The fate of a species

Howdy. I've got a new chapter up as you can see and I'll start working on the next one soon. Have fun reading.

Oh by the way Apex Predators are predators with no predators of their own, residing at the top of their food chain i.e. Humans. It comes up in this chapter.

---------------------------------

Walking into the med bay Steven could honestly say that he should have seen this coming

Captain Hollister had a look of pure loathing on his face as he pointed his gun at Mouse. Hollister wasn't orignally pointing it at Mouse but at the sleeping Hoto, Mouse had just jumped in the way to protect her.

"Move it Mouse" Hollister grinded out in an angry tone. Mouse just shook his head and stood his ground. "Sir you don't understand what your doing. She's not a Locust!" Mouse tried to plead but Hollister just kept glaring over his shoulder at the sleeping Hoto. Mouse looked at Lt.Commander Rodriguez for help but he refused to meet his eyes. Carlos was conflicted. His heart told him to help the Hoto but his mind kept throwing images of his dead family. So he decided to stay out of this until he could get his head straight.

Mouse turned his pleading expression on Commander Steven who sighed at the look. Steven decided that since he gave the order to take her on board that he might as well go the whole way.

"Captain put the gun down" Mouse beamed at Stevens support while the Captain looked at him like he'd lost his mind.

"Are you insane?. She's a Locust! What were you even thinking bringing this...this... THING on board!" Captain Hollister angrily pushed Mouse out the way, walked up to the sleeping woman and pressed his gun against her forehead. "The only good Locust is a dead Locust"

"Your right" Steven nodded and stood besides the Captain "But she's not a Locust" Hollister narrowed his eyes and spat out the words "The tests say there's a 96% similarity between them. She came from the same planet as the Locust"

"There's a 96% genetic similarity between Humans and Apes but that doesn't mean we go around flinging shit at eachother." Steven put his hand on the barrel of the gun and softly said "She didn't kill your daughter Captain and killing her will only put innocent blood on YOUR hands" Steven gently pried the gun from Hollisters hand and waited for a reaction.

After a few seconds of reminiscing about his daughter the Captain spun in his heels and said "You've got a 4 days" and walked out of the med bay. Carlos looked at the Commander for guidence but Steven just pointed to the door. Carlos walked out leaving Steven and Mouse staring at the med bay exit.

"Mouse I hope to god your right about this otherwise you and I are going to Hell's Kitchen for treason."

After he had left the med bay Steven went back to work on the bridge but the Captain was giving him the cold shoulder. News of what was happening spread fast. Walking back to his quarters Steven noticed the conversations and looks people were sharing. Some people agreed with Steven and Mouse while others took the Captains side. Some were conflicted like Carlos and had decided to stay out of the way and see how it goes. Four fights had already been broken up over this and debates soon turned to angry arguments. Security was working overtime.

Walking into his quarters Steven realized it was quiet, too quiet. The only way he could describe it was that it felt like he was unwelcome.

Taking a few cautious steps into his quarters he rested his hand against his holstered gun, just in case. He paused at his son and daughters door and quietly pressed his ear against the door. Steven relaxed when he heard their breathing and began inching towards his room. When he finally entered his room he found his mate sitting on the bed, furious. Steven gulped and nervously asked

"So you heard?"

------------------------------

Mouse sleeply raised his head from his desk in his quarters and rose to his feet. Taking off a medical report that had stuck to his face he walked to his door and opened it. To his surprise there stood Steven with a pillow in his hand. "Alias heard about the Hoto and kicked me out. Mind if I crash on your couch?" Mouse stepped out of the way and closed the door once Steven was inside. Steven muttered a "wow" when he saw Mouses apartment. Pages and pages of medical reports, blood analysis, CAT scans etc. were stuck to the wall. Hell, Steven couldn't even see the wall under all that paper and it was all on the Hoto. "Guests room is over there" Mouse yawned and walked back to his desk and collapsed on the chair.

