Chapter 6 Shawna


“So what time are you bringing her back tomorrow?” Shawna asked while she was packing Tashawna up for a sleepover at her friend, Diana, house. This was her first sleepover and I was getting kind of emotional.
“I promise to have her back by noon. Don’t worry,” Patricia, Diana’s mom, stated while she walked the girls out the door.

Tashawna was almost to the car when she stopped instantly and ran back up to me. “I forgot to give you a kiss mommie,” She said as she pecked me on lips. “Bye,” she ran off to get into the car.

It had been two hours and I had already cleaned the whole house and watched a little TV. I was really running out of things to do real fast. I had rung Ty up earlier, but his phone was off. “Maybe it’s a good thing he ain’t answering.” I knew that all we would end up doing was having sex and then he would have to leave. I was kind of still a little hurt by the conversation I had with Carly earlier in the week. It wasn’t like I really was a stupid bitch or something, I had always had the feeling Ty was fucking around on me.

Ty and I had been together along time and I knew when he was thinking about cheating, except for that one time. We had been through a lot together over the years. I still remember when we first started dating back when it was time for him to go to prom. I couldn’t believe he liked me, I was just a stupid freshman.

He use to come over my house all the time, claiming he needed some peace and quite from his loud sisters, but Sharon told her differently. Both Carly and Sharon thought I was stupid as hell for never noticing the signs and damn were there many. He had scared away so many boys from even looking at me and thinking about looking at me. During lunch he always made sure a sit was saved for me, right by his. The way he would stay after school just so I would have a ride after practice. He even joined the art club, when he couldn’t draw for shit.

The first time he asked me out I actually laughed in his face causing him to get up and go home. After talking with Sharon, I felt bad because I really thought he was just joking around with me because I was so young. I called him that night to apologize.

“Don’t be sorry for me Shawna,” he had said. “I just can’t believe you laughed at me. I like you and you just laugh like I ain’t shit.” That’s when it finally clicked in my head, Ty Jenkins really liked me. I wasn’t about to be super dumb and not tell him I liked him too, come on now he was the hottest guy in school. From that day on we dated all through high school and college.

Ty graduated three years before me and went to Morehouse. It was hard having a long distance relationship. The night before he left was the first time we ever made love and the best thing in my life, besides Tashawna’s birth. It didn’t take me long to get to Atlanta after I graduated. I moved in right next to him at Spellman. Shit was good between us.

We still had moments when we would break up for stupid shit. Like one time this girl had the nervous to be all up on him in a corner and when I confronted him he said “all the football players get play.” I dumped him right there, but was back in his arms a week later when he told me that although they all got play he was the only one who didn’t take the girls up on it. That hoe was just in his face because she was trying to get him to change his mind.

Then we broke up for about two months after he caught me kissing some guy in the library, but that shit wasn’t my fault. Ty just wasn’t trying to hear me. That guy kissed me out of the blue and if Ty would have stayed he would have saw me slap the shit out of him. We had so much love for each other that nuthin could keep us apart for long. That’s why my ass ended up pregnant when I was in my senior year of college and Ty was doing his internship at the law firm for the first year.

He handled things like a man. He got us a place and made sure I had the best natal care. That’s when he slept with that bitch. Now that topped the list of all I could take from a man. I was divested when I found out, I was so good to him and he did that shit. I wanted to kill him at first, but after talking to Sharon I forgave him, but it was too late he was already heading down the aisle and I was still sleeping with him, even though I don’t know why.
“Why in the hell am I sitting her thinking about Ty,” Shawna laughed to her self. “I am really pathetic.”

I was dancing with some guy, it was hard to remember his name, at Fantasy. After sitting still for thirty more minutes I had decided to phone Sharon and Carly so they could hang out. Sharon was all in for a day away from the hubby and she was still surprised that I actually had a day free. Carly on the other hand was to busy with Emma. Although Carly was my girl, I found it funny that she could go from dick to pussy in one damn day, but to all its own, my mother always said.

“Damn Shawna I ain’t seen you in ages,” Devin approached me as soon as he spotted me across the club, after I had thanked no name for the dance. Devin was an old college friend of Ty’s. They quickly grew apart when Ty saw him kissing me in the library at school.

“Hey Devin how you been doing?” I really didn’t want to be bothered with him because back in the day he was known as a womanizer and the fact that he broke up my relationship.

“I’ve been being me,” he grinned then took the time to look me up and down, “and from the looks of it you certainly have been being your fine ass.”

