~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He knelt down to pick up a thick branch on the ground, only to toss it into a small cart full of branches. The small boy sitting at the front of the cart would whistle to the wolf in front of him. “What’s the wolf’s name?”
Mace looked at Akira and gave a soft smile. “Rash.”
“Does he stay with you?”
“Yeah, father saved him a year before I was born. He’s a year older than me.”
Akira nodded; the boy was slowly opening up. After the way he acted around him Star asked him to keep an eye on the small boy. The boy was surprisingly smart he just didn’t like showing it around other people. He tended to retreat inside himself at certain points and he had the tendency to just stare of in space. He and Toby most likely would get along well. Even though the boy was born half human, his mother was human while his father was a wolf. “Do you have a tail?”
“Uh… yeah… mother…”
“Isn’t here.”
The boy looked at him and lowered his head, “I guess I could show you. Even if it’s messed up.”
“Messed up?”
“When I was smaller it got caught under a large rock. Now it’s got a hook in it.”
He nodded as the boy told him about the rock and how his dad didn’t have to use much of his strength to lift it up. It did take much to see that the boy looked up to his father. “I want to look for him but everyone keeps telling me he’s dead.”
“Do you think he’s dead?”
“I think he is but something tells me he’s out there somewhere.”
The brunette looked up when a black wolf landed in front of him. He grabbed a stick and swung out at him. “Don’t you even think about it!” The wolf disappeared; he found the wolf when a wet tongue ran up the side of his face. He bristled and made a face. “Damn it ZEV!”
Mace shook with silent laughter as he tried to keep from falling over. The two looked at him. Akira rubbed at his cheek as Zev pounced. There was a scream from the boy. Walking around the cart he found Mace struggling to get away as Zev held the boy in place by his tail. There was a yelp and Zev clutched his ear as he whimpered. The boy yanked his tail away and held it close. It was as long as he was tall. Sure enough the top of the tail was hooked.
“D-don’t touch m-my tail!”
Zev waved his hand at him as he glared at Akira. A hand gripped his muzzle and gray eyes looked at him. “You know not to do that.”
He pulled away and grabbed Akira pulling him into his lap. The slim male muttered and then huffed as Zev buried his nose against his neck. “Fine I get it you miss me. It’s not my fault you wanted to go help with the food!”
That’s right Zev had been gone since that morning and it was almost time to get back and help with dinner. He felt the worry underneath all the emotions. His fingers ran through the fur, “He’ll be fine Zev. Your mother said she’ll send us a letter if something goes bad.” He heard the soft sound and a soft smile spread across his face. His wolf was always worrying about something. Stopping his thoughts once he caught it. He sigh, yeah Zev was his just as he was Zev’s.
Mace walked around and grabbed a few dry branches. He would let the two be alone for a while. The branches were tossed into the cart as he looked at them, “Um…We need to… uh… finish.”
“Zev let go. I’m helping with the fire wood.” The wolf reluctantly let go of the slim male’s body and watched as he brushed himself off. “You can help if you want to.” That tail waged and Akira sighed. A growl came from Akira as Zev once again licked him up the side of his face. “Damn it Zev!”
^^^^
Rune watched as Dawn rushed past him into the room. He wasn’t allowed in there till she said it was safe. The door closed and he itched to take a peek, just a peek at Keir, that’s all he wanted to see. All he knew was that Nina and Dawn were in there. He needed to know if he was fine. In the middle of the night the dark haired male had tried to get up only to be found out cold on the ground with his wound reopened.
At first he thought Keir had been attacked by Akira till the body hit the ground. He had thought the man was dead…
They all thought the man was dead.
“Take Jett and get the hell out of here.” Those chains that had shot out wrapped around Akira’s body before he could attack anyone. “I said to run! Take Rune with you while you’re at it!”
Keir gritted his teeth and turned to pull Jett along. “But…” Jett’s large sword was sitting off to the side.
“You heard him.” They were rushing up the stairs when Keir pushed him to the side. There was a sound from behind him and then a scream from Rune. He saw the smaller male running at him and he looked over his shoulder. The taller male stumbled and coughed, his breath came out in a rasp as he gripped the blade that had run him through. It shattered and he dropped to his knees on the ground.
Jett was standing to try to fight back when something rushed past him. Mitch was on his way up when he saw what happened. Rune had ripped his fingerless glove off and growled low in his throat. “You fucking little bastard.” Jumping forward his hand gripped Brandon’s face. Those eyes widened and he let out a strangled cry.
The older brunette came to a full stop at the sight of Rune tackling Brandon to the ground. “What the hell?”
Running around the corner he quickly pulled Rune off the already dying man. “Let go! I’ll kick his ass!” He gave a sigh as he realized it was Rune.
“Rune…” The male stilled and looked back at Keir. “Keir, he’s bleeding a lot.” Jett stood as he said this. “I’m going to find Lucy.” He stumbled and looked back to see a hand gripping his Leg.
“Rune…”
“He’s all right.”
“… good…” The small male ran over and dropped next to the body.
“Keir!” His hands rolled him over and he placed his head on his lap. “Hey, you okay?”
“I’m fine…just leave me here… I’ll catch up.”
“Like hell.” Rune grabbed his arm and hoisted him up. For a small body he was pretty strong. Keir’s body was draped over Rune’s back and his arms dangled over his shoulders. His head was rested against his shoulder.
“Please… Rune…”
Mitch walked over to help but Rune was already walking up the stairs.
His fingers rubbed at his wrist. There were bandages wrapped around it and he could feel the gauze underneath. It itched like crazy. Dawn pulled his hand away. “Don’t scratch.”
“Sorry.”
“You can go in now but don’t push it.”
He nodded and walked in. The jacket sleeve was pulled over the wound; he couldn’t move his wrist well and another wound on his shoulder made it hard for him to move his arm. Needless to say he was only wearing a jacket. Keir was hunched over his head in his hand. The hair was clinging to his face and head. The dark haired male was probable feeling crummy right now. “Keir.”
His head shot up. “Rune.” The worry in his eyes was visible as he looked at him. “Are…”
“I’m fine. Everything is fine, Momma Dawn sat with me through the night and everything is fine.”
He gave a sigh and Rune walked over only to be stopped. “Stay right there.”
“Why?”
“I don’t want to hurt you anymore.”
Rune crossed his arms wincing as he did and growled out. “I forced you remember. I was the one who sliced open my wrist and forced your face closer.” Keir looked away and sighed.
