Chapter five:
Akari smiled weakly at her friend Yohei as he pulled up a chair and sat down next to her. “Thank you...” she told her friend softly. She could barely open her eyes wide enough to see the silent tears on his face. Just keeping them open was a lot of work for her, but it was a small price to pay for being alive. She was very thankful for the young doctor who put everything he had into saving her the night before.
“There isn't any need for you to thank me Akari. I am so glad that you are alive. They told me that they found poison in your--” “I know,” she cut him off. “That is why I need you to do me a favor Yohei.” “Anything. Just ask Akari, and I will be more than willing to see it through,” Yohei told her as he held her hand. “This is what I want you to do for me Yohei,” and she weakly told him what she wanted. “If that is what you want, I will see to it right away when I return to my office,” Yohei told her right after she finished. “Thank you,” she whispered. “My uncle and my brother have you--" "I tried to contact your uncle but I couldn't get through to him. The same for your brother," he told her. Akari couldn’t help but be worried on hearing this. It was not like her uncle to ignore his phone and the same was true for Seiya. She gently closed her eyes an drew in her breath. "God please don't take the two most important people from me. They are all I have left now. Please don't punish me further for what I did five years ago," she prayed silently as tears rolled down her cheeks. She opened her eyes and looked at her friend. “Don't worry Akari. I’m sure they both are alright. I'll try to call them both again and I won't give up until I finely get through to them,” he told her with determination in his voice. Akari forced a smile on her face and thanked Yohei. No longer able to keep her eyes open, she closed them for some needed rest. Yohei pulled the thin blanket over her sleeping form and stood up to leave. “I'll see you tomorrow,” he promised her and left quietly, closing the door as he stepped out of her room. He stared down and cried in joy that his Akari had pulled through. He took a deep breath and walked away from the door. “Now let’s see, where is that doctor?” He needed to find the doctor who had saved Akari’s life and ask for his cooperation. ------------“He is still not answering his phone Taiga.” “Maybe he turned it off Takashi,” Taiga commented and sipped his black coffee. “Do you really think so Taiga? This is Seiya we are talking about. He would never not answer our call. Something must have happened to him or else he would have answered his phone already.” With a sigh, Takashi again tried to call his brother to let him know what had happened to Akari. “Still not answering?” Taiga asked his brother a second later as he drank the rest of his coffee. “I don't like this Taiga. I am going to get one of our dad’s men to look into it." “I think you are overreacting Takashi. There could be many reasons why he isn't answering his phone. For example, his cell phone’s battery ran out or he left it at work or some restaurant. Maybe his phone is broken and he is buying a new one as we speak. But go right ahead and ask Dad for help if it will ease your mind my dear older brother,” Taiga said. “I have to get back to work,” he announced and tossed the empty coffee can into the recycling bin beside him. “Taiga has anyone ever told you before that you are a workaholic?” “I just love my work brother. Work keeps me from being lonely,” Taiga replied with a laugh and then started walking away from his brother. “Say hi to your wife and to Mom for me Takashi,” he called out as he walked farther and farther away. “If you are lonely, get yourself a wife,” Takashi shouted to his brother. He shook his head and sighed, then he turned and walked towards the hospital exit. He got into his car and drove out of the hospital parking. He turned left, heading to see his stepfather. ------
Taiga was on his way to check on his patient when he heard someone call out to him. He turned around to see the man who had brought Akari in last night. “Doctor Wataru, may I have a moment of your time? It is very important.” “I have to check up on a patient right now. I will only be there for a moment if you don't mind waiting for me in the cafeteria on the lower level,” he told the man. “I don't mind. I'll wait for you Doctor Wataru.” “Then I'll see you in a bit,” Taiga smiled and he continued on his way while Yohei headed to wait for him in the cafeteria. ---------
“Where the hell have you been?” Keigo demanded the minute his brother walked into his office. “You should have been at work two hours ago.” “I am not in the mood to get yelled at right now Keigo. I just had a terrible night. The bitch I was with cleaned out my wallet while I was sleeping.” “While you were busy fucking that bitch, your wife passed away in the hospital. last night. A Doctor Wataru just gave me a call two hours ago.” Keigo snapped at his brother. “What, that bitch is dead already? What a relief,” Yuto said happily, and this somehow seemed to piss Keigo off. He got up, stalked over to his brother and punched him hard in the face. "I know you don't love her Yuto, but to sound this happy over her death is something I won't tolerate. She is Sena’s sister.” “Fuck you Keigo. I only married her because you asked me to. Shouldn't you be happy? Now that