"You certainly didn't waste anytime. Have you got anything so far?"

Mouse just shook his head and sighed. "Nothing that will convince the U.P. not to blow the planet. Their biology is just to similar to the Locusts and I can't-" Mouse yawned "I can't find the genetic marker that creates the 4% difference between the Locust and the Hoto."

Steven walked up to Mouse and put his hand on his shoulder "Get some sleep Mouse, your too tired to dig through all this medical stuff" Mouse nodded, stood up and walked into what Steven assumed is his room. Steven himself decided that sleep wasn't a bad idea and walked into the guest room and collapsed on the bed.

When he woke up Steven panicked at the unfamiliar surroundings and went for his gun. Finding it missing his mind reminded him of his argument with Alias and that this was Mouse's guest room. Getting up with a yawn and a stretch Steven got dressed and left for the med bay to check on Mouse. Along the way he noticed some looks of approval and some of disbelief, no doubt about his decision with the Hoto. The elevator doors opened and there stood a tired looking Carlos.

"Rough night?" Steven asked as he stepped next to Carlos and hit the Med bay button. "Not as rough as yours from what I heard. Did Alias really kick you out?

Steven winced at the memory and nodded. "Alias was furious that I let something related to the Locusts on board. She said I was putting the kids in danger" Steven sighed and rubbed his eyes "Maybe shes right but I can't doom a species to death because of their relatives. Ya know Carlos I noticed you haven't taken a side yet on the whole wipe out the Hoto thing. Care to explain?"

Carlos shrugged at the question but Stevens expectant look got him to talk. "Its just... I don't know what to feel about her!. Part of me thinks shes the most beautiful thing in the universe but the other part thinks shes a monster. Everytime I feel like saving the Hoto is the right thing I hear my mothers voice and I just can't, I just can't do it. Does that make me a coward?" Carlos was ranting and you could see the conflict in his eyes and the pain in his voice.

Steven put his hand on Carlos shoulder and talked "No. It makes you Human" At Carlos questioning gaze Steven explained "Everyone falls for that person they shouldn't. That forbidden fruit that looks oh so tempting. That person your mind tells you isn't right because of your gender, religion or even your own anger that you can't let go of. But the heart doesn't see all that. All it sees is someone to love. Someone to spend those lonely nights with and wake up to in the morning. Carlos listen to what YOU want, not what you should want" The elevator doors opened to the med bay and Steven asked Carlos "are you coming" Carlos just shook his head. He needed time to think.

The doors shut behind him and Steven walked towards the med bay. The four guards, each one a Lieutenant, were carrying sonic rifles. A blast from one of those could rip a hole through the walls, not an easy feat when the walls are designed to withstand rocket fire.

They saluted Steven when he walked past them and he returned it. Entering the med bay Stevens instincts told him something was wrong. He felt like he was being watched. Pulling out his pistol he backed away to the door to get reinforcements. Out of nowhere a furred green blur slammed into him knocking Steven to the floor before he found himself pinned. Looking up he glared at the awake Hoto who returned his glare with a vengence. Steven tried moving his hands but the Hoto was straddling his waist with his hands in a tight grip. When she saw him struggle an arrogant smirk spread across her face.

"Having fun?" Her voice was soft and musical but the superior tone and look she was giving him pissed him off. Cursing at the fact that the med bay was soundproof to prevent screaming patients from disturbing others Steven knew he was on his own. He needed to buy time, let her think she's won and when she loosens her grip in arrogance he'd strike.

"Where'd you learn to speak Basic" She tilted her head and replied "Do you really think a language as primative and... boring as yours would elude me. All I had to do was listen to that male in white talk long enough to get the general idea behind your language. Afterall my mind is a lot more advanced then yours"

When she mentioned a man in white Steven knew she was talking about Mouse. He pushed his head up as far as it would go and snarled "If you hurt even one hair on his head I'm going to rip off your wings AND SHOW THEM TO YOU!" The Hoto simply gave him that arrogant look again "Hurt him? Like I would dirty my hands with your kinds blood. I just put him to sleep with my powder. He'll wake up eventually but by the time he does I'll be home and your ship will be destroyed by our fleet."