He looked tired and Rune walked over. His hand touched his head. “I’ve told myself I’ll be careful I won’t take a taste. Now I’m trying to forget and I can’t even get the taste out of my mouth.”
“How about I go get you something to eat and then we get through this together. Just like you helped me with the basement.”
“Okay.” Rune turned to leave only to be pulled back, he smiled as he wrapped his arms around Keir’s neck. Fingers slipped into his hair as he kissed the small male. He shivered as the smell of blood slipped past his nose. His body jerked away. The face Rune made went unnoticed as Keir was looking away.
“I’ll get the food.”
Looking back over, he saw the small male as he walked out. His shoulders hung and his hands we’re resting in the coat pockets. Once the door closed he gave a shaky laugh. “fuck…”
Dawn walked over to the door. The loud banging was clearly pissing her off. She yanked the door open and growled, “I’m busy what do you want!?”
“Is that how you treat your mother?”
Pale blue eyes darkened as she stood straighter. “The last time I checked, my mother would even look me in the eye because I got knocked up by a flea bitten mongrel.” The last of her sentence came out as a growl.
The older woman made a sound as she pushed her way into the house. The long straight graying hair was tied back and pale blue eyes glanced at her daughter. “I came to see if Keir is fine.” It didn’t surprise her that the woman in front of her knew about what happened. “And I think you have one more guest.” A slim finger pointed out the door and she looked to see a larger man standing in the door way. She let out a groan.
“Caden you’re oh so wonderful papa is here.” The sarcasm was literally dripping from her words as she called out to Caden.
Caden was down the steps quickly as he stepped between the two. “Hey lets go talk in the other room. I don’t want Nuri watching this.”
Just then Rune walked out of the kitchen with a sandwich on a plate and a black bottle. “Momma Dawn is it okay if I give this…” He stopped when he became aware of the eyes on him, “…… I’ll be with Keir.”
“Dawn, are you taking in unwanted brats.”
“Mother!”
His grip tightened on the plate as he kept walking. The woman sniffed the air and she appeared in front of him. He came to a dead stop his head lowered. “Who are you?”
“That is none of your concern.” He went to walk past her but she stepped back in his way.
“It is when I smell Keir on you.”
Dawn was sweating from how quiet the boy was. Caden had steered his father down the hall and into another room. “Rune…”
Rune looked up with a grin on his face, “Excuse me but I have blood to give to Keir.” His eyes grew dark as he leaned forward. “In more ways than one.” There was a snort from Dawn as the woman’s face went white. He walked past her humming a song. One ear gave a twitch as his tail flicked out behind him. “Oh…” he stopped on the steps, “is it alright if Keir drinks this.”
The dark haired woman moved the hand away from her mouth and nodded, “Yes it’s alright he should be able to.”
A big smile crossed his face, “That’s good.” The small male quickly made his way down the hall to one of the spare rooms that Keir was in.
The older woman unhinged herself and was soon following Rune, Dawn right on her heels. “Hold on he’s still healing and you are not going to make it worse for him.”
“I have every right; he is to take his grandfather’s place. Only a man can take head of the house.”
“Keir’s already told you he doesn’t want anything to do with it and I already talked to father he said Nina will be fine!”
“It is tradition.”
“Fuck tradition!” The older woman turned on Dawn.
“You have no right!”
“No YOU have no right! When Keir was born you wanted nothing to do with him just because his twin was a wolf!”
The two stared at each other and then the older woman was walking down the hall. Her hand reached out and grabbed the handle of the door and opened it. As she walked in she froze. Dawn glanced over her and a big grin spread across her face. Keir currently had his fingers tangled in Rune’s hair and his mouth was feasting on Rune’s. The sounds the small male was making had Dawn giggling like a mad woman.
Rune jerked away at the sound of the audible squeak. He winced as his wound was stretched open. The two glanced at the two women standing in the doorway. A sigh escaped Keir as he moved away from Rune. “Rune your wound has opened.”
The small male pouted as he muttered, “I don’t mind if you took some.”
“No.”
“Fine, starve.” He was off hip lap and walking past Dawn. She sighed as she walked over to Keir. The opened bottle sat on the side table.
“How do you feel?”
“Like my throat is dry.” He looked around Dawn and waved at the shell shocked older woman. “Hello Grandma Daelynn.”
She straitened up and coughed, “Keir, obviously you know why I’m here.”
“Yes and my answer is still the same.” He turned to him mother, “Why can’t I drink that?” His head tipped towards the open bottle.
Before Dawn could answer Daelynn spoke up. “Who is that boy?”
“That is Rune.” He gave a smile. “He’s the reason I’m not leaving. Unless he wants to leave I’m not going to move or go anywhere.”
“Mother will you please leave I need to have a talk with MY son.” They looked at each other and she harrumphed and walked out. The door closed and she gave a laugh, “Okay, whose idea was that?”
“Rune started it.”
“I might have to make him an extra good treat.”
“You do that and he might like you more than me.”
She smiled and then her face went serious, “Keir can you drink the bottled blood.”
“No.”
The woman gave a sigh as she sat on the edge of the bed. “You better get over it. If you don’t except that your body wants only Rune’s blood you’ll stay thirsty till you jump him yourself. So get over it.”
“I was hoping it wouldn’t come to this.” His hands gripped at the covers. “I can still taste him in my mouth and it’s only been a few days.”
“It was the same way for me, only your dad found me on deaths door. He gave me some of his and I found myself unable to drink anything else. It took me forever to realize what was going on.” She smiled and looked at him. “Keir he is the other half of your soul. He is your blood.”
“I was afraid of that.” His head hung as he muttered something. “I feel like I’m going to end up like them.”
“Who?”
“I feel like if I bite him I’m just like those other guys that hurt him.”
“Why don’t you ask him?”
His head shot up as he heard her call out to someone. The door opened and Rune looked in, the stuffed cat was in his arms. “I started to feel sorry… I didn’t mean it…” He sniffed and hid most of his face behind the stuffed cat. “I … I don’t want to lose Keir… you’ve been so nice to me… and… and…” Dawn stood up and moved away as Keir smiled.
“Come here.” The small male whimpered and walked over to him.
She slipped out of the room and closed the door behind her as Keir pulled the small body closer to him. Walking down the stairs she found her mother standing there. “Well?”
“I’m not going to give up.” She turned and walked to the door. “I’ll be back later to ask again.”
“You do that.”
The door closed and she looked up at the ceiling, “Stubborn old woman.” She wondered how things were going with Caden.
Rune was curled up against Keir. A shiver coursed through his body as Keir ran his tongue over the already healing shoulder wound. “I still feel bad about this.”
