Isbella and Antille
Blood rushes through Isabella's head as he made a small
groan. She looks at the guard to see whether he saw them.
The guard's eyes were piercing hers with a fierce glare. The
moment froze.
(I have to stop him! Before he calls anyone!)
Before she noticed herself, she threw her Riquelle beaming
toward the guard's head, and like a needle piercing a
cardboard, the Riquelle went right through his skull. With
Antille on her back, Isabella slides down the pole, and pulls
her Riquelle out of his skull. Cleaning the blood off with
her cloth, she gently places it besides her waist.
"We have to hurry now. Let us move.", Isabella calls on
Antille.
After some seconds passed, Antille comes beside her.
Isabella takes his arm to help him walk with.
(Now we really cannot go back...)
As Isabella thinks, Antille opens his mouth and lets his
voice come out.
"How can you kill someone that easily? He might have not
killed us."
Isabella paused.
(We cannot count on those risks anymore. That is the path
that we chose, and we cannot go back now.)
"We didn't have to choose this path.", Antille talks in a
gentle voice.
"We cannot turn back now.", Isabella replied to him.
Antille then asks, "Why did we have to choose this path?"
(Now I am going on a journey. A long journey that may have
no end. That is the path I chose. It all started when I
tried to kill him.. I chose it because...because...)
"Because I want you to live, Antille. I want to save you."
Those were the words that Isabella was able to let out from
her mouth. Though still confused, Antille decided to reply
to those words simply by saying:
"Thank you."
Isabella smiled for an instant, until one of the townsmen
screamed. When Isabella and Antille looked back, the
townsman was stumbling away from the dead guard that was just
killed.
"We can't stay here, let's get moving."
As Isabella says those words, she and Antille quietly, but
swiftly disappears into the dark woods.
