Chapter
5

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>

style='mso-bidi-font-weight:normal'>Snowy Hell

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>The
next day was seemingly rough. Saraleese was so troubled that she thought about
skipping school, but she knew that that was not an option.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>‘Liara
depends on me….’ She thought, as she knew perfectly well that Liara was
probably having a worse time due to her encounter with Laurence.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Saraleese
had found herself freely pondering over everything that had happened as she
drove mechanically. The entire drive to class allowed her this pensive state
only because Liara had decided that there was not much to say throughout the
morning, so Saraleese figured the same.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Both girls almost sighed in relief when they
reached the parking lot of the school as their anxiety to be out of the car
became very blatant.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>However,
as desperate as Saraleese was to avoid talking about what had occurred, she
still thought that it was the sisterly thing to do and ask Liara how she was.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Hey…you
ok?” she asked as soon as the car was parked. The words stopped Liara from
leaving the vehicle as she paused.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Hesitantly,
she moved so that she was sitting straight again and facing forward.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“If
I say yes…you won’t believe me….and I should be ok…I mean he's dead right?” it
was as if Liara was trying to convince herself of that.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Lowly,
Saraleese spoke honestly. “No you don’t have to be ok….Lia, he was our—”
however her sentence was cut short when someone knocked on the window of the
passenger seat.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Curiously,
both girls turned their attention towards Liara’s window.

class=GramE>When
she realized who it was, Liara pressed down on the button that enabled her to
pull down the window.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Morning
Mayla, what’s up?” the words came out falsely cheerful but thankfully to Liara,
Mayla did not notice it.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Morning,
Lia, Sara…” she had hesitated a bit when Saraleese had addressed her. Somehow, Saraleese
had gone over well at this new school. Her popularity beamed and Liara noticed
that it intimidated certain people. This fact was eerie, for Liara knew that
there was nothing intimidating about Saraleese—well aside from the fact that
she practiced the arts of Wicca and would never hesitate to eliminate anyone
who crossed her. Nope, there was nothing intimidating about her sister at all.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>When
Mayla felt content after Saraleese had addressed her, she continued.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Um…I
just wanted to ask you if wanted to go shopping tonight or something…you know
for dresses.” It seemed as if she was self-conscious when she said this but
neither of the girls understood the question let alone why she was so sheepish.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Seeming
to understand by Liara’s clueless face, Mayla sighed and began to explain.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“I
wanted to get something nice for the upcoming dance…remember—the
dance.” She emphasized on the word to
try to jog Liara’s memory.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>In
rendition, she started over. “We always have a series of dances here in Artika
and the upcoming one is on the same night of Mr. Baronet’s big play debut.
It’ll probably be a big night for you…”

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Slowly,
Liara’s mind began to work as she recalled seeing fliers all over the school
hallways about some big event.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Um…I
don’t know…” Liara started when she was finally clued in. Dancing was not
something that she enjoyed. She had no talent for it.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>However,
Mayla refused to give up. “Oh I’m sorry—that was probably rude of me. Sara can
definitely come if she wants to.” Mayla added pleading but it seemed as if she
saved that one just in case.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>As
if contemplating it, Saraleese was about to reject but Mayla did not even let
her finish. “Or if you guys have plans to go already maybe I could join in.
It’ll be a real drag to go alone and Kathy’s already going with her boyfriend…”
she seemed to trail off at the end but Liara did not mind the opportunity to
butt in.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“You
know what…I’m in, but maybe tomorrow all three of us could go, okay?” Liara
offered in rendition to Mayla’s persistency.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Mayla
smiled in a glow as she nodded happily and, when she was about to leave, Liara
stopped her as she got out of the car and walked with her to their class.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Saraleese
grumbled unhappily when she saw her sisters attempt to avoid further
conversation.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>In
frustration, Saraleese dropped her head as she pressed her forehead to the
wheel.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Shutting
her eyes tightly, she stayed like that for a few good minutes; not caring who
saw her for she only hoped that no one would notice the tears that flowed down
her face. Liara was not there for her to worry over which left her mind free to
wander back to those dark places of her past.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>She
had easily concluded that today would be perfectly good for playing hooky.

