A/N: It’s wrapping up… so close X3 I can’t wait!! Enjoy!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The room was small as he sat in the corner. His hand rested on his swell. Something was going to happen soon. He started to rub the swell. How he got there wasn’t that bad. He felt discomfort in his lower back. So he stood and swayed. Okay sitting down was better. He still couldn’t believe he got jumped that way.
Akira had sat on the back of some large animal. Blindfolded and tied up. Whoever had caught him was quiet and didn’t say a word. Hours later there were voices of people giving orders. There was a sharp pain in his arm and then he blacked out. When he woke up he was inside this small room.
Now he was sitting and waiting. Waiting. He didn’t want to wait but he needed to. The second full moon had been and gone since he got stuck in that room. What was taking so long? His fingers clenched at his shirt. He was seven months along would soon be eight in a week.
He winced and then gasped at the sharp pain coming from his lower back. The pain was back again. His body hurt. It should stop soon. Please stop soon. He cried out as the pain grew worse. “No. No, not now!” The door opened and someone rushed over. They placed their hands on him. He smacked them away. There was a muffled sound and he watched as they pulled out a needle from their pocket. He tried to smack them away again. Darkness soon took over as his body went limp.
No matter how much he told himself it wasn’t going to happen, he knew it was going to happen.
^^^^
Zev growled as he watched people run in and out. “Zev, what are those things?” AJ and Zev watched as people carried items in.
He felt his heart stop, “Those are units that are used in NICU.”
“What do you mean?”
“Me and my brother were stuck in them. Mom’s got pictures and everything.” He looked at AJ, “I should have gone at the time I wanted!”
“Zev listen. You don’t just charge in all gung ho like especially when you’re injured like you were. You’ll get your ass killed on the spot. Levana said to wait till the third moon. Watch while we wait, learn the shift changes, and wait for the damn twit that just ran in there the first week here.”
“That twit is the only one who can find Akira without getting caught.”
“What was his name again?”
“Mitch.” He made a face, “Ugh I’m bored of this! I want Akira!”
“Will you shut up you big baby?”
“Fuck you!”
AJ glared at him but kept silent. The only reason Zev was this way was because of Akira. They needed to get him out before he strangled Zev for being annoying.
^^^^
Mitch stood in the hall as he watched them cart items into another room. He walked over and looked in. There were other kids in the room. It was like a play room only with guards at every door. Sick bastard was planning something. He caught someone as they walked out. “What’s going on?”
“Three more will be joining the others in there in a few months.”
“Three?”
“Yeah. Triplets.”
‘Holy shit.’ “Who?”
“Someone they brought in. Weird thing is it’s a guy having the kids.” With that they left him standing there with his jaw hanging. The only things going through his mind was. Akira… three… what? Didn’t they say two?
He unhinged himself and walked down the hall following the person. They walked into another room. This one had three units he watched as machines were pushed into the room. Then he heard the sounds. He rushed to the corner. “I can’t do this.”
“Relax. He got away once he can do it again.”
“I can’t.” He glanced around the corner to see two people talking. They had on paper caps over their hair and paper gowns over there cloths. “I told Rin if he ever came back I would do everything to make sure he didn’t suffer again. If he broke him once he can do it again.” His eyes narrowed. There was a shout from down the hall. Akira was on a bed being rushed towards the two men. He had a mask over his face and an IV in his arm.
“We need to get them out! Now!” The two men rushed into the room after the bed. Mitch slipped up to the door and glanced through the window. The brunette was connected to machines that were soon beeping. A man stood over him as he started to quickly pull the shirt off.
“Hey you!” He jumped and turned around. “Yeah you.” A guard was standing there looking at him.
His body went rigged, “Yes!”
“What the hell are you doing over here get back to your spot!?”
“Sorry I still get lost.”
“No excuses now get back to your spot!”
“Yes!” Mitch quickly rushed off.
A few minutes later he was standing outside. By himself. Again. He pulled out his flashlight and clicked it on twice. He watched the edge of the woods and then spotted the quick light. Looking around he let out a whistle. Another followed and then a bird flew out. But this wasn’t a bird. Hawk settled on his shoulder in the bird outfit.
“How long do I have to wear this?!” She hissed in his ear.
“Not for long. Tell Zev Akira’s having three. Now. I’ll watch the kids Akira is on his own.” She nodded and shot towards the trees. A second later he could have sworn he heard a shout but it must have been the wind.
^^^^
Akira blinked as he looked around. Since he couldn’t move his head all that well he could only see the ceiling. Then his mind started to become less stuffy and full of cotton. There was a soft whisper. He blinked. There it was again. Turning his head he saw three small babies laying on a blanket together. The whisper came again and he looked at the smallest of the three. He couldn’t be that small. Then there was the biggest of the three. His eyes took in a two tone tail and two ears that would twitch.
His arms tried to move. Looking down he found him shackled to the table. He looked at his stomach and found it bandaged and flat. A growl came from him as he yanked at the shackles. His arm flexed and there was a groan of metal. Then it broke. Next arm. The shackle broke. The brunette climbed off the bed and tried to stand. His legs gave out. ‘Fuck…’ He pulled himself up then over to them. His hand gripped the edge to hold himself up. As he looked down at them he felt tears as they dripped down his face. Reaching up he whipped them away. “I’m sorry… you shouldn’t of been born here.” A tear dropped onto one of them and the eyes opened slowly.
Miss matched eyes looked up at him. The whisper was stronger.
“I hear you. I hear you.” He looked around and found his pants. Grabbing them he pulled them on over the boxers. Once again he was looking, this time for something to tie them up. His eyes found some rope. Threading it through the belt loops he tied the rope and then grabbed his shirt. Turning he reached for the three on the table.
“I wouldn’t do that.”
He stopped and looked over his shoulder.
“If you take them out like that they’ll get sicker.”
“Sick?”
“How long has it been about twenty-seven weeks?”
“Maybe?”
“If you take them now they’ll get sick. Their healing is a lot better than normal babies but they should be fine in a month’s time.”
“Too long they’ve been here for too long already.” He looked at them and shook as he touched the small wolf ears on the biggest one. “Just like Zev.” The whisper grew louder. “I’m not leaving.” His gray eyes saw the large and sharp scissors. There was movement behind him. Glancing back he saw three guards standing around the doctor. He grinned. They moved forward as he snagged the scissors. “He won’t have them!”
The item flew across the room they stopped an inch away from the doctor. His head snapped to the side when he heard the laugh. “Hello Akira.”
“Diter.” The name came out as a growl.
“You’re as cuddly as ever.”
“Go to hell!”
“Been there you were there to.” He watched him as he walked forward. Akira made sure to keep himself between his kids and Diter. “Get him.”
The guards jumped and he tossed two to the side. They crashed into a try of surgical instruments. The other one managed to grab his arms to restrain him. The loud sound caused the other two babies to wake and start screaming. Akira jerked against the guards grip. He let out a growl as he tried to fight back. He pulled himself up and kicked out at the other two. The babies screaming got louder and Diter growled.
“Stupid brats I’ll shut you up for good.” His hand moved towards the babies.
There was a loud hiss in his head and he looked over. He screamed, “Don’t you fucking touch them!!” Diter flew across the room to crash into a window. Cracks spider webbed out from where Diter’s back hit it. His knees bent then he jumped up as he snapped his head back. The guard cursed as he grabbed his chin. Turning around Akira’s leg whipped out and the heel of his foot smashed into their face. He turned to run over to his kids when his body jerked.
His vision swam and he stumbled. “What…?” He grabbed the edge of the table as he looked back at a man with glasses. Walking forward he reached out to grab something. Then his legs gave out. The brunette snagged a tray stand that was nearby only it fell with him. Everything on it clattered to the ground around him. “No…” Reaching up he felt the last of his mind shut down.
The man watched as that hand dropped to the ground. He turned to Diter. “Get the fuck out of here.”
“You ain’t my boss.”
“When a person is in my care you don’t touch them! Now get the fuck out!” The man had dark silver hair and thin wire rimmed glasses. He pulled a gun from a guard, “Get out or I’ll shoot.” Diter spit on the floor next to the man and then left. He gave a sigh as tired brown eyes looked at Akira’s body. Turning he sat both guns on the table. Walking over he knelt down to pull the dart out. “Sorry Akira.” Reaching down he picked him up and placed him back on the bed. “Check for any tears and take him back to his room. I’ll take these ones to where they need to be.” He glanced at the other man who was shaking slightly. “Go get some rest.”
“Y-yes sir.” The man ran out of the room as two doctors pushed Akira out of the room.
“Damn.” He glanced at the three babies and sighed. “I wish we had met under better conditions. Yes?” They had finally calmed down after Akira was knocked out. It’s rare for the kids to be this aware of their parents. But to form a psychic link is rarer.
Three separate units were rolled in. He placed one in each and gave instruction to keep them close to each other. Turning he sighed again as he pulled his glasses off. His head hurt.
He didn’t know why he waited at the room for the male. But here he was waiting. Once the guards were gone he walked into the room. Looking at the watch on his wrist he glanced at the slowly waking male. He sat up and looked around. “Finally awake.”
Gray eyes looked at him.
