Christmas Special

Okay, so this isn\'t the next official chapter in the story. I wanted to do something festive this year with two of my favorite characters. So here is the Save My Soul Christmas Extravaganza! *tosses confetti in the air*

This doesn\'t really fit in with the current story. I am like 90% done with the next chapter. It just needs to be finished and typed up. I\'m doing my best to get it done before Christmas. I don\'t know if it will be ready. I\'ll get it up as soon as I can.

I love Christmas. It\'s my favorite holiday. Christmas apparently doesn\'t love me... Last year I was sick from Thanksgiving to mid December. I started to feel better and Christmas Eve I got sick again. I woke up and opened presents and slept the rest of the day. I honestly don\'t remember what I got last year for Christmas.

The year before that; my grandmother was rushed to the hospital Christmas Eve. My parents didn\'t want to worry me so I didn\'t find out until I came home from work that afternoon. She almost died. So yeah... That wasn\'t very fun.

And well, here I am a little less than a week away from Christmas and I have a cold. X_X It better go away in time for Christmas...

Okay, but enough babbling from me. I hope you enjoy the tiny chapter. And have a great Christmas or whatever it is you might celebrate.

Two Weeks Before Christmas

"Come on, Yuki!" Matt whined. "Get up and dress warm."

"Wha?" Yuki yawned and opened his eyes. Matt was standing next to the bed and bouncing up and down. "Why are you dressed like a lumberjack?"

"We are going to go cut down a tree for Christmas!" Matt grabbed Yuki by the arm and pulled him out of the bed. Yuki gasped and fell to the floor like a dead fish. "You were supposed to stand up when I did that..." Matt pouted.

"I wasn\'t expecting you to drag me out of bed..." Yuki stood up. "Why can\'t we just go to a store a buy a tree?"

"It was a family tradition. Did you have any traditions for Christmas?"

"My family never celebrated Christmas..." Yuki mumbled and headed for the closet.

"Oh, are you Jewish or Pagan or something?" Matt sat down on the bed and waited for Yuki to get ready.

"No. My parents would tell me I didn\'t work hard enough to deserve a Christmas." Yuki gathered up the warmest clothes he could find and walked into the bathroom to get dressed.

"No cookies and decorations?" Matt frowned. "You must have celebrated when you were a kid."

"No..." Came Yuki\'s muffled reply from behind the bathroom door. "I remember coming home from preschool and asking my dad about Santa. I heard a few kids talking about Santa and we did this craft where we glued cotton balls on Santa\'s face... But he told me Santa didn\'t exist. He was made up because parents wanted their kids to behave throughout the year. He said it\'s wrong to get gifts for no reason. You should behave all year long."

"Wow..." Matt couldn\'t believe not growing up with Christmas. It was always a time of happiness for him. He could remember his nan in the kitchen baking non-stop for two weeks. The house would smell of delicious cookies and he remembered every Christmas Eve he would go out with his dad and nan to look at all the lights on the houses in town. They would drive down the dark roads and sing Christmas carols. Then they would come home and have hot chocolate and watch Christmas movies. Most of his best childhood memories were of Christmas.

Yuki came out of the bathroom dressed. "I know that look..." Yuki sat down next to Matt. "You\'re feeling sorry for me. Don\'t."

"It\'s just so wrong!" Matt shouted. Yuki cringed and slid away from Matt. "Heh... Sorry?"

Yuki hugged Matt. "It\'s not work getting angry about. It\'s in the past."

"You\'re right." Matt pulled the blond into his lap. "Forget the past. I\'m going to help you make new memories." Matt smiled and kissed Yuki. Yuki nibbled on Matt\'s lip.

"I can\'t wait." Yuki smiled and stood up.

"Matt... Just pick a tree." Yuki grumbled as he hugged himself. Matt had spent the last hour wandering the woods. It was starting to snow. "Did my nose fall off? I can\'t feel it anymore."

"Your cute little nose is still attached to your pretty face." Matt chuckled and plowed forward.

"We are surrounded by pine trees. Just pick one..."

"It has to be perfect. Just wait." Matt smiled at Yuki.

"Hey uh... Matt? Did you bring something to cut the tree down?"

Matt stopped walking and turned to Yuki. "I forgot..." Yuki glared at Matt and started stomping towards the house.

"I\'m sorry. I completely forgot." Matt chased after the blond. "I guess we\'ll just go buy one..."

Three Days Before Christmas

Yuki wandered the mall aimlessly. He tried to push his way through all the last minute shoppers so he could see the window displays in the stores. He had $30 in his bank account and no idea what to get Matt.

He was going to buy Matt a tie but that didn\'t seem romantic. He eyed up a really nice silver watch, but it was way more than he could afford. Plus, he felt like anything he bought for Matt wouldn\'t be good enough. What do you buy for someone who has saved your life and made you extremely happy?

Dejected; Yuki left the mall empty handed.

