7-Captured

The guards at the gate allowed Felix to pass without any trouble. He thought it was too easy, but at the moment the only thing on his mind was getting back to Aden. He backtracked the way they had come, having a little trouble navigating the tunnels in the reversed path, but he managed.
At last he came to the open area where the vehicle was waiting for them the first time. When he turned off the ignition, he was plunged into complete darkness. He couldn’t see his hand if he waved it inches in front of his face.
With no light source, he had to fumble through the pitch black to find his way back outside. The maintenance corridors were easy to get through, with closed walls to both sides and only one way to go. However, once into the main room of the building he was lost. He knew he had to find the escalator in the center of the room, but which way did he have to walk to reach it?
He took a shaky, terrified breath, and he left the wall. Traveling blind, aing ing could have snuck up on him and killed him with ease. His eyes were beginning to adjust, but not nearly enough to see clearly.
As he was walking he unknowingly kicked something, a can or something of the like. The sound of the tin bouncing and rolling on the hard floor echoed through the room, giving Felix a start. It was a few more steps before he bumped into something hard, the escalator. Traveling up the steps proved to be more difficult than finding them. Repeatedly he stumbled and nearly fell, but after a time he became used to the distance between each step and was able to walk with ease the rest of the way up them.
The light was slightly better in the upper floor, enabling him to see faint shadows and lines. There were two holes in the walls, one where the bulldozer must have entered, and the other where it smashed through and killed the mutant attacking them.
Felix made his way back to the alley where they’d last seen Aden, being able to see much better outside. It still being dark, he stumbled over a few fallen bricks while looking around. There were no signs of anything at all, not even a breeze stirred through the alley.
All of the corpses had left the gate at the end they’d came through, but Felix still wasn’t willing to try his luck going back through it, so he went down and out the other end of the alley.
That street looked the same as all the rest in the city, full of old abandoned cars, debris, and skeletons. Felix kept a look out for any bodies while still looking for signs of where Aden had been taken.
Looking down the street he thought he’d seen something move. He squinted his eyes, trying to see in the almost pitch black conditions. It was the figure of a person, standing halfway out of another alley. Before Felix could focus in, it was gone. Too fast to be a corpse, and had it been one, it would’ve moved towards Felix, not back into the alley. So, Felix decided to pursue.
He ran down the sidewalk, jumping over the occasional random object or skeleton, until he reached the alley where it had been. Looking down the corner, he saw it standing at the back. There was nowhere for whomever it was to go, a wall at the back, and walls to both sides. hen, hen, Felix watched as it leapt up into the air, higher than any normal living thing should be able to jump. It soared into the air up to the second floor of the right building, landing on a fire escape and then disappearing into an open window.
Not worrying about what it was he was following, Felix ran after it still; he was only concerned with finding Aden. Running down the alley, gun in hand, he clamored up the fire escape steps. At the first floor he had to turn back, follow a narrow platform, and then turn up to another set of steps. At the top of them, he turned to the window he’d seen the thing disappear into.
Without thinking he climbed through, finding himself in a completely empty room. There were a few doors leading out of it, through one of them Felix could hear voices. It was open only a few inches, but enough for him to see through if he got close enough.
Slowly he walked over to it, praying that the floorboards were silent as he walked over them. At the door he peered inside, seeing a few people, as well as the one he followed to gete. e. One of them had long, straight, silver hair past his shoulders, his eyes a soft red, almost orange, and his skin an extremely pale white, as were all of them in the room. Felix counted about five, including the one with the silver hair.
Felix then saw Aden, lying on the floor against the far wall of the room. He didn’t hesitate, slamming through the door and pointing the gun at the man standing closest to Aden, the silver haired one. The door slammed against the wall and slowly moved towards Felix a bit before finally stopping, the loud bang it caused catching all of their attention.
“And you led him back here!” the silver haired man said to the one Felix had been following; he’d been in the middle of telling the man about Felix.
“Get away from him!” Felix shouted, switching from person to person who he was aiming the gun at.
None of the men looked threatened at all, in fact they looked almost amused. The silver haired man was smiling even. “Come to rescue your friend have you?”
“I wont hurt any of you if you just let me take him back.”
He laughed again. “You, hurt us? I’m sorry, but I just found me new toy, I can’t let you take it away from me.” He pointed at one of the other men in the room, immediately he charged for Felix.
Without hesitating he squeezed the trigger again and again, firing about three shots into the man running towards him before he fell to the ground a few feet in front of Felix.
