Repercussion
I sat there until the sun rose, I felt myself change to that angelic thing I saw in the mirror only the day before this. A wanderer straggled towards me, I stood sheathing the blade. I seemed closer to the ground now, and liked it that way.
"Hey man, did you see that last night?" the being said to me, I looked at him not in confusion but in need of enlightenment.
"What?" I asked, not breaking eye contact.
"Did you see the light last night? It was huge, that's what took everything out. Even the sewers are blocked all the way down for about 30 miles." He said turning around and pointing. I shook my wings as I felt a rain drop, I looked up. I could hear the praising song, of the Angels. His eyes widened.
"Did you do that last night? They said it was a monster but you don't look a day older than ten." he said, stepping back from me.
"Yes, it was a monster." I said without looking back down at him.
"What's up there?" He asked looking up with me.
"Why didn't you die?" I asked him.
"Well, actually I don't know but there's a couple of us that survived. We was just watching the news and all of a sudden there was a white light and we came here."
"We?" I said looking back down at him.
"Yea you know, other people."
"Other. . .people?" I said looking back down, he was shaking his head. He seemed to be watching me intently.
"What?" he asked gingerly.
"You want all the noise back don't you?" I asked him, not waiting for an answer. I picked up a rock and crushed it in my hand, sand poured out and flowed to the ground. In place of the sand a flower grew.
"Yea, why where'd you take it?"
"Why aren't you afraid? The other one stunk of fear, so did the others. And what are those flying things that were going that way and this?" I asked pointing in both directions. It took him a moment to answer.
"Cars?" he said questionably, I didn't answer. I placed my hand on the ground, and closed my eyes. I could hear all the noise in my head. Suddenly I felt the ground shift, I stood and opened my eyes. I grabbed the mans head and lifted of the ground, my wings flapping violently. We watched everything come back to as it was, except it was now a time during the day. The man in the alley got up and ran and everything remained the same, except people watched me.
