Groaning, Frank stretched his limbs. He was relaxed and lazy. “I've got to take my groceries up,” he mumbled, keeping his eyes closed. “Put it all away, and do some housekeeping.”
“Housekeeping... Yeah. Me too.” Menno was lying on the sofa, legs stretched out over Frank's lap. “Bleh,” he added with a yawn.
Patting Menno's shins, Frank sat up. “Move that bum, lazy bastard... I'm going to dress up or I'll never leave.” Of course, the blonde didn't move, so Frank pushed his legs on the floor and stood up to pick up his clothes. “We can be lazy tomorrow.”
“You still want to spend tomorrow with me?”
“Of course...” Frank noticed the tone of voice, but ignored it. “That's why I'm going to clean the apartment today. I'll have the whole day to spend on the couch with you, a thick book and the air conditioner.”
“Your place, then?” Menno sat upright, still stark naked.
“My place. Just choose a book for me and bring over whatever you need.” Frank tucked his shorts in his pocket for the time being, and bent to pull on his sneakers.
Menno crossed his legs, watching him. “We shouldn't spend much time together in the beginning. You know that, don't you?”
“We shouldn't? Why? It feels good, so why shouldn't we?”
“That's what they say...”
“Ah. 'They'. 'They' say a lot, but I never listen. I always do what 'I' want, not what 'they' say. Kiss...” Pecking a kiss on Menno's lips, he ruffled his hair. “I'll listen to you, though. Do you want to see me at work, Monday?”
“That too... It's just that... I don't know.”
“Insecure Menno is back, right? Say... Shall we go to the beach tomorrow? It'll probably be crowded, but we can take the train and avoid traffic. Then we'll have enough distraction and can still be together. Okay?”
Menno's eyes lit up again. “Take our books and a picnic with us to the beach... What a great idea. Oh... but then I have to search for my beach shorts...”
Frank laughed softly, and kissed him again. “I'll leave you to it. Don't panic now, mh? I see you tomorrow morning. We'll have a cup of coffee, and go. No rush, no obligations. Only relaxation. Deal?”
“Deal.”
The beach. Very seldom, the beach was like in advertisements and movies. This country had no white sand beaches, or handsome young people slowly running through the surf. It was one of the reasons Frank didn’t often went there. One of the other reasons had to do with the female kind; he didn’t like to lie half-naked and to be ogled by women.
To lie down half-naked with a beautiful guy like Menno right next to him, now that was a whole different story.
They’d brought coffee and sandwiches with them. Since it was still quite early, they had been able to find a nice spot away from the path and crowd, and close to the water. They could enjoy the sun with a cool breeze coming from the sea, and if they got bored, they could stroll along the boulevard.
“What a wonderful idea,” Menno sighed contently. He was lying on his belly, his head resting on his arms. He kept his eyes closed, smiling, as Frank rubbed sunblock on his shoulders and back. “Mm… I bet you’re good at massaging as well.”
“Nah, I never took lessons. It’s just nice to feel you under my hands, really.” Before it would become too obvious, Frank moved to Menno’s legs, and then rubbed some of the cream on his own shoulders. “You’re not going to fall asleep, are you?”
“Can’t make promises. This is lovely.”
Frank smirked a bit, and pulled out the books. He had slept enough already. For the next hour, he read what Menno had brought him, while the younger man slept next to him. He barely looked up, but as he did, he noticed a few young women sitting a few meters away, looking at them. They even giggled. Oh, marvelous…
Acting as if he hadn’t seen them, Frank flipped the page. To make matters worse, Menno woke up, stretching and rolling on his back. Now he had to ignore that too, as the mere sight of the lean body moving like that made him warmer. Menno’s content groan made him closing his eyes. As he opened them again, the girls had shifted closer.
“We’re being watched.”
“What? By whom?”
“Girls,” Frank smirked. “I bet they’ll ask what time it is, within minutes.”
“That happens,” Menno shrugged. “Just tell them the time and ignore them. It’s probably not a good idea to kiss you, then?”
Frank laughed softly, shaking his head.
“It would stop them from coming closer, you know…”
“Would it?” Even Frank, deeply hidden in his closet, gave it a thought. But he just wasn’t ready to kiss in public. “Could you lie on your stomach again?”
“No, why? My tummy needs a tan too. Give me the sunblock, will you?” Menno took it from Frank’s reluctant hand, and squirted some of it on his stomach. Apparently unaware of the effect it had on his friend, he began to massage his torso.
“Are you done?” Frank groaned, unable to tear away his gaze. From the corner of his eye, he could see the women were most interested as well. He had to whisper now, or they would hear him. “I have to go into the water. I have to cool off.” His cock was growing; a most uncomfortable feeling since he wasn’t able to push it in a better angle. He moved his hips a bit in an effort to make a dent in the sand under his towel, but it only made it worse. He saw Menno’s hard nipples, and imagined biting them. His hot gaze slid up, to the delicious lips, and he longed for a hot kiss. “Menno…”
“Yes, love?” Menno smiled, his large eyes looking at him with pure innocence. “Want that kiss after all?”