Suddenly her body jerked forwards and her black eyes widened. Her eyes closed and she collapsed unconscious on top of Steven. Behind her stood Mouse with a empty syringe in his hand. "Amazing creature. Heightened senses, brain works twenty times faster, powerful sleep pollen but arrogant. Very arrogant"

"Your telling me" Steven grunted out while he stood up, the Hoto in his arms "I thought she put you to sleep"

Mouse nodded and gestured for Steven to follow him to the quarantine room "She did. Luckily the idea that I created a internal counter to her pollen that activates when I'm exposed to it never entered her mind. As I said, arrogant"

Entering the room Steven noticed that it hadn't changed a bit from when he meet Alias. He gently lowered her onto the bed and turned to Mouse. "You'd think a species that so evolved" Stevens tone became a mocking one at the word 'evolved' "would have tried talking to you first" Mouse just shrugged, got down on his knees and reached under the bed. His voice was muffled when he said "Fight or flight response was expected in this situation. Don't blame her. Would have tried to run if I was her" Mouse emerged from under the bed with two straps in his hand "besides, it not like she hurt me. She even apologized when she put me to sleep"

Steven looked incredulously at the Hoto woman Mouse was tying to the bed. He just couldn't imagine her saying the words 'I'm sorry'.

When he was done Mouse walked over to the far wall were the red and green hand scanners sat. Green for awake, red for asleep. "Mouse hold on a sec and let me get my gun, just in case"

Mouse nodded and waited. When Steven came back with his pistol in hand he said "I've stationed the guards outside this door incase something goes wrong. At least this room isn't soundproof" Mouse rested his hand on the green scanner. A green mist filled the room before dissipating, leaving the two humans staring at the still sleeping Hoto woman. "Huh, the tests I ran said that that chemical mixture should have worked. I wonder..." Mouse's voice trailed off and he started walking towards the sleeping Hoto. He then jerked back when he felt Steven grab his collar and pull Mouse behind him.

"What are you doing?" Mouse asked. Steven inclined his head towards Mouse but never took his eyes of the Hoto when he said "She's faking it" Mouse peered over Stevens shoulder and asked "How can you tell?"

"Her breathings too quick, her bodies tense and her hands are clenched like a fist. She's awake. Probably hoping you'd get close enough to pollen"

When Steven finished talking the Hoto's black eyes snapped open. Her head twisted towards them and she had that same haughty tone that ruined her voices natural beauty. "Well well well, aren't you two cute. The dominant protecting the submissive from little old me. Two ugly little creatures brought together. Please leave the room when you two start to fuck." Steven snarled at the woman and replied "first off, I'm in love with a WOMAN. Second, Mouse is straight and third from what we know you're not exactly a beauty among the Hoto yourself. Or was it someone else crying on that log?"

The Hoto snarled and trashed against the bindings but they wouldn't budge. "You want to untie these bindings and say that to my face you furless ape!" Stevens and Mouse's eyebrows shot up at the words furless ape. Mouse stepped out from behind Steven and curiously asked "How did you know we were evolved from apes?" The Hoto opened her mouth for another snide remark but paused when she saw that Mouse was genuinely curious and not cautious like Steven.

"My people were exploring the stars when yours was just evolving. To be honest we thought you wouldn't make it this far. We even had a plan to destroy your world should you prove us wrong" When she said that Steven stepped forward and demanded "What the hell do you mean destroy us?! What'd we every do to you" The Hoto stubbornly turned her head and refused to talk. Steven stomped forward but Mouse blocked his path and pulled him away. Mouse began to whisper "Steven you can't treat her like that" Steven looked at Mouse like he'd lost his mind.