They grew dark as he watched him. “Easy I just want to talk.”
“Give them back.”
“I can’t if I did they could get worse.”
“Then let me see them!”
“It’s not up to me.”
“Get the fuck out if you’re not going to help me see them!”
“I can’t help you that way but I can help another way. This way you can see them yourself and possibly escape.”
“How?” He wasn’t stupid that was for sure.
“You’ve grown a lot Akira.”
He was off the bed and backing away, “How the fuck do you know my name?”
“You don’t remember do you? To think he pushed you that far.”
“What do you mean?” His hesitation was clear.
“Never mind. You’ll understand when you remember everything. First I should tell you my name. I’m Dr. Eron. I’ve known you since you were a toddler. I know why you can’t remember.”
“It’s because of the seal.”
“It’s gone.”
“What do you mean? Every one said I’d remember when the seal was gone.”
“Your mind doesn’t want you to remember. In truth what you went through is enough to drive even the strongest insane. Though, I wonder if it would only make you stronger instead of breaking the rest of your mind.”
“How…?”
He stood up and looked at Akira, “Only you know, it being your mind and all.” The doctor tapped his own head, “You know the code to unlocking the lock.” Akira watched as Dr. Eron left the room leaving him in there. A few hours later he was being dragged out by a group of guards. One of them ended up with a broken arm.
^^^^
Zev growled as he struggled against the rope that bound him to a tree. “Let me go!!” He tried everything but it didn’t work. His body slumped over as he panted. “Fuck…”
“Have you calmed down now?”
He glared at Star. Keir was sitting with AJ watching the building. Ransom was sitting ready in his humanoid animal form. Those ears twitched and he turned around as Karen walked into the clearing with Nathan following her. “Okay I have everything set up about ten miles from here. Once we get them out we need to move them fast.”
AJ sat up and then turned, “Hey that guy said everything is a go on the full moon.”
“That’s at the end of the week.” Star glanced at Ransom as he spoke. “What are the chances of all of us getting out?”
“We should be fine. The less there are the higher the chance.”
“Good.”
The black wolf sighed and let his head fall forward. “I give I’ll wait.”
They looked at him, “We’re not falling for it again!”
‘Damn it.’ He looked at his feet. ‘Akira please be alright.’
^^^^
Daisuke stood looking at the building. “Rainer.”
“Yeah.”
“I thought he died with Ellen. To think the bastard raised him this way.”
“I wonder who he looks like.” Black eyes glared at him as he chuckled, “Joking.”
“Sure you are.”
“Will you two shut up I’m trying to focus!?”
They looked back at Tito. He was sitting with his eyes closed. “You’re doing fine.”
“Astral Projection is harder than it looks now shut up!” He placed his finger tips together as his body fell into a light trance.
^^^^
Akira gasped in pain as his body hit the wall. He coughed and stood up. His hands caught himself as he tried to rush forward. The door was opened and the guards were laughing at him. Just like before. Just like before he’ll rip their throats out. He stopped. No I’m not doing that anymore. The cravings were finally under control. He couldn’t lose anymore. Another person was shoved into the room. The door slammed shut.
A few seconds later a knife dropped to the ground.
Two people one knife. Instinct kicked in and he dove for the knife. The other person a male that was a good head taller than him jumped on top of him. He gripped the knife as he smashed his elbow against his head. They got back on their feet and rushed forward just as Akira got to his feet.
Those eyes blinked. They looked down and a smile appeared on his face. His hand gripped at Akira’s shirt as he fell to his knees, dislodging the knife. Blood splattered on the ground as he coughed. That person laid there clutching his bleeding wound. He was wheezing as Akira pulled him into a choke hold.
“Sorry. But I need to live.” There was a snap as he gave the head a hard jerk to the side.
He dropped the knife and looked at his hands. Blood covered his hands. Akira dropped to the ground as pulled his shirt off. He shook as he tried to wipe it off. Not again. Not again. He let out a whimper. After he wiped most of it off he gave up and put enough room between him and the dead body. He pulled his knees close and rested his head on his arms. The bloodied knife lay next to him.
Hours past and there was a sound off to his side. Standing up he looked at the whole in the wall. He snagged the knife next to him and looked into the other room. When he saw nothing he slowly walked into the empty room, glad to get out of the room with the dead body.
There was a slam behind him and he jumped back. The floor opened up underneath him. He caught the edge and hung there. “No…” The edge he was holding onto started to move. He looked behind him to see the same. When there was only two inches left. He let go and fell. His back slammed against something hard. He barely had time to register the pain when he was sliding down a chute into darkness.
^^^^
Tito snapped back and gasped for air. “We have to get in there.”
“What’s going on?”
“He’s toy with him. I just watched Akira kill someone just to stay alive.”
Daisuke was about to rush out when Rainer pulled him back. “Daisuke we can’t just rush in without knowing the layout of the building. Let Tito rest and we’ll find out the lay of the building first thing in the morning.” He looked at the building. “Not now Daisuke.”
His body didn’t relax until Rainer shook him slightly, “Okay.”
“We’re going to need that strategic thinking of yours. You were better than all of us growing up.”
~~~~
Akira winced as he looked up. It was bright. The sun was shining down on him. “Sun…?” He squinted and sat up. The grass was tall as it waved in the breeze. A soft song reached his ears. He climbed to his feet and followed the tune. He could see a woman with a small child playing in the grass. She stopped and turned around.
“It’s not good to sneak up on people. You never know if they have a weapon.”
His gray eyes took in the sight of the very round woman. He walked over and looked at her face. It took a while for him to catch his breath. His mother was sitting right in front of him. Looking over he watched as that small figure disappeared into a tall patch of grass.
“Akira I need to see you.” A head popped out and looked at her. Then he ran over.
He caught sight of his hands they were clean. “Uh…”
“It’s time to go home.” There was a disagreeing shout from the boy. Ellen shook her head, “See even then you were a pain. You had a do it you own way attitude. Fine we won’t eat dinner then.” She stood and rested her hand on the swell of her stomach. “Tell me have you met your brother yet?” He was surprised with what she said.
Then Akira shook his head as he put his hands in his pockets. He didn’t even know he had one. She motioned to the round swell. The woman reached out her hand as the small boy ran up to her. He snagged her hand with both of his small ones. “You’ll need his help. I saw everything. From the day you were born to the day you took your last breath. I didn’t want it to end that way. I didn’t want you to turn out like this either but know I see that this might be a better way.”
He watched as the child version of himself just took off running for no reason. “Where…?”
“Even as a child you could pick up on things before others did. If I’m right Daisuke just got home.”
“Oh.”
“What no questions?” She looked at him with a look that seemed too familiar. He looked away as he made a sound of discomfort. “Still the same.”
“Huh?”
“You and you father have the same look when you get embarrassed or you get caught off guard or doing something you shouldn’t. There are others things too.”
“Like hell we’re the same.”
Ellen raised a brow and shook her head, “You’re impossible.”
“Where are we?”
“The cabin.” She looked around at the land, “No one within miles. No one to judge you and your brother.” He watched as she nodded. “It’s quiet at night. Not used to the quiet but I manage.”
“It’s weird.”
“Yeah.” She looked at him and smirked. “You’re going to have a hell of a lot of fun when they learn to crawl.”
“What’s my brother’s name?”
“It doesn’t matter about the name. It only matters about the person who owns the name.”
He nodded and kicked at a stone. His eyes took in every land mark. He wanted to find that field again. Akira glanced at her and then he saw the small cabin that sat off in the distance. It was the same one he was stuck in during the winter with his father. “Why can’t I remember this?”
Ellen looked at him and then laid her hand on his chest over his heart. “As long as this is strong you can remember everything.” Her finger poked him in the forehead. “That only keeps the memories. You have to want to remember. Everything on you remembers something. Your body remembers the touch, your eyes the images, your ears and mouth remember words, and your heart remembers feelings.”
“But I want to remember.”
Her gray eyes watched him, “Saying it and meaning it are two entirely different matters, Akira. Ask yourself next time. Do you really want to remember? Do you really want to remember the things you went through just to get to what you have now?”
He looked away and rubbed the back of his head, “I… don’t know.”
“Remember just because it happened in the past doesn’t change who you are now or who loves you right now. If I’m right that wolf is probably itching to get to you. But you need to find a way for him to get to you.” There was a shout from the cabin. He saw his father waving at them. Ellen waved back, “We’ll this might be the last time I see you. Never know when I’ll be granted to see you again.”
He nodded as he looked at her. He wanted to remember this. Everything. “I don’t know what to say.”
Ellen shook her head, “Hold on to that necklace. You might need to give it to someone one day.” His head nodded. She smiled and then hugged him. Akira jumped slightly as she laughed, “You’ve made me proud to be you mother Akira. No matter what happens you’ll always be my Akira. You and your brother I’m proud of you both.” He didn’t even realize he was crying until he felt them roll down his cheek. When she pulled away he hid his face. “Go kick his ass!” She had a smirk on her face that had him nodding.
“Yeah.”
“I guess this is goodbye…?”
He shook his head, “I won’t say it.”
“Stubborn child.” The woman reached forward with her fist and rapped him on the forehead, “Wake up!”