“Oh, yes…” Just as one of the girls collected enough courage to approach them, Frank leaned over to Menno, and kissed him with passion. The squeal almost made him freeze, but Menno wasn’t bothered by it. The blonde pulled him closer, wrapping his arms firmly around his neck, and deepened the kiss. Within seconds, Frank had forgotten about the women. He’d forgotten about anybody but Menno, and his hot, delicious tongue. He gasped for air as they broke the kiss. Now he was even harder, but it was less uncomfortable. “You’re such a good kisser,” he groaned quietly.
“I’m glad you think so… So are you, for that matter. Want to swim? You can cuddle me in the water…”
“What a nice idea.” Purposefully ignoring any potential onlookers, Frank stood up and quickly moved towards the sea. Menno followed at a short distance, pushing him as soon as they hit the surf.
“We should’ve brought a ball!”
“Got two balls for you, if you want to play.” The water was nice and cool. Frank sank down on his knees to let the waves flow against his aroused front.
“That’s just not the same, is it. Come a bit deeper with me…” Menno waded along, until the water was above his waist. He caught Frank between his arms, hugging him. “Now tell me. Your first kiss in public. Was it that bad?”
“That shriek startled me.” Pushing Menno on his back, he sank on his knees again, until only his head stuck out of the water. Now he dared to cuddle him back.
“It was only a sound coming from two disappointed girls, you know. They weren’t disgusted of anything… What are you so worried about?”
With a sigh, Frank leaned his forehead against Menno’s, and shrugged. “I can’t help it. I was raised with the idea gays are bad. My dad made sure we knew that. I’m gay, so I’m bad, and people will scorn me.”
“Is that the worst what will happen? A bit of mockery? Darling; I come from a small village. You’re born in the big city. You haven’t experienced anything yet, and you never will.”
“You didn’t exactly yell you were gay when I met you, either. Isn’t that the same?”
“Maybe.” Menno also shrugged. “I saw all those men and decided I wanted to blend in for a change. When I saw you, in all your beautiful masculine glory, all I wanted was to be your friend. Just to be with you, if you know what I mean. I was afraid you would want to keep at a distance if you knew I was gay before you really got to know me.” He drew back, leaning back in the water, pulling Frank with him at his hands.
Frank slid atop of him, rubbing their wet bodies together. Menno was warm in the cold water. He simply couldn’t resist kissing him again.
“I want you to come out,” said Menno, nuzzling him. “Maybe not now, but I don’t want to be a secret. I want to be able to cuddle and kiss you whenever I feel the need, without looking over my shoulder. Can you do that for me?”
Frank gave it some thought, and nodded barely visibly. “Aren’t you afraid of queer bashers or something?”
“No one will ever try to attack you, will they? With all those marvelous muscles and all… Mm… You’re so strong and handsome, and you’re all mine.”
“I’m not afraid, Menno.” Frank tried to keep the hands from roaming over his body, without too much effort to succeed. “I’m afraid they’ll do something to you.”
“Oh, pooh. I may be gay, but I’m not a fag. I came out five years ago, and no one ever tried to hit me for it. They gave me looks, yes. But that’s easily ignored.”
“Maybe I should…” Frank averted his eyes, and slid his arms tight around Menno’s waist to pull him close. “Maybe we should go to the capital, where no one knows me. I have to make a start somewhere, but not here. I always feel like everybody is looking at me, here.”
“Then we’ll go to the capital. Not that you’re doing a bad job today, though. You’re cuddling and fondling me, and we’re in the open for anyone to see.” Menno kissed him again, deeply, slowly drawing back. “I’m proud of you already, Frankie.”
Frank smiled at that. It made him feel better, and the kisses were delicious. “It might take a while before I tell my father… He’s the last one to know, I’m afraid.”
“Alright, let’s make that a goal… First you’ll learn there’s nothing to worry about, and then you’ll tell your father that you’ve found a beautiful partner who’ll look after you, and who makes you happy, just as he always wished for you.”
“If you put it that way, it sounds terribly easy,” laughed Frank.
“It is easy. You’ll see. You’ll discover you’ve hidden in that closet for no reason at all, I promise. The world is your oyster, my parents always say.”
“If that’s so, than you’re the rare pearl, hm?”
“I like that…” Menno winked at him. “Have you cooled off yet? I could do with another coffee.”
“Do you really think I’ll ever cool off with you so close? No chance, handsome. But let’s get back and have coffee. We’ll have a walk later, and talk some more.”
“Told you; talking is good.” Holding Frank’s hand, Menno waded back to the beach. “We have to reprogram you, that’s all.”
Frank wondered how long it would take to get thirty years of conditioning out of him, but he was about to find out. He felt he was on the right track already. He didn’t pull his hand back, not even when they approached their towels. The girls had gone, probably to find other handsome men who were interested in women. Frank had forgotten about them.
The rest of the day they spent together, talking. Frank had never talked so much in his life. Well, not like that; he actually liked it…
Groaning, Frank stretched his limbs. He was relaxed and lazy. “I've got to take my groceries up,” he mumbled, keeping his eyes closed. “Put it all away, and do some housekeeping.”
