Donovan opened his eyes for a few seconds until a splitting headache made him
close them again. He had no idea where he was but he was sure the bed he was
currently laying on was not his. He heard footsteps and loud voices, then a
lock was open and someone approached him.

bellowed at him.

and attempted to get up. The first two times proved hard but with a little help
he made it.

font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>“You are free to go for now. But if
I catch you drunk again I’m keeping you here for a long time.” the same voice
as before said as he dragged Gabriel outside.

will you?”

he was being taken home. Thankfully the young guard driving him there knew
where he was going. Once they reached Gabriel’s house the officer took out of
his uniform a bag with a set of keys and a wallet. Gabriel was left in the
couch and he fell asleep almost instantly.

a long shower. As he allowed the hot water to course through his body memories
came to him.

font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>         Since
he was a kid Gabriel wanted to be a doctor so it was with great joy that he
received the news that he would be going to college and study medicine. Once
there he decided to follow surgery. After he graduated he got a job at the
state hospital. Early did he realize that a surgeon’s worst fear was to lose a
patient during a surgery. Especially
in his field of surgery.
After 3 years of countless surgeries without
problems Gabriel had come face-to-face with that fear. Two days ago, during a
standard heart surgery, Gabriel lost his first patient. He drank all night and
he wasn’t entirely sure but he had the feeling he had done something really
stupid and had spent the day and the night in jail. And now he was trying to drown
himself in his shower.

font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'>style='mso-spacerun:yes'> There was, however, something else he
remembered. A pair of blue eyes that bore deep into his.
A look so strong that he was sure wouldn’t leave his mind for a long, long
time.
