The Door
The Door
I tried the door
It would open not
I try again
But I am caught
Through the window
A face peeks out
His nose is large
His cheeks are stout
He tried the door
To fling it wide
It does not open
He stays outside
I stare at him
I see his eyes
They film over
And then he cries
Let me out
Come my screams
It’s been too long
Forever it seems
They locked me here
Within the deep
To sit and think
In my dark keep
I sit to think
To think of why
They threw me here
Kept from the sky
I was bad
Maybe that was it
Just a girl
I threw a fit
I thought it normal
To scream and shout
To get what I want
It’s me it’s about
But I was wrong
So dearly I was
Now I am here
And why is because
I tried the door