src="Chapter%205_files/image001.gif" v:shapes="_x0000_s1030 _x0000_s1031 _x0000_s1032 _x0000_s1033">style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>What
a drag high school was for him. Evan did not have the slightest interest in
taking his classes, and, because of this, he was practically flunking all of
his subjects.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>style='mso-spacerun:yes'> It was not that he was dumb, but on the
contrary, since he knew all his classes like the back of his palm. It was more
apathy than anything else. No one in the right mind would endure meaningless
hours of tautologies that, with time, have become obsolete.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  Due to this, the school field appealed to him
in such a way that he saw the possible tranquility he could obtain from it.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>The
school field of Ark High was immense and it served for sporting events and the
class of physical education, of course, that was only when the P.E. teacher
decided to take them outdoors for the class. It also provided a spacious area
for the school bleachers.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>However,
now it was empty and silent—a perfect place for meditation.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Even
though, he did not need any of that time, for skipping class was not a routine
he had just picked up on—no—he was very used to having quiet time.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Slowly,
he grinned when he saw the limits of the field—the ones that extended
themselves out towards the dense forests of Artika—where the Magnolia trees
blossomed which was Sam’s favorite place.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>He
had been restless all day and the need to work out the knots in his muscles
itched in his blood as he eagerly ran across the large field; reaching the
limits in a matter of seconds.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Disappearing
in a blur within the trees, Evan allowed himself to relax as he darted in an
amazing velocity from tree to tree. He would only be just a vague image to
anyone who would happen to spot him, but the odds of that happening as fast as
he was going and in such a remote area was just as probable as hell freezing
over.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>He
let the wind whip through his hair as he relished in the way it smacked on his
skin. The trees should have been just smudges to his vision but due to his
sharp eyesight, he could even make out the small pebbles and rocks that formed
the ground below him. It was invigorating to let MOST of his unnatural
instincts take control every once and awhile.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>However,
he had slowly found out that his mediation time was actually necessary.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>His
thoughts had wandered until they reached a place that he thought did not exist
for him. The worry…he was having trouble understanding why his brother
proceeded in acting so reckless.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>‘He
hasn’t fed on a witch in awhile and now he’s actually infatuated with one...!’
thought Evan as his frustration over Sam started to get the better of him.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>‘It’s
as if he’s turning into a human…’ he snorted over that possibility—a
possibility he secretly wished was true even if he did not confess it to
himself, it still lied dormant within his subconscious.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>‘Human…’
he said the word almost spitefully as he pushed away those thoughts which
brought back those dreams he used to have—the dreams that were shattered by his
own reality that his mind firmly implanted, so as to avoid the immense grief
that his heart was familiar with.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Evan
was so out of it that he did not even notice when he had made it to the giant
Magnolia trees. When his feet touched firmly on the ancient branches of the
massive tree, he quickly snapped out of his trance as he groaned.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Leaning
his back on the tree trunk, he massaged the bridge of his nose as he slowly
evaluated his brother’s situation.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>style='mso-spacerun:yes'> ‘Ok so what’s the big deal…he likes a witch.
Maybe it’s just hunger and he doesn’t realize it—so that problem I can handle
then.’ his thoughts reassured him as he settled for believing that he could
help Sam with his supposed problem. However, no matter how much he tried to
convince himself there was still a nagging feeling that reminded him of how
far-fetched that conclusion was. If indeed it was the hunger then Sam never
would have risked his life to save his soon to be meal but then again Sam was
stubborn, which probably meant that he was fighting those urges. That only
meant that Evan definitely needed to be concerned and knowing Sam the way he
did, he would never admit it or come to him for help.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Sam
was much too proud to do that, aside from that he never spoke to Evan about his
troubles, and that just ate away at his patience. On some subconscious level,
it hurt Evan to know that there might be a strong possibility that Sam did not
even see him trustworthy enough like a brother. Even if they really were not
brothers, Evan definitely saw him as one.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Sighing
in remorse, Evan looked up at the small canopy that the trees formed, he mulled
over everything he saw. His vision took in his beautiful surroundings as he
always did when he was at the trees. The birds that flew overhead, which only
someone like him was able to see, and his favorite part—the beautiful sun,
which was something he could not live without.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>His
nose also took delight in the scent he picked up. Fresh wild flowers that
seemed moist with what he believed was the rain.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>‘Wait…the
magnolias will not bloom for another few weeks….’ His mind seemed perplexed but
his nose never lied to him and he did indeed pick up the smell of a style='mso-bidi-font-style:normal'>familiar flower.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Suddenly,
sobbing noises invaded his ears and he figured that someone was coming from a
distance. Naturally, he would have gone into a defensive stance but he knew
that whoever was approaching was not a threat. He figured the person to be an
unknowing human.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Almost
as if becoming invisible, Evan went rigid as he stood concealed high up within
the trees braches, motionless.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Stealthily,
he peered out to look down under him as he took in what he saw.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>His
sharp eyesight clashed with sight of a young girl—no older than his apparent
age.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>She
was beautiful with red long hair and suntanned skin. However, her face was
concealed as she hid it within her knees while sitting feebly on the tree’s
large roots.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>He
did not have to see her face to know who she was and Evan’s heart went out to
the crying girl.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>‘Sara…’
he wanted to go and comfort her but he decided against it as he thought of
taking this perfect opportunity to waste her. With his mindset, he waited
carefully while planning his attack.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>However,
he was quickly distracted when he heard her speak quietly to herself.