Akira jerked awake and groaned as the pain hit him. He sat up. Every joint and muscle in his body was screaming at him to stop moving. It hurt. There was a rustling sound off to his left. The pain was shoved to the back of his mind as he crouched looking around. Trees where everywhere. The sound was to his right now.
It grew quiet. He could feel his muscles tense up as the seconds ticked by. A body shot out of the brush behind him. Akira shifted his weight onto his hands and kicked out with his foot. The blow landed against the throat and he looked at the upside down image of a dark skinned woman roughly the same size as him. He flipped over as she tried to catch her breath.
Gray eyes watched as she fell over. Blood pooled around her body from a more recent attack. Moving closer he saw the fangs. No wonder she just attacked like that. He glanced around. It didn’t take long to see that he was back in that same hell hole. Everything was the same. The brunette checked for a weapon only to come up empty handed. He cursed. There was sound off to his side and he froze.
It didn’t take long for him to climb up the tree closest to him. They moved beneath him as they talked. The three guards picked up the dead body and toted her off. He was about to follow when a hand shot out and grabbed him. Akira reacted. The person grunted as he dropped onto the tree branch.
“Zero? Hey you okay?”
“Yeah.”
He watched the two, taking a step back he was about to run. “Wait!” A black haired person the same size as Hawk floated in front of him. “Akira right?”
“Maybe.”
“Look we need your help. He needs your help. Bastard said that he could be let go but now he’s stuck down here.”
“Why should I help?”
“Family.” Zero coughed as he stood. His hand rubbed where Akira punched him. “I’m sorry.”
“He said more than one word!”
“If you want my help then you have to help me.”
“How?” Raven dropped onto Zero’s shoulder.
“Find my kids and get them out. I’ll make a distraction long enough for you all to get out.” The two watched as he climbed higher into the tree. Once at the top he looked around. The room he was in was large enough to fit five maybe six arenas into it. His eyes swept along the tree tops when he saw the glass wrapping around the top.
Zero jumped a little when Akira dropped down next to him. “I need to barrow your friend.” Raven looked at him and then nodded.
“Do you see him?”
“No, I can’t there is no one up there.”
“Okay.” He started to climb down.
“Why do you want him there?”
“It’s the perfect distraction. Attack the leader and guards will focus on you letting anyone else slip out.” He dropped down next to Zero. “He’s not there we’ll have to wait. Can you fight at least a little?”
His head shook.
“You can’t fight.”
“He doesn’t like to fight.” Akira looked at Raven and then sighed. “He’s damn good he just doesn’t like it.”
“Fine. Let’s find a place to hide. Night is the worse time to be out.”
“How do you know its night time?” Just then the whole place was thrown into darkness.
“Like that. Stay close. Raven keep an eye out for anything not friendly.” Once his eyes were used to the change in the lighting he started to walk around the area they were in.
“O-okay.”
Akira started to pull down vines and wrapped them up. He would toss the coiled up bundles to Zero. Then he reached up into his pant leg to pull out his army swiss knife. They watched as he climbed back into the tree. More vines fell down. He climbed down and looked at the vines. “Shit. They’ll have to do.”
Zero quietly followed after him. It was a little unnerving. He glanced back at the dark brunette. His black eyes kept glancing around. “Stop being twitchy.”
He jumped and ducked his head, “Sorry.” There was a snap off to the side.
Raven sat on Zero’s shoulder, “Someone is there.” All three froze at the cry of pain that sounded in the direction.
“Over in the bush. Go.” Akira snagged a vine from Zero. “Go!”
The two ducked behind it just as another person came running out. They watched as Akira uncoiled the vine. “Not thick enough.” He kept his eye on the shifty person. They had a long wicked looking knife. They were going to need that.

Mitch sighed as he stood outside. It was the middle of the night and he was tired. His hand rested on the large knife at his side. There was a sound behind him as he walked. How many of them tried to kill him so far just to escape? He didn’t know. Lost count after the first week. He turned and gave a sigh when another guard waved at him. He waved back and froze as something sharp pressed against his back.
Why did he have to stand by the corner?
“Don’t move.” The harsh whisper was damn too familiar.
“Daisuke?”
“What the hell are you doing here?”
“I’m the only who can’t be read.”
“That’s right.”
“What about you?”
“A letter from Ellen.”
“A love note from the dead?” The blade pushed harder, “Okay okay I get it. What do you want to know?”
“The layout.”
“When?”
“In the morning.”
“I’ll do my best.”
“What do you know so far? Is…?”
“Three all boys. Akira put up one hell of a fight. He’s the latest gossip. Tossed Diter without touching him, almost killed a doctor, and was knocked out by a dart.”
“Damn.”
“Yeah.”
“Watch them.”
“Will do.” When Mitch turned around he was gone. “Sneaky bastard.”
~~~~
Tito lay sleeping when Daisuke came into the small camp. “What’s going on?” Rainer was standing up when he caught the look on his friends face.
“We have someone getting us blueprints.”
“Really who?”
“Ellen’s brother’s kid. Means that wolf isn’t that far behind.”
“Who?”
“You’ll see.” He kicked at his bedding causing it to roll out. “I’ll take next.”
“Okay.”
He watched as Daisuke flopped onto the rolled out bed. Ten minutes later soft breathing reached his ears. Both were asleep. ‘Please let luck be on our side.’
~~~~
Zev jerked awake and looked around. He was still tied to the tree. ‘What am I going to do?’ The ropes slackened and he looked up, “Keir?”
“I’m getting tired of you being this way. We’re going to see Karen.”
“What for?”
“Just get up.”
Ten miles later the two walked into the clearing where a large tent was set up. A stream of water ran by behind it. As they got closer Levana stepped out. “Zev will you come here. Hurry we don’t have much time.”
He walked into the tent just as a head of blond barreled into him. “M-Maria!”
“I couldn’t sit and wait. Help him Zev, please!” Marianela felt a hand on her shoulder and she looked back. Levana smiled at her. She nodded and walked over to a chair. Just then a chair was set in front of him. Karen smiled at him as she pulled something over.
“Sit Zev we need to get started.”
He sat down and Karen took his hand. She clipped something onto his thumb. “What’s going on?”
“I’m going to be watching your vitals.” The woman smiled as she gave his shoulder a firm pat. “Relax.”
“You two have a link. It was there before you claimed him as yours now it’s stronger. You’re probably the only one who can talk to him.” She picked up a bowl. Just then the sounds of beeping filled the tent.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m going to make it stronger. The bad side is you might feel everything he does.”
“Like?”
“If he’s injured you might feel it, his emotions, and other things.” Levana dipped her thumb into the paste like substance and looked at him. “Say ah!”
“Like hell you’re putting that…” She jammed her thumb into his mouth. A growl followed after.
“If you bit me I’ll give you the shot and that will hurt like a bitch.”
He glared at her as his mouth opened wider. The gunk was rubbed along the back of his mouth. When she pulled her hand away he muttered something. She smacked him over the head. “It feels weird.”
“Don’t swallow.”
“How the fuck can I not do it?”
“Easy say hi to Akira for me.” She took both hands and placed both thumbs against his temples. He slumped over and she caught the back of his shirt. “Well that was easy.”
“Is he alright?”Marianela was looking at the wolf. His eyes were still open and glazed over.
“He’s fine I’ll give him till sunrise to find out where Akira is in the building.”
~~~~
Akira tied the long knife to his waist and then climbed out of the small hole that led into a small cave. “Stay here. I’m going to find some kind of water. He wouldn’t drop us in here without that.”
“Okay. Zero’s already out cold.”
“I won’t be long.” He took off running in the direction he was told about. It could be a trap. It was most likely a trap. But he needed to wash the dried blood off of him now. There was a faint sound and he lengthened his stride. Jumping over a bush he slid to a stop as he almost fell head first into the water. Without thinking he dropped to his knees and dunked the top half of his body in the water.
A hand gripped his head as water surrounded him. He tried to fight the grip on his head. He couldn’t breathe. Needed air. Needed to breathe! His head was pulled out as a voice hissed into his ear, “You’re just like her.”
He found himself being shoved into the water. Righting himself he broke the surface to find scraggly looking males looking down at him. “Hello! Having fun!”
His gray eyes grew dark.
“Oooo look he’s mad!” The laughter died when he sunk under the water. “Where the hell did he go?” They didn’t see the fingers that grabbed the banks ledge. He flew out and slammed into the middle one. His fist stopped as he looked at them.
What was he doing? He already killed two. Didn’t he say he wasn’t going to do this anymore? Akira sat back as he did he caught sight of his hands. He shouldn’t be thinking this he should just… There was a soft hiss of metal. He didn’t see the blade as it moved.
There was a flash of silver and Akira looked at the knife he was holding. The brunette was standing on the edge of the river. Blood dripped onto the blade as he looked up. Blinking Akira swiped at his cheek. His blood was smeared across his hand.
“Damn… Missed” The middle man looked at his two buddies and then he rushed forward.
He growled. His hand gripped the hilt of the knife as he ran forward. With an extra push with his palm on the bottom of the hilt the blade stabbed deeply up into the men’s chest. Pulling the blade out, he grabbed their arm and tossed them into the water behind him. A twist of the knife had flecks of blood dropping on the ground. The other two looked at each other. Then they ran.
