Heart of a Wolf

This is perhaps the deepest poem I have ever wrote. I mean for once that I still harbor the feelings that caused me to write it. This poem was written, after an IM chat conversation with perhaps my favorite surrogate big brother, Apollo. He and I met in 6th grade when I had nowhere else to sit during lunch on the second day. Well after going to a Catholic school for elementary, and having no concept of dating, or desire to date or even speak to a guy, sitting with one at lunch is a big step. Especially when his mind is perverted as some of the authors here, and I mean that affectionately. He introduced me to anime such as Strawberry Panic, Elfen Lied, Chobits, and got me a button at an Anime Convention, thinking I didn't know what Yuri meant. I am perfectly aware it does not only mean Lily. Well, in 10th grade, I finally got the guts to ask him out. Apparently I was too close to him then, or waited too long or something...his response was "I'm sorry, Fangz, I only see you as a little sister." Those who don't understand the insults: 1. He used the nickname I got from a friend who abandoned me in 9th grade. 2. I'm older than he is. 3. we aren't related at all. 4. I just told him I love him, something that I never do if I see them as a sibling. 5. The only people he "loves" have been online and out of state...five insults in one sentence...amazing record.

Maybe sometime you’ll see this,
Then maybe you will be my own.

Years pass between us,
Still you’ve never noticed me,
Am I so unimportant?
That you never seem to see.

Please say you love me,
Even just tell me you care,
No matter what I will love you,
And I will always be there.