class=GramE>“Why?!style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>
Why—Why?!” it was the only word she repeated over and over again but the sobs
started to get stronger.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Out
of curiosity, Evan could not help himself so he decided to read her thoughts.
His ability to see anyone’s mind had always been an advantage for him and right
now, he could not ask for a better power.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Focusing
intently, he heard her thoughts so clearly, as if she had spoken them aloud.
Her pain, her sorrow—it was so justified and he sympathized with her as if he
knew exactly what she was going through.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>One
minute Evan was on the branches and the next he was standing before her. It was
as if he did not even think as he acted purely on instinct. However, they were
not the instincts he had been thinking about earlier—they were more pure.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Sara…”
he said in a soft soothing voice to capture her attention.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>He
had been so swift about approaching her that she did not even notice when he
landed before her.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Shocked,
Saraleese lifted up her head to see who had addressed her.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Her
eyes encountered Evan’s worried face and at first, she had nothing to say. Her
stare was blank as the tears streamed down her cheeks.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“What’s
wrong? Are your alright?” obviously she was not but he had to play dumb to not
blow his cover. He knew that he already had enough to explain to her and he
avoided adding more to it.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“I’m
fine…what are you doing here?” her voice sounded strained but harsh and he
guessed that she was probably not anticipating company.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“No,
you don’t seem fine and I was just skipping class like I always do.” He
justified his presence boldly as if daring her to question further.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Saraleese
did not answer; she just laid her chin on the top of her knees and worded a
small ‘o’ type sound as she sniffled back a sob while trying to compose herself
for her unwanted guest.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Daringly, Evan moved closer and sat right next
to her and when he felt her make no sign of opposition he relaxed.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “You can talk to me you know…I’m a good
listener.” He said quietly as he maintained his vision focused on everything
that was in front of him. He never once looked at her and she did not either.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“I’m
not sure if I can…,” she said meekly but her emotions that coated her voice
gave her away.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>She
wanted—no—she wished she could tell Evan everything but she knew that that was
not possible.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Evan
processed her words and they sunk in deeply. “Hmm….I once had a friend that
kept things form me…” he started saying but it was not a statement—it was an
intro to something more important he wished to share with her.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“I
tried to make him talk about his—issues…” Saraleese noted how he deliberated on
the last word and somehow this got her curious.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“But
somehow he always managed to push me away…that didn’t change anything though. I
still worried and I always knew…see life wasn’t very kind to him…” he paused
for a while and he noticed that Saraleese was looking at him intently.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Evan
smiled to himself as he stared off into the distance. His eyes, although not on
Saraleese were smoldering with emotion and she was able to see them through the
side of his face.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“He
was always so filled with sorrow and pain and after years of trying to help
him—of trying to save him—I gave up…I
settled with just being a friend…” this time he broke his gaze and turned to
stare at her.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Saraleese's
breath caught as she stared into his smoldering eyes. They were the most
beautiful shade of chocolate brown, and upon being so close, they seemed almost
transparent.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Her
cheeks heated and she found herself almost leaning into him as his breath
tickled her face. She felt lost and vulnerable as her emotions were getting the
better of her.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Sara—what
I’m trying to say is that—” his voice was just a whisper as he saw how she
reacted to his presence. He was more than willing to succumb to his needs and
kiss her but somehow he refrained from doing so.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Let
me be your friend…,” he said lowly her lips just inches away from his—her
breath intertwining with his.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Everything
started to swirl for Saraleese but when she heard him say this, she backed away
a bit as if misreading his intentions.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“I’m
sorry…” she did not look at him for she felt embarrassed at that moment.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Your
just vulnerable…” he said still in the same whisper but he never once moved his
face as he continued to look at her.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>When
she heard his voice still unwavering, she looked up surprise taking control of
her. This time their gaze locked and no longer could Evan control class=GramE>himself. Almost eagerly, he closed the gap between them as
he captured her lips in his.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>It
was something so surreal for Evan. Her lips were so warm and soft and almost
timid as they danced along with his. It was a chaste kiss but that quickly
crumbled when Evan felt the heat get the better of them.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>In
an abrupt motion, he pulled back as Saraleese tried to control her breathing.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“I’m
sorry…” his voice sounded torn almost self-loathing as he stood swiftly.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>This
confused Saraleese and she felt horrible by his reaction. She was disgusted
with herself. The embarrassment did not let her answer as she heard his apology
and saw his swift retreat—no explanation was worth stopping him.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>In
a matter of seconds, Evan had achieved a significant amount of miles as he ran
angrily through the dense woods.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>The
woods were extremely vast and he knew that Saraleese was probably as far away
as the next corner of the world.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>When
he felt the rage take control over him, he skidded roughly to a stop and let
out the most piercing rueful scream that resonated throughout the forests. The
animals were shaken as the birds fluttered into flight out of fear and away
from the agonizing creature that they could not understand.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>He
hated himself. He knew what he had done was wrong but the worst part was that
given the same situation again he would do it all over. It was worse than being
the vile creatures he fought—it was taking the pure, the innocent—and having
his way with her whenever he pleased. Never giving her the option to refuse or
object.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>His
fate with her was sealed…he would never allow himself to get that close to her
again.