"Are you kidding me. You heard the things she said to us. Me I can understand but you've been nothing but civilised and she treats you like crap" Mouse just shook his head.

"Steven you have to look at it from her point of view. In her society she's hideous, mocked, picked on and even beaten! All because by their standards she's not beautiful enough, not good enough. Now she's on a ship filled with people who by Hoto standards are worse looking then her. For once in her life SHE'S the beautiful one, SHE'S the superior one. Right now she's treating us like her people treat her and your tone and attitude aren't helping!"

Steven just sighed, rubbed the bridge of his nose and asked "What should I do"

Luckily Mouse had an answer "Treat her like you would treat Alias" Steven just shook his head "How will that help"

"In her mind we should awe striken by her. We should feel grateful just being near her because that's how her people treat the most beautiful. I've seen the way you look at Alias, the way you act around her. You believe she's the most precious thing in the galaxy to you and she probably is. This Hoto believes that for once in her life she'll experience that same... adoration that she's seen so many others get because compared to us she's beautiful. Now go and make her feel beautiful"

At Mouses encouragement Steven slowly started walking towards the Hoto, cursing Mouse's gynophobia and praying Alias didn't find out about this. He sat down on the bed and tried to imagine that he was talking to an angry Alias, which he would have to do later.

"I'm sorry" Steven began in a soft voice "What I said was insensitive and I didn't mean to hurt your feelings its just that I'm very protective over my family and friends. Seeing you insult Mouse just... set me off. Please, will you at least look at me" The Hoto turned her head and was still glaring at Steven but the glare had lost most of it venom. Steven smiled "I'm Steven by the way and as you might have guessed thats Mouse"

"I don't care about your names" She turned her head and started to ignore them again. Steven just gave Mouse a look that said 'I tried' and stood up to leave. Just before they left they heard a small musical voice say "Hatic. My name Hatic"

They smiled and left.

---------------------------------------

Three days had past and things with Hatic had gotten better, if only marginally. She still held that superior tone but her heart wasn't in it. Steven tried to make up with Alias but her only response was "As long as that THING is on board, I don't want to be near you" Steven would be lying if he said that didn't hurt. He still spent time with his kids William and Chorus and anytime Alias tried to seperate him from his kids Steven gave her a warning. He would tolerate her attitude because he understood why she felt that way but if she tried to take his kids from him he'd put her through the wall.

Mouse was working over time to try and find that fucking 4% genetic marker that proved that Hatic wasn't a Locust but so far no luck. Not even the long range probe readings that agreed with him knew why the Hoto and Locust are genetically different. Hatic didn't help things either as she constantly interrupted his work due to boredom. When he tried to explain the danger her people were in Hatic just laughed it off because she said she didn't believe that the 'furless apes' could be that dangerous.

Hatic demanded a lot of their time. She wanted someone to talk too, to play with, to argue with. Hatic has even taken to playing chess. Mouse never stood a chance but Steven actually beat her, to her amazment. When she demanded to know how he cheated Steven simply replied "I'm an officer in the military. Strategy is what we do" Then they'd argue again. Sometimes when Hatic was really bored she'd kiss Mouse on the cheek just to see how fast she could make him go red, stutter and faint. 6 seconds was the record so far. She tried it on Steven and laughed when his cheeks blushed but he didn't stutter or faint.

However to Mouse's dismay it was time to bring Hatic to see Captain Hollister and present his evidence.

"We're screwed! We. are. screwed. S-C-R-E-W-E-D SCREWED!" Mouse was nervously bouncing on his heels in the elevator while Steven stood beside him trying to calm him down. Behind them stood Hatic and behind her stood two guards with sonic rifles aimed at her back. Hatic didn't really care though as she was busy comparing Stevens and Mouses asses.

