Part 7: On Defense

“I should talk to him; it’s been 3 days since the crash.” Ted’s mother said worriedly as she looked to the closed door of Ted’s bedroom.

“He needs to work it out on his own. Don’t worry he has Lindsey, the Tonys, and Jessica to help him, them, through it.” Said his father, wrapping her arm around his wife and holding her close.

“But they were all in the crash, almost killed. They need an outside party.” The older woman said with concern in her voice.

“No, they don’t, the last thing they need is some outside party with no reference point telling them to ‘get over it.’ The 5 of them have each other; they are their own support group. All we can do is stand back, lent them work through it and offer our emotional support if they hit a rough spot.”

Later in the park, at the gangs secret training spot. Ted stands waiting, his hands shaking as he looks down past the orb at them. The others had yet to arrive giving him plenty of time to think.

“They were right…” his thoughts drifted to that line once more. The 7th time in 3 days he found himself thinking about it. “They were right, oh god. I used Toni to shut up Tony and blew off Lindsey and Jesse but they were right. There are other mages, and they will kill to get my orb.”

Memories flooded into Ted’s mind as he reached for the fanny pack with trembling hands, “He had wolf girls, my catgirls are transformed people, and did he transform some of my friends to make them? If I could he probably could, if I could influence minds he could brain wash them. If I had taken my training seriously would I have sensed him? Stopped him before…”

“Hey, you ok bro?” It was Jessica’s voice.

Broken out of his daze Ted turned to see the trio of Toni, Jessica and Lindsey standing behind him waiting, each in catgirl form. Jessica moved over to her brother and held him close, he felt strength in her bosom and his body relaxed some.

“Summer break should hit next week, why don’t you take this week off. I’m sure the faculty won’t object. Get yourself some rest then go and unwind during the break.”

“May…maybe I will.” Ted responded “T…thanks.”

“So back to training?” Lindsey asked, a cold shiver in her voice. “Or is there something else, he’s still out there.”

“Here!” Ted said briskly, unclipping the pack and thrusting it into Toni’s hands. Silently the tiger girl opened it and drew out a handful of…cards?

“What?”

“I got the idea from some of your better half’s animes. We don’t know when He will strike, we are far from prepared. So I wrote some effects into these cards, tear the card and a one time effect is unleashed on the target you think of. I’m not good enough to make reusable cards but with this we should have an edge.”

The girls nodded, Toni divided the thick deck in the back into 3 smaller packs of 20 cards, giving a set to each girl who stowed the cards in their pockets. A silence fell over the group for a few moments then, not sure how to proceed, Ted was the one with the power, he needed to get real training, Toni was his familiar. They all knew this.

Finally Jessica coughed breaking the silence, “Ok, so I have the cardboard just beyond the bush.”

Ted’s voice cracked as he looked at the girls “Right, n…now I want you to all to try and keep your balance and to distract me. I’m going to try and keep the boards moving under you ok?”

The 3 nodded silently.

“Before we begin….” Jessica added “I want you to make me into a full catgirl like Toni…well not exactly like Toni, more of a morph like Lindsey.”

Ted nodded mutely “Are you sure?”

She nodded.

“Actually now that you mention it I have a couple requests.” Lindsey added, she moved over to Ted and whispered into his ear. His face going wide.

“Why do you want that?”

Lindsey flustered, “Can you do it?”

Ted nodded, “I…I think so…but after Jesse, and after we train.”

Lindsey nodded.

The mage boy hovered over the city, his gaze watching, his form invisible as Hawke and the wolf girls hovered beside him. “Rookie mistake, I played with him to much, gave him too many openings. I should have crushed him. Now he will train. I need to kill him fast. And I need to remove his allies from the equation.”

Lindsey was crouched on the floor of the stall panting, her tail thumping against he ground rhythmically, and her breath was slow and shallow. One of her paw held her up while the other one, balled into a fist, pumped in and out of her pussy, swollen, and throbbing and red the furry orifice sent waves of release through her with each pump. Her eyes drawn to the small silver house key at her feet she slowly pulled out. Dropping her other paw on the ground as she pushed herself up to her feet and returned to human form. Shaking and unsteady she got dressed, grabbed the key and quickly got washed up. Exiting the restroom the PA blared alerting her that the zoo was closing soon. She picked up her pace until she was at the Cheetah exhibit. Staring into the enclosure her heart began to pound. Her gaze drifting back to the key in her hand as she worked her way around the enclosure until she came to the locked door. Her hand trembled as she slipped the key in. It fit, in a quick turn she turned it, snapping the key off in the lock as she quickly shifted to her hybrid form and rendered her clothes to scraps at her feet as she slipped inside and pulled the door closed waiting for it to click. She changed again until she was indistinguishable from any other cheetah as she made her way into the main den. Hr body shook as one of the male rose up and padded toward her. She kept her head low as he sniffed her flanks and she reciprocated. After a moment she felt a weight on her back, and then she felt something penetrate her. A long roar of release escaped her muzzle as the male thrusted into her. A long bottled pressure releasing in waves of pain and pleasure.

