A Night Together
Later that day, Jon and Devi were at his house talking a little. Jon recalled the previous day when Devi and he were talking and she had said that she would pay him rent and everything. He told her not to worry about it, and that he was glad to have her around.

“Hey Dev, I’m going to the store, I’ll be back in a little while, ok?”
“Ok. I’ll see you in a little while then.”
Devi heard the door gently shut, and she walked over to it and locked the door. She was slightly paranoid about being alone.
She sat down on the bed, and began reading, then quickly fell asleep.

Knowing that pizza was one of Devi’s favorite food’s, especially when something was upsetting her, Jon got into his car, and called a near by pizza place and ordered a pizza for pick up from his cell phone. After the order was placed, he drove to a store, and picked up a bottle of wine, a dozen red roses, and two white taper can. W. When he was done with that, it was time to pick up the pizza. He walked into the parlor, and saw Nick. His first instinct, was to hit him, but he decided not to after thinking about all of the trouble it would cause. Instead, he got the pizza and left.
When he got back home, he was relieved to see that Devi waseep.eep. Quietly, he out the wine into the fridge, the candles in a drawer, and the roses in a vase which was then put behind a few books and cabinets, this way it was out of Devi’s sight. He put the pizza out onto the table and walked into his room, and gently woke her up. She looked at him 1/2 awake and smiled, then got up and walked with him into the kitchen.
She saw the pizza and smiled, realizing how well Jon knew her. Then she got out two plates and two glasses after asking what Jon wanted to drink.
“Dev, sit down I’ll get everything.” Sighing, she did while watching him and how smoothly he moved. When he brought over everything, she smiled again, and laughed a little to herself as she thought about how sweet he was.
They ate almost in silence, both thinking about before when Devi had kissed him. She wasn’t sure what he thought about it, but she didn’t think he minded, since he smiled afterwards. Jon was thinking about how amazing it was to have his love kiss him...
When they both finished, They stood up and went into the living room and turned on the TV.
“Dev, close your eyes, ok?” Jon asked with a sly twinkle in his eyes.
“Um...ok...why??” Devi asked, not quite sure what he was planning.
“Just close them, I’ll be back in a second.”
Devi hesitantly listened, remembering a time her parents told her to close her eyes and open her mouth, and then they made her take liquid medicine. She laughed remembering how fast she learned to take pills after that.
A few minutes later, Devi heard Jon’s soft, light footsteps walking towards her. He took her hands gently into his own, and told her to follow him. She did so, and sat down when he brought a chair over to her.
“You can open your eyes now..” Jon said nervously.
She opened her eyes, and saw that he had turned off all of the lights, but the room was dimly lit by two candles. IN front of her, was a glass of wine, and a dozen roses. She smiled and looked up at Jon, who was still standing in front of her. She stood up and kissed him again, this time more passionately then before. He wrapped his arms gently around her waist and brought her closer to him, and pulled away.
“Dev, for as long as I’ve known you, I’ve loved you. But I was always to afraid to say it because you were going out with someone, or I was going out with someone, or I didn’t want anything to come between our friendship. But today, when you kissed me, I realized that I couldn’t keep it from you anymore.”
Devi shyly smiled, and replied by saying “if I had known that before, I would’ve gladly asked you out before dating the few other guys I did. I’ve always wanted to be with you, but went out with other guys because I thought that you thought of me as only a friend or a sister...”
Still smiling, Devi leaned in to kiss him again.

That night, as they laid in each others arms, it wasn’t as awkward as it had been in the previous nights. They were closer together, and they kissed every few minutes.
Devi began kissing Jon’s neck a little, and gently biting it, as he ran his hands through her hair. When she stopped, he began g thg the same, and running his hands gently over her body, being intensely alert for any signs that she wanted him to stop. When she nestled in closer to him, he asked her if she minded at all. As a response, Devi ran her own hands through his long brown, almost black hair and lightly over his body, then whispered a soft, ‘no’.
For awhile, they were doing that, unthey hey fell asleep again, embraced in each other’s arms.