“Hmmm…” He chuckled at the dazed look on Rune’s face. The jacket was hanging open and hung off of his was bandaged shoulder. Keir buried his nose in Rune’s hair and took a deep breath. Every little thing about Rune made his body react. Damn bastard didn’t have to run him through with a sword. If he didn’t he would have ravaged the small body that was pushed up against him right now.
“Earth calling Rune.”
His eyes blinked and he looked at Keir’s eyes. “Yeah what is it?”
“Are you sure about this?”
A grin spread across that face, “Yes.” His head laid back against Keir’s shoulder. “Because I love you. When I saw what happened…I–I… don’t know what came over me… but I didn’t want to kill him I wanted to make him suffer. The next thing I knew Mitch was pulling me off the guy.” He blinked when he saw the look on Keir’s face. “What is it?”
“Did you…”
His brows drew closer in confusion, “Did I what?”
His face softened and he kissed Rune, “I love you too.” Keir’s mouth moved along his neck, at first it was soft bites. But once he got to his shoulder…
Rune made a sound and Keir stopped. “You okay?”
“Yeah, I’ll be fine. My shoulder is just a little stiff.”
He gasped as Keir turned him. With the small wrist in his hand he slowly unwrapped the bandages. Once they were gone he could see the stitches on his wrist. His fingers ran over it and those arctic blue eyes moved to look at him. “You sliced your wrist open.”
“Yeah I wasn’t thinking… I had just remembered something and then I just reacted. I didn’t want to lose you.” The cat was sitting in his lap; his other hand was gripping at the stuffed toy. “Besides I’d heal fast enough to only be anemic for a few hours at the most. Momma Dawn is going to remove the stitches today or tomorrow.”
He bent his head and ran his tongue over the wound. Rune went red in the face. ‘Ack!’ “C-c-can you not bite into m-my wrist.” His eyes looked at him and he blushed.
“I’m not going to…”
His face went redder as Keir kissed up his arm. His tongue would slip out and lick at his arm. “Um… what are you doing?” The small male had just squeaked when one hand slipped into the open jacket.
“I can’t stop thinking about that kiss. The one you started… I think we should finish it.” His arctic blue met maroon and his mouth closed over Rune’s. Cool fingers ran over his exposed skin causing Rune to gasp out. The soft sounds that the small male made while Keir devoured his mouth where driving him crazy. Rune tossed his arms around Keir’s neck and gasped as those fingers slipped down. They gripped at his hips and moved him till he was flush against Keir.
A cry left him as his hips were ground against Keir’s. “K-Keir!” That mouth nipped at his chin and moved down to his neck. A tongue run up under his neck and Rune shivered. His fingers tangled into Keir’s hair. The grip from Rune’s hands on his hair made him smirk. Tongue and mouth ran down his neck as soft gasps and moans fell from the small male. The jacket was pushed off of the shoulders of that small body.
He could smell the dried blood on his shoulder as he moved further from the injured shoulder. His tongue ran over one of Rune’s nipples and he gave a moan. That tongue kept moving over it as his hand reached up to rub at the other one. The grip on his hair tightened and his body pushed closer. He gave a chuckle as the small male gave a gasping cry. Pulling away both hands moved to tease both nubs as he kissed and swallowed every begging moan and cry. Pulling away he watched as Rune’s head fell back exposing his neck.
Keir’s eyes focused on the slim neck and he had to rip his gaze from it. ‘Not yet…’ His mouth went back to teasing the other nub. Rune pushed his hips against Keir’s. He cried out as Keir gave a groan. That hand moved down to unbutton and unzip his pants. Small hips pushed up as his hand rubbed over the already leaking erection through the cloth. Pulling away he pushed both shorts and underwear down over his hips. “You’re already this wet?”
A whimpering cry came from the small male as Keir rubbed a cool finger over the tip of his weeping cock. Maroon eyes looked down and gave a gasp as he watched as Keir started to rub him. “Nnn… what about… y-you?”
His eyes met Rune’s and he leaned back some. He undid his pants and pulled Rune closer. That small body jerked closer at the feel of their hard erections rubbing together. Keir gave a groan as he gripped and rubbed them together. Rune wrapped his arms around Keir’s shoulders and buried his head in his neck as he cried out from the pleasure. “Feel good…?”
“Yes… please…” Those hips swayed as he stroked both of them closer. He was gasping for breath as Keir tightened his grip on Rune’s hips. “More…” He could smell it as the small male cried out. His body was jerking trying to get more of that good friction. “Please… Keir…!”
He chuckled as he kissed his neck. “Later after my wound heals…”
“But…” The small male gave a cry as Keir’s hand moved faster. His body pressed closer to Keir’s. He wanted to feel everything as he rushed closer. Cool fingers slipped behind the small male and rubbed over the twitching opening. He was shouting as a deft fingers slipped in and quickly found that spot that made the small male give a choked scream. “Oh yes! Keir!”
Dazed maroon eyes looked behind him and he shivered as he watched those fingers push into him. Keir moved his head and ran a tongue over the shoulder wound. He gave a groan as Rune thrust his hips forward. Judging by the gasping pleas the small male was close to losing it. His eyes glanced as the pleasure filled face that Rune was making. Keir opened his mouth. Rune cried out as something sharp clamped onto his shoulder. Then his whole body shook from the overwhelming pleasure he felt right after. His fingers gripped as Keir’s shoulders as he whimpered out, “Close…” He gave a scream as he came and Keir groaned against Rune’s shoulder as he followed after him.
His small body shook and twitched as he licked over the wound. Those maroon eyes were glazed over as he lay slumped against Keir. Pulling his hands away he picked the small body up and moved him. His hand reached over to snag a wash cloth sitting on the bedside table. “Hey, you still here?”
Maroon eyes blinked as he finally gathered his bearings and looked at Keir. A grin spread across his face, “I can’t wait till you’re healed.”
He smiled and kissed him. Rune’s taste was still in his mouth. He had to busy himself cleaning the smaller male up or he’d latch on to the now healed shoulder. At least his wound didn’t hurt every time he moved now. “Tomorrow it will be.”
“Good!” His face buried against the vampire’s side. “I love you.”
“I hope you do.”
“I always will.” He sat up and wrapped his arms around his neck. “So if you’re ever thirsty I’ll give you my blood. Even if I have to use a needle to pull the blood out.”
Keir made a face and Rune frowned. “You really don’t have to go that far.”
“Well who is the one being a chicken shit?”
“Oi!”