Grabbing the blade end he threw it. One went down. He ran up grabbed the knife and looked up. The other one was gone. Bending over he grabbed the barely living man and dragged him over to the river. He rolled the body into the water. Gray eyes watched as the body floated down the river. Crouching he washed his blade off and then rubbed at his arms till they were a bright red.
Standing he walked over to the trees. Akira leaned up against one and sighed as he sunk to the ground. He needed a smoke. His head was rested against his leg as he stared at his hand. He should get back never know when someone will try to attack. It pushed at the back of his mind. Soft at first and then it gave a shove. He sat up. “Who’s there?”
There was a soft whisper.
“Where the hell are you hiding?” Standing he looked around.
The sound grew weaker as he stood. Without thinking he started walking. His pace quickened and then he was running. Where was it? He ran faster. Running around a bend he crash into something hard. He laid on the ground. “Alright?”
He sat up and looked at Zero. “I’m fine.”
Zero reached down to pull Akira up. When his hand grabbed Akira’s arm they both jerked away. It felt like a sharp shock snapped up his spine. “What……?”
“The hell was that?” There was a snap off to their side and he jumped to his feet. The two brunettes stepped back. A vine hung between them. They looked at it. “Climb the tree.” He pulled the vine down as Zero climbed up. His hands quickly made a loop and tied it. He finished just as the person appeared in the area.
They looked at each other and then he climbed up the tree. That person ran over. Without any warning something dropped down to wrap around his neck. Akira jumped and pulled the guy up with a sickening crack. Zero dropped out of the tree. He couldn’t look away from the dead swinging body. “You…?
Dark gray eyes looked at him, “What about it?” He saw the way the other brunette flinched when he snapped at him. His hand let go and the body fell to the ground. Walking over, he nudged it with his foot. Looking at his bare feet he then glanced at the shoes the person was wearing. Reaching down he pulled off both boots, then pulled them on. They were slightly big on him.
He went back to looking through the guy’s pockets. “You’re not saying anything. Why?” He glanced at Zero. “You have to be used to this.”
The other brunette shook his head. “N-no.”
“So you didn’t rebel or fight back just followed like a good little boy.”
“No.”
His hand pulled out a cigarette pack. Looking in he grinned. There was one more left. Time to get his fix. He started to look and then he growled. “Fucking kidding me! No fucking lighter!!” Akira looked at Zero, “Then why are you here?!”
Zero pulled at his hair and gave a sad smile as he shrugged. “Finding.”
“Is that all you can do is say one word at a time?”
“No.”
“Then talk so I can understand you!” He shook his head. Then looked around the male was getting shifty again. His eyes narrowed, “Why?”
Those black eyes looked anywhere but him. He knew that look he had seen it before. They met his eyes and then he shook his head.
“What happened?” Why was he getting pissed? He didn’t even know the guy and here he was getting pissed. He watched as the male started to sweat. “Something happened. Who did it?” Black eyes quickly looked away. What happened to him? He flinched when Akira stood up. “Well who ever did whatever they did; they’re not going to be doing that again. Cause if they like their stupid little life they’ll stay clear of this place. I need you to speak in full sentences so that I can understand what’s going on.”
When Zero looked away he sighed.
“Okay fine I get it!! Just help me drag this guy. We need to move him before the guards come.”
He caught the slight flinch when he said that.
‘Was it a guard?’ His eyes narrowed. “Hurry!” Zero moved forward and grabbed an arm. They dragged the guy along until they were a hundred yards away from where they started. Akira quickly tied the vine around the man’s neck in a way so that he could thread another vine around it. He tossed it over a thick branch then pulled. The man hung from the branch.
He went to grab Zero’s arm but the brunette pulled away. “Come on.” They hid behind a bush and waited.
“Akira?”
There was a soft hiss from the brunette. Then he crouched lower. Two guards walked over. Their flashlights landed on the body in the tree. “Shit man.”
“Well let’s get him down. At least there’s no blood this time.” One of them went to climb the tree as Akira slipped out from behind the bush. Zero watched as he moved a little too quietly for his liking.
Then his arms wrapped around and his hand clapped over the guard’s mouth. He dragged him back into the brush. “Scream and I’ll snap your neck.”
They grew still.
“Drop your flashlight.” It fell to the ground. It was kicked over to Zero. Akira caught a whiff of something and that quirky smirk appeared on his face. “I smell smoke do you have a pack on you?” He didn’t move so Akira tightened his grip. That head nodded quickly. “Get it out and drop it on the ground.”
That hand moved up to the open the pocket at the top of his jacket. The pack thumped on the ground along with a lighter. Akira gave him a hard shove and the guy tripped over the brush. He tumbled to the ground. Getting back to his feet he turned around quickly to find the person gone. “Hey man I need your help!”
Turning back he found his buddy in the tree trying to cut the vine. Just then the body dropped and he quickly caught it. “Let’s get the hell out of here!”
“What’s wrong with you?”
“Nothing let’s just go!”
The other guard dropped to the ground and jogged after the guy. Then he asked, “Where’s you light?”
“I lost it when I tripped trying to get the body.”
“Klutz.”
Akira watched from the tree as they left the area. He held the large flashlight up. It was as long as his arm and heavy too. He glanced over at Zero who was sitting on the branch watching. “I don’t kill all the time only when I need to.”
“Why?”
“To live.” He slid off the branch and dropped to the ground. Once Zero was out of the tree they started to walk towards the small cave. “Weren’t you asleep when I left?”
“Woke.”
“Why?” Looking back at Zero he found him shaking his head. “You just woke up.” That head nodded. He turned back and kept walking. That whisper came from behind him. He turned around quickly causing Zero to jump. “Did you say something?”
That head shook quickly.
They made their way back to the cave and crawled into the small opening. Gray eyes glanced at Zero. Then he stretched out up against the wall. There was about a foot of space between him and Zero. The other brunette was once again fast asleep in only a few seconds. He rolled over and waited. Once he was sure nothing was going to happen his eyes finally slid shut.
“Akira…” He made a face and blinked. Gray eyes sleepily looked up at Zev. “Come on that’s it.” They slid closed again, “No! Hey… don’t… open your eyes!” Zev needed to shut up. It was too early and he was up all night trying to make sure they would be safe.
His eyes snapped open. “What the hell are you doing here?!”
“What do you mean? I’m in your mind!” He looked around to find them on a hill. A larger tree was behind them and was stretched out shading him from the bright light. In that tree was his tree house.
Those brows drew in and the smartest reply he could think of at that moment was, “Huh?”
“Yeah I’m a little confused too. Maybe you and Levana can talk about it then you can explain it to me cause psychic abilities are unclear to me.”
“So you’re not here?”
“No.” The brunette gave a sigh and flopped back down. He found Zev leaning over him. “What’s going on?”
“Nothing…”
“Are they okay?” Akira sat up and frowned as he glanced away. “Akira…?” He could hear the worry in his voice. “Are they…?” The question hung there.
“Their okay… well the last time I saw them.” He reached over towards Zev. His fingers slid into his hair and then he pulled him close. Their foreheads touched as he whispered, “Listen I can hear one of them.” Zev stared into gray eyes. Then he heard a sound. It was in the back of his mind but it was soft.
His eyes watered without him realizing it till Zev was holding him close. “I’m going to come and get you all of you and then we’re going to leave. We’ll go wherever you want. Whatever or wherever makes you happy.”
“Zev…” He pushed his face against his shoulder. “I don’t want to wake up.”
“You have to. We need to get you out of there.”
“No…” His grip tightened as he whispered, “I have to… I don’t… I can’t…” He shook his head. Then he looked at him.
“Akira you need to get out of there.”
A few seconds passed and he sighed. “Okay.” Then those gray eyes grew cold. “I’m going to send them to you. Their lives are more important. All three of them. I’m going to distract the guards while I send them out with someone that’s stuck here with me.” His hands grabbed Zev head. Akira closed his eyes as he brought up an image of Zero. “He said he’ll help me find them and save them.”
Zev was about to protest when Akira cut him off.
“I don’t know if I can trust him. But he’s the only one who hasn’t tried to kill me. He doesn’t even know what to do right now.”
“But…”
“Be ready to help him get them to Levana or someone who can help. It could be any day this week.”
“Akira… do I have to wait?”
“Yes.”
The wolf grasped his hands and rubbed his thumb over the back of them. “Its eating you isn’t it? That you have to go back to what you did.” He grew quiet as the brunette lower his head. “Want to talk about it?”
“No…” The whisper was soft.
He decided to change the subject, “What do they look like?” Akira smiled as he gripped Zev’s hands.
“One has ears and a tail.”
There was a loud, “Really?”
“Yeah. He’s the biggest and the loudest. Then there’s the smallest the whole time he didn’t cry. He made no sound. Then the middle one I think that one woke me up or maybe all three. He didn’t stand out like the other two.” He raised Zev’s hand up and rubbed his head against that hand.
“Three… I can’t wait to see them.” Zev leaned forward and kissed Akira. “I love you. I’m going to get that bastard for doing this to you.”
The brunette shook his head. The look on his face made Zev’s blood run cold as Akira growled. “That bastard is mine.”
