Part Ten
“Let’s stop and get some snacks!” An-chan clapped her hands excitedly.
“Fine.” Big Kitty pulled over and the gang got out to stretch their legs.
They were at a gas station in the middle of nowhere.
Rain sighed as she stepped into the small convenience store. She walked to the back and pulled out her cell phone, moving her dark blue sunglasses to the top of her head. She dialled a number and waited.
“Hello?”
“Hey, Kimberly, how are you holding up?”
“Oh, I’m fine. It’s a little lonely but other than that, I’m alright.”
“Good to hear.”
“How is your trip?”
“The sights are beautiful.” She rolled her eyes. “I’ll show you the pictures when I get back.”
The girl giggled. “I’ll be waiting.”
“Yeah. I gotta go now, I’ll call you again soon.”
“Okay, goodbye and be safe.”
“I will. Bye.”
Rain hung up. A wide grin broke out on her face. ‘If only the Kitty-Cat knew that I had his daughter...maybe I’ll tell him after this trip. I wonder what lengths he would go to.’ Anticipation curled in her stomach at the thought.
“AHHHHHHHH!!!” The gang rushed to where An-chan was.
The snacks from the vending machine she was at were chasing her. She ran towards them and they ran to the car. They all jumped inside and drove off.
An-chan hugged CrimsonMoon’s arm and buried her head into his sleeve. “So scary!”
He patted her head and sighed. “Why is it that stuff always happens to us when we stop?”

Watch out for evil vending machines, kids! :D
