Chapter 7

AN: Again, I'm SO sorry about the last chapter. I wasn't aware that it had cut off. Here's the update I promised. Sorry it's not terribly long, I'm going out of town and this is all I could manage in the time I have. Hope you enjoy it. Please review, guys. It makes me sad and doesn't help with the creativity when you don't...

Reviewers:

Udyjay: His mum is a bitch, but sadly she's like so many mothers and fathers in this world. They beat him up because they're jerks and homophobics- at least in the open. I'm glad you love the fic, but I can't help my schedule. Unfortunately, school is 20 times more important than writing on the side. Sorry. @_@

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Azrael’s POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I watched my lover walk out and sighed. Damn, I could not believe someone had hurt him like that. I determined that I would have to find out their names and I would be going after them. I would not kill them, as much as I would have liked to, but I could scare the fuck out of them. I would ask the next night- no was unacceptable.
I fell asleep quickly after that, sleeping the rest of the day away. When I woke for the night, I took Victor out with me to get some food. He did not ask me about Lucas and I did not tell. As much as I loved the boy, our relationship had to stay secret. I was still worried about my rival, but Luc was more important and I could not tolerate people abusing him in any way.
After eating, I took Victor home, deciding to do a little investigating in case Lucas decided not to tell me who it was abusing him. If I remembered properly, he had once let the name slip, but it had been months ago. I wanted to say Daniel was one of the names… Once alone, I headed for Luc’s school, easily breaking in.
I found my way into the office; deftly avoiding the single security guard they had patrolling the grounds. I found my way into the principal’s office. I turned on the computer before going over to the file cabinet. I looked through files briefly, trying to figure out who it was. When my eyes landed on a fairly fat file, I pulled it out, opening it. I glanced through it, eyes settling on two names- Charlie Wilson and Daniel Carson. I knew Daniel was one of the names, so I sat down in the principal’s chair, reading through the files quietly.
It appeared that the two almost always got in trouble together, brought multiple times to the principal’s office for fighting, playing cruel pranks, and cheating. They sounded just about right. I looked around, finding a piece of paper from the printer. I grabbed it, quickly jotting down the names. By that time, the computer was booted. Since it was not password protected, I easily got in, searching files for their names. I found them quickly enough, jotting down their addresses.
Once I had the information I needed, I wiped the files clean of my finger prints, using a handkerchief to put it back, wiping the cabinet clean of my prints as well. I shut down the computer, cleaning after myself again- damn, next time I would have to wear gloves. Suddenly, a light shone into the room and I dropped, slipping beneath the desk. The door opened and the rent-a-cop entered, walking around the office. He muttered something to himself, walking out after a moment. I waited a good few minutes before crawling out, snickering at myself for the cheesy hiding place. All lights were off from what I could see—I would have to risk it. I snuck out of the office and went out the way I came, paper stuffed victoriously in my pocket.
It had taken most of the night to find the information and eat, so I headed towards the library. It would open shortly and I would be able to go in. I sat down, thinking about poor Lucas, planning what I would do to those two bastards. If they believed in vampires, that would be simple, but if they did not, I would have to figure something else out. I had to be careful that my threats would not cause them to abuse Lucas more as well.
I was on the stairs for about an hour; the doors opening shortly after the sun began to rise. I was careful to avoid letting the sun touch me as I slid inside, thanking the familiar librarian. I hurried down the stairs to my normal place where I sat down, yawning and letting myself rest peacefully on the chair in the reference section. I fell asleep quickly, not waking until I felt an insistent poking on my stomach.
I cracked an eye open, seeing my angel and smiling. “Hey, beautiful,” I commented, grinning at the younger male. “Are you feeling any better?” He nodded and I wrapped an arm around his waist, pulling him close. “Babe, before you start studying, tell me the name of the two boys who hurt you…” I directed quietly.
I frowned at his question, sighing. “Charlie and Daniel… I… don’t know their last names,” I responded slowly, not wanting to, but I knew he would not settle for a no. His arms wrapped tighter around me and I sank down against him. “They left me alone today…” I commented quietly, “with the exception of putting one of the pictures they took in my locker with a note…”
“I want to see it,” Rae stated firmly, but I shook my head. “I destroyed it, hun… I didn’t want to see that picture more than I had to. I just… I want to forget it happened.” I frowned, shaking my head. “I want to study now, if you don’t mind. I don’t want to think about it.” Azrael nodded slightly and I settled back to read yet another book. I wrapped his arms tighter around me and felt him nestle against my shoulder blade, kissing it through my clothes.
I studied most of the time I was with Rae, stopping only when it was time for me to leave. I did not let him feed from that day; I was a little upset with him for pressing it. With a quick peck, I hurried upstairs to meet with my mother. It was time to face another week without Azrael and with Charlie and Daniel. I sighed, sliding into the car and resting my head back. She still did not know anything had happened to me other than a mild case of food poisoning and I intended to keep it that way.