A/N: It’s wrapping up… so close X3 I can’t wait!! Enjoy!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The room was small as he sat in the corner. His hand rested on his swell. Something was going to happen soon. He started to rub the swell. How he got there wasn’t that bad. He felt discomfort in his lower back. So he stood and swayed. Okay sitting down was better. He still couldn’t believe he got jumped that way.
Akira had sat on the back of some large animal. Blindfolded and tied up. Whoever had caught him was quiet and didn’t say a word. Hours later there were voices of people giving orders. There was a sharp pain in his arm and then he blacked out. When he woke up he was inside this small room.
Now he was sitting and waiting. Waiting. He didn’t want to wait but he needed to. The second full moon had been and gone since he got stuck in that room. What was taking so long? His fingers clenched at his shirt. He was seven months along would soon be eight in a week.
He winced and then gasped at the sharp pain coming from his lower back. The pain was back again. His body hurt. It should stop soon. Please stop soon. He cried out as the pain grew worse. “No. No, not now!” The door opened and someone rushed over. They placed their hands on him. He smacked them away. There was a muffled sound and he watched as they pulled out a needle from their pocket. He tried to smack them away again. Darkness soon took over as his body went limp.
No matter how much he told himself it wasn’t going to happen, he knew it was going to happen.

Zev growled as he watched people run in and out. “Zev, what are those things?” AJ and Zev watched as people carried items in.
He felt his heart stop, “Those are units that are used in NICU.”
“What do you mean?”
“Me and my brother were stuck in them. Mom’s got pictures and everything.” He looked at AJ, “I should have gone at the time I wanted!”
“Zev listen. You don’t just charge in all gung ho like especially when you’re injured like you were. You’ll get your ass killed on the spot. Levana said to wait till the third moon. Watch while we wait, learn the shift changes, and wait for the damn twit that just ran in there the first week here.”
“That twit is the only one who can find Akira without getting caught.”
“What was his name again?”
“Mitch.” He made a face, “Ugh I’m bored of this! I want Akira!”
“Will you shut up you big baby?”
“Fuck you!”
AJ glared at him but kept silent. The only reason Zev was this way was because of Akira. They needed to get him out before he strangled Zev for being annoying.

Mitch stood in the hall as he watched them cart items into another room. He walked over and looked in. There were other kids in the room. It was like a play room only with guards at every door. Sick bastard was planning something. He caught someone as they walked out. “What’s going on?”
“Three more will be joining the others in there in a few months.”
“Three?”
“Yeah. Triplets.”
‘Holy shit.’ “Who?”
“Someone they brought in. Weird thing is it’s a guy having the kids.” With that they left him standing there with his jaw hanging. The only things going through his mind was. Akira… three… what? Didn’t they say two?
He unhinged himself and walked down the hall following the person. They walked into another room. This one had three units he watched as machines were pushed into the room. Then he heard the sounds. He rushed to the corner. “I can’t do this.”
“Relax. He got away once he can do it again.”
“I can’t.” He glanced around the corner to see two people talking. They had on paper caps over their hair and paper gowns over there cloths. “I told Rin if he ever came back I would do everything to make sure he didn’t suffer again. If he broke him once he can do it again.” His eyes narrowed. There was a shout from down the hall. Akira was on a bed being rushed towards the two men. He had a mask over his face and an IV in his arm.
“We need to get them out! Now!” The two men rushed into the room after the bed. Mitch slipped up to the door and glanced through the window. The brunette was connected to machines that were soon beeping. A man stood over him as he started to quickly pull the shirt off.
“Hey you!” He jumped and turned around. “Yeah you.” A guard was standing there looking at him.
His body went rigged, “Yes!”
“What the hell are you doing over here get back to your spot!?”
“Sorry I still get lost.”
“No excuses now get back to your spot!”
“Yes!” Mitch quickly rushed off.
A few minutes later he was standing outside. By himself. Again. He pulled out his flashlight and clicked it on twice. He watched the edge of the woods and then spotted the quick light. Looking around he let out a whistle. Another followed and then a bird flew out. But this wasn’t a bird. Hawk settled on his shoulder in the bird outfit.
“How long do I have to wear this?!” She hissed in his ear.
“Not for long. Tell Zev Akira’s having three. Now. I’ll watch the kids Akira is on his own.” She nodded and shot towards the trees. A second later he could have sworn he heard a shout but it must have been the wind.

Akira blinked as he looked around. Since he couldn’t move his head all that well he could only see the ceiling. Then his mind started to become less stuffy and full of cotton. There was a soft whisper. He blinked. There it was again. Turning his head he saw three small babies laying on a blanket together. The whisper came again and he looked at the smallest of the three. He couldn’t be that small. Then there was the biggest of the three. His eyes took in a two tone tail and two ears that would twitch.
His arms tried to move. Looking down he found him shackled to the table. He looked at his stomach and found it bandaged and flat. A growl came from him as he yanked at the shackles. His arm flexed and there was a groan of metal. Then it broke. Next arm. The shackle broke. The brunette climbed off the bed and tried to stand. His legs gave out. ‘Fuck…’ He pulled himself up then over to them. His hand gripped the edge to hold himself up. As he looked down at them he felt tears as they dripped down his face. Reaching up he whipped them away. “I’m sorry… you shouldn’t of been born here.” A tear dropped onto one of them and the eyes opened slowly.
Miss matched eyes looked up at him. The whisper was stronger.
“I hear you. I hear you.” He looked around and found his pants. Grabbing them he pulled them on over the boxers. Once again he was looking, this time for something to tie them up. His eyes found some rope. Threading it through the belt loops he tied the rope and then grabbed his shirt. Turning he reached for the three on the table.
“I wouldn’t do that.”
He stopped and looked over his shoulder.
“If you take them out like that they’ll get sicker.”
“Sick?”
“How long has it been about twenty-seven weeks?”
“Maybe?”
“If you take them now they’ll get sick. Their healing is a lot better than normal babies but they should be fine in a month’s time.”
“Too long they’ve been here for too long already.” He looked at them and shook as he touched the small wolf ears on the biggest one. “Just like Zev.” The whisper grew louder. “I’m not leaving.” His gray eyes saw the large and sharp scissors. There was movement behind him. Glancing back he saw three guards standing around the doctor. He grinned. They moved forward as he snagged the scissors. “He won’t have them!”
The item flew across the room they stopped an inch away from the doctor. His head snapped to the side when he heard the laugh. “Hello Akira.”
“Diter.” The name came out as a growl.
“You’re as cuddly as ever.”
“Go to hell!”
“Been there you were there to.” He watched him as he walked forward. Akira made sure to keep himself between his kids and Diter. “Get him.”
The guards jumped and he tossed two to the side. They crashed into a try of surgical instruments. The other one managed to grab his arms to restrain him. The loud sound caused the other two babies to wake and start screaming. Akira jerked against the guards grip. He let out a growl as he tried to fight back. He pulled himself up and kicked out at the other two. The babies screaming got louder and Diter growled.
“Stupid brats I’ll shut you up for good.” His hand moved towards the babies.
There was a loud hiss in his head and he looked over. He screamed, “Don’t you fucking touch them!!” Diter flew across the room to crash into a window. Cracks spider webbed out from where Diter’s back hit it. His knees bent then he jumped up as he snapped his head back. The guard cursed as he grabbed his chin. Turning around Akira’s leg whipped out and the heel of his foot smashed into their face. He turned to run over to his kids when his body jerked.
His vision swam and he stumbled. “What…?” He grabbed the edge of the table as he looked back at a man with glasses. Walking forward he reached out to grab something. Then his legs gave out. The brunette snagged a tray stand that was nearby only it fell with him. Everything on it clattered to the ground around him. “No…” Reaching up he felt the last of his mind shut down.
The man watched as that hand dropped to the ground. He turned to Diter. “Get the fuck out of here.”
“You ain’t my boss.”
“When a person is in my care you don’t touch them! Now get the fuck out!” The man had dark silver hair and thin wire rimmed glasses. He pulled a gun from a guard, “Get out or I’ll shoot.” Diter spit on the floor next to the man and then left. He gave a sigh as tired brown eyes looked at Akira’s body. Turning he sat both guns on the table. Walking over he knelt down to pull the dart out. “Sorry Akira.” Reaching down he picked him up and placed him back on the bed. “Check for any tears and take him back to his room. I’ll take these ones to where they need to be.” He glanced at the other man who was shaking slightly. “Go get some rest.”
“Y-yes sir.” The man ran out of the room as two doctors pushed Akira out of the room.
“Damn.” He glanced at the three babies and sighed. “I wish we had met under better conditions. Yes?” They had finally calmed down after Akira was knocked out. It’s rare for the kids to be this aware of their parents. But to form a psychic link is rarer.
Three separate units were rolled in. He placed one in each and gave instruction to keep them close to each other. Turning he sighed again as he pulled his glasses off. His head hurt.
He didn’t know why he waited at the room for the male. But here he was waiting. Once the guards were gone he walked into the room. Looking at the watch on his wrist he glanced at the slowly waking male. He sat up and looked around. “Finally awake.”
Gray eyes looked at him.