“What? You are acting like one!” He stood up to straighten his clothes. Looking over his shoulder he watched as Keir fixed himself. “I’m not afraid of blood anymore… I think. But……” His eyes looked at Keir’s waist and he paled. Keir’s arm shot out to grab the front of the passed out male’s jacket. He pulled on the jacket and ended up with Rune halfway on the bed.
Shaking and small male slightly he called out, “R-Rune!” He looked down and gave a low growl. His wound had to of reopened before he took the bite and now Rune was slumped against the edge of the bed. The small man was still affected by blood… but then again so was he. He gave a mutter and called out, “Mom.”
The door opened a few minutes later and Dawn walked in. He pointed at Rune. She blinked, “What happened?”
“He saw the blood from my wound.”
“So he’s not over it huh?”
“Yeah.”
She sniffed the air and her eyes narrowed as he started to sweat. Those narrowed eyes looked at him as he glanced up at the ceiling. “Keir.” Her voice was very stern at the moment. She gave a grin as her eyebrow twitched, “I said no straining activities till you’re healed.” Walking over she picked up the body that was as tall as her and draped him over her back. “I’m going to put him in your room.” She looked at him and flicked him in the forehead. Wincing he rubbed at his forehead as he gave a frown directed at her back.
He sighed and saw the stuffed cat, “Ah wait!” Dawn stopped and Keir tossed her the cat. “He won’t sleep unless he has something of mine nearby.”
The door closed and he sighed. His arms tucked behind his head as he gave a smirk. That was so worth it. Oh well he should be better soon then he can have all the fun he wanted. He stared up at the ceiling as he wondered what his brother was doing right now.
~~~~
Zev sneezed making Akira give a start. He looked back at Zev. His paint brush was in his hand. “You okay?”
“Yeah just a sneeze.” He grinned at Akira and the brunette shrugged as he went back to painting.
~~~~
Rune yawned as he rolled over. He tossed his arm out and jerked up as his arm flopped on the bed. The spot next to him was cold. He strained his hearing but heard nothing. Sitting up he looked around. The room was empty. “Keir!” There wasn’t a reply. His hand gripped the whistle as he slid off the bed. He was still wearing the jacket and shorts. The stuffed cat was sitting on top of his pillow still. His maroon eye saw the clock and he sighed, it was ten.
Padding over to the closet he pulled a box over. It was one of the many that Kai had brought over telling him that he could finally move in with Keir. Kai had finally found a job and another roommate… most likely a lover. He was glad that Kai was finally happy. Pulling out a shirt he pulled it on after taking the jacket off. Standing up he padded back out into the room.
Well he was up and there was no way he would be sleeping any time soon. He crossed the room and sat in the office chair. Pulling his legs up, he rested his chin on his knees. Keir was most likely asleep. Once he was asleep he was out for most of the night. A smile found its way on his face. He was a deep sleeper that was for sure… but if he called out his name he would wake up. “Keir…”
He jumped when two hands grabbed him. “You okay?”
“Keir!” His chin rested on Rune’s shoulder as his arms wrapped around Rune. “You shouldn’t be up!”
“I’m fine. It looks like a scratch now.”
“You still shouldn’t be up.”
Keir smirked as Rune’s head nodded forward. “Tired?”
“No!” He squeaked as Keir picked him up. “Keir!!!”
“Bed time.”
“Hey!!” They both dropped onto the bed and he shouted in surprise. He rolled over to look at Keir. “Are you okay?” His hands went to push the shirt up. Then he shoved it all the way up as he looked over his stomach. “It’s healed!”
The dark haired male nuzzled against Rune’s neck. “As soon as it healed I made my way over. I guess I can thank your healing ability.”
“Wow…” Rune ran his fingers over his stomach where there was a faint line. “I’m glad.” A smile slipped onto his face. His eyes droop closed as Keir started to run his fingers through his hair. “That’s cheating.”
There was a chuckle from Keir as he looked at Rune. “Get some sleep.”
“Why?”
“I’m going to keep you busy tomorrow.”
“So we’re going somewhere?”
“Yes.”
He hugged Keir and smiled as his face pushed against his chest. “I love you.” His eyes closed and Rune was soon sleeping. Keir smiled and pulled him closer.
“I love you, too.”
^^^^
Rune ran down the steps two at a time as Keir followed after him at a more leisure pace. It had been two weeks since Akira and Zev left. He grinned as he jumped the rest and looked back to see Keir still walking. “Come on, Keir!”
“I’m coming. I’m coming.”
“You’re too slow!”
Oh how he could tease Rune for saying that. The small male was jumping shouting at him to hurry up. “Come on I have to be there quick or Silver will be pissed and then Arius will have to calm him down…” Keir smirked as he got to the bottom of the step. “You’re making fun of me aren’t you!?”
“No.”
He stared at him and then he scowled, “Stop making fun of me!”
“I’m not.” The dark haired male pulled him closer as they started walking for the door.
“Where is he!?”
They stopped and looked down the hall. “I don’t know if I could tell you even then I wouldn’t.”
Rune glanced at him, “What’s going on?”
“Sounds like father and…” The door slammed open and Keir stiffened at the sight of the larger man. Sharp blue eyes looked at Keir and kept walking. The dark blond hair on the man was starting to become paler. He stopped and glanced at the small male who stood looking up at him.
The man was a couple inches taller than Keir. When he spoke he looked directly at Keir, his voice was low rumble. “I don’t suppose you know where your brother is?”
“I don’t.”
“Um… sir…” He squeaked when those eyes looked at him. “I-is this about Akira?”
“So that’s his name.”
Keir watched as those maroon eye narrowed and he squared his shoulders. “Akira is finally happy I won’t let you fuck it up!” He was yanked back as Keir stepped in front of him. The two stared at each other. Finally the man turned breaking eye contact.
“I’m only worried about what will happen to Zev after he’s done.”
Rune gripped the back of Keir’s shirt as his tail bristled slightly. “Akira is not like that. He frowns down on that. If Akira didn’t care about Zev that way he would have told him up front! So stop making it sound like he’s just using Zev!”
“Rune.” His maroon eyes looked at Keir. “Relax. He just doesn’t want a repeat of what happened before.”
“What happened?”
The vampire smiled, “Let’s just say Zev went on a long trip and leave it at that.” He sighed and nodded and then glared at the older man.
“Don’t you hurt Akira!” The small male was bristling as the man walked away from them.
He looked at Rune, “Hey, don’t you have to get somewhere?”
“Ah! I’m late!” The dark haired male stumbled as Rune tugged him along. “We have to leave now!”
