Fifth Chapter- Favors
“I need you to do something,” Fire said to the petite blonde woman clad in all white.
“And what, exactly, makes you think I’d do anything for you? Or did you forget you ruined my life?” Angel was a feisty one, but Fire knew she could handle the ditz.
“There’s money involved.” That was all she needed to say because at the mention of money Angel perked up.
“What is it you want? Make it quick before I bore of you and throw you to the dogs.” The little woman went and sat back down on her white leather sofa.
“I need you to find out where Alex is.” It wasn’t a question, it was a demand, and Fire knew it would be an expensive demand.
“My, my, my Zendone, looking for your old flame? For what reason?” Fire knew she’d get cocky.
“I wouldn’t exactly call him a flame, and it’s none of your business why. All you need to do is find him, tell me where he is what he’s doing and so on, and I give you the money. Got it?” With that, Fire slapped down a small bag filled with something on the glass coffee table causing Angel to jump.
“Fine, how much money are we talking here? I won’t do it for less than five grand. It’s that or you find him on your own.” Angel sat back down in a huff.
“Trust me, I would’ve found him on my own already, but he would have known it was me. That’s why I need one of your men to do it so he won’t know I’m behind it. Oh, and you’ll be settling for 4 grand, princess.” She wasn’t into paying more money than she had to.
“What makes you think I’ll settle for 4?” Then there was a gun pointed at Angel’s head.
“You’ll settle for four,” Fire said cocking the gun, “Just call it a gut feeling. Oh, and don’t even think of calling your attack dog because by then you’ll be dead and he’ll have a bullet running towards his head. Have a nice night, Angel.” Fire turned and walked out the door nodding at the large man.
Once out into the warm night air, she hopped on her Harley and took off. She didn’t know where she was heading, but that was okay because if anyone tried anything on her they’d be severely hurt for doing so. It was turning out to be an okay night after all.
“It’s nice to see you, too. Please, take a seat, bro,” Rider said sarcastically to his little brother.
“Who is she?” Man, Jesse really was quite insistant when he wanted to know something.
“Who? Fire? She’s a regular, been coming here for about five years now.” He only answered because he wanted to know why his brother wanted to know about her.
“Fire? That’s her name? It fits pretty well if I do say so myself. Anyways…what were you doing with her?” Oh, Rider got it, Freeze thought that he was one of his girlfriends. Well, maybe he should lead him on for a while.
“I’ve known her for a long time.” Rider was trying to get Freeze thinking more than he should.
“How well do you know her?” Well, apparently he was quite interested in her, but oh well.
“I’d say pretty well,” Rider said nonchalantly.
“Fine, have you ever had sex with her?” Now Freeze just looked frustrated. It was funny seeing his brother that way.
“No, I’ve never had sex with her. She’s hard to get at.” That was the end of the conversation apparently because Freeze got up from his seat. “Where are you going?” Rider asked his brother.
“I’mng tng to find her.” Freeze was heading towards the door.
He had one hand on the doorknob and then Rider said, “She already left for the night, and she probably won’t get home until past your bed time, little guy. So I’d just wait.” Then Rider ended the conversation by turning his chair back around and that was that.
What was up with people just forgetting about her? Alright, she was absolutely not going to fall for this guy. Raven had been completely ready to get Freeze to chase after her, but it didn’t like he was going to take any bait at all. So she’d just have to find a better guy. Good luck on that, she thought, there was no better guy than Freeze.
She was just going to have to cope with the fact that she couldn’t get him to notice her. Whoah, watch out, here he comes, she thought.
“Alright, I need a favor,” Freeze said to her the second he was within hearing distance of her.
“What would the favor be?” Raven would do anything for him, ANYTHING, as long as he noticed her. God, this was getting sad. Pull yourself together, Raven.
“Where does Fire live?” Oh, great, he wanted to know where Fire lived.
“She lives up on that hill near the old Air Force Base. Has the whole hill to herself. Why?” She really really didn’t want him to say what she thought he was going to say.
“She stole something of mine, and I want it back.” Well, that is definitely a relief, thought Raven.
“Oh, okay, so then you’re leaving?” She tried not to sound too disappointed.
“Yep, see ya.” And then he was gone, as if he was never there.
Well, that was definitely odd, but at least he doesn’t want Fire instead of her. Even if he did, he’d soon realize she didn’t want him. Fire was a tough girl to figure out, and even Raven who’d known her practically forever didn’t know that much about her.
Freeze was off to find the woman that had stolen something from him. He hoped she’d offer her heart back in return.