"Mouse you need to calm down. Hollister is a sensible man with a strong conscience who's had four days to think. He won't doom a whole species out of anger. Now take a couple of deep breaths and relax."

When Steven said this the elevator doors opened to the bridge. The bridge crew stared in silence as Hatic was lead to the Ops. Room with two armed guards behind her. When the Ops. Room door opened and the unusual group stepped in Steven and the guards immediately snapped to attention and saluted. In front of them stood the U.P. council as holograms, all twelve of them not looking happy. Steven noted that their was three Flist on the council not four. The fourth being Alias's mother Nora who was probably not allowed to be here because of Steven being her son-in-law. In front of the green holograms stood Captain Hollister, his face was carefully neutral.

Admiral Andrew Maxus stood forward and began the proceedings. "These proceedings are to determine if the use of the anti-matter bomb codenamed 'Eclipse' is to be permitted use upon the Hoto race. Pleading the case of the Hoto is Dr. Ulysses Grant" Mouse stepped forward, nervously waved and backed up again "Second in command aboard the Daedalus, Commander Steven Baker" Steven stepped forward, saluted and backed up "And a representative from the Hoto a Miss..." Steven pushed the stubborn Hatic forward. She glared at him briefly before turning to Admiral Maxus "My name is Hatic. My people don't have last names. Quick question, why is your skin darker then Stevens or Mouse's"

When Hatic said this Steven and Mouse hoped that Maxus would see past her tone and recognise the genuine curiousity. Luckily he did. "My ancestors came from a country on Earth called Africa where everyone is born with dark skin. Humans are creatures of variety. Just like your wing colour differs from person to person so too does a humans hair, eyes, skin or even bone structure" Hatic nodded, her curiousity satisfied.

"Dr. Ulysses would you please step forward" When Admiral Maxus addressed Mouse he jumped and jerked forward, clearly nervous. Who could blame him, his words may be the deciding factor in whether a species lives or dies "Can you please explain the genetic differences, if any, between the Hoto and the Locust" Mouse rapidly nodded, took a deep breath and started to talk.

"The genetic similarity between the Locust and the Hoto is 96%. While that may seem large I would remind the council that when the animals on Earth still existed there was a 96% genetic similarity between Humans and Apes. Somewhere along their evolutionary line their two paths diverged. Some became Hoto, some became Locust. That does not in anyway make the Hoto responsible for the acts of the Locust"

Admiral Maxus nodded at this and asked Mouse to step down, which he did happily. "Commander please step forward"

Steven stepped forward, saluted and stood at ease "Commander you have shown a large amount of support for the Hoto. A man with your military experience, political and social standing should know better then to choose sides"

Steven knew what Admiral Maxus was talking about. It was Steven who found Alias, it was Steven who impregnated her and it was Steven and Alias who introduced the Flist women to Humanity. Just as some call Alias the Mother of Humanity there are some who call Steven the Father of Humanity. That meant he had a lot of support among both Humans and Flist.

"Can you please explain WHY you thought it was necessary to support the Hoto" Steven stood tall and responded in a powerful voice "Because they aren't the Locust, and neither are we"

Murmers of confusion rippled amongst the Admirals before Maxus finally asked "What do you mean Commander"

"If we destroy the Hoto out of fear, out of a need for revenge then we'll be no better then the Locust. We cannot let fear turn us into the very monsters we hate" The former Flist priestess, now an Admiral stood forward and asked "May I speak"

Maxus nodded and replied "The council recognises and grants Admiral Fields wish to speak"

She stepped forward, her head held high and asked Steven "Commander if I were to say... kill Dr. Ulysses. What would you do" Steven glared at her and snarled "They'd never find your body"

Admiral Fields seemed happy with that comment "Exactly. You'd act out, you'd want to kill the person who killed your friend. Dr. Ulysses is just your friend but you'd be willing to kill me if I killed him. Now what about family. I for one would kill anyone who hurt my family, a feeling most if not all of you share. Lets not forget that the Locust and the Hoto are family. Who's to say they don't want to kill us as well"

Hatic scoffed and strided forward "If you think we'll be sad that the Alrisins are dead then your wrong. People will probably start celebrating."

