Candy was adjusting her bra strap as she walked back out into the living room, it was around 9 in the morning. The little girl was sitting on the floor playing with some random objects she had found around Bade’s apartment, including an old shoelace and a small keychain with a character on it. Candy sat down and laced up her boots. Her black pants were wrinkled and her shirt was half tucked in and the top buttons un-done. Her blonde hair was even messier than usual. Ice refused to meet her eyes.

“Kay called this morning. She’s on her way to pick us up now.”

Candy nodded as she tied up her other boot. “Have you found out anything about the girl…”

“Her name is Celeste…She isn’t dumb…”

“I never said she was.”

Celeste looked up at Candy with those chocolate eyes, then went back to her makeshift toys.

Candy lit up a cigarette and flopped back in her chair. She ran her hand through her choppy hair.
“Where’d Bade run off to so early this morning…”

“How the hell should I know?”

Ice shrugged.

“I want to get the girl dropped of at the Lab and then I want to head out again, I want to find out what’s up with the Ghosts.”

“Fine with me, but I think you should take Angie out with you, I ain’t feelin so hot, think I’ll sit this one out.”

“Alright.” Candy in no way felt comfortable with the arrangement, but she didn’t have much of a choice. Angela needed the experience and Candy needed someone to cover her ass. Ice was her partner, she had come to depend on him to have her back.

A car horn blasted outside about ten minutes later. Kay was sitting outside in an old Queen Vic, it was nothing short of a tank. A white suede top, baby blue outside. velvet blue interior, and dark tinted windows. She also had a steel push bar that came in handy when it came to mowing over unwanted…obstacles.

Kay had long sleek red hair that she kept in a single braid. Her eyes were sea green, and she had a no shit attitude, all work and no play. She was also the groups main mode of transport. She was probably in her late twenties, and she was like a big sister to everyone. She was one of the original people in their little organization.

“Nice to see you guys in one piece.”

“Likewise.” Ice opened the back girl and helped Celeste in.

“Whose the kid?”

“She was being chased by Ghosts.”

“Ghosts?” That sounds like an interesting story, you’ll have to tell me about it when we get back.”

Ice was in the back with Celeste and Candy sat up front with her arm out the window. Kay drove like a mad woman.

An old abandoned hospital served as headquarters. They had all of the entrances blocked off except for one that had a retina scan down in the car garage. The main lab was on the 2nd floor, the bedrooms were on the 3rd. The 1st floor served as the infirmary slash cafeteria.

Kay parked the car and they all went to the old elevator. The parking garage was dark and cold. Celeste clung to Ice’s arm. Kay stood in front of the scan and allowed the red beam to pass over her eyes. The fluorescent lights flickered on as the elevator shook to live and began to rise. When the door opened they walked out into a long hallway with doors on both sides, all numbered.

“Welcome home.” Kay said with a grin

A/N: Okay thats like 7 chapters...and not a single reveiw....does it really suck that badly? O.O I really love this story, but if no one is reading it I might as well just stop posting new chapters. I would hate to do that, but I have other stories, ones that people LIKE and where as this one is my favorite, I would be willing to stop if it means that I could spend my time writing something that people enjoy reading.
