CHAPTER SEVEN
Marcus looked at Kyle as they finished up and tested the flame thrower. It wasn\'t the greatest but they thought it would work. They had limited stuff to work with but now Kyle looked at Marcus. \"Get back and run if it doesn\'t work.\" he told him and Marcus looked at him. He just nodded his head at that grimly. One of the other men moved to block Marcus off so he would be the first taken if it went wrong. Marcus looked at the man and then saw another fire place with a poker. He grabbed two of the long rods and handed one to the man. He took the other feeling better having something to hold onto if he needed to fight.
Kyle watched the man open the door and turned on the flame thrower just as the first insect\'s came at them. Kyle stood in the door way shooting the flames at them. They caught on fire like dried out wood and would fly around smashing into the other\'s. Kyle continued to let the flames shoot out catching the ones who weren\'t all ready fried. The flame thrower ran out and he looked at the remaining bugs. \"Damn it.\" he said. They flew at Kyle and the man dove out of the way as the other\'s began to smash them any way they could. Kyle joined in and saw Marcus hadn\'t run he stood his ground using the poker to smash the giant mosquito\'s and then stab them to make sure they were dead. Kyle rushed to him and began to help.
It was only then that they realized they weren\'t alone in the room something was moving about one man screamed as something wrapped around his legs and brought him down. The last insect was killed and now the other\'s turned to see what was going on with the man. They could only see something red and slimy around the man\'s legs. It was dragging him towards a closet. Kyle looked at Marcus unsure to leave him alone. He then took out a knife and rushed to the man. He began to cut at the thing. It released it\'s hold giving voice to it\'s pain. Kyle dragged the man up and went back to Marcus. \"We need to get out of here.\" He said. The two women looked at them in terror at what was going on. They held onto their men but nodded their heads. They wanted out of this place as well. \"Marcus I\'m sorry I didn\'t listen to you.\" he said to his brother pulling him into a hug that was both loving and protective. Then let go and looked at the other\'s. \"Let\'s go we have to move or that thing will try again.\" he said. He moved to the door and went out with Marcus at his side.
The women rushed to the front door and tried to get it open but couldn\'t. \"The door won\'t open.\" They said in a panic. The men tried and found it to be the same way for them too. They looked at Kyle who suddenly turned into their leader. Kyle looked at them for a while and then looked around the house. He went to a window and tried to open it only to find it wouldn\'t open. He swore under his breath and looked around. Grabbing a chair he tried to smash the window only to have the chair bounce off from it. He looked at the other\'s and then at Marcus. He went over to his little brother. He talked only for him to hear.
\"Can you sense some way for us to get out.\" He asked. He trusted Marcus to know something and watched the blond close his eyes and hold still for a while. He nodded his head and told Kyle in a whisper as well what he sensed. He knew he could be wrong though and made sure he told Kyle that. \"It\'s okay Marcus.\" He said. He then rounded up everyone and began to lead them to where Marcus had said. That meant going up the stairs facing what ever creatures came their way. They all had grabbed something to use a weapon. Marcus walked close to Kyle\'s side giving directions when he needed to.
The demon creature looked at the group of human\'s. This wasn\'t how it was suppose to go. The two brother\'s should have followed him when he had pulled the Linda masquerade but the blond had ruined that. He was so mad at the younger brother for ruining his plans. He now sent more creatures after them targeting the younger brother. He wouldn\'t kill him but would make him regret what he had done.
Marcus fell behind a little as they headed up some stairs again. He watched Kyle who hadn\'t noticed yet and sighed. He was exhausted from the first run and his legs ached. He continued on though and they came to a hall way and Marcus looked around. Something was here but he couldn\'t tell where. He went to say something when it turned into a scream when something wrapped around his waist. He was lifted off the ground and was turned to face what ever held him. Marcus struggled in the creatures hold it was a cross between a spider and a squid. It had a spider like body with the legs but also had a torso that had tentacles with hooks on the end. It\'s mouth opened up to show fangs as long as Marcus\'s hand. Marcus cried out again for help
Kyle heard Marcus and spun he looked at the creature holding Marcus. He gave a yell of fear for his brother and rushed towards them. He had one thing on his mind save his little brother at all costs. Kyle then saw it a stinger came out and he watched as it pierced Marcus making his brother cry out again in pain. Kyle looked at the other\'s \"Help me.\" He yelled. He began to stab at the creature avoiding the other tentacles that tried to smash him away from it. The other\'s joined in using their homemade weapon\'s to stab at the creature. It released Marcus and tried to fight for it\'s life as one of the girls dragged the young man out of the way. The group didn\'t stop attacking until the creature was dead. Kyle then rushed to his brother and looked at him. \"Marcus please be all right.\" he said softly. He checked him out and was relieved that he was still breathing and his heart beat was good. He looked at the other\'s as he lifted his brother into his arms. \"Okay we got to get out of here now.\" he said. They nodded their heads at that one man moved up to help out just incase they were attacked again.