Admiral Fields had to ask "I assume the Alrisins are the Locust" Hatic let out a sarcastic "What was your first clue" before turning to the Admirals "Look, we've got nothing against you guys. I've got pretty attached to those two furless apes behind me" Steven and Mouse just sighed and didn't say anything knowing that asking her not to call them furless apes was useless. "but you do not have the right to destroy my people out of fear"

Admiral Fields just gave Hatic an evil look and said "Why not. YOU'RE people were going to wipe out Humanity. What gave you that right" When Admiral Fields said that the council began to worry, already mentally wondering if they really should use the Eclipse bomb. Hatic loudly broke the council from it's thoughts "But we didn't did we. It's only fair that you return the favour"

Admiral Maxus stepped forward "So there is truth to Admiral Fields words. The Hoto had plans to destroy Humanity. Why" Steven walked up behind Hatic and whispered "the truth Hatic. Otherwise the Hoto are goners" Hatic took a deep breath, obviously pained with what she was about to say "We were afraid of you" The council went deathly silent at this, wondering how an advanced space fairing people could have been afraid of them.

"My homeworld, the world where the Hoto and the Alrisins came from was at war. There were a total of 7 races on our planet Cassia and the Alrisins were the most feared. My people and 3 other races were herbivores, two others omnivores like yourselves and the last carnivores, the Alrisins. The Alrisin nation had eaten all animal life in their country and soon began to spread to others. Any of the 7 races that stood against them were eaten. When all the animals were dead the Alrisins, in their eternal hunger, turned against the 7 races. They ripped apart town after town, city after city, country after country, eating anyone they saw for dinner. My people fled our world in our organic ships using the Construct seeds. The only reason we managed to escape is because while our ships don't have much firepower or defense, their speed and auto repair ability is unmatched"

"We began our search for a new home. We knew that eventually the Alrisins would devour all life on Cassia and they would head to the stars for food. We needed a far away planet and in our exile we found Earth. My people live for 3000 Earth years. Time flies by us and we never really notice it. We started to study the animals on Earth for scientific gain. We left and when we returned the apes had evolved into Human. We left and returned again to find cities of stone and powerful weapons like cannons and guns. In just a few thousand years your species had become the Apex Predator of your world. Such rapid development was astonishing to us and you were still growing. When the most advanded race on Cassia was at the level of technology of your 21st Century, it took them 56'000 years to create the first spaceship on Cassia. You did it in a few hundred years.

"We thought that your rapid development was good. That you would become strong enough to defeat the Alrisins and we would get back Cassia. But some pointed out that there were Humans who ATE other Humans, just like the Alrisins ate the other Cassians. Fear began to grow as more and more people thought that we would be trading the Alrisins for something worse, something stronger. Eventually our leaders began to draw plans that would destroy your world and Humanity. By the time we had built a bomb strong enough to destroy Earth your second World War was coming to an end. Your Allied forces had won, you beat back the moraless enemy and celebrated but its what you did next that gave our leaders pause. You learned from your mistakes. Not only that you took weapons of death like the Axis rockets and used them to create the first spaceship. You turned something designed to kill and made it into something great"

"We decided to leave Humanity alone. We headed back for the new world and deconstructed our ships. We knew that the time when Cassians watched over the stars was over and that Humanity would take our place as the Guardians of the galaxy. The Protecters of planets that are not ready to defend themselves from species like the Alrisins. We believed that if you could destroy the Alrisins then you deserve to become the new Guardians. We left our fears behind years ago and the galaxy is a better and safer place for it because of your people. I'm asking you to do the same" When Hatic stopped talking silence reigned over the room as the Admirals tried to come to terms with what they just heard.