she is dead, everything she owned plus her money is now ours.” “Yuto,” Keigo sighed and took a deep breath as he paced back and forth in front of his brother with both hands on his hips. "I will tell you my true reason for wanting you to marry Akari.” He looked at his brother intently. “Sena.” "What! Are you fucking nuts? You are standing here telling me that the true reason why you asked me to marry that bitch was because of him and that it had nothing to do with wanting her money?” “Yes Yuto, exactly.” Keigo told his brother. “I wanted to know how Sena was doing without me, and the only way to find out was through Akari. I also wanted to get you back for siding with Father and forcing me into a marriage I didn't want. I wanted you to see what it was like to marry someone you had no feelings for,” he confessed to Yuto. “Then you must be very sad to see things go this far Keigo. It serves you right that things turned out this way." Yuto walked up to his brother. "I am free now but you, you are still stuck in a loveless marriage Brother, and it is more than you deserve for ruining my life." Yuto spun around and stormed out of the room. --------------- “What do you think they are going to do to us?” Seiya asked, sitting crosslegged on the cold floor with his back against the wall. “Don't know boy,” Kyouya answered, all stretched out comfortably on the small mattress with his arms behind his head, his eyes staring up at the rusty ceiling. “Well, do you think they are going to let us go?” Seiya asked Kyouya, looking right at him. “Frankly, I don't see them letting us go boy. The only way we are getting out of here is in a body bag heading to Tokyo Bay,” Kyouya replied, deciding to be honest for once with the boy as he looked at his watch for the third time that day. “Really, then it has nice knowing you Kyouya. Let's not meet in our next life," remarked Seiya with a cynical smile. “And it has been nice knowing you too Seiya Wataru,” Kyouya returned with a cynical smile of his own and got off the mattress. "Where do you think you’re going?" Seiya asked, looking up at Kyouya. “To the the toilet,” replied Kyouya. “Care to join me boy? I don't mind your company.” “Over my dead body!” retorted Seiya, and he threw his shoe at Kyouya. Kyouya let out a deep chuckle and disappeared into the small bathroom to do his business. "Bastard," Seiya muttered as he walked to grab his shoe. Just as he bent down to pick it up, the door to the cabin opened and the two men from the day before stepped inside with their pistols aiming at him. They had a bag with them. “Don't move boy or we will shoot, and we don't really want to kill you yet boy.” Seiya raised both his hands in the air and didn't dare to move. He watched as one of them walked up and put the bag down in front of him then walked back to his partner. "There is food and water in the bag for you and the other guy. Tomorrow we will return with another bag," they told him and then they backed out of the cabin slowly before shutting the door and locking it once more from the other side. Seiya immediately opened the bag and breathed in the delicious smell of pork cutlets and deep fried shrimp. His hungry stomach started to rumble in joy as well. He sat down and pulled the food and the bottle of fresh water out of the bag. “Itadakimasu,” he said and started eating. “Something smells good,” said Kyouya as he walked out of the small bathroom. “And you’re not having any of it,” Seiya told Kyouya as he ate the food that was brought to them just minute ago. “ Be reasonable boy,” said Kyouya as he sat down on the floor, crossed his legs and made a reach for his share. Seiya smacked his hand away and glared. “Correct me if I am wrong jerk face. Wasn't it you who hogged the whole mattress to yourself, leaving me to sleep on the cold floor with my jacket as a pillow?” Seiya bit into the deep fried shrimp in his bowl while keeping his eye on Kyouya. “Because of that you are going to let me starve boy?” “An eye for an eye. You hogged all the space on the mattress, I'll hog all the food. I say that it’s pretty fair jerk face,” Seiya then started to eat his delicious food again. “You really are a brat,” Kyouya said and snatched the bottle of water from the boy and drank it. Seiya grinned. “Well thank you for the compliment,” he said and he continued to eat his food in front of Kyouya. “Once we get out of here, I'll tell Akari about all of this,” Kyouya said with a smirk. He knew very well that by using Akari’s name, the boy will become more easy to deal with. Just as he expected, the boy reacted the way he wanted. “Damn you asshole!” Seiya said as he unwillingly handed the bag of food to Kyouya. “If you dare mention any of this incident to her when we get out of here, I'll--” “You will do what boy, kill me? I doubt it because after all, I am her uncle and you for some reason don't want her to be upset. So don't waste your breath threatening me when you have no intention of following through with it boy,” Seiya glared murderously at Kyouya. “You are right. If you weren't Akari’s uncle, my fist would be in your face right now asshole.” Seiya turned around to eat his food facing the wall. He wasn't sure he could swallow his food without wanting to throw it in the man’s face. They both had just finished their food when the door opened once more and the same men from earlier walked in with their pistols and ordered Seiya to get up and come with one them. The man ordered his partner to watch Kyouya as he left with Seiya. Kyouya decided that now was finally the right time to act.. He pressed the hidden device on his watch to allow his men to track him. He calmly lay down and softly whistled to himself as he waited for his men .Hopefully the boy would still be alive when his men got there. -----------