style='mso-ignore:vglayout'>

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>She
felt it again…that eerie sensation she had last night as if someone was
watching her. However, this time it was not comforting…and even so, it was
still wrong to think that such inkling could be consoling. Last night she had
believed that sleeping would be out of the question but somehow, when she got
in bed, she was able to calm down. This was only because she felt as if someone
was watching over her; like some guardian angel keeping watch.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Even
if before felt good, no matter how twisted that sounded, now was much
different.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Lia,
are you ok?” asked Touler with true concern in his green puppy dog eyes.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Liara
was restless but when Touler spoke to her, she broke out of her trance as she
looked at him. It was free period for her class since her P.E. teacher was
absent and that allowed everyone to freely do as they pleased in the school’s
field. Their substitute was extremely lenient being the sole reason for their
freedom.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“I’m
fine—it’s just very chilly out here…I guess I still haven’t gotten used to this
cold temperature…” she smiled nonchalantly at Touler.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“It
is pretty cold out but I’m glad for the change of scenery.” Commented Mayla from
the lower seats of the school bleachers were she sat next to Griff and Kathy.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Hearing
her remark, Touler looked at her and back at Lia whose thoughts had wandered.
It was as if something clicked within his mind and, as he saw Lia's shivering
form, his eyes gleamed with an idea.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Hey,
I’ll be right back.” Touler spoke as he flashed his toothy sharp grin and with
one leap, he managed to jump over Griff and Mayla as he landed on the solid
ground of the field.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>It
was as if he almost flew and Liara was surprised to see this but instantly she
thought nothing of it as another shiver rattled her body. The little moment she
had to herself was somewhat unwanted as she found herself feeling remorse about
the recent events.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>She
did not know it until Touler had left—his presence actually helped, like some
kind of buffer to her emotions. ‘I guess Touler isn’t all that bad…’ she
thought with a small smile to herself. ‘Who would have guessed…?’

