Destiny and Dragons

Taron walked idly through the store, glancing at Nina and Ryu as they went about, getting supplies. He felt a little guilty, as they had used all of their supplies on him, and he really had no way of repaying them. He wouldn't even be able to get things that he knew he would need. Weapons, armor, healing items, as well as other basic needs that would arise, he had no way of getting at the moment. He felt rather useless, as he even didn't have a useful skill that would come in handy. Knowledge of the game would be somewhat helpful, but given that the story had changed slightly, he wasn't certain if the rest would change as well or if it would stay the same.

He glanced up, noting that the two were separated, Nina being relatively close to him. 'Time to face the music,' he thought, heading over to her. "Um… about yesterday… I just wanted to apologize. Finding myself here was a bit of a surprise. I wasn't really expecting to wake up and see you… er, here." He glanced down. 'Brilliant. Worried what a fictional character thinks of you. A hot fictional character. You want her, and she wants to kick your butt. Nice one.' He smiled slightly. Not certain what he was expecting to happen, but somehow, this wasn't it.

“I have a question...am I attractive at all? If I showed interest in you..wouldn’t you want to sleep with me?” Nina just started blurting it out. “Because...lately..like the past few days, ever since I met him really, He has been..just..blah..and..always dreaming about this other girl or something. I think I am getting frustrated more than I should because of it.”

"Sleep with me?" Taron asked, not awake that it might seem that he was asking her to rather than questioning her question. "But… I thought you wanted to kick my butt or something." He shuffled his feet slightly. To be honest, he wasn't sure if it was a trick question, and she was just looking for another reason to kick his butt. "But yes, you are attractive." He didn't mention that she didn't have to show interest in him to make him want to sleep with her, as he did that anyways.

“I mean I am a princess..I have a kingdom and he is dreaming about some slave girl that he thinks it is his destiny to be with. It’s infuriating. He even drew a picture of her as a dragon. Honestly..” She sighed and shook her head. “I feel ugly right now.” Nina grunt d inwardly. “I am supposed to be an attractive catch..and he doesn’t even want me!”

"Have… you ever thought that you might be happier without him?" Taron asked. "I mean, that maybe there's nothing between the two of you? And you are not ugly, definitely an attractive catch." A slave as a Dragon? But… wasn't Starfyre acting a bit like Fou-Lu's slave? Could it be? He glanced up, realizing that he had been somewhat flirtatious with the very person that had only last night threatened to do many unpleasant things to him. He didn't want to provoke that side of her again, though he was being honest.

“I have no idea anymore.” Nina sighed. “Anyways..Ryu is getting you some armor and a sword..that way you can help us fight.” She smiled. “Alright?”

Taron nodded, though he wasn't sure that he would actually be able to use a sword without inflicting damage on himself. "I'll repay you whenever I can, I promise." She looked much better when she smiled, and wasn't shoving a scepter in his face. "You… want to go to the inn and talk or something? Maybe get something to eat? Ryu seems quite happy to be by himself for the moment."

“Sure..” She shrugged. “I could use a little to eat..I know of a coffee shop near by.” Nina waved to Ryu. “Bye..” She said as she started leading the way. “Come on, Taron.”

Taron followed, waving to Ryu as well. It was better than the pounding he was expecting, and he wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth. 'Okay, do you realize what you are doing?' he asked himself. 'Flirting, maybe more if I'm lucky,' came the answer. 'Assuming that you do get lucky, what happens if you find your way back to your world?' He blinked at the thought. 'Well, that's something that I will have to face when it comes, but in the meantime, I'm going to make Nina feel better about herself. Ryu refusing her? Seriously, what was he thinking?'

“You’re awfully quiet..anyways..tell me more about you. I mean I have never met anyone who thought they were in a game before. So? Tell me why?” Nina glanced back. “If you want to that is.”

"Well, I was quiet as I was thinking, and I'm sort of quiet to begin with, sometimes. Others, well, as you say yesterday, I say too much." Taron shrugged slightly, following. "I think this is a game because it is, at least where I come from. I could tell you everything that happens. At least, I could have, as I don't know if that is still the case, since some things have obviously changed. I don't know if the rest will change as well, or if there will only be slight changes to the storyline."