Matt came home from a busy day at the hospital. He walked through the front door and noticed all the lights were out. "Yuki?" He saw a faint glow coming from the living room and headed towards the light. Yuki was lying on the couch staring blankly at the Christmas tree.

"Yuki?" Matt asked again kneeling down in front of the blond. "What\'s wrong?"

"I don\'t know what to get you for Christmas..." Yuki pouted. "I can\'t afford a good gift."

Matt chuckled. "Is that all?"

"Is that all?" Yuki glared and sat up. "I was at the mall all day and I came home empty handed. I wanted to get you something amazing. Something that would say how much you mean to me and I got nothing."

Matt hugged Yuki tightly. "Is that all?" Matt tried his best not to laugh.

"I-is that all?" Yuki frowned. "I suck at Christmas."

"You don\'t suck at Christmas." Matt smiled. "Don\'t get me anything."

"But I have to. That\'s the whole point of Christmas."

"No it\'s not. Christmas isn\'t all about gifts. It is about spending time with loved ones."

But a gift..."

"No gifts. I won\'t get you anything. We\'ll just spend time with each other. We\'ll eat cookies and watch movies all day. Okay?"

"Okay." Yuki smiled and kissed Matt on the cheek.

Christmas Eve

"You make the popcorn. I\'ll grab the soda and cookies. The movie is about to start!" Matt yelled cheerfully as he skipped out of the kitchen and into the living room. He sat the plate of cookies in the middle of the coffee table and sat the cans of soda next to it. Yuki followed with a steaming bowl of buttery popcorn.

"I don\'t see what the rush is. This movie is on for twenty four hours."

"Because it\'s \'A Christmas Story\'. It\'s one of the best movies ever!"

"If you say so..." Yuki sat down on the couch and snuggled up against Matt.

Yuki had to admit; that was a funny movie. He wanted to watch it again but Matt was complaining about being tired.

Matt took Yuki by the hand and led him towards the stairs. Yuki stopped suddenly.

"Why do you have berries and leaves nailed above the dining room entryway?"

Matt led Yuki over to the entryway. "It\'s a tradition. It\'s mistletoe. If two people are under it they have to kiss."

"Interesting..." Yuki smiled and stood on his tip toes to give Matt a long; hard kiss. Matt gently nibbled on Yuki\'s lips before pulling away.

"Thanks for being so great." Matt smiled and led Yuki up to bed.

Christmas Day

Yuki woke up early to the smell of bacon, eggs, and coffee. He must have been in a deep sleep because he didn\'t feel Matt get out of bed. He slipped on his monkey slippers and headed down the stairs. Yuki paused in the living room. Sitting under the lit tree was a single gift wrapped in blue and white snowflake paper. He walked over to it and picked up the box. His name was written on it and it said it was from \'Santa\'. Yuki picked up the gift and headed into the kitchen.

"I thought we weren\'t exchanging gifts." Yuki said frowning at Matt.

Matt stopped plating up the eggs and turned to face Yuki. "I didn\'t get you anything. It was Santa." Yuki pouted at Matt. "Just open it, Yuki..."

Yuki sat down at the table with is present. He felt horrible that he got something and Matt had nothing to open Christmas day. He should have known that Matt would get him something. On the other hand; Yuki was excited. He had never gotten a Christmas present from anyone before.

Yuki tore into the paper and ignored the fact that he gave himself a paper cut. Under all the shiny paper was a plain white box. He had no idea what could be inside. He glanced up at Matt and saw the huge smile on the brunettes face.

He gently lifted the lid and peeked in. He pulled out a $100 gift certificate for the mall and placed it on the table.

"Matt, you didn\'t have to spend all this money on me..."

"I didn\'t. It was Santa. What else did you get?"

"If Santa came that means you got something too."

Matt reached his hand into his robe and pulled out a lump of coal. "He said I did very naughty things." Matt laughed and placed the coal back in his pocket. "I don\'t regret any of those naughty things."

"You are insane..." Yuki mumbled and looked in the box. He pulled out a red DS and a couple of RPG\'s. "No way! I\'ve always wanted a DS!" Yuki stood up and hugged Matt. "Thank you."

"Don\'t thank me. Thank Santa." Matt said ruffling Yuki\'s hair.

"When are you going to stop the Santa act?"

"He does exist, you know." Matt smirked.

"If he exists then why did he never give me a gift before?" Yuki smirked.

"Simple. He was afraid of your parents. Santa didn\'t want to get arrested for breaking into your house."

"That seems logical." Yuki said as he put his gifts back in the box.

"Now lets eat breakfast! Then we can start our movie marathon!" Matt threw his arms up in the air. "I can\'t wait!"

Matt introduced Yuki to many great Christmas movies and Yuki loved every single one.

At the end of the day the two men crawled into bed.

"Matt, thanks for making this the best day ever." Yuki kissed matt on the cheek and cuddled with the brunette.
