Dragon Healer

when i woke up, the sun was already up, and i saw the back part of the cave had been sealed off, that was core's doing. i walked in to see bane, awake and alert, in boxers on a chair. i would ask core about that. he saw me walk in and did nothing to make himself decent, he looked like he was still a little drunk, i didn't give him that much to drink...jeez, well, not as much drunk as hungover, now that i look, i decided to whisper this morning. "good morning bane! are you feeling better?" i moved him to the side to see if he had picked on his stiches, he hadn't. he looked both ways, looking for someone...oh. "jess left, core kissed me...and he smelled core on me when he got back. he's not gone forever i hope, but he said that he would be back in a few days. he just needs his space right now. you do know he doesn't like vampires." bane nodded his head groggily. and relaxed a bit. i walked past him to get to some supplies..."BANE!" he had grabbed my butt as i walked by, without thinking it though, i turned around and popped him right on the jaw, i heard my wrist pop as i hit him. it left a big red hand-print, and i heard the noise it made when it connected. i was suprized when he didn't spit out a tooth, he did spit a little blood though. "damn......" i clenched my fists, "damn is right! if you weren't hurt right now i would kill you! push your luck agian and see what happens! i don't care if you're a golden queen! hands off!" he chuckled, "my, a bit defensive are we?" this caught me. he winked, "you're cute when your mad..." i sneered at him, "well you're cute when your being stupid, so you're always cute." he didn't get it. he just leaned forward and fell out of the chair, face-first. i bent down and picked him up around the waist, i could see that he had a genuine hangover, but he wasn't drunk. i set him in his bed, and covered him up, so i could go and fix breakfast. he called over my shoulder. "feed me woman!" and i threw what was left of the goat at him. i had leftover catfish, and some tender blackberries i had chanced across. i would clean his sheets after i went out in search of some lemongrass for tea today. bane walked out of his room and brushed himself off not soon after i had finished eating, he seemed to have regained his senses. he leaned on the wall as he walked. "bane, you need support...here..." i grabbed his arm and guided him to a chair, then walked to my room to get my walking stick. i walked back with it to see bane trying to stand up. "here." i handed him the sturdy bamboo walking stick, and he leaned heavily on it, but he could get up, with a little effort. "bane, i'm going to need you to stay here, and recover, sleep if you can, and eat all you want, we're leaving tonight for you're mom's kingdom. core says he'll help us on our way." he muttered under his breath "naturally..." i ignored him. and continued, "and we'll have to pack this afternoon, i'll be back by then." he looked at me sadly, "my stitches hurt." i felt so bad for him..."poor baby..." i walked to him and gave him a sweet hug. "i'm sorry i can't do much about it right now." he returned the hug, and sighed, and i rubbed his back for a while. after i had pulled away. i set him up a chair by the cave's entrance and gave him a blanket and a pillow, I stocked up a jar of jerky, and filled a jug of water to set by his feet. he smiled "green?" green? what's that abou... "where are they?" i gave him my death look. he kind of shrank back into the chair. "they were there when I woke up!...i..." I didn't wait for the rest of that. I stomped to his room, and saw them, sitting on the dresser, I hadn't even seen them there. my panties. my little green panties. when core woke up, he had better have a great excuse. i picked them up, and a piece of paper fell out...I bent retrieve it, and I saw a crude drawing of a chibi-core, with his hand holding down an eyelid, and sticking out his tongue through two little fangs. how cute. and...disturbing. I tucked the panties in my pocket, and went to present the drawing to bane. "did you see this?" i waved the drawing. he blushed a bit, and nodded. I just shook my head. "well I’m going. just sit tight, and if anyone asks where I am, tell them I’m looking for blackberries." and with that, I left. I walked to a nice stand of oaks nearby the waterfall, and started browsing the few scattered blackberry bushes, i picked what I would eat in a few days, and I had to leave some for the native critters. like that dork-fish. maybe I’ll visit her later... I passed the time pleasantly letting my mind wander, and finished early. done collecting sweet snacks, I walked back to the beaten path to gather some lemon grass. there was a big patch of it not too far from the cave, so I took my time getting there. after a while walking, (and some snacking on the blackberries), I came close enough to see the patch of pale, sharp bladed grass, in the middle of the bunch, I saw Rawst sunbathing in his human form, arms crossed behind his head, he was wearing the same armor as before, and i spotted Emralc and Chunk in dragon form not too far off, grazing on some mint plants. I walked up closer, and i could smell the lemony scent from the crushed leaves, I picked some tender shoots from around him, and he opened a eye lazily and transformed to his massive dragon form, covering the whole patch of lemon grass, then closed it again. I shook my head, and waved at Emralc and Chunk, they looked up to regard me, and tipped their heads in greeting before turning back to the mint they were eating.