“But that is silly because this world is real...we are real. This isn’t a game or a story.” She turned and stopped right in front of him. Her hands touched his chest. “Feel? See? Smell?” She leaned up and touched her lips to his cheek. “Real..not a story..” Nina pulled away slightly. “So..if where are from..I mean..if this is a game then..you are a game to us and I wouldn’t think that...not ever.”

Taron exhaled sharply at her touch. Oh, she was real alright, as really as the sudden swelling happening in his pants. "That's why I acted like I did yesterday, because I thought it was a game," he said, hoping she didn't notice. Well, at least not pound him if she did. "But now, well, I'm not sure. Whatever happened, this is indeed real, and I am somehow a part of it." He certainly hoped it wasn't a game, since the game wasn't rated 'M', and he was having thoughts that he knew wouldn't be in the game.

“This is your world now.” Nina drew her fingers across his cheek and touched softly. “You know what..you haven’t been able to bathe..come with me. I know where the INN is and you can use their bathing tub. You will feel much better. It’s a public bathing pool so..I’ll probably join you.”

"Um.. together?" Taron asked. Definitely not in the game's programming. While a bath did sound good, especially a cold shower, and he had perhaps dreamed of at least a thousand other similar scenarios, he was a little bit nervous at the moment. She would certainly notice then, and while she didn't seem to bothered at the moment, she wasn't aware of what he was thinking. That might change things. Well, it would, but which way would it change it?

“Yes together.” She laughed and ran ahead. “Hurry up!” Nina knew Ryu would still be at the shops..she had time. “Last one there is a rotten herb.”

'To hell with questioning things,' Taron thought, chasing after Nina. "That's unfair, cheating like that," he said, laughing lightly, close on her heels. She might be right and this was his world now. Would be much better if he actually lived and enjoyed it instead of questioning it.

Fou-Lu’s Temple

“Master..” Starfyre gasped under her breath. That bad feeling from before swept over her even worse. “Master...” She stood quickly and started for the door. Her hand was upon her stomach. “I’m coming.”Glancing at Won-Qu. “And don’t you stand in my way..he is in trouble. He needs me!” She said as she rushed past.

Won-Qu shook his head, taking off after her. He knew that His Lord was capable of taking care of things himself, and he had specific orders to guard the human. Of course, there were no limitations on where that was to occur. If she went, fine, but he was going along with her. "Do you intend to just walk the entire way?" he asked.

“If I must.” She walked hurriedly towards the exit. “And you can choose to believe me or not..but he is in trouble..Look! The smoke.” She ran up the stairs to the top of the temple. “That mage...he knows master is weak against fire at such an early stage of waking...” Starfyre shook her head. “I have..to..” Grunting, she held her stomach. “Master..he is in..trouble..”

A strange white glow surrounded her. The power could be felt coming from her. Starfyre couldn’t be approached. The power pushed the large wolf back and away from her. The aura was of holy white.

Won-Qu backed away. Humans… were not supposed to be able to do that. How was he supposed to protect what he couldn't get near? It was impossible. He could accompany as best as he could, but that was about it. But go near? That wasn't going to happen.

“N..no!” Starfyre closed her eyes. The moonlight shone down on her all of the sudden and surrounded her in it’s beam. “Master..”

Her form started rising. Starfyre’s hair grew even whiter with a blueish glow. Her hands started to change and the fingers grew longer. Talons started to form where finger nails once were. Her feet started to do the same. Talons ripped through shoes and wings of feathers and white dragon skin started to unfurl from her back.

"Aroo?" Won-Qu gasped, raising a brow. What sorcery was this? This… shouldn't be happening. Had His Lord changed her as well? He backed up away from her, keeping a watchful eye on her. He hoped this was meant to happen, as there was no way that he could protect her from it, and he had no desire to fail His Lord.

“N..nghhh!!” Screaming. She shot up in a burst of light.

He saw the moon light clear and a half dragon type human lowered to the ground. A long, beautiful white dragon scaled tail swayed behind her. Eyes of pure radiant blue opened. Blue, celtic like tattoos angles down from her cheeks and her arms. She had on a white scaled loin cloth and half top as well.