They grew dark as he watched him. “Easy I just want to talk.”
“Give them back.”
“I can’t if I did they could get worse.”
“Then let me see them!”
“It’s not up to me.”
“Get the fuck out if you’re not going to help me see them!”
“I can’t help you that way but I can help another way. This way you can see them yourself and possibly escape.”
“How?” He wasn’t stupid that was for sure.
“You’ve grown a lot Akira.”
He was off the bed and backing away, “How the fuck do you know my name?”
“You don’t remember do you? To think he pushed you that far.”
“What do you mean?” His hesitation was clear.
“Never mind. You’ll understand when you remember everything. First I should tell you my name. I’m Dr. Eron. I’ve known you since you were a toddler. I know why you can’t remember.”
“It’s because of the seal.”
“It’s gone.”
“What do you mean? Every one said I’d remember when the seal was gone.”
“Your mind doesn’t want you to remember. In truth what you went through is enough to drive even the strongest insane. Though, I wonder if it would only make you stronger instead of breaking the rest of your mind.”
“How…?”
He stood up and looked at Akira, “Only you know, it being your mind and all.” The doctor tapped his own head, “You know the code to unlocking the lock.” Akira watched as Dr. Eron left the room leaving him in there. A few hours later he was being dragged out by a group of guards. One of them ended up with a broken arm.
^^^^
Zev growled as he struggled against the rope that bound him to a tree. “Let me go!!” He tried everything but it didn’t work. His body slumped over as he panted. “Fuck…”
“Have you calmed down now?”
He glared at Star. Keir was sitting with AJ watching the building. Ransom was sitting ready in his humanoid animal form. Those ears twitched and he turned around as Karen walked into the clearing with Nathan following her. “Okay I have everything set up about ten miles from here. Once we get them out we need to move them fast.”
AJ sat up and then turned, “Hey that guy said everything is a go on the full moon.”
“That’s at the end of the week.” Star glanced at Ransom as he spoke. “What are the chances of all of us getting out?”
“We should be fine. The less there are the higher the chance.”
“Good.”
The black wolf sighed and let his head fall forward. “I give I’ll wait.”
They looked at him, “We’re not falling for it again!”
‘Damn it.’ He looked at his feet. ‘Akira please be alright.’
^^^^
Daisuke stood looking at the building. “Rainer.”
“Yeah.”
“I thought he died with Ellen. To think the bastard raised him this way.”
“I wonder who he looks like.” Black eyes glared at him as he chuckled, “Joking.”
“Sure you are.”
“Will you two shut up I’m trying to focus!?”
They looked back at Tito. He was sitting with his eyes closed. “You’re doing fine.”
“Astral Projection is harder than it looks now shut up!” He placed his finger tips together as his body fell into a light trance.
^^^^
Akira gasped in pain as his body hit the wall. He coughed and stood up. His hands caught himself as he tried to rush forward. The door was opened and the guards were laughing at him. Just like before. Just like before he’ll rip their throats out. He stopped. No I’m not doing that anymore. The cravings were finally under control. He couldn’t lose anymore. Another person was shoved into the room. The door slammed shut.
A few seconds later a knife dropped to the ground.
Two people one knife. Instinct kicked in and he dove for the knife. The other person a male that was a good head taller than him jumped on top of him. He gripped the knife as he smashed his elbow against his head. They got back on their feet and rushed forward just as Akira got to his feet.
Those eyes blinked. They looked down and a smile appeared on his face. His hand gripped at Akira’s shirt as he fell to his knees, dislodging the knife. Blood splattered on the ground as he coughed. That person laid there clutching his bleeding wound. He was wheezing as Akira pulled him into a choke hold.
“Sorry. But I need to live.” There was a snap as he gave the head a hard jerk to the side.
He dropped the knife and looked at his hands. Blood covered his hands. Akira dropped to the ground as pulled his shirt off. He shook as he tried to wipe it off. Not again. Not again. He let out a whimper. After he wiped most of it off he gave up and put enough room between him and the dead body. He pulled his knees close and rested his head on his arms. The bloodied knife lay next to him.
Hours past and there was a sound off to his side. Standing up he looked at the whole in the wall. He snagged the knife next to him and looked into the other room. When he saw nothing he slowly walked into the empty room, glad to get out of the room with the dead body.
There was a slam behind him and he jumped back. The floor opened up underneath him. He caught the edge and hung there. “No…” The edge he was holding onto started to move. He looked behind him to see the same. When there was only two inches left. He let go and fell. His back slammed against something hard. He barely had time to register the pain when he was sliding down a chute into darkness.
^^^^
Tito snapped back and gasped for air. “We have to get in there.”
“What’s going on?”
“He’s toy with him. I just watched Akira kill someone just to stay alive.”
Daisuke was about to rush out when Rainer pulled him back. “Daisuke we can’t just rush in without knowing the layout of the building. Let Tito rest and we’ll find out the lay of the building first thing in the morning.” He looked at the building. “Not now Daisuke.”
His body didn’t relax until Rainer shook him slightly, “Okay.”
“We’re going to need that strategic thinking of yours. You were better than all of us growing up.”
~~~~
Akira winced as he looked up. It was bright. The sun was shining down on him. “Sun…?” He squinted and sat up. The grass was tall as it waved in the breeze. A soft song reached his ears. He climbed to his feet and followed the tune. He could see a woman with a small child playing in the grass. She stopped and turned around.
“It’s not good to sneak up on people. You never know if they have a weapon.”
His gray eyes took in the sight of the very round woman. He walked over and looked at her face. It took a while for him to catch his breath. His mother was sitting right in front of him. Looking over he watched as that small figure disappeared into a tall patch of grass.
“Akira I need to see you.” A head popped out and looked at her. Then he ran over.
He caught sight of his hands they were clean. “Uh…”
“It’s time to go home.” There was a disagreeing shout from the boy. Ellen shook her head, “See even then you were a pain. You had a do it you own way attitude. Fine we won’t eat dinner then.” She stood and rested her hand on the swell of her stomach. “Tell me have you met your brother yet?” He was surprised with what she said.
Then Akira shook his head as he put his hands in his pockets. He didn’t even know he had one. She motioned to the round swell. The woman reached out her hand as the small boy ran up to her. He snagged her hand with both of his small ones. “You’ll need his help. I saw everything. From the day you were born to the day you took your last breath. I didn’t want it to end that way. I didn’t want you to turn out like this either but know I see that this might be a better way.”
He watched as the child version of himself just took off running for no reason. “Where…?”
“Even as a child you could pick up on things before others did. If I’m right Daisuke just got home.”
“Oh.”
“What no questions?” She looked at him with a look that seemed too familiar. He looked away as he made a sound of discomfort. “Still the same.”
“Huh?”
“You and you father have the same look when you get embarrassed or you get caught off guard or doing something you shouldn’t. There are others things too.”
“Like hell we’re the same.”
Ellen raised a brow and shook her head, “You’re impossible.”
“Where are we?”
“The cabin.” She looked around at the land, “No one within miles. No one to judge you and your brother.” He watched as she nodded. “It’s quiet at night. Not used to the quiet but I manage.”
“It’s weird.”
“Yeah.” She looked at him and smirked. “You’re going to have a hell of a lot of fun when they learn to crawl.”
“What’s my brother’s name?”
“It doesn’t matter about the name. It only matters about the person who owns the name.”
He nodded and kicked at a stone. His eyes took in every land mark. He wanted to find that field again. Akira glanced at her and then he saw the small cabin that sat off in the distance. It was the same one he was stuck in during the winter with his father. “Why can’t I remember this?”
Ellen looked at him and then laid her hand on his chest over his heart. “As long as this is strong you can remember everything.” Her finger poked him in the forehead. “That only keeps the memories. You have to want to remember. Everything on you remembers something. Your body remembers the touch, your eyes the images, your ears and mouth remember words, and your heart remembers feelings.”
“But I want to remember.”
Her gray eyes watched him, “Saying it and meaning it are two entirely different matters, Akira. Ask yourself next time. Do you really want to remember? Do you really want to remember the things you went through just to get to what you have now?”
He looked away and rubbed the back of his head, “I… don’t know.”
“Remember just because it happened in the past doesn’t change who you are now or who loves you right now. If I’m right that wolf is probably itching to get to you. But you need to find a way for him to get to you.” There was a shout from the cabin. He saw his father waving at them. Ellen waved back, “We’ll this might be the last time I see you. Never know when I’ll be granted to see you again.”
He nodded as he looked at her. He wanted to remember this. Everything. “I don’t know what to say.”
Ellen shook her head, “Hold on to that necklace. You might need to give it to someone one day.” His head nodded. She smiled and then hugged him. Akira jumped slightly as she laughed, “You’ve made me proud to be you mother Akira. No matter what happens you’ll always be my Akira. You and your brother I’m proud of you both.” He didn’t even realize he was crying until he felt them roll down his cheek. When she pulled away he hid his face. “Go kick his ass!” She had a smirk on her face that had him nodding.
“Yeah.”
“I guess this is goodbye…?”
He shook his head, “I won’t say it.”
“Stubborn child.” The woman reached forward with her fist and rapped him on the forehead, “Wake up!”
