Sunshine and Shadow
Chapter Seven
~~~~~~The cave smelled of sea and stone. I stood upon it's mouth, listening to the crash of the sea, tasting the spray of salt in the air. My feet stood bare against the roughness of the cave's bottom. Rocks dug into my skin looking for (and finding) a new home.
Strong arms encircled my bare waist from behind, and I leaned into Shi, smiling.
"A beautiful morning," I whispered, listening to the sound of the ocean.
"Yes, Lyn, it is." Her voice sang with pleasure and happiness. Her melody was bright and it warmed my heart. Her melody was so rarely anything but rough and dark. She had seen too much as a warrior.
I breathed deeply, smelling her, the cave, the sea. "I love you," I sang to her, opening myself to her, as culture dictated. And I smiled with delight as she pulled within herself and opened to me. We joined our essences, our souls and were forever bound as one.~~~~~~~~
Clinking roused me, and the ache in my back now rivaled that of my arms and legs. My dry throat refused to be ignored any longer and my eyes searched the room, hoping to find a drink of water I could reach. All I could see were the candles flickering, flames dying as the wax was running low.
The clinking turned into a rattling and I struggled to see Shi on the other side of the bed. She seemed to be thrashing, struggling with some nightmare. Whimpers echoed from her side of the room, I leaned forward using the little room the chains gave me to see if she were alright.
I began to laugh, softly at first, and then more loudly. My chest heaved up and down causing my chains to tinkle softly. I laughed loudly from my stomach, through my aching throat. A dry, unhappy laugh. Alright? Of course she wasn't alright. Tears came to my eyes and I tried to catch them on my tongue, breathing heavily.
"You laugh again," the Queen's voice came from the doorway. "What is humorous about your predicament?" She seemed to be trustworthy, someone I could confide in. It took many times of reminding myself that I was naked in chains not to tell her all of my cares and secrets.
"Come, Sunshine, you can trust me." The statement was truth. Her voice was truth. She would not lie. She was a protector, she would keep safe from harm. Anywhere, not just within her own formiddable realm. I could tell her anything I wished.
I tried to pull closer to her, and was shocked into remembering. I was in her room, chained to the wall. This was not a person I could trust. Was it? Was she keeping me safe in the only way she could? She might need to keep me safe from myself.
"I found a thought to be humourous," I told her, knowing she wanted me to tell her something.
The Queen walked up to me and knelt beside me. She was still wearing her white dress, but had removed the belt, causing it to fall lower, exposing her shoulders and the top of her bosom. She stroked my hair, and stared at me expectantly.
I really should tell her everything. She was trying to help me. I looked into her eyes and she gently pushed my head down. "No," she said simply. I should not look into her eyes, she was so much my superior. I looked at the folds of her dress, still a pristine white.
"I was wondering if Shi was alright," I told her, half laughing still.
"No," she said again and she sent pain with her voice. Her name was not Shi'Ri'An any longer. She was only Shadow.
"I was wondering if Shadow was alright," I whispered trying to sound apologetic.
The Queen raised my face, and I kept my eyes downcast with a struggle. "She is okay, shesafesafe with us Sunshine." Her voice promised no harm would come to us here. It promised the moon and the stars. She would make everything good and wonderful. Her mouth clasped over mine and I shuddered. Her tongue began to explore, wrapping around my own, tasting all of me from the roof of my mouth to the underside of my tongue. I tried not to respond, but I knew she would want me to. I should do what she wanted. I pushed into the kiss, and reached within myself.
Upon finding nothing, a feeling of horror passed over me, and I tried to pull away from the invansion. The Queen held my head tightly and continued to probe my mouth. I closed my eyes tightly and tears seeped through my eyelashes. Shame filled my heart, shame at being so oblivous to her power. Shame at having wanted her to do this. I began to choke for air, and the Queen pulled away. "Breathe, Sunshine."
I knew then that if she commanded me not to, I would hold my breath until I passed out and my body took over. I breathed and the air tasted of sex and pain. I felt the Queen's eyes upon me, and I could not look Or wOr was it that I should not? I closed my eyes and tried to not feel anything. I just didn't want to feel anymore. I closed my eyes more tightly as I felt hands running over my bare skin.
I had never been embarrassed about my nudity before and the feeling was disconcerting. I wished desperately that I had even my undergarments on. The Queen's hands were rough and calloused. Her nails scraped at my skin, drawing blood and I shuddered, trying to close my eyes more tightly. I struggled then, attempting to pull away and the chains began to clang loudly.
"No, Sunshine," the Queen whispered and her disapointment filled me with dread. I had displeased her. I leaned forward, the chains gave me just enough slack to lay my head in her lap. She stroked my hair, and I knew I could please her. My head was beginning to ache slightly and I wondered at that for a few moments. I had gotten headaches when I was first learning sorcery, but I hadn't had one in years.
"Sunshine," she whispered, and I knew what she wanted. I knew what I needed to do. She lifted her white skirt up with her hands and pulled a little closer to me. My chains gave me just enough slack that I could reach her cunt with only a slight amount of pain. I lifted my mouth to her and pulled her labia open with my lips, reaching as deeply as I could, trying to find the spot that would elicit the most pleasure.
Hair tickled my mouth as I reached, further and further back, pulling on my chains, hearing the Queen moan with pleasure. I felt myself become wet and excited, and pushed in further, searching her with my tongue. A scream erupted from her, and she began to taste even more bitter. I slowly pulled my mouth away, knowing I had done as she wished. I panted, exhausted with pain and desire.
"Mmmm," she said softly, pleased with my performance. Her delicate hands began to stroke my ears and I shuddered, the horror of what I had done suddenly coursing through me. Tears welled in my eyes and I was unable to keep there, letting them fall freely. Her laugh was vicious as she walked away. "Oh, Sunshine, you truly were worth the effort."
