Sex Every Seven Seconds

Chapter Five:

Selenity sat at the computer surfing the net. She stopped moving the mouse and turned to Jay and Eve playing chess at her coffee table and Jay was winning.

\"Did you know that guys think about sex about every seven minutes.\"

She asked in a bemused tone. Smiling at the reaction, she returned to the computer screen.

\"We do not!\"

Jay said defiantly. Looking to Eve he repeated his last comment. Looking back at Selenity, who was absorbed in the computer keyboard, typing at an extremely fast rate.

\"Why would you say something like that?\"

Jay asked in a hurt voice, putting on his puppy eyes, Selenity had to turn to him and smile. She knew she shouldn\'t encourage him, but it was hard not to.

Ever since he had helped to solve a murder, he had been given a place to stay in the institute that was, well, less restraining.

\"Because it\'s true, is it not?\"

Selenity wanted to know.

\"I don\'t know, never will because I will always be thinking \'what am I thinking about? Sex\' and then ill go, \'oh, I just thought about it\' and it would not be a very good experiment.\"

Replied Jay pouting, then looking back at the chessboard.

\"Check mate!\"

He cried triumphantly after his next move.

\"No fair.\"

Said Eve; it was her turn to pout.

\"Really you two, you should grow up.\"

Selenity said as she threw a pillow at her two fighting friends.

We are so immature, Selenity thought to herself with a mental chuckle.

A bleeping noise sounded from outside Selenity\'s room and Eve and herself jumped up and ran to the closet, dragging out black pants and black skivvies, they proceeded to get dressed next to the front door. When they were dressed, they took long black leather dusters and ran out the door with Jay following behind, thoroughly confused. They raced down the corridor towards the testing lab that had held Jay for a short time.

They were bare footed as they entered they large room.

\"What\'s the occasion?\"

Selenity asked urgently to an assistant that passed.

\"All slayers are being called for a mission, I think they are going to storm something with the what they are packing.\"

Looking around, she noticed that army issue sniper riffles and machine guns were being handed out, there were at least sixty of the finest slayers, most were still in their trainer-blues, were assembling around the large warehouse sized room.

Jogging over to the riffle rack, all the people there moved out of the way to let her and Eve through. Picking up the gun, she inspected it and loaded it with ammo, Eve followed her lead.

\"Lets have some order here!\"

Came the clear-cut voice of Selenity as she took charge.

\"Blues over this side of the room,\" Gesturing to her left side, Selenity continued, \"Slayers on my right. Any one without a weapon, move to the front. Make room! Lets get moving. Okay, twelve to a truck. Get organized, all the same weapons to the one truck, lets keep this quick.\"

As the room around her came into order, with no one running, but at a fast pace, they moved to the trucks, lined up and waited for the next order. When this was completed, Selenity and Eve sat down to put on some boots and gloves.

\"No weapon Eve?\"

Jays asked quietly, not wanting to disturb the quiet around him.

\"She has her knifes. No noise, we have to await the next order to move out.\"

Selenity said in a hushed voice also.

At that moment, Noel and some important looking people walked in.

\"That was horrible, what if it had have been real?\"

Noel asked. Looking spitefully around the room until his eyes rested on Selenity and Eve.

\"Thank you for you for your organisation. Some of you will come with me. Jenkins, Madison and the rest of the first squad.\"

There were only four to a squad, but he didn\'t feel like reading out names right at that moment. Sitting down at

As the people belonging to the names and squad walked briskly from the room, the people remaining broke into movement and chaos started again.

Sitting herself down at the large round table, she took notice of the people around the table, there were at least fourteen maybe more, of all different backgrounds and sexes. Noel sat at the head of the large table.

He was of coarse \'The Big Kahauna\', as Selenity liked to call him.

\"Before we get down to business I would like to introduce my priced slayers, Selenity D`Apatcha and Eve Russels.\" Noel said standing up and gesturing towards Selenity and Eve.

They both waved nervously.

\"The people that you see before you are the sponsors that keep this place open, and they liked to be kept up on what happens here.\" Noel said smiling.

\'Which means that they\'re stuffy and old.\' Selenity whispered to Eve. She snickered but stifled her laughter as Noel gave her a dirty look.

This was a serious meeting of all the sponsors and Noel didn\'t want anything to screw it up.

Especially not Selenity.

\"I have asked you here to help, the sponsors want to know what they are sponsoring, First Squad, you will take the blues and bring us back the one vampire that might be able to help. Angelique\'s brother. He might know about the warehouse, he might not though. We have reason to believe that she doesn\'t know he exists.\"

\"She does.\"

Selenity broke in.

