Help

Davis woke to an empty bed the next morning. His ass was sore from last night’s episode, but he smiled blissfully as he recalled what happened the night before. He stretched as he sat up, groaning in as he felt pain shot through his ass. He sat still for a moment, allowing his eye to get adjusted to the dim light. As his eyes adjusted, he found that he was alone in bed. He looked around to see if Andrin was sitting on one of the chairs, but he was the only one in the room. He pouted as he saw he was alone and pulled the sheets off him. He began to look for his cloths, but to find they were gone. What he did find though was a big pool of blood that stained the sheets. Davis cringed as he knew it was his, and quickly pulled off the sheets. He was so embarrassed, but he knew it was Andrin’s fault; he was the one who broke him. Once he placed the sheets on one of the table chairs, he found a package addressed to him on the table and a breakfast plate full of fruit, eggs and toast. He smiled and picked up the small piece of paper that said “Read me.” and he read began to read it out loud.

“Dear Davis.” he began, “Last night was the happiest night of my life. I have never experience anything more magical since my brother took me to see the fairies dance. I am sorry for your cloths though. I felt so bad for destroying your cloths, I made you some new ones. Please take them as my apologies, and I wish to see them on later today. The underground is yours to play in, you can go anywhere as you please. And if you need something don’t hesitate to ask on of my servants. I am also sorry that I was not there when you wake, but I will make it up to you this evening. Love, Andrin.”

Davis smiled and set the small card down, taking up the package and pulled the brown string. He unfolded the paper and smiled as he pulled out a white clean shirt, and black slacks that were just his size. He wanted to change and find Andrin to show him, but he was filthy from last night so he wanted to take a bath first. He quickly sat down and sat down and ate the plate before him. After that. he grabbed the pants and put them on. He didn’t want to go out naked, so he put them on and headed out to find a place to bathe.

“Excuse me.” Davis yelled, seeing someone coming out of one of the conjoining rooms in the long hallway. The man who Davis saw turned, and he saw that it was the lion skinwalker he saw yesterday.

“Hello there.” he smiled as Davis came up to him. “Your name is Davis, right?” the skinwalker asked him.

“Yes, sir.” Davis smiled back at him.

“Nice to meet you. Sorry for the scare yesterday, I just didn’t want you to go the wrong way.”

“It’s okay, I will get used to it.” Davis’s smiled got bigger, and asked where he might wash up.

“Oh, we have a watering hole where you can wash. If you fallow me, I will show you.”

“Thank you, but don’t you have some important stuff to do for Andrin?”

“The King? Yes I do, but I can quickly show you the hole. You are going to be living here after all, so you need to know where it is.”

Davis smiled, but it faded and asked the skinwalker an important question to him. “Where is Andrin anyways?” walking beside the skinwalker.

“His majesty,” Kadin replied, “Is in a meeting with his inner court members.”

“Will I be able to see him?”

“Yes, you may. But only after the meeting is over.” Davis face fell and Kadin couldn’t help but to feel sorry for the boy. “But if you really want to see him, I will ask him if you can sit in on the meeting.”

“Really?”

“Yes, but only if you keep quite. Here we go, the watering hole.” he smiled, opening another pair of large doors. “Is there anything else I can help you with?”

“No thanks. Just try to get me an audience with Andrin.”

“I will see what I can do.” Kadin said, bowing at the waist before he left.

Davis was happy that Kadin helped him find the watering hole. As he pushed one of the doors in, he saw that the room was almost empty. He smiled when he only saw two or three other groups in the water, so he didn’t feel out of place. Most of the furries were on the far right had side, so he wondered off towards the left. There was a big rock that hid him, and he placed his clean cloths on it so they won’t get wet. Looking around, he saw no one was watching and waded into the cool pool. He shivered a bit as the cold water touched his naked skin, but he heated up a bit and duck his head under water. He stayed close to the edge as possible, but the waterfall to his right caught his eye and he waded over. Unfortunately, the boulder didn’t hide the waterfall and everyone could see him.

Davis moaned out as he tilt his head back and washed his messy hair, he didn’t even notice he was being watched till he tilted his head back up. He stopped and saw the furries looking back at him. He gulped and gave them a nervous, little wave. Some waved back; other just stood there and whispered to one another. Davis felt uncomfortable as they stared at him, and waded back behind the rock. He stayed there for the remainder of his bath. A few little furries cubs were curious enough to walk over and see what he was, but their parents scolded at them for wondering over and they ran off. The only two that seemed to ever stay around him were two lion cubs. He didn’t mind them, and knew from their looks that they were Kadin’s kids.

