Chapter Six: Final Battle
~*~
Victor was the first to wake of the two. His eyes wandered roomroom, recognizing the warmth at his side. He smiled slightly, kissing the boy’s temple. His hand wandered to the boy’s face, essiessing it softly. “I love you…” He sat up and rubbed his eyes. ‘I have to get ready…tonight is the night.’
Pushing Tyler slightly, Victor proceeded to gently wake the boy. Tyler looked up and nodded, understanding that it was time. Victor rushed to his room, changing into his clothing. The shirt sat tightly on his pulsing muscles. He reached in his drawer and grabbed his normal items as well as some extra items. Though he knew it would come down to physical battle, he grabbed a few potions that serve as protection.
Walking down the hall, Tyler was already ready for the battle. Victor wrapped his arms around the boy’s waist from behind, kissing his neck tenderly. Tyler turned his head slightly as the man moved his lips up. Their lips captured into a passionate filled kiss. Tongues ran loosely in each other’s mouths, as they caressed tenderly. Victor knew that he wanted to taste Tyler before the battle, knowing it might be his last.
Finally, Victor broke the kiss and proceeded to the garage. He smiled, getting on the bike and motioning for Tyler to get on as well. Tyler nodded and sat behind the man before him, catching the man’s waist in a tight embrace. His fear rose in his chest, gurgling in his throat.
Victor grinned, starting the bike with a roar. They sped off towards the darkness in no specific direction. Damion had caught their scent, smiling widely. ‘So he challenges me? Just like Victor to do so…’ He walked easily, following the roaring engine of the bike.
Victor’s eyes darted to his left, noticing the figure coming towards them. He grinned, ‘So this is it…the time I have been waiting for.’ His life had led to this point. The tragic deaths of his parents; his lonely wandering as the Darkrider; the life he wasted to save the innocent, when there was little he could do; this was the momenat eat everything had led up to. Now, he had a more motivation to push him forward—Tyler.
Tyler; with his pale hair that shimmered like the stars in a foggy night; with the body of a young boy, just hitting the age of transformation; with Victor’s heart wrapped around his soul. This boy was Victor’s life; his essence; his very purpose for going on in this forsaken world; his every word spoken; his emotions; his anger followed by sadness, worry, caring. This boy made everything in the world seem alive. Tyler meant everything to Victor. Victor needed him like a mother needed her child. His life was nothing without this boy being in it.
Damion walked lightly against the padded ground, simply smiling at the coming vehicle. He was ready for the storming attack by the talented man that he was now about to face. The movement was lightning fast; he tucked his body into a roll into the air as the man sped at him, stretching his hand out to grab Damion. Victor skid the bike to a stop, before jumping into the air into a tucking roll as well. Tyler watched in pure amazement of how fast Damion and Victor moved.
Victor ran with stricken speed at the landing vampire. His punch aimed at the man’s abdomen. Damion shifted quickly, grabbing Victor’s hand and twisting it to the left. Victor flipped, taking the vampire by surprise as he grabbed quickly at the passing ankles. Pulling against the air, the vampire fell and quickly recovered. Victor jumped back as Damion’s hand came flying at his face. His movement then proceeded to jump into a kick, finally hitting the vampire’s side.
Damion let out a low groan before grabbing the man’s arm and pushing him away. Victor flipped over the vampire, kicking the man to the ground as he jumped to come down on the body. Damion rolled to the right, shifting his weight back into a back flip. Victor grabbed his knife that he had taken with him today and pushed it against the man’s arm. Damion shrieked and drove his knife into Victor. Victor felt the shearing pain in his side, screaming out in pain.
With his failing breath, he grabbed his stake and hit the vampire right in his heart. Damion burst into ash as Victor fell to the ground in pure pain. Tyler screamed, “NO!” He ran as quickly as his legs allowed to Victor’s side, pressing his face to the man as gently as he could muster his body to do.
Victor coughed as he felt his body begin to shudder. Victor looked up at the boy, feeling the blood rush from the wound with even course. Tyler’s eyes filled with salty tears that streamed down his cheeks. Victor raised his tender hand to the boy’s face, his eyes filling with tears of pain and joy. “I’m…glad…you’re…safe.” He caressed the boy’s cheek, wiping away the trailing tears.
Tyler felt his body began to shudder with fear. “Victor…don’t leave me..!” His hand shivered its way to the man’s paling face. Victor’s blood rushed as he felt his last moments were nearing. With his hoarse breath, he allowed his eyes to gaze lovingly at Tyler. “I…I…” He struggled against his failing body to breath out his words. “I…love…you” His eyes fell with great care as his body limped in the boy’s arms. Tyler screamed out into the night.
Tyler shook his lover lightly, “Victor…Victor…wake up…please!” His body shook as he pulled the limp man to his body as close as his body would allow. He groaned as the tears streamed passionately from his eyes. The cooling body breathed nothing, not a word. The man in his arms was lifeless; gone without a soul an essence. His love was gone, never to move for him again. Tyler shifted crying more loudly than before. His pain seeped through his tears. He cried until he had no tears to cry, even so he continued to grieve at his loss, hoping for a way to wake the sleeping man. His body trembled with anger, fear, worry, pain, and all that came with the loss of love.
Victor’s body was pale and cold. The limp figure only shifted when Tyler moved. Victor was really gone from him, never to love and care for him again. Why had this happened to him? Why had everyone he loved died with no cause and sometimes without remembrance? He lay down on the ground next to the man, holding tightly to the body that was lifeless. He pushed his lips to the man’s.
Though the taste of the man was still there, nothing was returned to Tyler. Now that Victor was gone, he had no purpose to live; no purpose to go on with his life. Could he be brave and take his own life? He had no idea what he was capable of. Suddenly, Tyler remembered something Victor had said. “I became a vampire hunter to avenge my parents…” Tyler stood up weakly. He pressed his fists to his side and raged at the sky. “From this point on, I am SHADOW—protector of the innocent!”
End Note: I know this was a really short chapter…but my brain hurts!!! Stay tuned for my newer works. I am going to begin an original dealing with a teacher at school!
