recent success. I was happy for him, I really was, and I couldn’t tell you just how happy Yuya had made me for doing all of this. It was a great relief to know that Kian was doing alright and that he’d be okay.
As for the Karura, we haven’t seen him since the day at the temple but we knew he was out there. I didn’t want to say ‘watching us’ but he just might be. There weren’t many dragons left in the world after all, but as long as Yuya kept wearing that talisman he wouldn’t be able to touch us.
Yuya finished his drink and smiled at me before getting up to throw his cup away. When he returned he offer me his hand and I took it. Leaving the café we headed back down the buzzing streets, walking towards the hotel or whatever place caught our fancy. It didn’t matter as long as I was with Yuya.
I had the protection and love of a dragon and so I had nothing to fear anymore. Yuya would take care of me and I would take care of him. It was amazing the amount of trust we put into each other, but somehow it had happened and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Author’s Note: This the end, for real this time. This is it and I’m not planning on writing anymore, not about them at least. Thank you, readers, for all of your reviews and especially for the ones that I can’t answer to now. I hoped you enjoyed it!

Gslinger: It’s alright. Sometimes I ‘hear’ things that aren’t there too. And the story has to end sometime; I can’t follow them around forever, so it might as well end now.
cobraqueen: Really? Which one? I’ve seen a lot of him and nothing comes to mind at the moment.
Distant Raen: Thanks for the review. I always ask people to tell me about errors but they never do, so thanks!
