Chapter7
Thankfully the day went by fast and before I knew it I was climbing out of my bedroom window and making my way towards Edwards house. I had spent all day thinking about him, and about Kevin. Edward I wanted to know more about, I wanted to know more about what he had made me, the origins, everything. He had to tell me, had to give me the necessary information and not just a bunch of riddles and hurt feelings.
I’m the one that has had an entirely different lifestyle thrown upon her. I didn’t ask for this to happen. Adventure and excitement sure, but not to be changed, to have my mortality taken. And Kevin, well, him I also want to know more about. I had gotten a trickle of information, a piece out of the normal. I don’t think that Kevin is human, or at least not normal. It’s just my luck that my life would go from semi complicated to completely complicated in such a short time.
There is so much I want to know, so much I need to know, and very little of it is coming my way. I should just throw a fit and demand everything, or else. But I’ve never been one for fits, never saw the purpose. And besides, I have the feeling that Edward would just walk off, and I definitely don’t need that.
“What, you suddenly don’t remember how to knock?”
Startled, I look up and am surprised to see that I’m all ready at Edwards house, standing just inside the door. I must have been thinking too hard to notice where I was going. Edward, in only a pair of dark blue pants, stands next to the couch, towel in hand. By his wet hair, and towel, I’d have to say he just got out of the shower. I shut the door behind me before I answer.
“Generally, no, not when I’m thinking this hard.”
He laughs, “Thinking is an altogether bad habit, if you ask me. What’s on your mind?”
Is now the right time? Will it drive him away again, like last night, or will he actually speak to me. Why can’t things just be easy, why do I have to keep coming up against puzzles and brick walls?
“I just feel so lost right now. Nothing is as it once was, it’s very different, and it’s hard to adjust.”
“It is hard to adjust to, I don‘t expect you to adjust in a matter of days. In the old days it wasn’t as hard, you gave your life to your creator. You had to train for years until you were deemed ready to set out into the world.”
“That’s just it, Edward, I don’t know anything of what I am. Sure, you’ve given me a few snatches, but nothing more. As a human, an American human, I know the history of my country. As this, a succubus, I know nothing. I’m lost. I’m on a boat in the middle of the ocean with no oars and a large hole at the bottom. Sinking fast and getting nowhere.”
Edward drapes the towel over his shoulder and gives me a peculiar expression.
“I’m sorry. It’s hard for me to speak of the past, but you deserve to know the origins of what you have become…”
Suddenly their is a knock at the door and I smile, unable to help myself. I can feel Kevin, standing at the other side of the door, waiting to see if anyone will hear and open the door. I can feel him wonder if last night was just a dream, and hoping that it wasn’t. I glance at Edward and he’s watching me closely.
“Can you feel him?”
“Yes.”
“That’s part of what owning him, being so connected, means. If you open yourself to him he’ll be able to know that you’re here as well. Open up to him when you go to open the door, let him know that your coming with more than words.”
I make my way towards the door, sighing softly as I let down any defenses that I might have. I can feel his worry leak away as he feels me near. I should be upset that the subject had been changed, once again, before I could learn anything useful. But with Kevin on the other side of the door I find I can’t concentrate anymore. Kevin. My Kevin.
“Hello!”
He says a little quick, and a little louder than necessary, as I open the door. His face is so wide, so open, showing me each emotion that crosses it; relief, excitement, happiness. I motion for him to come inside and he practically skips his way in, his eyes staying on me.
“I thought that maybe it had all been a dream…”
I can feel my lips move up in a smile as I close the door and walk over to Kevin. He watches me as a mouse would a cat, cautiously, expectantly. But I can feel his emotions, hear his thoughts, he understands that I own him and it doesn’t seem to bother him. I think he actually likes it.
“No dream, Kevin.”
I take his hand, slipping my fingers between his. The small action is almost like a jolt of electricity between us and suddenly I can feel everything stronger then before, brighter and clearer. I turn and give Edward a puzzled look.
“Touch amplifies everything for us. Even the smallest of intimacies, like holding hands, can give more power. I’ve got a few lessons for the two of you to go through. Tomorrow evening we’ll all three go out and catch a few clubs, get the feel of moving around in public areas.”
Lessons, but no history. I see I must choose my fight carefully. I’ll allow him to dodge me this time, but after Kevin goes home I will bring up my questions again, carefully. It’s almost like trying to catch a wild rabbit, if you don’t sneak up on it quietly enough, and if your net isn’t quite ready, you’ll succeed only in spooking it. And spooking it just means an even longer chase. But if you get it right the first time, your guaranteed a delicious supper.
“I guess that’s cool.”
Kevin shrugs and looks at me, so much like a trusting child that it makes me want to cry and laugh at the same time. Crying won’t get us anywhere so I allow myself to laugh. Soft and sweet, without a hint of the turmoil boiling inside me, or the fact that right now Kevin is making me feel years older, when I know he’s the one that’s older.
“What’s the today’s first lesson? Oh, great Yoda.”
Kevin laughs but Edward just gives me a blank expression and blinks. Obviously he’s never heard of Star Wars. That, or it just wasn’t funny to him. How will I ever survive this?
“For today’s lesson I’ll show you how to use your powers with Kevin as a conduit. First, I’ll show you how to send your powers out, with just a touch. Later, we’ll practice without touching, but it will be another week, at least, before we can do that. Ready?”