Akira jerked awake and groaned as the pain hit him. He sat up. Every joint and muscle in his body was screaming at him to stop moving. It hurt. There was a rustling sound off to his left. The pain was shoved to the back of his mind as he crouched looking around. Trees where everywhere. The sound was to his right now.
It grew quiet. He could feel his muscles tense up as the seconds ticked by. A body shot out of the brush behind him. Akira shifted his weight onto his hands and kicked out with his foot. The blow landed against the throat and he looked at the upside down image of a dark skinned woman roughly the same size as him. He flipped over as she tried to catch her breath.
Gray eyes watched as she fell over. Blood pooled around her body from a more recent attack. Moving closer he saw the fangs. No wonder she just attacked like that. He glanced around. It didn’t take long to see that he was back in that same hell hole. Everything was the same. The brunette checked for a weapon only to come up empty handed. He cursed. There was sound off to his side and he froze.
It didn’t take long for him to climb up the tree closest to him. They moved beneath him as they talked. The three guards picked up the dead body and toted her off. He was about to follow when a hand shot out and grabbed him. Akira reacted. The person grunted as he dropped onto the tree branch.
“Zero? Hey you okay?”
“Yeah.”
He watched the two, taking a step back he was about to run. “Wait!” A black haired person the same size as Hawk floated in front of him. “Akira right?”
“Maybe.”
“Look we need your help. He needs your help. Bastard said that he could be let go but now he’s stuck down here.”
“Why should I help?”
“Family.” Zero coughed as he stood. His hand rubbed where Akira punched him. “I’m sorry.”
“He said more than one word!”
“If you want my help then you have to help me.”
“How?” Raven dropped onto Zero’s shoulder.
“Find my kids and get them out. I’ll make a distraction long enough for you all to get out.” The two watched as he climbed higher into the tree. Once at the top he looked around. The room he was in was large enough to fit five maybe six arenas into it. His eyes swept along the tree tops when he saw the glass wrapping around the top.
Zero jumped a little when Akira dropped down next to him. “I need to barrow your friend.” Raven looked at him and then nodded.
“Do you see him?”
“No, I can’t there is no one up there.”
“Okay.” He started to climb down.
“Why do you want him there?”
“It’s the perfect distraction. Attack the leader and guards will focus on you letting anyone else slip out.” He dropped down next to Zero. “He’s not there we’ll have to wait. Can you fight at least a little?”
His head shook.
“You can’t fight.”
“He doesn’t like to fight.” Akira looked at Raven and then sighed. “He’s damn good he just doesn’t like it.”
“Fine. Let’s find a place to hide. Night is the worse time to be out.”
“How do you know its night time?” Just then the whole place was thrown into darkness.
“Like that. Stay close. Raven keep an eye out for anything not friendly.” Once his eyes were used to the change in the lighting he started to walk around the area they were in.
“O-okay.”
Akira started to pull down vines and wrapped them up. He would toss the coiled up bundles to Zero. Then he reached up into his pant leg to pull out his army swiss knife. They watched as he climbed back into the tree. More vines fell down. He climbed down and looked at the vines. “Shit. They’ll have to do.”
Zero quietly followed after him. It was a little unnerving. He glanced back at the dark brunette. His black eyes kept glancing around. “Stop being twitchy.”
He jumped and ducked his head, “Sorry.” There was a snap off to the side.
Raven sat on Zero’s shoulder, “Someone is there.” All three froze at the cry of pain that sounded in the direction.
“Over in the bush. Go.” Akira snagged a vine from Zero. “Go!”
The two ducked behind it just as another person came running out. They watched as Akira uncoiled the vine. “Not thick enough.” He kept his eye on the shifty person. They had a long wicked looking knife. They were going to need that.
Mitch sighed as he stood outside. It was the middle of the night and he was tired. His hand rested on the large knife at his side. There was a sound behind him as he walked. How many of them tried to kill him so far just to escape? He didn’t know. Lost count after the first week. He turned and gave a sigh when another guard waved at him. He waved back and froze as something sharp pressed against his back.
Why did he have to stand by the corner?
“Don’t move.” The harsh whisper was damn too familiar.
“Daisuke?”
“What the hell are you doing here?”
“I’m the only who can’t be read.”
“That’s right.”
“What about you?”
“A letter from Ellen.”
“A love note from the dead?” The blade pushed harder, “Okay okay I get it. What do you want to know?”
“The layout.”
“When?”
“In the morning.”
“I’ll do my best.”
“What do you know so far? Is…?”
“Three all boys. Akira put up one hell of a fight. He’s the latest gossip. Tossed Diter without touching him, almost killed a doctor, and was knocked out by a dart.”
“Damn.”
“Yeah.”
“Watch them.”
“Will do.” When Mitch turned around he was gone. “Sneaky bastard.”
Tito lay sleeping when Daisuke came into the small camp. “What’s going on?” Rainer was standing up when he caught the look on his friends face.
“We have someone getting us blueprints.”
“Really who?”
“Ellen’s brother’s kid. Means that wolf isn’t that far behind.”
“Who?”
“You’ll see.” He kicked at his bedding causing it to roll out. “I’ll take next.”
“Okay.”
He watched as Daisuke flopped onto the rolled out bed. Ten minutes later soft breathing reached his ears. Both were asleep. ‘Please let luck be on our side.’
Zev jerked awake and looked around. He was still tied to the tree. ‘What am I going to do?’ The ropes slackened and he looked up, “Keir?”
“I’m getting tired of you being this way. We’re going to see Karen.”
“What for?”
“Just get up.”
Ten miles later the two walked into the clearing where a large tent was set up. A stream of water ran by behind it. As they got closer Levana stepped out. “Zev will you come here. Hurry we don’t have much time.”
He walked into the tent just as a head of blond barreled into him. “M-Maria!”
“I couldn’t sit and wait. Help him Zev, please!” Marianela felt a hand on her shoulder and she looked back. Levana smiled at her. She nodded and walked over to a chair. Just then a chair was set in front of him. Karen smiled at him as she pulled something over.
“Sit Zev we need to get started.”
He sat down and Karen took his hand. She clipped something onto his thumb. “What’s going on?”
“I’m going to be watching your vitals.” The woman smiled as she gave his shoulder a firm pat. “Relax.”
“You two have a link. It was there before you claimed him as yours now it’s stronger. You’re probably the only one who can talk to him.” She picked up a bowl. Just then the sounds of beeping filled the tent.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m going to make it stronger. The bad side is you might feel everything he does.”
“Like?”
“If he’s injured you might feel it, his emotions, and other things.” Levana dipped her thumb into the paste like substance and looked at him. “Say ah!”
“Like hell you’re putting that…” She jammed her thumb into his mouth. A growl followed after.
“If you bit me I’ll give you the shot and that will hurt like a bitch.”
He glared at her as his mouth opened wider. The gunk was rubbed along the back of his mouth. When she pulled her hand away he muttered something. She smacked him over the head. “It feels weird.”
“Don’t swallow.”
“How the fuck can I not do it?”
“Easy say hi to Akira for me.” She took both hands and placed both thumbs against his temples. He slumped over and she caught the back of his shirt. “Well that was easy.”
“Is he alright?”Marianela was looking at the wolf. His eyes were still open and glazed over.
“He’s fine I’ll give him till sunrise to find out where Akira is in the building.”
~~~~
Akira tied the long knife to his waist and then climbed out of the small hole that led into a small cave. “Stay here. I’m going to find some kind of water. He wouldn’t drop us in here without that.”
“Okay. Zero’s already out cold.”
“I won’t be long.” He took off running in the direction he was told about. It could be a trap. It was most likely a trap. But he needed to wash the dried blood off of him now. There was a faint sound and he lengthened his stride. Jumping over a bush he slid to a stop as he almost fell head first into the water. Without thinking he dropped to his knees and dunked the top half of his body in the water.
A hand gripped his head as water surrounded him. He tried to fight the grip on his head. He couldn’t breathe. Needed air. Needed to breathe! His head was pulled out as a voice hissed into his ear, “You’re just like her.”
He found himself being shoved into the water. Righting himself he broke the surface to find scraggly looking males looking down at him. “Hello! Having fun!”
His gray eyes grew dark.
“Oooo look he’s mad!” The laughter died when he sunk under the water. “Where the hell did he go?” They didn’t see the fingers that grabbed the banks ledge. He flew out and slammed into the middle one. His fist stopped as he looked at them.
What was he doing? He already killed two. Didn’t he say he wasn’t going to do this anymore? Akira sat back as he did he caught sight of his hands. He shouldn’t be thinking this he should just… There was a soft hiss of metal. He didn’t see the blade as it moved.
There was a flash of silver and Akira looked at the knife he was holding. The brunette was standing on the edge of the river. Blood dripped onto the blade as he looked up. Blinking Akira swiped at his cheek. His blood was smeared across his hand.
“Damn… Missed” The middle man looked at his two buddies and then he rushed forward.
He growled. His hand gripped the hilt of the knife as he ran forward. With an extra push with his palm on the bottom of the hilt the blade stabbed deeply up into the men’s chest. Pulling the blade out, he grabbed their arm and tossed them into the water behind him. A twist of the knife had flecks of blood dropping on the ground. The other two looked at each other. Then they ran.