“Give that back!” Davis yelled at the lion cubs. They grew board and started to play keep away with him and his cloths. Davis wasn’t in the mood to play, and he was scared that they might drop it or toss them in the water. He began to chase after the two around the watering hole, first the older female cub then her little brother. He came so close to grabbing his cloths back, but they would always toss it before he was in grasp. They laughed at him many times and threatened to drop it in mud, causing Davis to yell at them more.

“Don’t you dare!” Davis yelled at the girl. “Those are my only pair of cloths.”

“Then you should be more careful with your cloths.” she said, with a smile on her face.

“Sahara!” all three of them heard a strong female boom through the room. Davis and the two cubs turned and saw a lioness step into the room. Davis smiled, knowing that this was their mother. She was in her lion form, but once she stepped into the room, she transformed and Davis tried not to look at her naked body. “Put Davis’s cloths down.”

“Yes, mama.” Sahara said, dropping the cloths.”

“NO!” Davis gasped, reaching for his cloths, but it was too late. Sahara was holding his new cloths Andrin gave to him over the water, so when her mother told her to drop them, she did right into the water below. He tried to reach for them to save them from the water, but he was out of reach and they dropped into the cool liquid. “Shit.” Davis mumbled under his breath, reaching for his cloths before they sank to the bottom.

“Sahara!” her mother gasped again.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to.” she said. She then bowed her head and transformed into her other form.

“I am so sorry for this.” their mother sighed, stepping over towards Davis.

“It’s okay.” Davis lied, ringing out as much water as possible. “They are still wearable.” He smiled as he put on the wet cloths, having them stick to him like a second skin. The lioness could tell he was lying, but she liked the fact nothing got to him and smiled. “You have a couple of rowdy cubs.” he told her, looking down at the two who were in their second forms.

“I know. They get it from their father.” she told him with a laugh. “But they are good kids.” she said, picking up her youngest and scratching behind his ear. “Oh, I’m Lin by the way.”

“Davis.” he smiled back, shaking Lin’s hand as she balanced her son in her arms. “I just hope they don’t do anything like that again.” he then said.

“They won’t, or they will be punished if this happens it again. Go it?” Lin looked from her son to daughter, who both nodded and ran off. “Oh,“ Lin gasped, hitting her head with her hand. “Kadin told me to come and get you. Your request for an audience with Andrin has been accepted.” she smiled. “Please come with me.” and she turned on her heels and walked out of the watering hole.

Davis fallowed Lin out of the room, wet cloths and all. He was happy that he was able to see Andrin this morning, but he didn’t want to see him all wet. But I hope that he or his inner court members wouldn’t mind. Lin had led him back to the same doors that he saw Kadin came out of earlier that day and stopped. She turned and smiled at Davis before she opened the doors. She stepped towards the side so Davis could go in, and winked at him as he passed her.

“Don’t let the others get under your skin.” she told her before he walked in.

“Thank you.” he smiled, and went into the chamber.

The chamber was just like the others, high ceiling and large in size. He stayed near the door and leaned up against the wall, keeping in the shadows so he wouldn’t interrupt the important meeting that Andrin was in. He smiled when he saw him hunched over a table and looking over some papers. He was fully dressed with a cream color shirt on, black pants like his (dry) and a matching black coat. His back was towards him so he couldn’t see him, but the gray color stallion that stood next to him did.

“Who’s this?” he asked, and everyone who was huddled around table looked up and saw Davis standing in the shadows.

Andrin was the last to look up and turned around. He smiled wide as he saw his love standing like a deer in headlights. He could tell he was scared as hell, but he turned to the horse and said, “It’s okay Sinan, he is with me.”

“But,” Canon said, the bear on his left. “We don’t allow others in our meetings, especially mortals.” he spat, looking down at Davis.

“Relax.” Andrin said, trying to calm down the bear. “As long as he keeps quiet, you won’t even know he’s here.”

“But sir.” Jaxon, the tiger said across from him. “These meetings talk about important events, and our ways of life. If he should ever escape-”

“He won’t escape, he is not a prisoner of mine. Besides, maybe he can help us with the topic at hand.”

“But sir!” all three cried.

But it was too late, Andrin motion for Davis to come over and he suffered over to the group. All three of the other furries scowled down at him as he wedge his way between Andrin and Kadin (who was standing next to his king.) He gave everyone a small wave and a nervous smile, hoping that someone might wave back but no one did. “So then,” Andrin sighed, taking up some papers and holding them up to eye level. “I was wondering if you can help us out.”

“I will try.” Davis told him, looking up at the king.