I walked around Rawst to get back to the path home, and he called after me, "forgetting something little sister?" he reached under his great scaly back and expertly pulled out a perfect measure of lemon grass, which he then offered to me, I reached and took it from his claws, "thanks 'bro', " he just chuckled and stretched out his wings, resuming his basking. I smiled as I walked back to the cave. I need to get bane a bath before we leave, I could help him to

the waterfall, and I picked out extra blackberries for the dork-fish when he was done. I’d also bring a bathing suit for him and for me, but he may not cooperate. I’d probably have to carry him, since he was slow, but that's okay. I didn't want to travel with him smelling like goat, and core smelling like death. maybe we could all wait for sunset, and wash up. core could carry him, and I could carry all the towels, bathing suits, and robes. worth a shot, I’ll see what they have to say about it.

i walked up to the cave in no time. only to see bane in dragon form, growling at a red dragon, a female. she turned into a tall leggy blonde, and rushed at me. bane freaked out, and transformed to human form, but he just held his stitches, and fell to the ground, i opened my arms and welcomed her flying glomp. "Ruby! I've missed you so much!" she didn't knock me down like she used to, she wasn’t going easy though, I had just gotten stronger. she was the red I had treated for two years before she had left. she looked hot, when we had talked last, she was prude, and dressed in concealing, comfortable clothes. this time, she had her long, thick, blonde hair go free, she wore a tiny halter top barely restraining her chest, and a mini skirt showing her long pretty legs. she flashed her brown eyes at me, "so who does he belong to huh?" and I looked over at bane, still grimacing at his stitches. "Bane, relax, this is Ruby, a patient of mine." Ruby giggled and waved at him, but he just looked sour. "lily, would you help me up?" I was pleasantly surprised he didn't drool over Ruby, a pretty female dragon. she was a red true, but still. I walked over and helped him up, Ruby was obviously not amused at the lack of attention. so she bounded over to see what she could do. I grabbed his arm and threw it over my shoulder, and helped him walk back to his chair. “So Ruby, what brings you here?” she smiled and bounced on her heels, “oh lily! I’ve become a healer just like you, and I heard that you needed a stand-in. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you, but when my mother told me that she had found a good dragonic healer for me to train under, I had to leave. I mean...” she sighed. “I didn’t want to be a big burden.” that explains a lot. “Well I’ve missed you. If you want to stand in, I’m sure that Emralc can arrange a temporary home for you. In fact, I know where she is right now, and we can walk over and talk to her. Bane? Would you like to come?” bane grabbed his walking stick, but I took it from him. “No way, I’m carrying you, you still need time to heal. And I know you’ve been stuck here too long. He looked at Ruby, and nodded his head. He opened his arms like a hatchling that wants to be held, and I picked him up and slung him across my back. Ruby elbowed me, and I led her to the path after setting down my berries and lemon grass. This should take a load off my mind, at the very least. And still plenty of time to talk with Ruby before we would set off for the black tooth kingdom. Who knows, maybe this would be easier than it sounds. Maybe we’ll get lucky and everything will fall into place. But what happens then? I could never know.

so now, you've met ruby, and sorry about my grammar, I need to buy new software, i'm just useing wordpad now, and I'm submitting my work in chapters so I don't have one huge page that takke three hours to read. ^_^;