Grabbing the blade end he threw it. One went down. He ran up grabbed the knife and looked up. The other one was gone. Bending over he grabbed the barely living man and dragged him over to the river. He rolled the body into the water. Gray eyes watched as the body floated down the river. Crouching he washed his blade off and then rubbed at his arms till they were a bright red.
Standing he walked over to the trees. Akira leaned up against one and sighed as he sunk to the ground. He needed a smoke. His head was rested against his leg as he stared at his hand. He should get back never know when someone will try to attack. It pushed at the back of his mind. Soft at first and then it gave a shove. He sat up. “Who’s there?”
There was a soft whisper.
“Where the hell are you hiding?” Standing he looked around.
The sound grew weaker as he stood. Without thinking he started walking. His pace quickened and then he was running. Where was it? He ran faster. Running around a bend he crash into something hard. He laid on the ground. “Alright?”
He sat up and looked at Zero. “I’m fine.”
Zero reached down to pull Akira up. When his hand grabbed Akira’s arm they both jerked away. It felt like a sharp shock snapped up his spine. “What……?”
“The hell was that?” There was a snap off to their side and he jumped to his feet. The two brunettes stepped back. A vine hung between them. They looked at it. “Climb the tree.” He pulled the vine down as Zero climbed up. His hands quickly made a loop and tied it. He finished just as the person appeared in the area.
They looked at each other and then he climbed up the tree. That person ran over. Without any warning something dropped down to wrap around his neck. Akira jumped and pulled the guy up with a sickening crack. Zero dropped out of the tree. He couldn’t look away from the dead swinging body. “You…?
Dark gray eyes looked at him, “What about it?” He saw the way the other brunette flinched when he snapped at him. His hand let go and the body fell to the ground. Walking over, he nudged it with his foot. Looking at his bare feet he then glanced at the shoes the person was wearing. Reaching down he pulled off both boots, then pulled them on. They were slightly big on him.
He went back to looking through the guy’s pockets. “You’re not saying anything. Why?” He glanced at Zero. “You have to be used to this.”
The other brunette shook his head. “N-no.”
“So you didn’t rebel or fight back just followed like a good little boy.”
“No.”
His hand pulled out a cigarette pack. Looking in he grinned. There was one more left. Time to get his fix. He started to look and then he growled. “Fucking kidding me! No fucking lighter!!” Akira looked at Zero, “Then why are you here?!”
Zero pulled at his hair and gave a sad smile as he shrugged. “Finding.”
“Is that all you can do is say one word at a time?”
“No.”
“Then talk so I can understand you!” He shook his head. Then looked around the male was getting shifty again. His eyes narrowed, “Why?”
Those black eyes looked anywhere but him. He knew that look he had seen it before. They met his eyes and then he shook his head.
“What happened?” Why was he getting pissed? He didn’t even know the guy and here he was getting pissed. He watched as the male started to sweat. “Something happened. Who did it?” Black eyes quickly looked away. What happened to him? He flinched when Akira stood up. “Well who ever did whatever they did; they’re not going to be doing that again. Cause if they like their stupid little life they’ll stay clear of this place. I need you to speak in full sentences so that I can understand what’s going on.”
When Zero looked away he sighed.
“Okay fine I get it!! Just help me drag this guy. We need to move him before the guards come.”
He caught the slight flinch when he said that.
‘Was it a guard?’ His eyes narrowed. “Hurry!” Zero moved forward and grabbed an arm. They dragged the guy along until they were a hundred yards away from where they started. Akira quickly tied the vine around the man’s neck in a way so that he could thread another vine around it. He tossed it over a thick branch then pulled. The man hung from the branch.
He went to grab Zero’s arm but the brunette pulled away. “Come on.” They hid behind a bush and waited.
“Akira?”
There was a soft hiss from the brunette. Then he crouched lower. Two guards walked over. Their flashlights landed on the body in the tree. “Shit man.”
“Well let’s get him down. At least there’s no blood this time.” One of them went to climb the tree as Akira slipped out from behind the bush. Zero watched as he moved a little too quietly for his liking.
Then his arms wrapped around and his hand clapped over the guard’s mouth. He dragged him back into the brush. “Scream and I’ll snap your neck.”
They grew still.
“Drop your flashlight.” It fell to the ground. It was kicked over to Zero. Akira caught a whiff of something and that quirky smirk appeared on his face. “I smell smoke do you have a pack on you?” He didn’t move so Akira tightened his grip. That head nodded quickly. “Get it out and drop it on the ground.”
That hand moved up to the open the pocket at the top of his jacket. The pack thumped on the ground along with a lighter. Akira gave him a hard shove and the guy tripped over the brush. He tumbled to the ground. Getting back to his feet he turned around quickly to find the person gone. “Hey man I need your help!”
Turning back he found his buddy in the tree trying to cut the vine. Just then the body dropped and he quickly caught it. “Let’s get the hell out of here!”
“What’s wrong with you?”
“Nothing let’s just go!”
The other guard dropped to the ground and jogged after the guy. Then he asked, “Where’s you light?”
“I lost it when I tripped trying to get the body.”
“Klutz.”
Akira watched from the tree as they left the area. He held the large flashlight up. It was as long as his arm and heavy too. He glanced over at Zero who was sitting on the branch watching. “I don’t kill all the time only when I need to.”
“Why?”
“To live.” He slid off the branch and dropped to the ground. Once Zero was out of the tree they started to walk towards the small cave. “Weren’t you asleep when I left?”
“Woke.”
“Why?” Looking back at Zero he found him shaking his head. “You just woke up.” That head nodded. He turned back and kept walking. That whisper came from behind him. He turned around quickly causing Zero to jump. “Did you say something?”
That head shook quickly.
They made their way back to the cave and crawled into the small opening. Gray eyes glanced at Zero. Then he stretched out up against the wall. There was about a foot of space between him and Zero. The other brunette was once again fast asleep in only a few seconds. He rolled over and waited. Once he was sure nothing was going to happen his eyes finally slid shut.
“Akira…” He made a face and blinked. Gray eyes sleepily looked up at Zev. “Come on that’s it.” They slid closed again, “No! Hey… don’t… open your eyes!” Zev needed to shut up. It was too early and he was up all night trying to make sure they would be safe.
His eyes snapped open. “What the hell are you doing here?!”
“What do you mean? I’m in your mind!” He looked around to find them on a hill. A larger tree was behind them and was stretched out shading him from the bright light. In that tree was his tree house.
Those brows drew in and the smartest reply he could think of at that moment was, “Huh?”
“Yeah I’m a little confused too. Maybe you and Levana can talk about it then you can explain it to me cause psychic abilities are unclear to me.”
“So you’re not here?”
“No.” The brunette gave a sigh and flopped back down. He found Zev leaning over him. “What’s going on?”
“Nothing…”
“Are they okay?” Akira sat up and frowned as he glanced away. “Akira…?” He could hear the worry in his voice. “Are they…?” The question hung there.
“Their okay… well the last time I saw them.” He reached over towards Zev. His fingers slid into his hair and then he pulled him close. Their foreheads touched as he whispered, “Listen I can hear one of them.” Zev stared into gray eyes. Then he heard a sound. It was in the back of his mind but it was soft.
His eyes watered without him realizing it till Zev was holding him close. “I’m going to come and get you all of you and then we’re going to leave. We’ll go wherever you want. Whatever or wherever makes you happy.”
“Zev…” He pushed his face against his shoulder. “I don’t want to wake up.”
“You have to. We need to get you out of there.”
“No…” His grip tightened as he whispered, “I have to… I don’t… I can’t…” He shook his head. Then he looked at him.
“Akira you need to get out of there.”
A few seconds passed and he sighed. “Okay.” Then those gray eyes grew cold. “I’m going to send them to you. Their lives are more important. All three of them. I’m going to distract the guards while I send them out with someone that’s stuck here with me.” His hands grabbed Zev head. Akira closed his eyes as he brought up an image of Zero. “He said he’ll help me find them and save them.”
Zev was about to protest when Akira cut him off.
“I don’t know if I can trust him. But he’s the only one who hasn’t tried to kill me. He doesn’t even know what to do right now.”
“But…”
“Be ready to help him get them to Levana or someone who can help. It could be any day this week.”
“Akira… do I have to wait?”
“Yes.”
The wolf grasped his hands and rubbed his thumb over the back of them. “Its eating you isn’t it? That you have to go back to what you did.” He grew quiet as the brunette lower his head. “Want to talk about it?”
“No…” The whisper was soft.
He decided to change the subject, “What do they look like?” Akira smiled as he gripped Zev’s hands.
“One has ears and a tail.”
There was a loud, “Really?”
“Yeah. He’s the biggest and the loudest. Then there’s the smallest the whole time he didn’t cry. He made no sound. Then the middle one I think that one woke me up or maybe all three. He didn’t stand out like the other two.” He raised Zev’s hand up and rubbed his head against that hand.
“Three… I can’t wait to see them.” Zev leaned forward and kissed Akira. “I love you. I’m going to get that bastard for doing this to you.”
The brunette shook his head. The look on his face made Zev’s blood run cold as Akira growled. “That bastard is mine.”
