Me again *waves* Ya'll are going to want to kill me by the end of the day... I may or may not do a new bit of a story ... more into the gods and from the past, I know, confusing as can be but ... yeah... I think some people might enjoy Rahl-ta. What with being the god of homosexuality and hot, hot guys going at it like bunnies. This has a lot of talking. His mom is a bit... different from before but she's not quite recovered from her trip. Yeah.If you're asking if people can do what Mik's mother claim they can do, after a life of such and such, yes it's true. Not everyone can, but a good deal can. Only problem is, most of the time they can't deal with the whole range or if they can, they automatically assign the bad to it. Read, Review and enjoyA couple of hours and a quick shower was all she needed to be prim and proper again. Mik loved his mother, he did. But there was a reason why there was no coffee in her house. There was a reason why all travel plans were worked around the fact that no one should wake her before eight am unless it was to see the sunrise. Or if the garden was burning. But Mik didn’t want to think about the morons who had done that. She rode with the Sidhe on the bus, despite the fact that Koln had insisted she take a separate car. By the time the bus arrived at the garden she had Violet’s partner engaged in a lively conversation about the ‘old days’ and Violet was sitting between the two, one hand entangled with Mik’s mother’s hand and the curled around the woman’s purse. Which was shiny and precious to Violet. For some damned reason. Slipping off the bus, Mik stopped to try to talk to his mother alone, but Paw was there a moment later, hand clasping Mik’s hand. Souse moved off to the plant, as did most of the other Sidhe, to check on it and make certain that it was still there. Paw watched the other Sidhe and seemed to want to join them. But he refused to leave Mik’s side. “Paw, go, I’ll come over in a minute,” Mik murmured to Paw.The Sidhe whined at the back of his throat but finally let Mik’s hand go and slipped off. Mik sighed as Paw moved away. “Mom…”“A Sidhe is a fine pair, but…”Mik tried not to tell his mother that she was sleeping with a Sidhe…“I mean… Jay is infertile but we still haven’t… you know…”For one stunning moment the image popped into his head. Mik rubbed his face in aggravation and sighed again, “Mom…” wait… “What?”“He told me that he had told you,” she murmured, “he had to tell me when he introduced me to his family. Some of them are obviously not people,” her voice lowered, “I was just saying what they told me. I can agree with the hybrid bit, bit but what the hell should it matter if the one you love is male or female, if they have one leg or two? We are both races with needs and wants and the ability to love one another. So if we do love one another, why can it not be encouraged?”“Because of the result, mom. Hybrids. Half-breeds. Unstable beings that somehow are never whole. Why are you so upset about this?”“Whisper says I can’t live with them. I want to. So much land to grow things on,” She folded her arms tightly against her chest, “and I would never wish one ill but I find it hard to think kindly upon him. I know he’s just doing his job but…”Essuan slipped up and put an arm on Mik’s shoulder casually and looked between the two of them, “Whisper?” she murmured.“Yes, Essuan, Whisper, just a little,” Mik made a motion for little. Essuan burst out laughing, the first time Mik could recall the female laughing, she patted Mik’s shoulder heartily and walked towards the group of Sidhe who seemed to be looking through the grass for something. She said something to them in Sidhe and they all found it hilariously funny. Except for Paw. The look on Paw’s face was horror but the Sidhe quickly masked it with a careful, but obviously fake smile. Could Sidhe tell the difference between a real smile and a fake one? Or would they see the smile and think that Paw shared the same emotion as them?“Shit,” Mik muttered.“I think… she thinks you said that Whisper is small.”“Yeah…”“What does Paw think you said?”“Same thing.”“He likes Whisper?”“Adores him, like every other Sidhe, mom. Look,” Mik sighed and wondered how to word it, “it is entirely possible that Paw has been acting strangely, strange as in different from how he normally does, because you’re my mother. I don’t know what the Sidhe… ritual… is for meeting parents, but think of how important that is to us, even today. Meeting the parents is a big deal. For the Sidhe, something as simple as a greeting is. Well. Almost played out. They show every step of it and very obviously. The first Sidhe I saw that didn’t play out the full range was Jay.”“Well, they are obviously doing it for your benefit,” his mother shook her head at Mik as if he had missed the obvious, “you wouldn’t know how to act unless one of them told you, or showed you. And showing means that you learn faster, learn better.”“Mom. The point you seem to be missing… Paw isn’t over reacting. I didn’t see him check you out before he ducked behind me. He would have done that, he would have given me some sign of what he’s feeling and he hasn’t. If you go into this full on instead of waiting like the rest of us, I have no idea what will happen.”“Oh please, Mik, I think I know how to interact with Sidhe.”“Jay’s Sidhe are called tame, mom, there are wild Sidhe here.”“The two tallest, Jay’s family lends towards calling them innocent or untouched rather than wild. Wild implies that they are… well… wild.”“Mom.”“What?”“It has taken us months to get here and right now we aren’t exactly on stable ground.”“Mm, what with those two there and that one there having tried for dominance recently,” his mother motioned just slightly with her head, hardly even turning herself towards them. A very subtle pointing out of the males who had been involved in the fight, “and the two separate families in one. Violet seems a bit young to lead, but then so does Paw.”“What? Paw is not leader.”“He was. You can tell by the way he holds himself away from the others, the way the others give way to him without realising it, even as they are trying so very hard to make it obvious that he’s a lower member. It’s not quite like Souse, who reminds me of Jay’s leader. Rules the roost and knows it.”“How can you even…”“It’s not hard, Mik,” she murmured, “for someone who has been abused most of their life to learn how to read body language. Did you know they can have entire conversations in silence and not realise that they are not being verbal? I think it is amazing. Instead of growing up and out, they grew inward, strengthened themselves. We are a tree whose roots go deep and whose trunk is high, but they are the tree whose roots go deep and intertwine amongst the trees nearby as it grows higher and higher. A storm would uproot us. But it phases them not a bit.”“A storm can still uproot a well rooted tree.”“It would have to be a very big storm.”“Mm, but it could happen, Koln, what do you want?” Mik muttered without turning around. The man sounded startled, “the seeds are here, a few plants. But… cold season is nearly on us…”“Not going to snow this year,” Mik’s mother murmured, “too mild of weather. We should be fine, let me see your plants and seeds and I’ll tell you which ones to actually buy.”She went off with Koln and Mik…Mik sighed and rubbed his face and tried to clear his mind of all thoughts before approaching the old time tree sapling. As he moved towards it, Paw moved towards him, so Mik came to a stop. Paw smiled as he pecked Mik’s cheek, “Mommy very smart.”“Mm?”“Yes,” a kiss to his neck, “confusing, but smart. Not like people.”“No, she’s not like normal people.”Paw scoffed, “how did Mik come from such a cheery, lovely woman?”“Hey! Wait… my father was a prick?”“Ahhhhh, right, child of bastard cunt fucker.”“Bastard what?”“Nothing.”Mik sighed, “you found out how to use chat online, didn’t you.”“Maybes. Maybes not. Paw go and play with Lillow now, as Mik giving Paw that look.”“What look?”“One that means Paw in trouble, that Paw not supposed to do something.”“Chat is filled with …”“Idiots. Morons. But idiots and morons are voters and Paw…” Paw shrugged, “might have manipulated just a bit.”“A bit, what’s a bit?”.