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“So…Lia,
you and Touler seem to get along great…huh?” Spoke a deep gruff voice that she
barely recognized.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Immediately,
her thoughts were broken as she shifted her gaze away from the boys who were
playing football out on the field. Her eyes soon crashed with a pair of deep
brown ones that stared up to her.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Looking
down towards the boy, she answered.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“What
do you mean with that, Griff?” her expression was stern as if daring him to
speak what she knew he meant.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>On
the contrary, to Liara, Griff’s stare was slightly amused as his eyes beamed.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Well,
I mean Touler seems to care about you and I was just wondering if it went both
ways…he is my friend you know and I don’t want him to be strung along.” The
comment seemed to be coercive as if he was saying it was Liara’s obligation to
respond to Touler.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Fortunately,
for Griff, Touler had appeared just before Liara could spite him with a warm
piece of cloth that seemed to be his sweater.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>With
the same leap as before, Touler made it right next to Liara as he innocently
smiled at her; bearing all his sharp white teeth.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“I
wasn’t using it so I thought, since you were cold, you could find more use for
it. That is if you don’t mind wearing my sweater.” He held out the
cream-colored sweater as he almost stumbled with his words.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“But
won’t you be cold later on?” asked Liara genuinely curious.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Touler
turned his stare towards her as he smiled confidently.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Nah,
I’m made for this weather…,” he stated with a smile in his voice.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Hesitantly,
Liara looked back at Griff as she took the sweater; after all, she was
extremely cold. However, she glared at Griff when she saw him almost chuckle
for accepting the piece of clothing.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Thanks,
that was sweet of you…,” she said lowly as she put it on making Touler beam
with utter contentment. He did not show it, though, with his actions but his
face spoke all the emotions his lips dared not.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>After
that, the class continued on as the gang sat talking with each other, mostly
about the recent event Liara was desperately trying to forget. Due to this, she
distracted herself with musings about Saraleese, their mission, and with a
certain mysterious youth, she had yet to see that day.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>‘I
hope Sam didn’t get sick…’ she thought sadly, as she started to feel guilty
over the possibility of Sam getting pneumonia or the flue because of her. All
else aside, Liara was a bit disappointed in not being able to confront him
about all the things she was wondering about.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>However,
her thoughts were once again broken when her cell phone rang. A bit surprised
by it, she fumbled to answer it as she quickly opened it to say ‘hello.’

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Hey
mom, what’s up?” Liara tried to sound as casual as her surroundings would let
her be when she noticed how her friends instantly became curious. However, they
resumed indifference to respect Liara’s privacy when they noticed that the
conversation withheld no indication of something interesting.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Silently,
Liara heard her mother speak and if it had not been for her mom actually
calling her for something utterly important, Liara would have probably not even
heard the first words.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>This
was due to the fact that her gaze, which was once again looking towards the
boys playing football, had finally found what she didn’t know she was looking
for. One boy stood out from the rest to her—he was the team’s quarterback and
he astounded Liara.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>She
noticed how he and the rest of the boys were not wearing the school’s uniform
and this allowed her to see how well defined all the participants seemed to
be—the quarterback included.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Liara
are you listening to me? You and Saraleese have permission to leave right now.
We have to get those girls back as soon as possible,” said Liara’s mother from
over the phone.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Snapping
out of her daze, Liara answered with a reluctant affirmative as she wistfully
took one glance at the quarterback all the meanwhile excusing herself from the
gang.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>She
easily managed to rid herself of them when she stated that she had a family
emergency to attend too making Touler stay reluctantly glued to his seat.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>As
Liara crossed the field, she tried looking subtly towards his way.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Upon
doing this, she noticed all the ‘popular’ girls playing volleyball—each one
seemingly stunning in their own way. It was no surprise when she caught sight
of Morgan, the girl that Saraleese had briefly mentioned. It seemed that the
volleyball team had practice today, which allowed Morgan to partake in Liara’s
gym class period.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Then—as
if she casually looked for the first time—she saw him again. Her eyes went back
to the boys that played football, and, as she walked towards the entrance to
the school building, she ogled him.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Smiling
to herself, she turned her gaze forward and proceeded in leaving—it seemed that
he had just scored a point for his team.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>‘I
finally see Sam and I’m pulled into a suicide mission
by Mother.’ Liara sighed to herself
as she cursed her luck. With no rush at all, she left the area as she made her
way towards the parking lot where she figured Saraleese was, sulking and
frustrated.

style='mso-ignore:vglayout'>

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>It
seemed like it had been hours since she had decided to scour the area. The
forest was huge and somehow that had her nerve wrecked.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>‘There
is no way I’m going to allow myself to get lost.’ Saraleese was a stubborn girl
and even if she WAS already lost, she still was determined to prove it to
herself that she was not.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>style='mso-spacerun:yes'>   There was no one to blame but herself. She
had decided that she was done feeling sorry for herself,
given all that had happened to her yesterday and today. The encounter with the
lycan, Laurence coming to find them, and now Evan making her feel style='mso-bidi-font-style:normal'>extremely unattractive—it was just too
much!

