Chapter 6: Some Fluff at the Beach and Joshua’s Home Sweet Home

Title: The Course of True Love Never Did Run Smoothly

Summary: Meet Joshua, the perfect angel. Literally. He’s in love with his best friend. But, she only has eyes for Derek, the new student. And Derek, only has eyes for the little angel. A love story between an Angel and a Demon. (Warnings by Chapter)

Disclaimer: All of the characters in this chapter belong to me and my friend, any resemblance to any real people, places, or happenings are by chance. So don’t sue me so I can keep writing.

Cautions: Nothing to worry about in this chapter except for a lot, and I mean a *lot* of fluff. Very sweetness. Oh, well Joshua does get molested by Derek, but its safe other then that.

Authors Notes: During this chapter, Courtney and I had a huge problem. Should we kill off Amber? She was one of those people we added in the story to soon kill off. But… Well, we needed her for other conflicts to make the story more interesting. It was a very hard decision.

Chapter 6: Some Fluff at the Beach and Joshua’s Home Sweet Home

Derek looked at Joshua in shock. A kiss...the kiss! A flood of memories rushed back as Derek remembered what had happened. He was a bit dizzy from the sudden remembrance of all his memories, but he hid it with a smile. "Heh. Thanks. Never knew I'd get kissed by you considering I'm the one who always starts it.”

Joshua cocked his head to the side, confused. "Huh?"

Derek smiled. "Usually, I do this." He leaned forward and pecked Joshua on the lips quit suddenly. "But you just kissed me. That takes a lot of courage."

Joshua sighed. "Then...you remember me?" he asked softly in a small timid voice.

Derek nodded. "How could I not remember you after that kiss?" He murmured with a smirk.

Joshua blushed and hugged Derek tightly, more tears coming to his eyes. "Thank you...Thank you so much...for remembering me..." He murmured.

Derek looked at Joshua in shock and a bit of surprise. "It's not like I didn't remember you for that long...It was only a few hours..."

Joshua looked up at him, a warm small smile on his lips. "You'd be surprised how long it felt to me...."

Derek placed another light kiss on Joshua's lips. "I'm sorry. It's not like I meant to do it on purpose..."

“I know it wasn't on purpose...I'm sorry I got upset...and cried like a baby..." He nuzzled Derek gently. "It was only because I didn't want to lose you. Because...I love you..." he murmured softly.

Derek ran his fingers through Joshua's hair. "The waves are so pretty...Don't you think?"

"Yeah...but...I think you are far more handsome...than the...sea will ever be..." He spoke slowly, never having been that good at calling someone sexy.

Derek smiled as he looked down at the other boy. "Really now? Thank you for the complement but you know what?" He murmured, trying to make the other boy look at him.

Joshua looked up into his eyes, his eyes shimmering, the day slowly coming to an end. "What?" he asked softly.

Derek smiled once more as he leaned down and gently placed his lips on Joshua’s.

Joshua kissed him back, but only for a moment before he took his lips back off his. "What were you going to say?" he asked gently.

Derek looked back at the sea for a few seconds before turning his head back to look at his new boyfriend. "You’re the most beautiful being on this entire planet." He murmured gently.

Joshua blushed and kissed Derek lightly, his cheeks warm. He breathed in Derek's scent, quite fond of it now. He wrapped his arms around his waist and pulled himself closer to him.

Derek smiled as he gently pulled the boy so that he was now sitting on his lap. "Comfy?" He asked with a smirk.

Joshua smiled with his eyes closed and nodded, getting snuggly in his lap.

Derek moved a bit to make himself comfortable, Joshua still in his lap. Hmm...Let Joshua be all innocent...or molest him just a bit...They were boyfriends now after all...

Joshua put his head up. "Derek?" he asked gently, his gray hair ruffled into what we girls would immediately label a "make out hair".

Not able to help himself, the site was too tempting! Derek leaned down and kissed Joshua in an innocent kiss. However, the kiss became not so innocent when he licked the others mouth, immediately questioning for entrance.

Joshua blushed lightly and smiled in the kiss, his tongue accidentally brushing against Derek's. He blushed even more; afraid he had done something wrong.

Derek smirked at the cute boy. His tongue began to gently rub against Joshua's, trying to tell Joshua it was actually ok for him to do what he had done. He loved how the boy continued to blush.

Joshua smiled, understanding that what he had done was "okay". He sucked Derek's tongue gently, his eyes closed lightly.

Derek moaned gently into the kiss. Joshua had no idea what he was doing to him. Holding Joshua with his right hand, he used his other hand to gently move its way onto Joshua's inner thigh. Hey, a man has his needs!