\"Well, she knows that he exist, we don\'t know if she know where he lives.\"

\"She does.\"

Selenity broke in again.

\"Okay,\" Noel was getting annoyed now, \"She knows all about him, where he lives, what he does, when he goes out. Is this correct?\"

\"Yes, she has even met him.\"

Selenity replied.

\"Dean is the brother of Angelique, right now, she is the second most dangerous vampire in Gevaudan, next to Thorn. Thorn is the leader of a cult called the \'Brotherhood of the Wolf\'. Their main purpose is to create what they call, flocks of sheep, their livestock will be mortals. Anyone who knows a person or vampire in the cult will be slaughtered, as the immortals are keen to start off new, without anyone knowing who they are. That means the whole town is in danger, and neighboring towns. Selenity, Eve and Jay will be the task force who will wipe them all out.\"

Noel said, pausing to take a breath.

\"We, or rather, I, know of a way to wipe them all out.\"

Eve spoke up; all eyes were on her now.

\"But I prefer not to tell, it will ruin the surprise.\"

She said, smiling a queer little smile.

Noel and the other members were curious none the less, but not one of them was brave enough to ask her what she had in mind.

Dean sat at his desk typing on his computer when it happened.

Six people ambushed him and had him tied up before he knew what was happening.

Why didn\'t I sense them, he thought, then he saw it, the necklaces, and the trait of the slayer. It was a silver charm in the shape of the hand, unbelievably, if you wear one, a vampire can not sense you.

\"What do you want with me?\"

Dean asked in a subdued voice as he was bustled into a black van.

\"Go to hell.\"

Replied a slayer in blue; she was still in training. Mentally smacking himself he replied,

\"Slayer, I am from there. Why would I go back?\"

Selenity sat quietly as Noel equipped her with new weapons. He shuffled around her adjusting things here, strapping on new things there. All the while, she stood still, thinking. Thinking about what the possibilities of her return were, 2% she returns 98% she dies with the vampires. It was shellshock that kept her still, she was still grieving. Eve and Jay must stay behind when she enters the warehouse. That would be the only thing that kept her from going, she was doing this for others. That was what drove her to become the best slayer, to do it for people who could do it for themselves. The smile and gratitude she never heard from the people she saved, hell, they didn\'t even know they were saved, many think of it as a bad dream, that was best. If they didn\'t know the truth, lies always sound better.

Smiling at her own melancholy, she looked at the things, which she had in possession. A nasty looking sword at her side, matching knife opposite it on her waist. A gun with wood tipped ends, they would sting. A watch that heated when a vampire was near, glasses that made it easy to see fats movements and a recorder that was now being glued to her tooth, all slayers had these installed right before they were killed. Her last words and thoughts would he recorded on to this later to be added to the slayer archive in a basement somewhere in the institute.

Closing her stiff mouth, she kissed Noel on the cheek and walked out the room, tears in her eyes.

Jay was waiting for her outside the room, he looked just the same as she did, full of remorse.

Smiling grimly, she led the way back to her room, her last comfort.

Opening the door, Jay followed her in. she stood in the hallway, the watch on her wrist tingling a little. She felt it heat up slowly as he made his way to her, the tears were running freely now, tasting salty on her tongue.

\"I\'m going to die.\"

She whispered. More tears streaked their way down her face. Jay came around in front of her and put his hands on her shoulders. She shook slightly as he held her at arm length.

\"I won\'t let that happen.\"

Leaning forward, he kissed away the tears. That was what put her over the edge, she had an emotional overload. She stopped thinking and kissed him full on the lips.
\"Oops.\"

Came a soft voice from behind her, she didn\'t need to look to know that it was Eve.

\"I\'ll come back at a better time.\"

Jay chuckled, and hugging Selenity once, led her from her quarters in The Institute.

\"2% that I live.\"

Selenity said, she shook more, but not from the cold. She was scared. Very scared.

Everyone was quiet as they drove towards the warehouse where they death of many vampires would soon take place.

\"We are going to blow the place up.\"

Eve said, startling Jay from his trance and making Selenity smile at her friend.

\"It kind of suits them, to die burning.\"

Jay said grimly, looking to Selenity, he didn\'t want her to die. Not tonight anyway.

\"I love you.\"

Selenity said bravely to Jay. His eyes cleared of the grim determination, but only for a second. Selenity thought it might have been love replaced, she was never sure.

\"I love you, Selenity.\"

He replied. Eve was feeling more and more out of place in the presence of these two. Pouting, she looked from one to the other.

\"And I s\'pose no one in this car loves me.\"

\"Everyone loves you Eve, its hard not to. Do a thermo reading as soon as we get there please.\"

Jay said.

