Sleepy
Not the whole visit of Jay. More to follow. I know what he just did and it makes me giggle, especially the part where Paw is horrified. Sidhe can sleep somewhere between a day to a month without ill effects. If they put themselves into a meditative state (which involves putting all troubles and worries from their minds and has gotten harder over the years) they can "sleep" for up to three months without ill effects. It's said that at one point the Sidhe could be walking one moment and meditative the next, but in modern times it takes hours or days for them to achieve that state, due to so many pressing concerns. Mainly People... Anywho. Read, Review and enjoyPaw slept the next two days straight. Mik couldn’t even get the Sidhe up to eat.The morning that Jaw arrived, Paw woke up, hair on one side of his head sticking out at all angles and eyes barely open. He grumbled at Mik, a half hearted thing that turned to a whine as Paw shuffled around Mik and towards the bathroom. Half an hour, Mik swore he heard Paw pissing most of the time, in the bathroom and Paw shuffled out and to the kitchen. “You didn’t shower,” Mik tried to run his fingers through the hair that stood at all angles, but it wouldn’t lay flat. It still felt soft, but knowing how clean Sidhe hair was supposed to feel, Mik knew that it was dirty, “did you wash your hands at least?”Paw looked down at his hands, huffed out and walked back to the bathroom. Mik went about preparing breakfast for two. Eggs, ham (Paw hated bacon) and toast along with an assortment of veggies to go along with it and an assortment of fruit for afterwards. He looked down the hall that led to the bathroom and did up some more eggs and ham and even made hash browns on the side. Fry it until it was cooked kind of meals he could handle. Paw came out in clean clothing, hair wet and not brushed, thus it was all sticking up at odd angles, and sat at the kitchen table and mumbled something before grimacing at the fork and picking it up to eat everything on his plate. Mik waited until Paw was eating before picking up his own fork and helping himself to whatever he wanted. Paw was more likely to eat if he ate.Paw cleaned his plate. And the table. Then the Sidhe went to the fridge and gorged on more fruit before going upstairs and eating who knew what of his plants before running back down and to the bathroom. They would likely end up running late, Mik decided, and called in to Koln to let him know. The other man was just happy that Paw was finally awake. An hour later and Paw came out, stopped Mik from going into the bathroom and told him that he really didn’t want to do that.Mik rubbed a hand over his chin and told Paw he couldn’t wait to shave. So Paw sighed and went back into the bathroom and came out with the razor, the shaving cream, a towel and a small hand held mirror. Mik had to shave in the kitchen. Once shaved, he changed out of his sleepwear and grabbed his keys as he waited for Paw to finish tending his plants. The Sidhe skipped down the steps and gave Mik a big, innocent smile.“Love, I know you’ve missed two days of tending them, but Jay’s here today,” he pecking Paw’s cheek, “the man my mother is dating?”“Ahhhhh. Why Paw got to meet?”“Because he’s an investor and might … invest… in the program.”“Mean?”“Meaning,” Mik had to get his mind to work down that road, “that his money might buy lands where we can release a newly bought tribe so they can live there with their children, at least until this whole thing is sorted out.”“Ah. And Jay … is Sidhe?”“Wh- How could you even guess? A people would do that too, ya know.”“Mik smell of male Sidhe when he come home, if Jay is Mik’s mother’s man then that explains why Mik smelt like male Sidhe.”“Thought I was cheating, did you?” Mik muttered.