The silver haired man’s smile had faded, but he still di loo look the least bit worried. He sent two more of the men for Felix with a wave of his hand. Felix shot two bullets into the chest of one, and right as the other was within arms reach he fired a bullet into the center of his forehead. Without waiting for the others to attack, Felix shot the last one a few times, making him stumble back into the wall before sliding down to the floor, leaving streaks of blood down the wall. The silver haired man was the only one left, and he was the last that Felix shot at. One bullet was all it took, the man spinning around and falling face first to the floor beside Aden.
With all of the men down, Felix jogged across the room to Aden. He sat him up against the wall, trying to shake him awake.
“Aden, Aden wake up.”
Felix was too busy with Aden; he didn’t notice the silver haired man stirring. He raised his head from the floor, his silver locks falling around his face as he snarled, baring his pointed fangs. The bullet had hit him in the upper right arm; he only spun and fell to the ground so Felix would think he’d gotten a more serious hit.
With his good arm, the man pulled himself along the ground and bit into Felix’s calf muscle and with a powerful yank ripped a large portion of skin and muscle away. Felix screamed as searing pain shot through his leg. He dropped the gun and fell back, his leg now useless. He struggled to stand, wobbling on his one good leg for a second before attempting to get away, dragging his other foot behind. Blood was running down the back of his leg, leaving a trail on the floor behind him.
The silver haired vampire stood, letting his injured arm hang limp beside himself. In two wide strides he was beside Felix, bending down he grabbed the ankle of his good leg and pulled it out from under him. Felix slammed to the floor with a loud thud, the vampire still holding onto his ankle.
After spitting out the mouthful of bloody flesh, the vampire bit into Felix’s ankle, his two large fangs piercing just behind his tendon. With another yank, he severed it, ensuring Felix wouldn’t escape.
Felix cried out again before gritting his teeth to hold it in, groaning constantly in pain. The vampire dropped his ankle to the ground, and all he could do was slowly try and drag himself away with his arms. He was only gaining inches at a time, the pain almost too much for him to even try.
During all the commotion Aden had begun to stir, groaning softly and reaching up to rub his throbbing head. His body ached all over, and all he could think about was this incredible hunger burning within him. It was so powerful he almost trembled in pain, he felt like he was going to die if he didn’t get something to eat.
“Ah, my pet, nice of you to finally join us.”
Aden groaned, looking up to the man speaking. Everything seemed like a forgotten dream trying to come back to memory. He remembered someone grabbing him from behind, and then something hit his head, hard. He woke up in a room with a lot of people standing around him, and his entire body was hurting. “Pet? What … who are you?”
The man squatted next to Aden. “My name is Aldaris, who I am isn’t important right now. You have to feed, or you’ll shortly die. You’re friend there would make a nice meal for you,” Aldaris pointed to Felix lying on the floor, blood trails smeared into the floor from him trying to escape.
Aden couldn’t think of anything besides the hunger, he needed to eat. Butix wix was his friend, he couldn’t hurt him. “No, I-I can’t. He’s… I can’t…” Aden trailed off, losing his train of thought. The only thing there seemed to be room for in his mind was the hunger. It was so powerful, so strong. He couldn’t resist any longer. Everything was blocked out by the hunger, Felix, Aldaris, at that moment the only thing in existence was the hunger, and Felix laying on the floor, waiting to feed it.
Aden looked up at Felix and hissed, revealing the long, pointed canines of a vampire. His eyes were no longer blue, with the hunger burning through them they faded into solid white orbs.
He wasn’t Aden anymore, and Felix could see that. He knew there was nothing he could say that would bring his friend back to reasoning. Aden leapt across the room, landing on Felix and straddling him.
“Aden no!” Felix shouted, but it was too late. Aden wrapped his arms around Felix and pulled him into an embrace, lowering his mouth to the side of Felix’s neck and parting his lips. He could almost taste the blood already he wanted it so badly. With another hiss he opened his mouth wider and clamped down onto Felix’s flesh.
Felix gasped, the fangs piercing easily into his flesh deeper and deeper until they punctured the main artery. Aden began gulping down the warm liquid that poured out of the wound, his hunger slowly being satisfied.
It wasn’t long before the heavy blood loss became evident in Felix. His struggling had subsided, and his eyes were beginning to droop as he became tired. His breathing was slow; all he could do was lay in Aden’s arms as his friend drank his life away.
A few moments longer and Felix became limp, his eyes slipping closed and his breathing coming to a stop. It was then that the light blue returned to Aden’s eyes, the hunger being fed.
Before he could comprehend what had happened, he began to feel dizzy. The room began to spin, and he collapsed atop Felix’s dead body.
Aldaris had kept a wide grin on his face during the whole ordeal, proud of his new creation.