“I hope you will.” he smiled down at his love and began to tell him his problems he had within the meeting. “So now, we have about ten acres of land above us that we own. But we have a bit of trouble with growing crops. We are skillful hunters, but not very good farmers.” he laughed. Davis and Kadin smiled, but no one else did, they just stared at the two. “So I was wondering if you know any ways of helping us out. I can tell by your hands that you are a farmer.”

“Well, I do help my family out in the village fields. But I need to see the conditions of your fields, before I tell you if I can help you.”

“The fields are dead.” Sinan spat, his arms cross.

“Sinan, don’t say that.” Kadin replied. “Last time I was at the fields, I saw some life.”

“What if this mortal can’t help us then? how do we knew we can trust him? For all we know he is a spy from the local village. Besides, look at him. He is soaking wet. Who in their right mind wears wet cloths?”

“A crazy one.” Canon replied, laughing under his breath.

“More like a sloppy and lazy one.” Jaxon chimed in.

“Stop it, all of you.” Andrin yelled, looking around the table. “Now you might like Davis, but we must trust him. And since I trust him, have to do the same. His skills of farming might keep us from starving.” he looked down at his love and gave him a relaxing smile to say everything was okay. “So what we are going to do now is to go up on top, and have Davis see what the conditions the soil is. Is that final?”

“Yes, sir.” everyone said, including Davis.

The furries then filed out of the meeting room and out into the hallway. Kadin, Andrin and Davis were the last one’s to leave, but before they did they stopped and chat a while.

“So Davis,” Andrin start to asked, turning towards the boy and leaning up against the table. “How did you get your new cloths wet?”

Davis laughed and looked over towards his right hand man. “Your children decided to play keep away with my cloths,” he said and the two furries started to laugh. “Then your daughter, decided to drop my cloths in the water.”

“She did?” Karin gasped out, his face was shocked and Andrin started to laugh harder. “I am so sorry. I will talk to both Sahara and Leon about what they did.”

“It’s okay.” Davis told. “Lin said that she will talk to both of them.”

“Well I am going to have a talk with them too. They know they should not do that.”

“Oh, come now, Kadin.” Andrin said, wrapping an arm around his friend’s neck. “We were both young once; we did stupid stuff that made our parents crazy.”

“Some more then others.” Kadin said, looking over at his friend and they began to walk out of the room.

Andin laughed, knowing what he was talking about and playfully pushed Kadin out the door. “Do you want to change your cloths before heading up to the surface?” he asked Davis. Davis nodded and they headed back towards their bed chambers so he could change.

“What took you so long?” Sinan spat, seeing his king and lover slowly walked up to the inner court. They had been waiting for thirty minutes before they came up the hill. He wanted to go and see where he was, but Kadin knew what Andrin was doing and told him not to go.

“Sorry.” Davis apologized to the four furries.

“It’s okay.” Kadin said, smiling from him to Andrin. He laughed lightly to himself and knew what they had a little fun while Davis was getting redressed.

“So,” Davis sighed, staring at the vast, empty land before him. “This is where you grow your crops?”

“Yes.” Andrin said, coming up beside him. “And as you can see, it’s dead. Last year’s winter killed everything, and we can’t grow anything now.”

“I see.” Davis sighed again. He started to walk around the small area that they were in, examining the dirt.

As he scooped up the soil, the furries mumbled and whispered to each other. Some negative then others. Sinan, Canon, and Jaxon made all of the negative comments. They didn’t like the fact that their king was in love with a mortal. They thought that it went against everything that they stood for, even his father would be stirring in his grave right now. They looked numerous of times from Davis, to Andrin to each other, trying to think that there was some way of vetoing the help from a mortal. After Davis had walked a few yards on the dead ground, he came back and shifted his weight as he stood in front of the furry king.

“Well, I think I can help you.”

“Really?” Jaxon asked, surprised. All three were hoping that he couldn’t do anything, but their hopes were crushed and they fell back from the three others.

“Yes.” Davis smiled. “We had the same problem with our crops a few winters ago, but we have a special fertilizer that we put on the ground before and after every winter. I can get a few bags of it from my village if you want.”

“That would be great.” Andrin smiled, wrapping his arms around Davis’s neck and Davis wrapped his arms around his waist. “I will have your horse prepared for you after we leave this wasteland.”

“Thank you, your highness.” Davis’s smile got bigger and kissed the furry, unaware that they were being watched by four other pairs of eyes. “I will also need some money.”

“See!” Canon yelled, pointing to Davis. “I knew he wanted something out of you. He just wants your money.”

“No I don’t.” Davis argued, peeling off the wolf and walking over towards the three furries. “I need money because I have to buy the fertilizer, and new seeds to plant in the fields. Right seeds for this kind of soil.”