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>‘I
won’t let any of it get to me anymore…’ and here she was thinking that Liara
was having a hard time when she was the one with problem.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>She
was so lost in thought that she had almost missed that piercing cry that
reached her ears.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Instantly,
Saraleese froze in place as she processed the female scream. Hesitating no
longer, she immediately bolted in the direction she heard the voice.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>‘Great
now what?’ she thought to herself in anxiety as to what was occurring.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Coming
to a full stop, Saraleese tensed when she arrived at the scene. It was right
near the limits of the school field and that worried her immensely.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>She
saw nothing, but something caught her ear’s attention. The
sounds of something slithering—something being dragged.
Whatever was
producing the sounds was swift for it immediately died down as if it perceived
the presence of Saraleese.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Who’s
there? Show yourself!” Saraleese ordered in a firm voice as she prepared
herself for anything.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Slowly,
she saw something within the nearby trees move and then her eyes caught sight
of a small hand reaching out to grasp the tree—Saraleese figured it to be the
cover up for whomever it was that was behind it.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Timidly,
a small girl no older than Saraleese appeared before her. She was deathly pale,
her eyes were beautiful and emerald like, and her hair cascaded to her
shoulders in a beautiful blonde down.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Nevertheless,
Saraleese never softened her pose when she saw the girl. She was gripping the
silhouette of her Athamay readying herself for anything to come and her mana
was already at combat level.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“I’m
sorry did I frighten you? It was nothing to be alarmed by…I just fell and
scraped my knee.” Said the girl timidly as she sheepishly looked away—never
once did she move away from the tree.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Saraleese
was not convinced and she continued to stare hard at the girl as she
scrutinized her body.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>There
was no indication of blood, aside from the knee she had mentioned and her
clothes seemed intact with the exception of the dirt and grass stains. It
looked as if her story checked out, but who was she?

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Slowly,
Saraleese eased up her posture and spoke. “Who are you? Do you attend this
school?” she had never seen her before but then again it was a huge school and
the probabilities of Saraleese seeing or knowing everyone were unlikely.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>The
girl hesitated a bit and her eyes locked on Saraleese. It seemed as if her
stare was pleading with Saraleese to hide some unknown secret she was about to
let her in on.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“My
name’s Zavi…and I don’t go here…yet” she said tentatively as she waited for
Saraleese's response.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Saraleese's
expression was unreadable; she did not know what to say. “The principal doesn’t
know this…,” she more stated than asked.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>The
girl nodded hesitantly.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“…But
what ARE you doing here?” Saraleese had yet to know what she was exactly doing
on school property.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“I’m
just visiting the school…technically I’m not on school grounds and my family
lives just north from here—beyond the forest.” She stated straightforwardly.
However, she paused, as she seemed to want to continue.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Lowly,
she did, “I've been homeschooled all my life—you see my family is a bit
overprotective of me and they don’t let me socialize much…” again, she paused
and when Saraleese failed to see her point, she continued.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Please
don’t tell anyone of me…I just wanted to make a friend…I don’t have any and if
my family finds out I’ve left the estate I’ll never get the chance…” this time
her plea came out almost desperate and Saraleese couldn’t help but go soft.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Hesitantly,
she made her way towards the girl and knelt a bit to look at her—she seemed small
but something about her made appear to be Saraleese's age.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“I
won’t tell anyone Zavi, but maybe its best that you get back home before your
parents declare you missing…” exhorted Saraleese as she eyed her in an amiable
manner.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>The
girl was quiet for a while. She seemed to have tensed up when Saraleese closed
in on her. It was slightly awkward for Saraleese when she noticed this but Zavi
immediately spoke before the tension intensified.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Okay…I’ll
go back…,” she said a bit reluctant.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Saraleese
smiled and stood as she spoke one more time. “Oh, by the way, my names Sara and
just so you know…you can consider me as your friend.” She said grinning as she
winked at her.

class=GramE>“Really!!!”style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>
Zavi almost squealed but she quickly quieted down when she realized how loud she
had gotten. Sheepishly, she smiled and hugged Saraleese.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>The
moment quickly passed, though, when Saraleese's cell phone rang. Quickly, she
picked it up as she broke the embrace and waved goodbye to Zavi. ‘What an odd
girl…’ she could not help but think that as she reluctantly answered her
mother. Even so, she still felt sorry for the kid.