Joshua didn't seem to notice this, still very new to frenching someone and seeing what was allowed and what wasn't. He explored Derek's mouth, kissing him with more passion after a few moments.

Derek smirked into the kiss as the same once innocent hand, deleveled further in, rubbing against a very sensitive something.

Joshua didn't notice until he felt himself becoming aroused. He pulled his lips off of Derek's and looked down. "What...Wh-wh-what are you d-d-d-doing?" he asked in a meek scared tone.

Derek shushed Joshua with comforting words as he gently nibbled below his ear, his hand continuing to rub the growing spot in his pants. "Nothing really..." He replied calmly. “No need to be scared.”

Joshua shivered slightly. "Derek? You're still you...right? You didn't turn into Yoru?" he asked innocently, afraid that Yoru had come out and was trying to "hurt" him again.

After a small irritated sigh, Derek nodded. "Yea, I’m fine. It's me..." Derek murmured as his hand reached for the flier of the others pants.

Joshua remained silent, staring into Derek's eyes. "Wait!" he burst out. "Umm...why don't we...go back to my apartment?" he suggested. "Cause...we're...in public..." he murmured in a small voice.

Derek continued to nibble on Joshua’s ear, his hand halting for a few moments. "Mmm...And what's wrong with doing it here?"

Joshua blushed lightly. "Well...urm...wouldn't you rather be more comfortable on something softer than this bench? Like a bed?" He regretted these words as soon as they left his lips.

Derek raised an eyebrow. "A bed? So soon?” He looked to the sky and thought it over for a few minutes. “Alright. Fine with me." Derek murmured with a lusty smirk. Despite how he normally was, he never passed up a chance for sex. But then again, molesting Joshua in public…

Joshua gulped. "Yeah...." He slowly climbed out of Derek's lap, reaching out a hand for his significant other.

Derek thought about it, sex on a bed would be nice but…, and as he grasped Joshua's hand he pulled towards himself so that Joshua fell and ever so nicely straddled him.

Joshua stared at him wide-eyed, not sure really what he was doing. "Erm..." He had never done anything close to this, learning something new from Derek every minute.

Derek leaned in and gently kissed Joshua, his hand sneakily groping its way behind Joshua to grab his ass. Oh yea, molesting Joshua was better the sex for now…

Joshua kissed him back gently, his eyes still wide open. This was something totally new to him as well. He closed his eyes slowly, figuring he might as well get used to it. He kissed him back passionately.

A ditzy blue-haired girl walked out of the school, a soda in her hand. "Where'd Derek go?" she thought. She walked out toward the beach when she thought she saw someone familiar. She walked over to the two making out on the beach. "Joshie?!?! Derek?!?!?"

Derek opened his eyes and looked up as Amber stood right in front of them. "Long time no see Amber." He replied calmly. Eh, she wasn’t important to him anymore.

"How could you?! I thought you liked ME?!?" she screamed, feeling light-headed. Joshie, of all people, was making out with HER man. Or that's what she thought of him anyway.

Joshua looked up and jumped slightly as he saw her. "Amber? I...I can explain...." he mumbled, Derek's hand still on his ass.

"You're not explaining anything! I'm never talking to you again, Joshie! I HATE YOU!" she screamed, slapping him across the face and then stomping off.

"Oh no she did not just slap you." He murmured dangerously as he stood up, lightly placing Joshua on the bench as he glared a very scary death glare at the female’s back.

Joshua grabbed Derek's hand, stopping him. "No...Derek. Just let her go...I don't care if she hit me..." he murmured.

Derek shook his head. "No. Anyone that messes with you deserves to be killed. I have no problem killing her." He murmured darkly.

"You...You're going to kill her?" he asked, wide-eyed. Joshua didn't know what else to say. He loved Derek, but Amber had been his best friend since the fourth grade.

"Of course. Why wouldn't I kill her? She did hit you." He asked calmly as if he was just going to go to a store and buy a plushy.

Joshua released his hand, knowing that he would not be able to change Derek's mind.

Derek sighed as he sat down next to Joshua. "I know she's been your friend for a while...do you want me to kill her? I'm giving you this one chance..." He murmured while cupping Joshua’s face. As soon as Joshua said the words, he would either kill her instantly, or cease his chasing after her to kill her.

Joshua looked down and thought for a moment. Then he looked back up, his mind completely made. "No. Let her live. We'll deal with her later....thank you..." he murmured before kissing him gently, on all fours on the bench.

Derek sighed as he kissed Joshua back, not even noticing the sun going down. "I'll let her live...but only because you want her to live..."