I will work hard on the next one. I will get it up this weekend even if I have to stay up all night…… or just wake up early to work on it. Well what do you think? Reviews or welcomed.
He knelt down to pick up a thick branch on the ground, only to toss it into a small cart full of branches. The small boy sitting at the front of the cart would whistle to the wolf in front of him. “What’s the wolf’s name?”
Mace looked at Akira and gave a soft smile. “Rash.”
“Does he stay with you?”
“Yeah, father saved him a year before I was born. He’s a year older than me.”
Akira nodded; the boy was slowly opening up. After the way he acted around him Star asked him to keep an eye on the small boy. He and Toby most likely would get along well. Even though the boy was born half human, his mother was human while his father was a wolf. “Do you have a tail?”
“Uh… yeah… mother…”
“Isn’t here.”
The boy looked at him and lowered his head, “I guess I could show you. Even if it’s messed up.”
“Messed up?”
“When I was smaller it got caught under a large rock. Now it’s got a hook in it.”
He nodded as the boy told him about the rock and how his dad didn’t have to use much of his strength to lift it up. It did take much to see that the boy looked up to his father. “I want to look for him but everyone keeps telling me he’s dead.”
“Do you think he’s dead?”
“I think he is but something tells me he’s out there somewhere.”
The brunette looked up when a black wolf landed in front of him. He grabbed a stick and swung out at him. “Don’t you even think about it!” The wolf disappeared; he found the wolf when a wet tongue ran up the side of his face. He bristled and made a face. “Damn it ZEV!”
Mace shook with silent laughter as he tried to keep from falling over. The two looked at him. Akira rubbed at his cheek as Zev pounced. There was a scream from the boy. Walking around the cart he found Mace struggling to get away as Zev held the boy in place by his tail. There was a yelp and Zev clutched his ear as he whimpered. The boy yanked his tail away and held it close. It was as long as he was tall. Sure enough the top of the tail was hooked.
“D-don’t touch m-my tail!”
Zev waved his hand at him as he glared at Akira. A hand gripped his muzzle and gray eyes looked at him. “You know not to do that.”
He pulled away and grabbed Akira pulling him into his lap. The slim male muttered and then huffed as Zev buried his nose against his neck. “Fine I get it you miss me. It’s not my fault you wanted to go help with the food!”
That’s right Zev had been gone since that morning and it was almost time to get back and help with dinner. He felt the worry underneath all the emotions. His fingers ran through the fur, “He’ll be fine Zev. Your mother said she’ll send us a letter if something goes bad.” He heard the soft sound and a soft smile spread across his face. His wolf was always worrying about something. Stopping his thoughts once he caught it. He sigh, yeah Zev was his just as he was Zev’s.
Mace walked around and grabbed a few dry branches. He would let the two be alone for a while. The branches were tossed into the cart as he looked at them, “Um…We need to… uh… finish.”
“Zev let go. I’m helping with the fire wood.” The wolf reluctantly let go of the slim male’s body and watched as he brushed himself off. “You can help if you want to.” That tail waged and Akira sighed. A growl came from Akira as Zev once again licked him up the side of his face. “Damn it Zev!”
^^^^
Rune watched as Dawn rushed past him into the room. He wasn’t allowed in there till she said it was safe. The door closed and he itched to take a peek, just a peek at Keir, that’s all he wanted to see. All he knew was that Nina and Dawn were in there. He needed to know if he was fine. In the middle of the night the dark haired male had tried to get up only to be found out cold on the ground with his wound reopened.
At first he thought Keir had been attacked by Akira till the body hit the ground. He had thought the man was dead…
They all thought the man was dead.
“Take Jett and get the hell out of here.” Those chains that had shot out wrapped around Akira’s body before he could attack anyone. “I said to run! Take Rune with you while you’re at it!”
Keir gritted his teeth and turned to pull Jett along. “But…” Jett’s large sword was sitting off to the side.
“You heard him.” They were rushing up the stairs when Keir pushed him to the side. There was a sound from behind him and then a scream from Rune. He saw the smaller male running at him and he looked over his shoulder. The taller male stumbled and coughed, his breath came out in a rasp as he gripped the blade that had run him through. It shattered and he dropped to his knees on the ground.
Jett was standing to try to fight back when something rushed past him. Mitch was on his way up when he saw what happened. Rune had ripped his fingerless glove off and growled low in his throat. “You fucking little bastard.” Jumping forward his hand gripped Brandon’s face. Those eyes widened and he let out a strangled cry.
The older brunette came to a full stop at the sight of Rune tackling Brandon to the ground. “What the hell?”
Running around the corner he quickly pulled Rune off the already dying man. “Let go! I’ll kick his ass!” He gave a sigh as he realized it was Rune.
“Rune…” The male stilled and looked back at Keir. “Keir, he’s bleeding a lot.” Jett stood as he said this. “I’m going to find Lucy.” He stumbled and looked back to see a hand gripping his Leg.
“Rune…”
“He’s all right.”
“… good…” The small male ran over and dropped next to the body.
“Keir!” His hands rolled him over and he placed his head on his lap. “Hey, you okay?”
“I’m fine…just leave me here… I’ll catch up.”
“Like hell.” Rune grabbed his arm and hoisted him up. For a small body he was pretty strong. Keir’s body was draped over Rune’s back and his arms dangled over his shoulders. His head was rested against his shoulder.
“Please… Rune…”
Mitch walked over to help but Rune was already walking up the stairs.
His fingers rubbed at his wrist. There were bandages wrapped around it and he could feel the gauze underneath. It itched like crazy. Dawn pulled his hand away. “Don’t scratch.”
“Sorry.”
“You can go in now but don’t push it.”
He nodded and walked in. The jacket sleeve was pulled over the wound; he couldn’t move his wrist well and another wound on his shoulder made it hard for him to move his arm. Needless to say he was only wearing a jacket. Keir was hunched over his head in his hand. The hair was clinging to his face and head. The dark haired male was probable feeling crummy right now. “Keir.”
His head shot up. “Rune.” The worry in his eyes was visible as he looked at him. “Are…”
“I’m fine. Everything is fine, Momma Dawn sat with me through the night and everything is fine.”
He gave a sigh and Rune walked over only to be stopped. “Stay right there.”
“Why?”
“I don’t want to hurt you anymore.”
Rune crossed his arms wincing as he did and growled out. “I forced you remember. I was the one who sliced open my wrist and forced your face closer.” Keir looked away and sighed.