style='mso-ignore:vglayout;position:relative;z-index:13'>style='left:0px;position:absolute;left:264px;top:-1px;width:93px;height:29px'>width=93 height=29 src="Chapter%205_files/image004.gif" v:shapes="_x0000_s1040 _x0000_s1039 _x0000_s1038">style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>

class=GramE>class=SpellE>Yay! Can you believe it—I made a
friend!” Zavi’s voice was very soft and energetic when she spoke.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Almost
indifferently, she talked as she caressed her prey.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“She
seems nice too and she smells so good…”
the last statement caused the prey to have a fit when the lustful words seeped
out of her pale lips.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“class=SpellE>Shhh…don’t fret…I’ll be quick…” the sound of her voice was
almost soothing-like as she spilled the deadly words to the immobilized girl.
She was the one that had screamed before and Zavi had easily immobilized her
when she pounced. Every once and awhile, some of the students would wander too
far and that made things very easy for her kind to avoid the wolves.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Pl…class=GramE>pl…please…” the girl had lost enough blood already, which
made it impossibly hard for her to speak.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Zavi
just laughed mockingly and decided to not waste anymore time. In a swift
motion, she sunk her fangs within her neck as she easily drained her life.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Zavori,
return now!” in the same rapid motion she fed came a loud and stern voice out
of thin air. It almost rattled her when it boomed through the forest minutes
after she finished feeding.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Humph…you
take all the fun away…,” she grimaced but did as she was told. In a rapid gust,
she was gone, probably miles away into the north as she left the forest still
and motionless once again—the voice ceasing to resonate throughout the woods as
the body disappearing along with them…

style='mso-ignore:vglayout'>

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>A
short while had passed and both Saraleese and Liara had found themselves on a
snowy road that headed up to a foreign city in the far north.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Earlier
before, they both had stopped at the manor first to load up on their equipment
and necessary items. However, what scared them the most was the fact that
neither they nor their mother had a clue as to how long they would be up in the
Yukon Territory—area known for its remoteness and snowy weather.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Their
mission was to go up and find the ten missing girls that had been recruited to
their coven. However, to make matters more uncomfortable there was an extra
girl—Rayna, who had gone up on her own to try to find the girls the very same
day that Saraleese and Liara had arrived.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>The
rough estimate of how long the girls had been missing was approximately two
weeks and Rayna was missing for three going on four days.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Those
were the facts and it did not seem like the odds were in their favor. The
mission was extremely risky and dangerous but Liara did at least have an idea
as to what they were up against—not that that would give them some type of
advantage.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Instantly,
the gravity of their mission was soon confirmed when Liara’s sight crashed with
the icy road and the dense snowy wind.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Sara
we’d better hurry and find these girls as fast as possible…” said Liara
warningly as she noticed how their pace slowed due to the icy pavement.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>She
also noticed how they passed a large sign that let everyone who saw it know
that they had just entered in the limits of the Yukon Territory.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>style='mso-spacerun:yes'> As Saraleese concentrated on the road, she
spoke.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“My
thoughts exactly but it’s really not up to us.” She said as she drove slowly in
the middle of the empty road.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Liara
noticed how impossible it was for the sun to come out and she noticed how
desolate the Yukon town was.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“This
is not good…” Liara said as she looked out her window.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>In
an instant, she yelped, as she was startled when her sister hastily
accelerated.

class=GramE>“Saraleese!style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>
What the hell?!” she yelled but Saraleese just remained focused on the road in
front.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>When
Liara noticed how her sister ignored her, she quickly shifted her gaze to the
road only to turn the most whitest type of pale. She visible cringed as her
shocked eyes absorbed the sight before her—an enormous crowd of blood-covered
people stood as some kind of united front.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>They
had fierce stares as they savagely looked in their way.

class=GramE>“Vampires!”style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>
Liara gasped, as her fears became reality.

class=GramE>“Liara!style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>
Grab the wheel!” yelled Saraleese as the car crashed right through the hungry
multitude.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>They
drove right through them all leaving them behind as Liara, without hesitation,
took control of the car.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Focusing
intently, Saraleese activated her power as she spoke the Wiccan words in a low
voice.

class=GramE>“Astrium.”style='mso-bidi-font-weight:normal'> style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Soon
after the word was said, Saraleese fell unconscious as she projected herself within
the crowd.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>No
time was wasted as they immediately noticed her presence, and as fast as
Saraleese's legs would take her she ran in the opposite direction Liara was
headed.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>The
plan was working, for most of them gave her chase, but, when she made a hasty
turn around a corner in between two houses, the gap between her and the
vampires was immediately closed when they instinctively pounced on her.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Saraleese felt the ravaging claws grab hold of
her body as she let out a piercing scream. However, she quickly vanished when
she regained consciousness once again. It was like waking up from a terrible
nightmare.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Saraleese
are you ok?” Liara’s voice was the first sound that filled her ears when she
opened her eyes and grabbed hold of the steering wheel.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“I’m
fine. Those idiots bought the bait.” She said.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“But
not all of them; a few stayed behind to give me chase,” stated Liara in worry
as she turned in her seat to look back.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Crap!
The others already realized what was happening.” She screamed making Saraleese accelerate
even more.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>However,
her rapid movements made them run right over a totally frozen pathway as the
car skidded uncontrollably.

