Chapter Six: Sweet Offer
The question just hung in the air for awhile as Alex thought about it. An endless supply of basically free candy was really nice… but at the same time, he didn’t really want to have sex with Cody. He frowned at the possible scenarios as they played through his head, and Cody noticed it. He didn’t want Alex to decline so soon, so he tried a different approach. Leaning up close to the other boy, he kissed him again, this time letting his tongue come out to play. Alex’s mouth was a little too sweet for Cody’s taste, but he didn’t mind it… that much.
Alex pushed him away, though. “Listen, Cody,” he told him, “I’m sorry, but I really don’t… want to do that with you. I’m sorry.”
The brunette frowned at him. “Why not?” he demanded. “I’m being nice, I promise you candy, what else do you want?”
“How about someone that isn’t just after sex?” was Alex’s only answer, standing up, ready to leave. “I’ll see you at school Monday.”
“But, you can’t leave yet. Are you sure you don’t wanna fool around today?”
“I’m positive,” replied the blonde. “Look, I want something more than just sex.” I can’t believe I’m actually saying this, he thought to himself. “See you at school.” He turned and went out the door, glad to be out.
The walk home was anything but pleasant though.
He couldn’t get the question out of his head. Did he really seem that desperate in Cody’s eyes? No, Cody himself was probably the desperate one, figuring that if he can’t have Lance then he’d try for the sweet temptation of Alex. Sighing, the blonde wondered to himself, “Why is this happening to me?”

As Monday came around, Alex reluctantly returned to school. At lunchtime, he was actually ignoring his lunch, which was, yet again, full of sugary snacks. Lance looked him over worriedly. “What’s up with you today?”
Sighing, the blonde said, “Cody was saying that he’d give me an endless supply of candy…”
“Okay…”
Then Alex continued, “All I’d have to do is have sex with him.”
Lance blinked at him. “What the hell? Why?”
“I think he’s still trying to make you jealous, Lance…”
The dark-haired teen sighed lightly. “Well, this sure isn’t going to work for him.”
“I know that… but the sad part is… I actually almost said yes to it.” Alex let his head fall onto the table. “I can’t believe it.”
“Why would you ever say yes to something like that? Are you really that obsessed with candy?”
“It’s not entirely the candy,” the blonde countered, glaring at his friend a little. “Getting rid of my virginity would be a major step for me in my goals of hooking up with an older guy.”
“Ew,” was all that Lance had to say about that.
“Why ew?”
“An older guy? That’s so gross.” Lance looked his friend right in the eyes. “Don’t you think you’re maybe crazier than Cody because of that?”
“It’s not gross! They know a lot more when it comes to fun in bed, dude.”
“If that’s all you’re fucking interested in, then why didn’t you just have sex with Cody?”
“Because he’s creepy, okay?”
The two boys kept arguing about it, even after the lunch bell rang. The heated words didn’t stop until Lance literally blurted out, “Hell, sleeping with me would probably be safer for you than going with any of those other guys!”
“Fine, I’ll accept that offer!” and Alex stormed off to his next class.
Lance just stood in the hall, shocked at what he had just said, and that Alex had accepted it. “Oh, fuck,” the teen groaned, not looking forward to it at all.

At the end of the day, Alex snuck out a different way. Thankfully, he managed to avoid Cody all day. Though, there was the chance that he had actually stayed home from school. Still, it was nice to not have to see him. As Alex walked home, he remembered what Lance had suggested, and giggled lightly. He had meant to just shut the boy up, which he did. He didn’t seriously think it would happen, but Lance would definitely be a better choice than the psychopath known as Cody. “Eh, I’ll worry about it later,” the blonde told himself, stopping by the park on his way home. For now, he wasn’t going to worry about either of them. Instead, he was just going to sit on a bench and relax for awhile. He really needed it.
