Chapter 6
Alright, I think this is probably the most carefree ch. I have ever considered writing for this fic. I hope you all enjoy. THANKS to Kaji11 for being the first reviewer of the repost! Everyone else I profusedly apoligize for my delay in updating and screwing it up when I did. live and learn i say!
“Ha ha! Sure Caleb. You are the dating guru. I bow to your expertise.” I cried tears of laughter streaming down my face. I had a rum and raisin cone clutched tightly in my fist.
“What are you laughing about you ungrateful wretch?” He sounded miffed.
“Oohh! Big words....I’m scared now.” Ah it felt good to laugh so hard that my sides hurt again. Caleb slung his arm around my shoulders and pulled me close.
“Oh baby, you don’t have to be afraid. I got you.” he crooned dripping gigolo sexy. I spewed ice-cream everywhere in a fit.
“Hahahaha! Oh god, please stop. I can’t take it. Hahaha!!” I distantly realized I had dropped my cone to grab my cramping sides.
“Haha!Yeah, you’re right. My moves may not be all that but what I lack I make up for in denial.” Caleb gave me a one armed hug before releasing me to chuckle quietly. We had this long standing joke that the song by The Offspring, ‘Pretty Fly for a White Guy’, was all about him. I wound down slowly as the car came into sight. My drunken weaving and madly spiked hair was probably the cause of all the concerned looks I was getting.
“Ohh, Caleb, you crack me up. So what are we doing to night?” I gasped out of breath. I got in the car and fastened in. Caleb got in on his side without really looking at me.
“Anything you want to do, studmeister. I’m all yours for the night. That is more than most people get so you better be kissing my feet as you apply a good foot massage tonight.” He winked lasciviously, his tongue sticking out at me as we jerked forward. Grabbing onto the door handle to stabilize myself, cause I know how erratic my brother drives, I turned up the music.
“You so wish. You’ll be lucky if you don’t find the crotch of all your pants mysteriously missing!” It wasn’t an idle threat either. Let’s just say when I was younger I had an affinity for scissors so he was very justified in paling.
“No you wouldn’t...” He whispered barely audible over the music. I didn’t bother with a response, let him stew. I was flying as high as a kite. Three weeks ago I would never have thought this was possible no matter how much Dr. Andrews told me it was. We both fell silent and let the music carry us. I glanced over after a while to see a dreamy look on his face. I wondered what he was thinking. I mean it really wasn’t fair that everyone in my family including Courtenay knew every thought I had and every move I make. Caleb had always been the funny, strong, good looking one in the family. He never had the issues I had. From middle school he claimed the title of hottest guy in school and never released it until he graduated. I’m sure he never had the dark twisted sick thoughts that I harbored for Him. I have told the family what happened to provoke my episode just not who. Everyone except my mom assumed it was a girl since I hadn’t started dating yet. I think Victor must have said something to her and she made the connection that it was a guy. She hasn’t said anything and she is so sweetly accepting. It is more than I would ever have dreamed of. We still haven’t talked about it and I personally don’t want to rock the boat. I sometimes feel like I should tell Caleb at least what’s really going on so he stops trying to set me up with random girls in the hope of making me feel better. I think the only reason I haven’t told him who it is is because I fear his rejection.
Before I knew it we were home. Mom was in the kitchen working on some bills and Courtenay was in the den watching Soaps with a guy friend. Now I know I don’t’ know much about dating but when a guy stoops so low as to watching soaps to get a girl you know he has no morals. I mean I’m gay and even I don’t watch soaps. Caleb not paying attention crashed into me in the door way.
“What’s the— oohh!” Caleb’s eyebrows rose diabolically. “A big brother’s work is never done I tell you.” With a light squeeze of my shoulder he entered the den to torment the unsuspecting couple. “Courtenay my love who’s the hottie?”
Oh gosh! I wasn’t the one being humiliated and I was still cringing in the doorway. I felt so bad for Courtenay...but I have to say her red face was pretty funny.
“CALEB! GET OUT!” She screeched jumping up from the couch. She rushed Caleb in a futile attempt to shove him out of the room.
“NayNay don’t be like that. I am just being complementary.” Caleb dodged her charge and leaped onto the couch beside the unknown guy. “Sooo buddy boy tell us a bit about yourself. What are your intentions towards our fair sister?” He glanced up and winked at me as Courtenay stomped off into the kitchen.
“MOM!! Caleb is being a jerk. Tell him to go away!” We heard her yell. The guy’s face paled and he ducked his head very uncomfortable. I felt really bad for him but like Caleb I was in a playful mood.
“Now Caleb, leave the dear boy alone it’s not very nice to tease.” I said dropping my bag and sashaying on over to join them. I was going for my best imitation of the femme fatale. I flipped my non existent mane as I sat daintily on Caleb’s lap. I felt him jerk and his eyes bug out. Oohh, I got him good. I bet he wasn’t expecting that. I could see his breathing pick up as I leaned in close. My lips barely touched his ear as I breathed huskily, “Especially when it’s not me.” I was bubbling with mirth at my joke. And now for the coup de gras, I nipped his lobe pulling on it sharply.