Admiral Maxus stepped forward "We will have a brief reccess while we make our decision"

The holograms disappeared and the room was silent. Hatic turned around to face Steven and Mouse and they could see the pain in her eyes, it must not have been easy to describe Cassia's downfall. Mouse rushed forward and wrapped Hatic in a frontal hug resting his head against her shoulder. Her black eyes widened in shock, she was so shocked that she didn't even hear Steven come up behind her. She felt his arms wrap around her waist and her back was softly pulled against his chest. Steven kissed the back of her head like he does whenever his kids are sad and whispered "I'm sorry we had to put you through that. You did great. We're proud of you" Hatic felt Mouse nod in agreement against her shoulder and she felt like she would burst into tears. She had never been held like this before, she felt safe, loved.

The Hoto are polygamists. It's very common to see a woman or a man with 2 or more bonded and since gender didn't matter they tend to have large families. Hatic closed her eyes and sighed contently, wondering what it would be like to wake up between Steven and Mouse every morning. Unknown to either Steven or Mouse a sly grin spread across Hatics face. Getting Mouse off ship would be easy, she'd just have to kiss him and he'd be out like a light. Steven on the other hand would be a problem. He had two kids and a Flist wife and Flist are possessive bonded. He was a fighter too which meant she couldn't just knock him out with her fists. The sleep pollen was out as they both are immune. But it didn't matter, she'd find a way. She loved them and thats all that mattered to her.

Captain Hollister wasn't a fool though. He had been watching everything with a critical eye and he recognised that look on Hatics face. The Flist women got that same look when they fell in love and it always said the same thing. Come hell or high water he will be mine. Not wanting his unoffical grandkids to lose their father Hollister began thinking up plans to seperate the three. Every doctor on this ship wanted a chance to examine Hatic so switching Mouse with another doctor would be no problem. Lieutenant Commander Rodriguez was still trying to decide whether or not he should pursue his feels for Hatic. Replacing Commander Stevens with Rodriguez shouldn't be a problem. Afterall it was well known that Steven would do anything to make the people close to him happy.

The room glowed green for a second before the U.P. council appeared as holograms again. Mouse and Steven pulled away from Hatic, to her displeasure, as Admiral Maxus stepped forward and delivered the decision "We, the United Planetary council, have decided to NOT use the Eclipse bomb on the Hoto" Mouse whooped and jumped on the spot. At the incredulous looks he was getting he stopped. Hatic grinned and slapped him on the back while Steven chuckled. With the verdict delivered the Holograms faded out one by one.

In a dark room on Earth stood the Flist woman Admiral Fields. When she lived in the caves in the time before the joining with Humanity, nicknamed the Unity, she had told countless horror stories about the SkyDemons. She glared at the wall and called for her secretary. "Get me Head Valkyrie Luna on the line, I have a mission for them" If the U.P. would not wipe out every last trace of the SkyDemons then she will. It wouldn't be too hard to convince Luna to destroy the Hoto. She noticed the way that Hoto THING had looked at Commander Steven and Dr. Ulysses and if there was one thing everyone about knew Flist women it was that they were possessive. Head Valkyrie Luna took that possessiveness to extremes. In Luna's mind Human men belong to Flist women and anyone who tries to seperate the two species will be slaughtered.

Admiral Fields sat down and grinned. Luna will believe her lie about the Hoto women trying to take the Human men away from them and the Hoto will be lucky if they get a quick death. A little white lie to wipe out every trace of the SkyDemons forever.

------------------------------

Alright thats another chapter done. Next up the Valkyries head to the Hoto world, will the Daedalus crew be able to stop the destruction of the Hoto. And what about Hatic, will she fall for Lt. Commander Rodriguez or will she live happily ever after with Steven and Mouse. Either way there will probably be a cat fight between Hatic and Alias.

P.S sorry about the no sex scene but on the plus side that cat fight will be pretty dirty.