“No. Mik didn’t smell THAT way.” Paw gave Mik’s cheek a kiss and looked about for his shoes. Mik chose not to respond. He led Paw out of the apartment and to the waiting car and they went to the program building. Paw waved to people who were loitering in the halls and Mik glared at them. He would have to talk to Koln about that. Through and to a meeting room that was big enough for both tribes to be in and relax in. Hohi and Lillow sat side by side. A dazed sort of look on her face and a half formed smile on his. If the pair had been people, Mik would have called Hohi a pervert. Yet somehow, amongst the Sidhe laws, it just seemed to make sense. Hohi was watched by both tribes and kept in line by his honour. Poor innocent Lillow was the babe of both tribes, it seemed. Violet’s tribe watched over her the way they did Violet, in the hopes that Lillow would be willing to enter their tribe. Essuan sat beside Lillow, digging at the corners of her nails and generally ignoring Souse who sat beside her. Souse looked up as they entered and Mik looked away, he just. Couldn’t seem to meet the Sidhe’s eyes. Paw froze when Mik looked away and in an instant, Souse was there, taking his hand and murmuring in Sidhe.Paw protested, Souse squeezed his hand in a not entirely friendly manner and escorted him to Essuan. Paw sat between the two and pouted as Essuan began chattering about … something. She pointed at nothing in particular, she said nothing that Mik recognised and it seemed like it was just idle chit chat. Paw glared at Lillow as she started in with the conversation. Mik moved across the room to Koln and Edno, “told him, did you?”“Yes. He, oddly,” Edno lowered his voice and turned his back on the Sidhe, “seemed pleased for a split second before he was concerned.”“We wonder at what it means,” Koln murmured, “seems the rest of the tribe was informed, look at how they’re all watching Paw without actually watching Paw. Essuan’s been happier than normal and it’s freaking me out.”Mik glanced over his shoulder and saw what Koln was talking about. Whether talking to the other tribe or amongst themselves, Souse’s tribe were all, in some way, facing Paw. The other tribe had noticed and were murmuring amongst themselves. One, the man in the cast, made hand motions with his back to Souse’s tribe and Violet watched him intently. Silent communication. Mik frowned and wondered if the two modes of communication, silent and verbal, could be stand alone languages. If perhaps there would be a benefit to learning first one, then the other.Essentially, Violet’s new main man was informing her of something to do with Souse’s tribe, with the tribe right there and none of them the wiser. Without seeing the hand motions, there was no way for them to know what the pair was talking about. Could be the weather, could be courtship. Could be critical information. Violet blanched and looked around the man to Paw.“The one eyed Sidhe,” Mik murmured.“On the mend. Souse spoke with Violet and she reluctantly came to some terms with him. She won’t demand Lillow or withhold Hohi and the two tribes will allow the pair to decide which tribe they want to live with. Souse sent Essuan in with something and says he’ll be better in a week or so,” Koln muttered, “just have to be careful who we pair him with.”“Paw chose the partner, even the Sidhe can make mistakes,” Mik muttered, “When’s Jay-”Galt walked in, leading the tall, tall man. All eyes, Sidhe and people, were on him in an instant. He smiled at the Sidhe in general, inclining his head just slightly to Souse and to Violet, before making his way, with Galt, to Koln. How had Jay known who was leader?“Hello Mik, your mother sends her greetings,” Jay murmured, “and you must be Koln, the man who brought our Mik into the program.”Our Mik?“Yes, yes I am.”“Can I meet Paw, or is that asking too much?” Jay turned to the Sidhe.“No, not really,” Mik walked away from the group, “we’ll just see how they take to a strange male approaching them.”Jay shot Mik a killing look, Mik shrugged and walked to where he figured the imaginary line of Sidhe territory was. Jay followed along and none of the Sidhe moved, didn’t even breath. Just eyes following the tall Sidhe from Koln, over to where Mik stood. “Which is Paw?” Jay made a show of asking. “He’s here,” Mik responded.Souse made a sound, a deep thing that turned to a higher note at the end. Jay stepped forward, turning his hands so that the palms were facing Souse, so that the leader could see that he wasn’t armed. Paw’s dark, glaring look turned to one of shock as Jay took his hand, turned it over and pressed the tip of his nose to it for just a moment. Paw snatched back his hand as if he had been bitten and batted ineffectually at Jay’s hand. Jay laughed heartily, “I always wanted to do that.”.
