~ Noon the same day~
Damn sun… found the gap in the curtains… Want to sleep…
There’s an arm around me…
What … the … fuck … ???
I don’t know if I want to know who it is.
“Mi cariño, you’re very tense all of a sudden.” It’s Wulfric, thank god… I was kinda scared when I first woke up. When I first wake up, things are stark and simple. Anything out of the ordinary causes shock and fear within me.
“Just surprised.” My voice was scratchy and I coughed lightly.
“Ok… I should be going… I’ll call you tomorrow?”
“We’re working tomorrow, I’ll see you at the set right?” I pushed up onto my elbows, letting the covers pool over my abdomen. Wulfric was watching me from his sprawl. He was on his side facing me, with his arm over my waist.
“Of course.” As Wulfric spoke, I sat up, the covers pooling in a heavy weight against my hips. The worst part was actually getting out of the bed. The bed was too tall for me. I slid my legs over the edge and smiled helplessly at the sight of my feet hovering above the ground. I gave a quick push to get closer to the edge of the bed until my feet touched the cold floor. Once free of the bed, I pulled the skirt down to cover me as best as a mini skirt can. My top was skewed, but that didn’t matter, Wulfric had already seen the tattoo and the top was mesh, which meant that it was basically see-through anyway.
“Coffee?” I spoke as I scooped up the dressing gown that lay on the floor near the wardrobe. It was black with silver lace around the collar. I tied the sash around my waist and looked at the pool of material on the floor around my feet. I felt tiny and for once it didn’t bother me.
“Mmm, yes please.” I smiled as I heard him shifting around. He’d probably follow me into the kitchen. I walked into the kitchen, kicking my gown out in front of me so that I didn’t step on it and trip myself up. Once in the kitchen, my stockings made it difficult to kick the gown and keep my balance. I staggered along, slipping on the smooth surfaced tiles. Reaching the kettle was the highlight of my walk through the kitchen.
I turned to look for the mugs and found him standing close by, his shirt wrinkled beyond compare and his leather pants doubled around his ankles. I smiled, reaching up for the mugs on the wall shelf. Coffee didn’t take long to make, once the kettle boiled.
I managed to pass Wulfric his coffee and I was just walking away from the bench with my own, planning to sit on one of the stools beside Wulfric when my tenuous grasp of balance disappeared.
THUMP!
I gasped in pain as the scalding coffee ran over my chest and neck, broken shards of ceramic littered over and around me.
“Alenjandro!” Wulfric was beside me, quickly tearing the gown off and using it to mop the coffee off me.
“Ow… fuck!” I scrambled up, the gown falling completely off me as I slid towards the doorway that led to the bedroom and through to the bathroom. Once in the bathroom, I turned the shower on cold and stepped in, submerging the burns under the water. I didn’t bother taking the clothes off until the water cooled the coffee embedded in them. I stripped the mesh top off as I heard Wulfric follow me into the bathroom. The shower was spitting water onto the floor through the open shower door. Red marks covered a large portion of my upper chest and probably part of my neck as well.
“Here… do you have any burn cream?”
“In the bottom cupboard on the right.” I was grateful that it hadn’t gotten me anywhere else. Peeling the stockings off was bad enough. I was grateful to keep the mini skirt on. Wulfric found the cream and I stepped out of the shower, turning it off and gingerly patting the burns dry with a fluffy black towel.
“Come sit on the bench top.” I obligingly jumped up onto the bench and waited for him to apply the stinging cream to all the burns. The ceramic fragments had been brushed off when I ran for the bathroom.
“All done… Still hurt?” I looked up at Wulfric, bringing a hand up to touch the burns.
“No… I feel very clumsy…” I smiled a little as I slid down and off the counter, throwing the towel over the water that coated the tiles around the shower door.
“Its ok, accidents happen. I’ll bet you do that every morning right? This has to be the first time that’s happened to you right?”
“Yeah… I’m normally fine.” As I spoke with him, I was in my bedroom with the wardrobe doors pulled open and he in the bathroom. I would feel much more comfortable if I wasn’t in this damn skirt. I found a pair of loose track pants and retreated to the spare bedroom to change into them. I drew the string tight and knotted it, comfortable at last.
“Mi cariño?” I pushed the door open to find Wulfric peering curiously around the doorway of the bathroom. I smiled at him and watched, amused, as his gaze travelled down my chest to stare at my tattoo in the better lighting of my apartment.
“It’s rude to stare.”
~*~
His voice broke my reverie and I lifted my gaze up to his, feeling a blush tinge colour across my cheeks.
“I’d best be going… I’ll see you tomorrow…” His face dropped and I felt like I had kicked a puppy. I sighed as he nodded and started to fiddle with the tie hanging from his trackies.
“Ok, I’ll walk you to the door then.” His voice was quieter than normal and I collected my shoes, stopping to pull them on before following him to the door. He fiddled with the doorknob as we stood in the open doorway.
“I’ll be seeing you at the set tomorrow.”
“Yes of course.” His voice was even quieter as he spoke the confirming words. I caught him around the waist, lifting him so that I could kiss him senseless for the few moments I had with him. He drew back and his eyes were confused as he stared at me.
“Wulf… what?”
“I’ll be taking you out after work… take a change of clothes… We’ll go to Shadow Eden as we should have last night.”
“Ok.” His smile could have lit up a football stadium. I smiled and dropped a sweet innocent kiss on his cherry lips before gently setting him back on his feet and retreating down the hallway.
“Goodbye mi cariño.” I called out just before I descended down the stairs.
“Goodbye Wulf.” I turned back to look at him and found him peering endearingly around the doorframe, watching me with sparkling eyes. His voice sounded a lot happier than it had a few moments ago when I spoke of leaving. I gave him a small wave before starting down the stairs.