He smiled. "Thank you for doing that for me...” he sat on the bench next to him, leaning his head on Derek’s shoulder and gazing into the sunset…"Derek?"

Derek looked down as the other boy called him. "Yes?"

Joshua smiled and kissed him lightly. "I love you..." he murmured softly, looking back out at the sunset and snuggling in his arms.

Derek looked smiled down at the boy. "I..." He sighed and shook his head. Saying those words would allow Yoru to take control...something he didn't want. Besides, it also mad ehim look weak. "I know..."

Joshua snuggled up against him, closing his eyes as his cheek rested against him. He shivered slightly, Derek feeling very warm to him.

~*~ A few hours later… ~*~

As the sun went down behind the waves, Derek gently poked Joshua on the side, hoping the other didn't fall asleep on him.

Joshua lifted his head, a sleepy expression on his face. "Huh?" he said, looking around. He looked up at Derek. "Hi..."

Derek smiled down at the once sleeping boy, standing up, quite shakily, his leg was asleep! He picked Joshua up bridal style. "It's getting late. Tell me where you live and I'll drop you off there."

Joshua looked around, dazed. "I live...I live...." He pointed south, to the right of them. "Two doors down from the school..." he murmured.

Derek nodded as he walked off towards the school, Joshua still in his arms being carried bridal style.

Joshua made a noise, closing his eyes and resting his forehead on Derek’s shoulder. He felt warm and safe in his arms…

~*~ A few minutes later… ~*~

Walking down the road, he arrived at what he believed was Joshua’s house. "Is this it?" He questioned while looking at the house in surprise.

Joshua slid down, looking up at the house sleepily. "Yep." he walked up to the door. "You wanna come upstairs?" he asked Derek gently.

Derek nodded. "Sure." He nodded as he walked into the house after Joshua. He only had one word to say really. “…Wow.”

Joshua shut the door behind him and led the way up the stairs to his apartment. He unlocked the door, opening it to reveal a calm room. There was a small stove and fridge in the far left corner, a wash and dryer next to it with a little circular wooden table with two chairs. There was a vase of yellow daffodils on the table and a lacy white tablecloth. There were two screens set up as walls in the room, one blocking a low bed with a straw mat underneath it. The other hid a small toilet and a small bath. The room had the sweet smell of vanilla wafting through it, a window above the kitchen's sink and next to the bed.
"Here we are..." Joshua said, inviting Derek in.

Derek entered the small place and looked around. Everything seemed...miniature...for some reason…

Joshua watched him. "Umm...something wrong?" he asked gently.

"Not at all...It just seems like one of those motherly homes..." He murmured as he continued to eye everything. Did he even fit in the bathroom?

Joshua blushed lightly. "Ummm...Would you like me to make you something?" he asked gently, gesturing toward the kitchen area.

Derek shook his head. "No...It's alright. I'm good." He said with a small smile. Did a couch even fit in his apartment?

He smiled and went over and sat at the table, watching Derek look around curiously. "I'm sorry. It's a bit cramped in here..." he murmured.

"No...It's alright. It is a bit small though but that's alright." He replied as he leaned against a wall. "How much is the rent here?"

"450 a month..." He mumbled. "All I can afford..." he muttered, looking down. He had just saved up enough to buy the washer and dryer, happy to not have to hang his clothes on a line, anymore.

Derek nodded as he reached into his pocket to grab his wallet. "Well, I need to get going back home or else I'll be too tired to go to school tomorrow." Grabbing the correct amount of money, he went over and kissed Joshua, placing the money secretly on the table.

Joshua kissed him back lightly, not seeing the money. "Okay...I'll see you tomorrow?" He asked, holding Derek's hand with both of his own.

Derek winked. "Of course I'll see you tomorrow. I'll see you bright and early!" With a small smile, Derek let himself out of the apartment.

Joshua smiled and watched him out. His hand accidentally slid over the money. "What's this?" he picked it up, wide-eyed. "Where'd this come from?"

Derek smiled as he left the apartment housing and walked over to where his motorcycle was nicely kept. He had left 1,000$ and a small note.
"This should be enough for two months of rent.
Don't be afraid to buy yourself something nice.
- Derek "

Joshua read the note. "But...He didn't have to...urg..." He rested his head on the tabletop, not realizing that he would fall asleep as soon as he did. It had surely been a tiring day.

As Derek entered his household, he went straight to bed, his mind replaying the days events. He didn’t expect to be able to sleep nicely, despite the good memories he had made that day, his dreams refused to allow him to sleep well…