He looked tired and Rune walked over. His hand touched his head. “I’ve told myself I’ll be careful I won’t take a taste. Now I’m trying to forget and I can’t even get the taste out of my mouth.”
“How about I go get you something to eat and then we get through this together. Just like you helped me with the basement.”
“Okay.” Rune turned to leave only to be pulled back, he smiled as he wrapped his arms around Keir’s neck. Fingers slipped into his hair as he kissed the small male. He shivered as the smell of blood slipped past his nose. His body jerked away. The face Rune made went unnoticed as Keir was looking away.
“I’ll get the food.”
Looking back over, he saw the small male as he walked out. His shoulders hung and his hands we’re resting in the coat pockets. Once the door closed he gave a shaky laugh. “fuck…”
Dawn walked over to the door. The loud banging was clearly pissing her off. She yanked the door open and growled, “I’m busy what do you want!?”
“Is that how you treat your mother?”
Pale blue eyes darkened as she stood straighter. “The last time I checked, my mother would even look me in the eye because I got knocked up by a flea bitten mongrel.” The last of her sentence came out as a growl.
The older woman made a sound as she pushed her way into the house. The long straight graying hair was tied back and pale blue eyes glanced at her daughter. “I came to see if Keir is fine.” It didn’t surprise her that the woman in front of her knew about what happened. “And I think you have one more guest.” A slim finger pointed out the door and she looked to see a larger man standing in the door way. She let out a groan.
“Caden you’re oh so wonderful papa is here.” The sarcasm was literally dripping from her words as she called out to Caden.
Caden was down the steps quickly as he stepped between the two. “Hey lets go talk in the other room. I don’t want Nuri watching this.”
Just then Rune walked out of the kitchen with a sandwich on a plate and a black bottle. “Momma Dawn is it okay if I give this…” He stopped when he became aware of the eyes on him, “…… I’ll be with Keir.”
“Dawn, are you taking in unwanted brats.”
“Mother!”
His grip tightened on the plate as he kept walking. The woman sniffed the air and she appeared in front of him. He came to a dead stop his head lowered. “Who are you?”
“That is none of your concern.” He went to walk past her but she stepped back in his way.
“It is when I smell Keir on you.”
Dawn was sweating from how quiet the boy was. Caden had steered his father down the hall and into another room. “Rune…”
Rune looked up with a grin on his face, “Excuse me but I have blood to give to Keir.” His eyes grew dark as he leaned forward. “In more ways than one.” There was a snort from Dawn as the woman’s face went white. He walked past her humming a song. One ear gave a twitch as his tail flicked out behind him. “Oh…” he stopped on the steps, “is it alright if Keir drinks this.”
The dark haired woman moved the hand away from her mouth and nodded, “Yes it’s alright he should be able to.”
A big smile crossed his face, “That’s good.” The small male quickly made his way down the hall to one of the spare rooms that Keir was in.
The older woman unhinged herself and was soon following Rune, Dawn right on her heels. “Hold on he’s still healing and you are not going to make it worse for him.”
“I have every right; he is to take his grandfather’s place. Only a man can take head of the house.”
“Keir’s already told you he doesn’t want anything to do with it and I already talked to father he said Nina will be fine!”
“It is tradition.”
“Fuck tradition!” The older woman turned on Dawn.
“You have no right!”
“No YOU have no right! When Keir was born you wanted nothing to do with him just because his twin was a wolf!”
The two stared at each other and then the older woman was walking down the hall. Her hand reached out and grabbed the handle of the door and opened it. As she walked in she froze. Dawn glanced over her and a big grin spread across her face. Keir currently had his fingers tangled in Rune’s hair and his mouth was feasting on Rune’s. The sounds the small male was making had Dawn giggling like a mad woman.
Rune jerked away at the sound of the audible squeak. He winced as his wound was stretched open. The two glanced at the two women standing in the doorway. A sigh escaped Keir as he moved away from Rune. “Rune your wound has opened.”
The small male pouted as he muttered, “I don’t mind if you took some.”
“No.”
“Fine, starve.” He was off hip lap and walking past Dawn. She sighed as she walked over to Keir. The opened bottle sat on the side table.
“How do you feel?”
“Like my throat is dry.” He looked around Dawn and waved at the shell shocked older woman. “Hello Grandma Daelynn.”
She straitened up and coughed, “Keir, obviously you know why I’m here.”
“Yes and my answer is still the same.” He turned to him mother, “Why can’t I drink that?” His head tipped towards the open bottle.
Before Dawn could answer Daelynn spoke up. “Who is that boy?”
“That is Rune.” He gave a smile. “He’s the reason I’m not leaving. Unless he wants to leave I’m not going to move or go anywhere.”
“Mother will you please leave I need to have a talk with MY son.” They looked at each other and she harrumphed and walked out. The door closed and she gave a laugh, “Okay, whose idea was that?”
“Rune started it.”
“I might have to make him an extra good treat.”
“You do that and he might like you more than me.”
She smiled and then her face went serious, “Keir can you drink the bottled blood.”
“No.”
The woman gave a sigh as she sat on the edge of the bed. “You better get over it. If you don’t except that your body wants only Rune’s blood you’ll stay thirsty till you jump him yourself. So get over it.”
“I was hoping it wouldn’t come to this.” His hands gripped at the covers. “I can still taste him in my mouth and it’s only been a few days.”
“It was the same way for me, only your dad found me on deaths door. He gave me some of his and I found myself unable to drink anything else. It took me forever to realize what was going on.” She smiled and looked at him. “Keir he is the other half of your soul. He is your blood.”
“I was afraid of that.” His head hung as he muttered something. “I feel like I’m going to end up like them.”
“Who?”
“I feel like if I bite him I’m just like those other guys that hurt him.”
“Why don’t you ask him?”
His head shot up as he heard her call out to someone. The door opened and Rune looked in, the stuffed cat was in his arms. “I started to feel sorry… I didn’t mean it…” He sniffed and hid most of his face behind the stuffed cat. “I … I don’t want to lose Keir… you’ve been so nice to me… and… and…” Dawn stood up and moved away as Keir smiled.
“Come here.” The small male whimpered and walked over to him.
She slipped out of the room and closed the door behind her as Keir pulled the small body closer to him. Walking down the stairs she found her mother standing there. “Well?”
“I’m not going to give up.” She turned and walked to the door. “I’ll be back later to ask again.”
“You do that.”
The door closed and she looked up at the ceiling, “Stubborn old woman.” She wondered how things were going with Caden.
Rune was curled up against Keir. A shiver coursed through his body as Keir ran his tongue over the already healing shoulder wound. “I still feel bad about this.”