“Yes.” Kevin and I say in unison, both eager to see what he has planned.
“Continue to hold his hand, you’ll need the skin to skin contact. Going through cloths will work, but you’ll get the best conductivity from skin to skin contact. Now, I want you to close your eyes, Leona, and relax. Move your spirit out, through your arm and into Kevin’s arm. Fill him from head to toe so that you know what every part of his body is doing, what he’s thinking and feeling.”
“What do I do?”
“You, my boy, just react normally and let her lead.”
I close my eyes and ignore them, completely blocking out any further conversations they might have. I will myself to relax, draw myself together and will my essence down the arm that’s holding Kevin’s hand, and up through his. I can feel myself move through his body, filling him like a second skin, as if I were the new snake forming underneath an old skin. Edward’s voice drifts over to me as I work, a product of his own powers, no doubt, since I’d long ago started ignoring him.
“Stroke him, touch as you would if he were underneath you in bed. Bring his pleasure to the surface.”
I can see him in my mind, the complete inner workings of the inside of his body, with a double over of his outside skin. He’s naked and open to anything I might do to him. I brush my essence over his chest, moving down to brush against his sleeping member. I can feel it come to life from my invisible touches. I continue to touch, to caress, his body. I can feel pressure build up inside him as my caresses become more urgent. I continue until I feel that pressure build up so strong that it boils over and out.
I can feel his entire body shudder and open my eyes to see him in the middle of an orgasm, eyes closed, mouth partially open. When it’s over he opens his eyes and looks at me, there is a glazed look to his eyes but the smile that he gives me excites me more then anything that had just happened. I just gave him an orgasm without touching him and he liked it!
“Remind me not to let you know when I’m taking a test at school, that’s distracting.”
He says with a laugh and I smile in reply, feeling pretty good about the whole thing. Then I look at Edward and feel the smile become suddenly pasted on my face. His expression is sober, if a little blank.
“Not bad for your first time. Things like this take practice to be truly good.”
Nice… And down the drain goes all my good feelings. Is he purposely trying to down me, a sort of punishment for bringing up the past again? I hope not, because that would make me mad.
“I, personally, thought it was awesome! Of course, I am still new to all this.”
I give Kevin’s hand a gentle squeeze to let him know that I understand. Edward is just being moody.
Edward adjusts the towel on his shoulder and looks down at it as if just now remembering what he had been doing before I came in.
“Lets grab something to eat. Using your powers will tire you, but it will also tire whom ever you use your powers against. Something like this, will empower you more then tire you, because you fed from the energies that he exudes. But, like when you made him yours, you’ll become tired. I should have mentioned this sooner, as it’s an important part of what you’ve become.
Eating will be the first thing you’ll want to do. Replenishing that will go a long ways to healing any lagging energies. Which means..” He looks at both of us intently. “Keep a good supply of food around, easily accessible. You don’t want to use a large amount of energy and not have a way of curbing the after effects.”
He turns and walks into the kitchen, laying the towel on the back of a chair. I glance at Kevin and we both follow after Edward.
“What will happen if we cannot get to food after using a lot of energy?”
Edward opens the fridge, takes out a bowl, and sits it on the counter.
“You’ll go into shock, convulse. Really nasty stuff.”
He doesn’t turn around as he speaks, instead he busies himself with open the bowl and placing it, and it’s contents, into the microwave. When he shuts the door and hit’s the on button he turns to face both of us.
“Just make certain that you take precautions. Trust me when I say you don’t want to see what happens if you don’t eat.”
“All right. So, food, lots of food. I think we can remember that.”
I turn to Kevin with a smile and pinch his stomach playfully.
“He could use a little extra meat on him anyways.”
“Hey! That hurt… I think I look just fine the way I am, thank you very much.”
I laugh, I can’t help it, he looks so cute when he pouts, the way his bottom lip sticks out and quivers just a little. I trace the outline of the pouting lip and give him a soft, chaste, kiss.
“I was only teasing, I love the way you look.”
I let him see the truth in my eyes as I survey him from head to toe. He shivers just a little under my attention… We both jump when the microwave dings as the timer goes off. I glance over at it and catch the hint of a smile from Edward as he takes the bowl out.
“How come I don’t feel tired right now?”
Good question, I don’t feel any fatigue in Kevin, he seems just as good as when he walked in the door.
“How did you sleep last night? Sometimes it takes awhile to notice, especially if their wasn’t much energy taken. But, as we continue our lessons you’ll begin to notice it more.”
I keep my face from showing it’s shock, but inside I’m just as surprised as Kevin seems. Last night had been the first night since meeting Edward that I had slept all the way through. I had almost slept through the alarm clock going off. And I had actually sat down for breakfast and eaten. It had definitely bothered me. From Kevin’s response I know it bothered him, he had almost been late for school.
“Well, then we’d better eat something. I don’t want my Kevin growing too weak before the night’s over.”
I work to keep my tone light and humorous, it won’t do to let either of them know that I’m bothered by any of it. Kevin smiles and I feel a swell of pride fill him when I call him ‘my Kevin’.
I’m the one that has had an entirely different lifestyle thrown upon her. I didn’t ask for this to happen. Adventure and excitement sure, but not to be changed, to have my mortality taken.