The zoo masters have some trouble getting the broken key out of the lock and were even more confused by the addition of a new female to the habitat. As Lindsey slept them used tranquilizers to sedate her, Lindsey didn’t care as blood was taken and a tag clipped to her ear before she was returned to the habitat.

For the past week Lindsey had gone missing, the gang growing worried that the mage had done something to her. They were gathered in the woods training when all hell broke loose. The mage boy was back to finish the job.

“What have you done with Lindsey?” Ted shouted as Toni and Jessica, now bearing a form similar to Lindsey or Toni, drew their deck of cards.

“What Lindsey has done was none of my doing, but her removal from the picture is to my benefit. Sic um girls! Hawke, kill!”

The red world flew toward Jessica while the gold one rushed Toni, the girls bore their fangs and moved to intercept. Hawke dived for Ted. There was a swift rush of air as Ted’s orb glowed and he swept his arm out in a wide arc. A wall of force slammed into the hawk familiar sending it tumbling through the tree line.

As the gold wolf girl lunged Toni tore a card wit ha picture of a translucent barrier repelling a shadowy attacker. The gold wolf slammed into the instantaneous barrier and dropped to the ground. Toni tore another card with the picture of 3 metal talons on it, instantly her hands were wrapped in steel clawed gauntlets. She hammered the golden wolf girl before recovering to her feet and hammering it wit ha follow up roundhouse kick. The wolf girl growled and rolled getting to her feet as she lunged again only to glance off of Toni on impact as the tiger girl tore a card that looked like two shadows clashing. The golden wolf didn’t get back up as Toni came in from above and pounded her with twin metal fists.

The red wolf girl faced a similar fate to the gold one but by different means. As the red wolf lunged Jessica tore a cared of an arm wreathed in a dragon made of flame. The effect came to life wrapping a hissing dragon of fire around her arm as she counter with a devastating upper cut that sent the red wolf flying. Recovering in the air the red wolf girl wasn’t given a moment to counter attack. Whereas Toni preferred to block and counter Jessica preferred to take offense. During the week that the 3 girls had been given their cards they had traded among each other until their decks complemented their play styles. A new card was torn, lighting arching across Jessica’s body just as in the card as she back flipped and caught the red wolf girl in a summersault kick that sent jolts of electric fire through her body. Jessica’s legs stretched out like a piston as she tore a new card, the Red wolf girl smashed into the tree line but still had some fight left in her. Jessica tore a final card and the red wolf girl slumped to the ground as a bolt of lighting hammered her from the clear blue heavens.

“Where is Lindsey? What did you do to her?” Ted demanded again.

“That foolish girl was her own undoing. I imagine now the rogue cheetah has been properly examined and they are planning to ship her off to a new zoo or back to the wild.”

The forest shook as twin walls of force met in the center, each mage furrowing his brow to get the upper hand, the dirt churning at the point of the two forces collision like a small hurricane.

“What did you do?” Ted demanded, increasing the force of his attack “Tell me now and you won’t have to suffer!”

The mage boy laughed “You don’t have the experience to out magic me!” Grunting the boy turned the force back toward Ted, taking the advantage for the moment. “The fool girl in an attempt to sate the raging heat in her loins took to her bed pure blood cheetah. Even now his litter grows in her womb. But the best part of it is by forsaking her humanity to sate her bestial lust she has forsaken her right to assume either human forms. If any part of her mind managed to remain human she would not be able to resume human form even if she wanted to!”

Ted faltered as the implication hit home, Lindsey was gone, now a mindless animal. The boy with the blue seized the advantage as Ted’s concentration faltered and slammed Ted into the tree line like an abused rag doll. Ted coughed blood as the mage loomed in closer.

“I must thank you, if you had not given her the ability to assume full beast form she might never have tried her little stunt. Maybe in a couple months after your dead I’ll find her. Then with all hope of her humanity being restored gone I will do to her what I did to Mr. Kent and MR. Rhodes when I turned them into my obedient bitches. I’m sure Lindsey will make a great male once I’m done reworking her spirit, Jonathan and Axel make such good bitches don’t you think?”

Ted grunted as he got his feet under him, “You’re a sick, sick man.” A wall of force slowly pushing against the one the boy was using to pin Ted to the trees.

The boys focus faltered as he was forced to react quickly to a pincer attack from Toni and Jessica. Toni’s body glowed with a white energy, the remnants of a card with the image of a star on it on her paws while Jessica struck from the other end of the forest, her leg stretched out like a rubber band as it smashed into the boy. The boy dropped the ground and stared at the trio as they approached him.

“But how, you never had time to cast any effects on your underlings.”

It was now the boy who felt the pressure bearing down on in, his heart raced and he tried to just resist the forces holding him on the ground. The two girls each held up half a card with the image of a shadowed figured pinned to the ground by an unseen force.