“Hmmm…” He chuckled at the dazed look on Rune’s face. The jacket was hanging open and hung off of his was bandaged shoulder. Keir buried his nose in Rune’s hair and took a deep breath. Every little thing about Rune made his body react. Damn bastard didn’t have to run him through with a sword. If he didn’t he would have ravaged the small body that was pushed up against him right now.
“Earth calling Rune.”
His eyes blinked and he looked at Keir’s eyes. “Yeah what is it?”
“Are you sure about this?”
A grin spread across that face, “Yes.” His head laid back against Keir’s shoulder. “Because I love you. When I saw what happened…I–I… don’t know what came over me… but I didn’t want to kill him I wanted to make him suffer. The next thing I knew Mitch was pulling me off the guy.” He blinked when he saw the look on Keir’s face. “What is it?”
“Did you…”
His brows drew closer in confusion, “Did I what?”
His face softened and he kissed Rune, “I love you too.” Keir’s mouth moved along his neck, at first it was soft bites. But once he got to his shoulder…
Rune made a sound and Keir stopped. “You okay?”
“Yeah, I’ll be fine. My shoulder is just a little stiff.”
He gasped as Keir turned him. With the small wrist in his hand he slowly unwrapped the bandages. Once they were gone he could see the stitches on his wrist. His fingers ran over it and those arctic blue eyes moved to look at him. “You sliced your wrist open.”
“Yeah I wasn’t thinking… I had just remembered something and then I just reacted. I didn’t want to lose you.” The cat was sitting in his lap; his other hand was gripping at the stuffed toy. “Besides I’d heal fast enough to only be anemic for a few hours at the most. Momma Dawn is going to remove the stitches today or tomorrow.”
He bent his head and ran his tongue over the wound. Rune went red in the face. ‘Ack!’ “C-c-can you not bite into m-my wrist.” His eyes looked at him and he blushed.
“I’m not going to…”
His face went redder as Keir kissed up his arm. His tongue would slip out and lick at his arm. “Um… what are you doing?” The small male had just squeaked when one hand slipped into the open jacket.
“I can’t stop thinking about that kiss. The one you started… I think we should finish it.” His arctic blue met maroon and his mouth closed over Rune’s. Cool fingers ran over his exposed skin causing Rune to gasp out. The soft sounds that the small male made while Keir devoured his mouth where driving him crazy. Rune tossed his arms around Keir’s neck and gasped as those fingers slipped down. They gripped at his hips and moved him till he was flush against Keir.
A cry left him as his hips were ground against Keir’s. “K-Keir!” That mouth nipped at his chin and moved down to his neck. A tongue run up under his neck and Rune shivered. His fingers tangled into Keir’s hair. The grip from Rune’s hands on his hair made him smirk. Tongue and mouth ran down his neck as soft gasps and moans fell from the small male. The jacket was pushed off of the shoulders of that small body.
He could smell the dried blood on his shoulder as he moved further from the injured shoulder. His tongue ran over one of Rune’s nipples and he gave a moan. That tongue kept moving over it as his hand reached up to rub at the other one. The grip on his hair tightened and his body pushed closer. He gave a chuckle as the small male gave a gasping cry. Pulling away both hands moved to tease both nubs as he kissed and swallowed every begging moan and cry. Pulling away he watched as Rune’s head fell back exposing his neck.
Keir’s eyes focused on the slim neck and he had to rip his gaze from it. ‘Not yet…’ His mouth went back to teasing the other nub. Rune pushed his hips against Keir’s. He cried out as Keir gave a groan. That hand moved down to unbutton and unzip his pants. Small hips pushed up as his hand rubbed over the already leaking erection through the cloth. Pulling away he pushed both shorts and underwear down over his hips. “You’re already this wet?”
A whimpering cry came from the small male as Keir rubbed a cool finger over the tip of his weeping cock. Maroon eyes looked down and gave a gasp as he watched as Keir started to rub him. “Nnn… what about… y-you?”
His eyes met Rune’s and he leaned back some. He undid his pants and pulled Rune closer. That small body jerked closer at the feel of their hard erections rubbing together. Keir gave a groan as he gripped and rubbed them together. Rune wrapped his arms around Keir’s shoulders and buried his head in his neck as he cried out from the pleasure. “Feel good…?”
“Yes… please…” Those hips swayed as he stroked both of them closer. He was gasping for breath as Keir tightened his grip on Rune’s hips. “More…” He could smell it as the small male cried out. His body was jerking trying to get more of that good friction. “Please… Keir…!”
He chuckled as he kissed his neck. “Later after my wound heals…”
“But…” The small male gave a cry as Keir’s hand moved faster. His body pressed closer to Keir’s. He wanted to feel everything as he rushed closer. Cool fingers slipped behind the small male and rubbed over the twitching opening. He was shouting as a deft fingers slipped in and quickly found that spot that made the small male give a choked scream. “Oh yes! Keir!”
Dazed maroon eyes looked behind him and he shivered as he watched those fingers push into him. Keir moved his head and ran a tongue over the shoulder wound. He gave a groan as Rune thrust his hips forward. Judging by the gasping pleas the small male was close to losing it. His eyes glanced as the pleasure filled face that Rune was making. Keir opened his mouth. Rune cried out as something sharp clamped onto his shoulder. Then his whole body shook from the overwhelming pleasure he felt right after. His fingers gripped as Keir’s shoulders as he whimpered out, “Close…” He gave a scream as he came and Keir groaned against Rune’s shoulder as he followed after him.
His small body shook and twitched as he licked over the wound. Those maroon eyes were glazed over as he lay slumped against Keir. Pulling his hands away he picked the small body up and moved him. His hand reached over to snag a wash cloth sitting on the bedside table. “Hey, you still here?”
Maroon eyes blinked as he finally gathered his bearings and looked at Keir. A grin spread across his face, “I can’t wait till you’re healed.”
He smiled and kissed him. Rune’s taste was still in his mouth. He had to busy himself cleaning the smaller male up or he’d latch on to the now healed shoulder. At least his wound didn’t hurt every time he moved now. “Tomorrow it will be.”
“Good!” His face buried against the vampire’s side. “I love you.”
“I hope you do.”
“I always will.” He sat up and wrapped his arms around his neck. “So if you’re ever thirsty I’ll give you my blood. Even if I have to use a needle to pull the blood out.”
Keir made a face and Rune frowned. “You really don’t have to go that far.”
“Well who is the one being a chicken shit?”
“Oi!”
