style='mso-tab-count:1'>         Rachel saw Danny ordering his men to
close the door.

“No one gets in
and no one gets out.” He said. “Did you see who attacked you?” he asked the
man.

lang=EN-US>“No, sir. He attacked my back.”

“I don’t think
it was a he. Am I right Rachel?” he asked aloud.

“You are so
smart Daniel.” She said.

“Now you talk to
me. Why didn’t you turn yourself in?”

“Do you think
I’m stupid Danny? Like you want to arrest me.” She
snickered.

lang=EN-US>“Of course not. But we could have
ended this earlier. Don’t you agree?” he asked, his eyes searching everywhere.

“Not really. You
see I want to live.”

“Of course you
do. We all want that. But sometimes it’s just not meant to be.”

lang=EN-US>“Like you know anything about that.”
She pressured.

“I know my niece
wanted to live. She had her life ahead of her and that pathetic doctor killed
her.” Danny said furiously.

lang=EN-US>“Happens to the best of us Danny. My
parents surely wanted to see me grow up and the chance was taken from them.”

“This
conversation is making me sick. Let’s get this over with.” He said and grabbed
a machine gun from one of his man.

style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Rachel signaled Gabriel to lay
on the floor and cover his head. However the shots fired by Danny went all to
the lower floor.

“Did I hit you?”
he asked.

lang=EN-US>“Nope, sorry. Nice try though.”
Rachel announced.

style='mso-spacerun:yes'> At the same time she signaled Gabriel to crawl
towards a big box next to the window.

style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Downstairs Danny was grabbing another machine
gun and now seemed prepared to fire at the upper section. This time there was
no warning, he just pulled the trigger and covered the
aluminum rail with holes.

“Surely I didn’t
miss this time.”

“Guess again,
cop boy.” She said using the nickname Roger used.

style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Danny threw the machine gun to the floor hard
and took a deep breath.

“You want this
over in the hard way don’t you? Well I can play that game.” He said while at
the same time signaling one of his men to climb upstairs by using the sliding
tube.

style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Rachel was expecting something like that so
she took the Glock from her back and waited for the
man to climb enough so she had a clear view of him. She was now by the side of
the big box and it wasn’t long before the man appeared. It only took one shot
and he was going down again, hitting the ground hard.

“How many men do
you have, because I have to count my bullets?” She played.

style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Beside her Gabriel was not finding any of this
amusing.

“Funny isn’t it?
Well you won’t have the upper hand forever. Fill this place with holes boys.”
He said and the moment he finished the sentence the barn was filled with the
sound of gunshots and breaking wood.

style='mso-spacerun:yes'> A couple of bullets passed by near them and a
few got lodged in the box, but the worst was when several broke the window
beside them. A shard of glass cut Rachel’s arm but it was a small gash. Finally
the bullets ended and before the boys could reload Danny spoke.

“Don’t waste
them, boys. If we didn’t get them this time we’ll never get them.”

“You have no
idea how happy that makes me feel.” Rachel declared loudly.

“Don’t you ever
die?” Danny asked infuriated.

“Guess Lady Luck
is by my side today.”

“Well your luck
is about to change.” He stated while taking a grenade from one of his man.
“We’ll finish this off with a bang.”

“Why don’t we class=GramE>pause this killing attempts and talk for a second?” Rachel
proposed to buy time so she could think of what to do next.

“What do you
want to talk about?”

“Well what about
why?”

lang=EN-US>“Why what? Why I want to kill you and
the doctor? Why I hired you to kill those two CEO’s? Which one is it?”

style='mso-spacerun:yes'> When he mentioned the two CEO’s Rachel
flinched. Beside her Gabriel was staring.

“What’s he
talking about?” he whispered.

“He paid me a
couple of millions to kill two people. I told you murder was a part of my
past.”

lang=EN-US>“Yeah, but double?”

“Actually there
are more. But this is not the place and especially not the time.”

“Rachel, you
didn’t answer my question.” Danny said.

“Why don’t you
explain both?” she suggested.

“Ok. The doctor
I want to kill because he killed my niece; I want to kill you because you
betrayed me and I don’t like it when people betray me and the CEO’s, well those
were just for the fun of it. Oh and because this guy with lots of cash hired me
to do it. But I preferred to leave the dirty work to my wonderful and talented
girlfriend. You had the skill and I had something to give you. It worked
wonderfully both ways. Don’t you agree?”

“Yeah, great
deal.”

“Right, now can
we end this?”

“Sure.” She said
and threw a grenade at the farthest wall, causing an explosion, which hit three
of Danny’s men, including Robert, and hit Danny himself. He was thrown to the
floor and stayed there for a few moments, unconscious.

“Gabriel, I want
you to leave now.” Rachel said quickly.

“Wait a second.
I’m not going anywhere until I get something out of my chest.”

“Ok, but make it
quick.”

“Rachel I love
you and no murder, kidnapping or anything else you did is going to change that.
I really, really love you.”

“Gabriel, I…” he
stopped her by putting his fingers on her lips.

“You don’t have
to say anything. Now I want to give you this so you don’t forget about me
because I’m sure I won’t forget you.” He said softly and removed the chain
hanging from his neck, which contained the ring.

“I can’t accept
your ‘little Laura charm’.” She said nearly crying.

“Yes you can and
you will.” He said putting it around her neck.

style='mso-spacerun:yes'> A tear fell from her eye and he cleaned it
with his hand.

“I won’t forget
you Gabriel. No matter what.”

“I believe you.”

style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Their forehead touched and they sighed. The
end was near and they both knew it.

style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Below Danny stirred and tried to get up. One
of the men who wasn’t directly hit by the explosion
helped him get up.

“This isn’t over
yet, my dear.” Danny said with an incredible effort.

style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Rachel and Gabriel separated and she grabbed
another grenade. This time it was to finish everything. She removed the safety
pin of the grenade and sent it down the tube. Gabriel was practically in shock
but her deep kiss brought him back. However the kiss was followed by a rather
hard push, which caused him to fly through the broken window. Suddenly it
seemed time had slowed down and he was almost flying. He heard some shots but
they were so far away he hardly took notice of them. When he was getting used
to flying in slow-motion time resumed it’s natural
course and his back crashed against the stack of hay, which apparently was not
as big as he expected. The last thing he witnessed before he blacked out was
another explosion. Then total darkness and absolute silence followed.lang=EN-US style='font-size:18.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%'>