“Before our first fight I didn’t take training serious. Still I had reached a point where I could levitate 3 people, whose combined weight was close to 300 LBS for an hour with only the slow drain of the effect to show for it. When you attacked me I soon learned that that same effect, levitating 300 LBS over a large area for an extended period if released in small area quick bursts let me magically shove you with a force close to half a ton. Since then I have been training, now I can, much as you can, levitate 3 people while they performed complex maneuvers in the air.”

The boy still looked confused as the force seemed to loose half its strength, still the strain of the force was more then his battered body could counter. “But you did no such thing, I saw, it took all your focus to stalemate me!”

“Three days after our fight I scripted into a deck of 60 cards various effects. By tearing the cards the user could release these effects on a target. Each of my friends has a third of that deck. So you and your cronies have really been fighting 3 of me, my sister and my Familiar Toni.”

The boy spit as Ted ushered Toni over to his side, the cat girl leaned down, working the blue orb and its string from the boy’s neck and then slipping it over Ted’s own. The twin orbs glowed blue and green as the pressure intensified. “What fool grants a portion of his power to his servants!”

“I don’t know, but I’ll be sure to ask then when I find one. I am no fool; these are my friends not servants. They protected me without asking and I protect them. They tried to get me to take training seriously; I should have listened to them.”

“What…what are you going to do to me?” the boy said, terror in his voice.

Ted looked to the wolf girls who were trying to get back up and pierced the boy’s heart with his cold glare. “You kidnapped two innocents and destroyed their minds, you watched as Lindsey threw her humanity away wit ha knowing smile. You tried to kill me, my sister, and everyone I hold dear. You are not worthy of life. Toni on the other hand must share her’s with Tony. Two minds sharing the same body. I intend to fix that. I am going to put Toni’s spirit in your body and give her her own body permeably, conveniently erasing your wrenched soul from existence.”

The boy laughed “I don’t have that kind of skill, you believe you do?”

“He’s right master,” Toni added. “Your not experienced enough. But there is another way to get the same effect. And with two orbs you should have enough power to pull it off.”

Ted looked to Toni “I’m listening.”

“Once I turn back to Tony you swap his mind with this boy’s then with him in Tony’s body you give me full control of this body and you change the boy’s face to look like Tony.”

Ted nods, looking to his sister.

“Go for it, get rid of this monster!” she adds.

The clearing is awash in green and blue light as the last thing the boy says, will ever say is a long drawn out howl of vengeance. “I will find a way back, mark my words.”

Ted’s voice is low and cruel edged “No, no you won’t.”

Soon Ted stands before a sight he thought he would never see Toni and Tony standing next to each other, Jessica off to the side.

“Wow,” Tony finally says, his hands squeezing Toni’s breasts in disbelieve. “You’re a real sexy kitten Toni. It’s a nice view from the outside.”

Toni giggles while Ted rolls his eyes “Will you stop feeling up your better half Tony; we need to go find a way to save Lindsey.”

The quartet is drawn to the growls of wolves as the wolf girls stir. Taking defensive positions they get ready to finish the fight when shortly Hawke flies back onto the scene perching on Ted’s arm.

“Fear not,” A voice in Ted’s head says. “With the acquisition of the blue orb you have inherited all that my master held in his power. Soon I will enter my own hibernation until some time in the future the blue orb finds its own master and I will be reincarnated, just as Toni was, in the form chosen for my new master.”

“Who are you?” Ted thought to the voice.

“I am Hawke, the familiar on your arm. The wolf girls are yours to command.”

And with that Hawke took flight, vanishing into the sky, his voice fading from Ted’s mind.

“Live in interesting times,” Jessica added “What was that hawk bit about?”

“Um…still not sure…” Ted said slipping the blue orb from his neck. “Yo Tony, catch.”

The orb tumbled in the air as Tony fumbled to catch it. “Me…why…”

“I already got my ancient artifact of unlimited power.” He joked.

Looking to his sister he lowered his head “I know you almost died for me but Tony was forcibly changed, unknowingly to both of us at the time, into Toni and has had to share his live with her. He tried to get me the train like I should, warning me of things that ultimately happened. I flaunted my power turning him into Toni to shut him up. He deserves the power.”

Jessica smiled, “I agree.”

Tony slipped the string around his neck, the orb beginning to glow. “Guess it’s making me my Familiar, but all I really want is Lindsey back.”

“You called master?” a familiar voice entered the vicinity, in a moment a full grown cheetah padded into the woods. The gathered looked on curious.

“Lin…Lin…Lindsey?” Jessica stammered.

“The Lindsey you know is gone.” The animal said as he slowly took on the proportions and form of a human girl. “But I am a reasonable facsimile. Now master, sorry masters. Why don’t we see what we can do about giving Jonathan and Axel a facsimile of their own selves back?”

Ted smiled “You’re pretty damn close to the original.”

Lindsey smiled “Thank you master Teddy.”