“Fine then,” Canon spat. “But since I am charge of the royal treasury, you are only going to get fifty reds.”

“Come now.” Kadin protested, coming up beside Davis. “Fifty reds will not buy one third of the supplies we need to re plant the fields.”

“That’s right.” Andrin said, supporting Kadin. “I will be the one who will give Davis the right amount of reds he’ll needs. Now, Sinan. Will you please tell the stable master to prepare Davis’s horse?”

“Yes sir.” Sinan said in frustration, and turned on his heels and left. Canon and Jaxon soon fallowed him, fallowed by Kadin soon after.

“They hate me.” Davis said, looking up at Andrin.

“Don’t worry.” Andrin sighed, putting an arm around Davis’s shoulders. “They don’t like me either. But they still have to obey me.” they laughed and headed back down the hill and back underground.

“Can I ask a question?” Davis asked once they were back under the willow tree.

“Sure.”

“Why do you and your court live under the surface?”

Andrin sighed and placed his arm around his shoulders again. “You’re still in school right?” Davis nodded. “Then you know about the thousand year old war?”

“Sure I do. It was an all out war, every human, vampire, and mystical beast was a part on it. Fighting for land. Basically…the whole world.”

“Right. And it was during that time my father, demanded to move everyone underground. I wasn’t born yet, until towards the end of the war. But after the Great War, my father would tell me stories of the battles. One of the stories was of how he moved everyone underground. He said that he was scared for his family and peoples lives. You see, during the war, a lot of us got killed and then skinned. So to protect his kingdom, he moved everyone down here. But a lot of furries didn’t like the idea, so they stayed up on land.”

“What happen to them?” Davis asked.

“They died. Your king, during the war, come and attacked our kingdom. He burnt our homes, kidnapped the babies, and killed everyone else.”

“So…why haven’t you moved back up on land?”

“We have, about half of us have moved back up after the war. The only people that stayed behind were those who were part of my father’s court.”

“So why did they stay, devotion to your father?”

“No.” Andrin laughed. “Ten years before the war ended, my mother gave birth to their first son. So both my father and mother decided that this cave they lived in was a perfect place for a den.”

“You have a brother?” Davis gasped.

“Yes, but that’s a different story.” They had arrived at the stables with Davis’s horse ready to go. “Now then.” Andrin smiled, changing the subject. “Here is twenty-thousand reds. Buy as much stuff as you think possible is needed for our crops, and if there is any change left you can keep it.”

“Really? Thank you.” Davis yelled, hugging his partner.

“Your Welcome. Oh and please wear this.” he then went over to the saddle and pulled out a large black cloth from one of Davis’s back. He stretched it out and Davis saw that it was a cape. He smiled as Andrin draped it over his shoulders, giving a smile as he tied it. Davis smiled back and gave him a peck on the lips, causing Andrin to smile and kiss him back. “Now, I want you to have a safe ride and get back soon.”

“I will. And I will get back as soon as I can.” he then leaned in and gave him a big hug.

Andrin gave Davis another peck on the cheek, holding his love tight and not wanting to let him go. It was only when the stable master said something that made the two boys let go. Davis gave Andrin one more kiss on the lips before he mounted his horse. Andrin gave him a small wave goodbye and though they had shared three kisses already, he wasn’t satisfied. Before Davis rode off, he reached up and pulled him down. Davis freaked out as he almost fell of his horse, but calmed down as he moaned into the kiss. Andrin wanted their last kiss to be more then just a peck on the cheek, and dug his tongue down Davis’s throat. The stable master saw this and just turned away, unable to brake up this embrace this time. Andrin moaned out louder then Davis, playing with his tongue like a cat’s plaything. Davis smiled and ran a hand through Andrin’s fur, trying to out moan him and trying to battle for dominance. Andrin smiled and pulled out of the kiss before Davis could get a better of him, causing the boy on the horse to whimper.

“See you later.” he smiled once again, slapping the horse’s backside to get him going.

Davis held on for dear life as the horse reared up and galloped out of the stable and off towards the village. Andrin heaved a depressing sigh, wishing already that Davis would come back. He stood in the same spot, just in the inside the stable doors, for about thirty minutes. He only left the stable only when Kadin came to get him. As they left, Canon stepped out of the shadows. He had been hiding up in the hayloft, watching the two lovers and not liking what he was seeing. He thought that his king’s love affair was a big joke, but he was wrong. He knew something had to be done about this, and he walked out behind Andrin and Kadin. He had to tell the others about this, knowing that they will agree with him that they have to brake up Andrin and Davis.