“Master is in trouble..go to the smoke..” Starfyre said before rising into the air. “He will go to the water.” Her form faded into the light.

The large form of an holy aura dragon filled the sky. She was flying to him to help. Starfyre’s heart was purely loyal to Fou-Lu alone.

Was she ordering him? He blinked, taking off after her. He only took orders from one person, and that one wasn't here at the moment. But, given her direction, he would be going there anyways.

“You are weak emperor.” The sinister looking creature, once the mage, stood before the dragon god. “I shall make your death come swiftly.” He said as he extended his hand.

“Thou art foolish, mortal.”Fou-Lu held his side. “To attack us..a god?” He would never back down. Not even as fire consumed the woods around them. “You will die.”

“Not today.” The mage smirked before releasing another wave of fire towards the weakened emperor. “The Imperial capitol has other plans.”

“No!” The voice rang from above.

Fou-Lu jumped to the side but gasped when white surrounded him to protect him from the flames. He looked in front of him and blinked. Starfyre’s half dragoness form hovered before the shocked mage.

“My master will not die..it is you who shall suffer his wrath.” Starfyre stared the mage in the eyes. “Leave and die later or die right now..it is your choice.”

The light around Fou-Lu acted as a protection and a healing breath. It refreshed his strength and he stood with a sigh of relief at the feeling. But also a sound of intrigue. Starfyre was a dragon? How was this possible?

Won-Qu glanced at Fou-Lu as if to say 'I haven't a clue.' He turned to the Mage, heckles raised, growling. One word from His Lord and he would spring into action, serving his Lord as always. "You dare attack my Lord? Death shall be your punishment."

“We would know thy name, oh cunning one.” Fou-lu chuckled casually.

“Two dragons?! There is only one mentioned in legend! The dragon who brings doom! This dragon is of..” He paused and suddenly gasped. The mage’s face turned ghostly white. “Holy aura..” Turning, he started to run. Holy was his weakness.

“Master?” Starfyre turned. “Tis your right to choose his fate..” he was healed. She wasn’t worried now.”Not mine.”

"I advise torture, My Lord," Won-Qu said. "Learn all we can from him, and then make him a message to those that would oppose you."

“We must regain our full strength. We must find our other self before we can fight at our strongest.” Fou-Lu stepped forward and cupped Starfyre’s chin with his hand. “And we must learn of our Starfyre. Learn of..this..” He was completely aroused at t he moment. “Most intriguing change.”Yurning slightly. “Won-qu! Go forth and keep an eye on the foolish mortal for now. I shall call thee for a report soon.”

Starfyre looked up at her master. His hand held her chin delicately. She felt a slight trembling urge coming from him. Fou-Lu was holding back the urge to pull her into his arms and take her. She could tell this much.

"Aye, My Lord," Won-Qu answered, turning back to the mage, snapping his teeth. He wouldn’t hurt the mortal without a direct order, though the mage didn't know that. His Lord might be gone for some time, too, given the look he held. Plenty of time to toy with the mortal, and let him question the wisdom in trying to defeat His Lord.

“Master..”Starfyre started to speak but his finger against her lips stopped her.

“We think our child has something to do with this.” Fou-Lu pulled her into his grasp.

The two were already fading from view. Just a few more days and his full strength could be reached. Just a few more days and then he would travel to the capitol and teach this mage a lesson of four.

“N..no!” The mage held a fearful glint in his eyes as he ran from the temple. He had to report this to his superior.

Won-Qu smiled. Nothing excited him like the chase. He waited momentarily, then gave chase, running after him and tripping him up, allowing him to get up and running again. Toying with his prey. "And where do you think that you are going?" he asked.

A fire spell escaped him. Hands flew forward and he attacked the wolf to get a clear path. The mage ran further and stopped where guards of the imperial palace awaited him. He smirked and turned.

“This is where we part..” The embers glowing brighter around him. “Your master was lucky..but next time he shall not be so.”

Won-Qu growled, watching. His Lord would be quite upset with him. "You are the lucky one, having escaped this time. Next time, you shall not be as lucky."