Now that is what I hated about a brother. They could come up with the dumbest lines ever. One guy had the nervous to come up to me earlier and ask ‘if it hurt when my fine ass fell from heaven.’ I looked at him and smirked before saying “Not as much as it hurt your mother when the doctor showed her your ugly ass face.” Shit! I got sick of brothers and their tired ass lines.

“You haven’t changed at all Shawna.”

“You haven’t either Devin. Now will you excuse me,” I tried to walk by him, but he grabbed my arm. “Don’t go so soon. We need to catch up.”

“Oh Devin I would love to catch up, but I really need to get home to my child.” Before I could even say the whole child word he quickly let my arm go. I knew a man like Devin didn’t like any woman having a child that wasn’t his or was his.

“You can’t possibly have a child Shawna. Look at you.” He took the time to look at me again, this time lingering a little bit too long on my breast. That shit made me mad so I decided to play with him.

“Yes in fact I have a lovely five year old, who would just love to have a daddy.” I smirked when he started looking around for a way out.
“Umm. I need to go….. bye.” He couldn’t leave quick enough. Now that shit was funny.

“What was his problem?” Sharon asked after Devin nearly knocked her over trying to get away from me.

I shrugged, “Beats me….. Now lets talk about that guy you were on the dance floor with.” She looked at me and laughed.

“That was nothing. I’m married. Besides that nigga had tired lines. He was like ‘I would go to the end of the world just to get with you.’” She mocked a man\'s voice.

“What did you say?”

“Girl, I said ‘well get to going.’ Then I left him standing there looking like one dumb mother fucker,” she pointed in his direction and he really did look like a dumb mother fucker. We both started to laugh. That’s when her phone rang.

“Yeah.... hey luva…. wait one minute baby,” she looked over at me. “Sorry girl, it’s the hubby. I’ll be right back.” She got up and headed towards the door.
At the same time she was walking out the witch from the west walked in.
“Damn,” I mumbled when she spotted me. She waved then stared walking my way. “Double Damn.”

“Well if it isn’t the tramp who wants my husband,” Gloria looked like she had already had one too many drinks and the guy she was with didn’t look any better. “You know bitches like you make me sick.” She had the audacity to put her hands on me.

“Gloria it will be in your best interest to keep your hands off of me.” I looked at her hoping she would give me a reason to whip her ass.

“And if I don’t what you going to do about it.” She stepped back a step when she saw I was not playing with her ass. “You know what you and my husband deserve each other. Ya’ll both get on my fucking nerves.” She looked back at her date when he put his arms around her.

“So does Ty know about this little get together?” She looked at me and smirked.

“Who gives a fuck what Ty knows about? Ty ain’t shit and when you go see him tonight make sure you tell him something for me,” she leaned in and the liquor on her breathe was oh so strong. “He missed something real good tonight.” She laughed and walked off with her boy toy right behind her.
I walked up to the bar to order a damn drink because I really needed one after being around her.

“Hey sexy,” this guy in the stool next to mines said. “Hey I think you are the best lookin girl in here,” he smiled at me. I looked him up and down then smirked.

“Really?” he nodded his head and I blushed. “Well I’d better go fine the best looking guy then.” His faced dropped when I got up and walked towards the door. I was defiantly not feeling the club scene anymore.

When I got home Ty’s car was parked in my driveway. I wasn’t expecting him tonight, but I was so glad to see him. I practically skipped up the driveway and bounced into the house. He was sitting on the couch and looked up when I walked in. I bounced over to him and fell in his arms. “This is so much better then clubbin.” I kissed him before he could ask why I was out in the first place.

He positioned us so I was straddling his lap. Ty ran his hands up and down my back as I moaned into his mouth and pulled away before it got a little too hot in there. “Now what are you doing here?”

He looked at me before trying to attack my mouth again, but I pushed him back gently. “Ok then we can talk first. I just needed to get away from the house.” He didn’t want to tell her that he had come close to sleeping with Gloria. That was one thing he wanted to forget about. “Now can we get back to the kissing,” he leaned in and pecked my lips. “How about we take this up stairs?” He winked at me while he stood up and carried me to the bedroom.

What the fuck! I knew it was going to happen anyway. I leaned in and kissed his neck which made him smile. Yea this is so much better then clubbin.

That was just a lot of information about Ty and Shawna\'s past and I wanted to try out some lines that I thought were funny. I love making up pick up line comebacks, but I think I heard one of them before somewhere else I don\'t really remember. Anyway my part is done now it is your part.