class=GramE>“Liara!style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>
Hold on!” yelled Saraleese as Liara screamed in fear while holding onto her
seat for dear life.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Hitting
the breaks as hard as she could, Saraleese gripped the wheel in attempts to
control the crazed car. Liara in means of help, rapidly shifted to her side to
pull up the emergency break, which made the car crash right into the wooden
wall of a small cabin; smashing it to pieces.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>The
air bags popped and both girls groaned in pain.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>However,
Liara immediately recomposed herself as she fumbled to get out of the car. When
she did, Saraleese followed and they both saw the rapidly moving crowd.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Saraleese,
give me your hand!” ordered Liara as Saraleese complied. Immediately they both
braced themselves for what was next.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Holding
out her other free hand, Liara activated her own active power.

class=GramE>“Auraium!!”style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Old English Text MT";
mso-bidi-font-family:GothicE'> The words immediately activated a
flow of mana from Saraleese to Liara which enabled a larger more powerful blast
emanate out of Liara’s palms.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Saraleese
stood her ground firmly as she lent some of her mana to her sister. The effort
was not in vain, as the large beam fried almost thirty percent of the vampires
and when the others saw this, they hesitated before advancing.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>It
was a short stare off as the remaining vampires fiercely eyed what they coveted
as their prey. However, none of them dared to step forward for fear of their
lives.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>The
girls as well were very cautious as they tried to slowly retreat without
breaking their offensive posture. Both Saraleese and Liara prayed that their
posture would be enough to keep them at bay.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>However,
they soon found themselves running for their lives once more when the hunger
beat the ravenous beasts, as they no longer feared them as a threat.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>The
girls ran for their lives as fast as they could searching and scanning the area
for a good hiding place, and, at the same time, memorizing the town so that
they would be ready when they would have to make their leave.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>The
buildings seemed to shake every time one of the beasts would stomp on the
rooftops, the snowy ground was crawling with the red liquid they left behind
and far away—high up on top of one of the biggest buildings there was but one
soul that able to witness all of this.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>The
scene of ravaging crazed vampires crazily chasing after the two defenseless
girls was very clear from where she was.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>However,
the last thing she managed to grasp with her sight was the bloodthirsty crowd
rampaging at an incredible speed through a large building.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Immediately
after, she shook in a tremble as she felt her soul leaving the horrid town. In
a blink of an eye, she found herself once again in the sanctity of her own
bedroom.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>As
if she was the one in that situation, she nervously wiped the sweat off her
forehead as her own reality sunk in.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>She
had finally woken up and slowly she sat up in her bed while staring at the
darkness of the room. Contemplating what she saw, her mind debated over whether
or not it was worth telling the boys.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>In
a frustrated sigh, she knew one person she had to tell, for the safety of her
family was always at stake when her ability was triggered, even if it did not
seem to have much to do with them—in some way, they were all connected.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“I’ll
tell Quinsesce but I’ll be damned if I tell Sam or Evan about this.” She said
to herself in a sigh as she recalled Evan’s encounter with Saraleese earlier
that day.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>He
did not know it but she had seen everything that had happened and she was
appalled by his weakness. She had expected something like that to happen with
Sam but never did it occur to her that Evan would slip up in such a way, and
with a witch!

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Reluctantly,
she swiftly got out of her bed and gracefully strolled towards Quinsesce's
office.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>She
knew that he was probably already aware of what she was coming to inform him
about, given the fact that he was able to perceive her emotions.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Figuring
it to be around five-thirty a.m., she paused in front of the door. ‘Quinsesce
is most likely to be awake…’ she thought and without any more hesitation, she
lightly knocked on the wooden cedar door that was of his office.

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>“Come
in Morgana…” and with that

style='font-size:16.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>Morgan
opened the door and stepped inside…

style='mso-bidi-font-weight:normal'>Wiccan Dialect: Astrium: Again
there is no actual word in latin
for astro or projection so I invented it myself. Anyways, it consists of astro
projection where Saraleese makes more illusions of herself. Later on we can see
how she creatively uses this power to maintain it as if it were a clone of class=GramE>herself
.