“What? You are acting like one!” He stood up to straighten his clothes. Looking over his shoulder he watched as Keir fixed himself. “I’m not afraid of blood anymore… I think. But……” His eyes looked at Keir’s waist and he paled. Keir’s arm shot out to grab the front of the passed out male’s jacket. He pulled on the jacket and ended up with Rune halfway on the bed.
Shaking and small male slightly he called out, “R-Rune!” He looked down and gave a low growl. His wound had to of reopened before he took the bite and now Rune was slumped against the edge of the bed. The small man was still affected by blood… but then again so was he. He gave a mutter and called out, “Mom.”
The door opened a few minutes later and Dawn walked in. He pointed at Rune. She blinked, “What happened?”
“He saw the blood from my wound.”
“So he’s not over it huh?”
“Yeah.”
She sniffed the air and her eyes narrowed as he started to sweat. Those narrowed eyes looked at him as he glanced up at the ceiling. “Keir.” Her voice was very stern at the moment. She gave a grin as her eyebrow twitched, “I said no straining activities till you’re healed.” Walking over she picked up the body that was as tall as her and draped him over her back. “I’m going to put him in your room.” She looked at him and flicked him in the forehead. Wincing he rubbed at his forehead as he gave a frown directed at her back.
He sighed and saw the stuffed cat, “Ah wait!” Dawn stopped and Keir tossed her the cat. “He won’t sleep unless he has something of mine nearby.”
The door closed and he sighed. His arms tucked behind his head as he gave a smirk. That was so worth it. Oh well he should be better soon then he can have all the fun he wanted. He stared up at the ceiling as he wondered what his brother was doing right now.
~~~~
Zev sneezed making Akira give a start. He looked back at Zev. His paint brush was in his hand. “You okay?”
“Yeah just a sneeze.” He grinned at Akira and the brunette shrugged as he went back to painting.
~~~~
Rune yawned as he rolled over. He tossed his arm out and jerked up as his arm flopped on the bed. The spot next to him was cold. He strained his hearing but heard nothing. Sitting up he looked around. The room was empty. “Keir!” There wasn’t a reply. His hand gripped the whistle as he slid off the bed. He was still wearing the jacket and shorts. The stuffed cat was sitting on top of his pillow still. His maroon eye saw the clock and he sighed, it was ten.
Padding over to the closet he pulled a box over. It was one of the many that Kai had brought over telling him that he could finally move in with Keir. Kai had finally found a job and another roommate… most likely a lover. He was glad that Kai was finally happy. Pulling out a shirt he pulled it on after taking the jacket off. Standing up he padded back out into the room.
Well he was up and there was no way he would be sleeping any time soon. He crossed the room and sat in the office chair. Pulling his legs up, he rested his chin on his knees. Keir was most likely asleep. Once he was asleep he was out for most of the night. A smile found its way on his face. He was a deep sleeper that was for sure… but if he called out his name he would wake up. “Keir…”
He jumped when two hands grabbed him. “You okay?”
“Keir!” His chin rested on Rune’s shoulder as his arms wrapped around Rune. “You shouldn’t be up!”
“I’m fine. It looks like a scratch now.”
“You still shouldn’t be up.”
Keir smirked as Rune’s head nodded forward. “Tired?”
“No!” He squeaked as Keir picked him up. “Keir!!!”
“Bed time.”
“Hey!!” They both dropped onto the bed and he shouted in surprise. He rolled over to look at Keir. “Are you okay?” His hands went to push the shirt up. Then he shoved it all the way up as he looked over his stomach. “It’s healed!”
The dark haired male nuzzled against Rune’s neck. “As soon as it healed I made my way over. I guess I can thank your healing ability.”
“Wow…” Rune ran his fingers over his stomach where there was a faint line. “I’m glad.” A smile slipped onto his face. His eyes droop closed as Keir started to run his fingers through his hair. “That’s cheating.”
There was a chuckle from Keir as he looked at Rune. “Get some sleep.”
“Why?”
“I’m going to keep you busy tomorrow.”
“So we’re going somewhere?”
“Yes.”
He hugged Keir and smiled as his face pushed against his chest. “I love you.” His eyes closed and Rune was soon sleeping. Keir smiled and pulled him closer.
“I love you, too.”
^^^^
Rune ran down the steps two at a time as Keir followed after him at a more leisure pace. It had been two weeks since Akira and Zev left. He grinned as he jumped the rest and looked back to see Keir still walking. “Come on, Keir!”
“I’m coming. I’m coming.”
“You’re too slow!”
Oh how he could tease Rune for saying that. The small male was jumping shouting at him to hurry up. “Come on I have to be there quick or Silver will be pissed and then Arius will have to calm him down…” Keir smirked as he got to the bottom of the step. “You’re making fun of me aren’t you!?”
“No.”
He stared at him and then he scowled, “Stop making fun of me!”
“I’m not.” The dark haired male pulled him closer as they started walking for the door.
“Where is he!?”
They stopped and looked down the hall. “I don’t know if I could tell you even then I wouldn’t.”
Rune glanced at him, “What’s going on?”
“Sounds like father and…” The door slammed open and Keir stiffened at the sight of the larger man. Sharp blue eyes looked at Keir and kept walking. The dark blond hair on the man was starting to become paler. He stopped and glanced at the small male who stood looking up at him.
The man was a couple inches taller than Keir. When he spoke he looked directly at Keir, his voice was low rumble. “I don’t suppose you know where your brother is?”
“I don’t.”
“Um… sir…” He squeaked when those eyes looked at him. “I-is this about Akira?”
“So that’s his name.”
Keir watched as those maroon eye narrowed and he squared his shoulders. “Akira is finally happy I won’t let you fuck it up!” He was yanked back as Keir stepped in front of him. The two stared at each other. Finally the man turned breaking eye contact.
“I’m only worried about what will happen to Zev after he’s done.”
Rune gripped the back of Keir’s shirt as his tail bristled slightly. “Akira is not like that. He frowns down on that. If Akira didn’t care about Zev that way he would have told him up front! So stop making it sound like he’s just using Zev!”
“Rune.” His maroon eyes looked at Keir. “Relax. He just doesn’t want a repeat of what happened before.”
“What happened?”
The vampire smiled, “Let’s just say Zev went on a long trip and leave it at that.” He sighed and nodded and then glared at the older man.
“Don’t you hurt Akira!” The small male was bristling as the man walked away from them.
He looked at Rune, “Hey, don’t you have to get somewhere?”
“Ah! I’m late!” The dark haired male stumbled as Rune tugged him along. “We have to leave now!”