\"We are there.\"

Eve said back to him.

\"I\'ll get my gun, Eve, you can brief Jay on what we are going to do to these suckers.\"

Selenity said, nodding in the direction of the black feature blotting out most of the sky. It seemed very foreboding, probably because there were vampires inside or maybe because that\'s where she was most likely going to die.

Getting out of the car, she heard the dull mumble of Eve\'s voice through the car door.

Assembling her sniper, Selenity took off her knife and put it in the back of the car.

Looking through the fence of steel mesh, she saw a group of dogs patrolling the perimeter.

\"Vampire dogs.\"

She mumbled before going back to the front of the car. Looking in, Jay looked as if he was enjoying listening to Eve plan.

\"Light the ten second fuse and run.\"

Eve finished. A large smile crept across his face,

\"Sounds like fun.\"

He said turning to Selenity at his door.

\"Dogs, I\'ll get rid of them.\"

She said, stalking over to a bin, crouching, she watched Eve\'s face,

\"Don\'t kill the dogs, Sel.\"

She said pleadingly. Eyes wide with horror.

\"If it\'s any help, they are vampire dogs.\"

Selenity said, aiming and shooting the first dog. In under one minute, all of the dogs were dead, not one barked when it went down, Selenity saw to that.

Walking back to the car, she looked to eve then to Jay,

\"I have to in at day, can you manage Jay?\"

she asked seriously. His eyes were filled with determination again.

\"I can manage it, I got my stuff.\"

He said, holding up sunscreen. She sat back in the car and waited for sunrise, at first light, she would clip the fence and drive in two petrol trucks, light them up and run. It was a good plan, very good.

As dawn broke, if possible, more grimness settle over the group, they worked in silence, stealing looks from each other to confirm that they were doing it right.
When she had a big enough hole in the fence, she grabbed Jay and made her way to the next warehouse, which had three trucks parked next to it, but only two were full, but that didn\'t matter.

\"Once you get to through the fence, continue on momentum, you must turn off your engine lest they wake up from the noise.\"

She said to Jay, who was hiding under a blanket next to a brick wall.

\"Okay.\"

He said quietly as he got out and opened the truck door.

\"You could say driving trucks was in my blood.\"

He said, remembering the way he got to Gevaudan, hitchhiked in trucks, then drinking the driver. Chuckling at his joke, he earned a stare from Selenity that said, get moving, now!

\"How are our little vampires going, are they all sleeping beauties?\"

\"I don\'t know about the beautiful remark, but they are definitely sleeping.\"

Eve replied. She didn\'t like talking through speakers; they made her voice sound nasal. Or maybe that was just how her voice really sounded.

Watching Selenity drive the truck through the fence, she heard the sound of a dog\'s skull crunching under the weight of the truck as Jay drove over it.

Selenity turned of the engine and guided her truck in beside the ware house. She watched Jay go to the other end and park.

Getting out, Jay waited for the sound of a match being lit, his signal to do the same, but it never came. Growing nervous, he punched a hole in the side of the truck and dragged his foot through it as the made his way to Selenity\'s truck.

He couldn\'t sense anyone, but he could hear the gasping sounds of someone trying to breathe.

Selenity had been caught, and was being held and shielded on the passenger side ladder.

Damn it, Jay thought as he reached the front end of the truck, I could go around and ambush them, ut which way...

Making up his mind to go over, because the captor was probably waiting for him to go around. Swiftly jumping onto the top of the truck, he landed without a sound. But the vampire was expecting this and was ready.

Dropping Selenity on to the ground, he jumped to tackle Jay as he came down to land on the ground. But Selenity was ready, jumping up as soon as she landed, she kicked the vampire away and grabbed the sniper riffle that jay dropped as he collided with the flying vampire.

Selenity ended up with the gun, aiming it at the vampire, but the vampire was behind Jay and was using him as defense.

\"You won\'t shoot him.\"

Came the voice of Thorn from behind Jay, she figured as much, she knew she was going to be rushed by him, she felt it in her watch.

\"Jay, this will sting, but it is a powerful gun and will go straight through you to hit Thorn behind you, as soon as I shoot, I need you to run to Eve. Don\'t worry about me, I knew this would happen. I was prepared to die from the beginning.\"

She said, projecting her voice towards the two dark figures looming out of the dark.

\"Shit!\"

she heard Thorn curse. Smiling, she knew she had got him off guard, he didn\'t know if she would shoot.

Aiming, she lowered her gun to Jay stomach. Pulling the trigger, she watched them both fall over in pain, Jay didn\'t get up.

Some of these scenes were shamelessly stolen from another book. I don\'t own some of that chapter....... Just so you know.
