Waza Tennison - Part 2

Chapter 62 – Waza Tennison – Part 2

“I can’t believe that guy punched me.” Waza placed the ice over his nose and thanked his friend. “I fucking just can’t believe he did it.”

Shu sighed and stood in the doorway of his kitchen. The doorway was directly adjacent to the living room and only lead into a kitchen large enough for one person. His apartment was small by any standards and it always made him feel awkward to have Waza there with him, a man who lived in a mansion that rivaled the size of Ashe and Rhapsody’s home, though it did not share the same warmth, which was saying something for coldness.

“Why are you here wallowing in self pity?” Shu asked him a bit coldly. “Should your mom not be taking you to the hospital?”
“Mom’s on the phone with my father,” Waza explained flippantly. “She thinks he will be able to help her out of this mess now that the Chenbaro-Tennison-Inperiaru clan seems to be at one another’s throats. She did not even notice I left.”

“All right, but what are you doing here?” Shu asked of his ‘friend’.

“I cam to bring you this.” Waza stood from the couch and reached into his pocket. He pulled out a small bag and tossed it towards Shu who looked down in utter shock.

“What is this?” Shu asked incredulously. “This is not what you usually have to give me.”

“It’s ecstasy,” Waza explained.

“I can’t afford to pay you back for something this expensive,” Shu insisted.

Waza gave off a Gallic shrug and began to the front door. “You don’t have to,” he smiled. “You just have to keep doing what you are doing and I will give you whatever drug of choice you want.”

Shu held out his hand, the baggie between his fingers as if he were holding a napkin that had just cleaned up something nasty. “This is not my drug of choice.”

“Are you going to be a pothead all your life?” Waza asked haughtily. “Your mom would be so proud to know what you do for these drugs.”

“I don’t want it.”

“Fine, I’ll leave it with you and you can use it or not use it, it doesn’t really matter to me. Next time I come by I will bring you your particular drug of choice, marijuana, and then you can go about your lousy existence barely paying your rent because you insist on paying me. Have you told your mom you have nearly flunked out of community college?”

Shu sneered and pocketed the little white pills filled with amphetamines that will either take him high or stop his heart. “It’s hard to go to school and work and worry about bills,” Shu said coming off sounding a little whiny.

“If you only apologized to Kyoei and Shai you would be allowed in their house again,” Waza pointed out.

Shu sneered. “That man, who acts so much like my father, cares not what happens to me. I lied to them, for that I deserve a lifetime of punishment.”

Waza winked at his friend and reached for the doorknob. “You know, Shu, if you are complacent with me I will give you the thing you most desire.”

“You can’t do that,” Shu said, shaking his head. “You do not even know what I desire.”

“You desire Rhapsody and Bliss,” Waza said flatly. Shu growled deep under his breath but Waza was not stopping. “I know your feelings for both of them. You wanted Rhapsody, she was untouchable, and then when Bliss left you you wanted her more. Sorry Shu, you can’t have both, but with one of those pills you could have both.”

“I’m not sinking that low,” snapped Shu. “You may do that type of thing, but I will not.”

Waza shrugged and opened the door. “Life is up to you, but remember, I can make every dream you want come true. You just continue what you are doing.”

“Supplying you with information that you yourself can not find?”

“Of course,” Waza laughed. “I’ve ruined most of you, I just have a few more to go.” Talking to Shu left Waza feeling a little more inflated than he had when he had come over. He had once ruined Ashe without anyone ever discovering it was he who did so, he had ruined Sora, Harmony, Yuna, and was slowly ruining Darrke. Tiera, Bliss, Link, Frost, and Lilis remained. Rhapsody had been ruined indirectly by him, he was the one who kept whispering to Devilin how much Rhapsody resembled her mother, and had something her mother did not, ‘innocence’. That girl would end up more damaged than any of them.

No, the parents could not figure out what it was that had disgruntled and destroyed their children, and all that time the one answer was sitting in front of them: Waza.