Seiya, not wanting to die just yet, followed the man with the gun silently as he wondered where he was taking him. He was surprised to find another small cottage not too far from the one they were keeping him and Kyouya in. "The man wanted to see you before we killed you." So he was finally going to see who the person was behind his kidnapping. Why was he not feeling very happy about it? Perhaps it was because he knew that these men planned to kill him right after his little meeting with whoever was inside that cottage. “We brought him,” the man announced and pushed him in, locking the door right behind him to prevent him from escaping. “You!” Seiya said when he saw the person standing in front of him. “You bastard! What are you trying to do by having me killed Yuto?” he asked the man in front of him. Yuto smirked and walked slowly towards Seiya. “Tell me first, are you really Sena?” “That’s a stupid question. If I am not Sena, then who am I Yuto?” Seiya snorted. “Then you must remember what I did to you five years ago Sena. That night when Keigo left for his part time work?” Seiya’s curiosity was piqued. He crossed his arms and smiled. “Sorry, I don't remember what happened that night. Whatever you did to me, I must have forgotten." He gave his reply cooly. “How could you forget? I made sure that you would always remember what I did to you Sena because I wanted to imprint myself into your whole being.” “It can't be helped Yuto,” Seiya commented with a smirk. "I didn't even remember your face or that we had met before until now." “Then I'll make you remember.” To Seiya’s surprise, Yuto stalked toward him and pushed him down hard against the wooden floor and started to go for his clothes. "I confessed to you at school but you turned me down and dated my brother, forced me to rape you. Do you have any idea how I felt when I saw you in his bed? It’s not fair I saw you fir--” Seiya didn't let Yuto finish, he lost it at the word rape. He raised his fist up and slammed it hard below Yuto’s chin. “Get the fuck off of me you sick bastard!” he raised himself up and shoved Yuto off. He stood up and kicked Yuto really hard in the chest and stomach then he went for the face. When he was done kicking, he started stomping on Yuto’s back. “Die you sick bastard!” He was so caught up in his rage that he didn't hear the door open until he felt a blow to his head which knocked him cold. “Fuck!” he thought as he fell and lost consciousness. “Who the fuck are you guys?” Yuto gasped out as he stared up at a group of five men in black suits. "Pick him up boys," Kyouya ordered as he entered the cottage. His men thought that he meant Yuto, and he frowned. “Not him, the boy you idiots!” he barked at them. “Sorry Boss," they apologized to him. "What about him?" they asked Kyouya. “Let him rot for all I care.” “You can't leave me here!” Yuto screamed out as Kyouya and his men walked out of the cottage. “Give me one good reason why I shouldn't?” Kyouya said with a cruel smirk in a cold voice. “Because I am Akari’s husband,” Yuto replied. “I asked you to give me a good reason, and you couldn't even give me one. How disappointing,” Kyouya said, and without a backward glance, he and his men left Yuto alone. They of course ignored his pleas. “I won't let you have him. If I can't have him, no one else can! I-- “Yuto screamed out and then fainted from the injuries he received from Seiya. Kyouya wondered what that was all about as he got into the car and drove away from his one day prison. He glanced down at the sleeping boy near him with a smile. ----------
Keigo drew in a deep breath and tossed his pen on to the desk. His earlier conversation with his brother returned. He opened his drawer and took out a small blue box with a lock. The box was sent to him three weeks after his wedding. And it belonged to Sena. Sena had sent the box to him but had forgotten to send the key along with it. He contemplated many times about breaking the lock, but he could never do it. So he left it as it was until now, not knowing what was inside the box. The phone on his desk rang and with another sigh, he answered it and was surprised to hear his brother’s voice. “Yuto what’s wrong?” he asked, hearing the pain in his brother’s voice. “Keigo, help me or I am going to die out here! That bastard left me to die.” “First, where are you?” he asked. His brother quickly told him and he wrote it down and hung up. “Yuto what kind of trouble have you gotten yourself into?” he asked as he raced out of his office and out to the parking lot where he got into his car and followed the directions his brother had given to him. --------------
“Akari?” Akari opened her eyes at the sound of her friend’s voice. She smiled at him. “Yohei.” “I got through to your uncle Akari. I just spoke to him an hour ago. He said that he is on his way back home and wanted you to not worry about your brother because he's with him,” Yohei told her. “You have no idea how happy that makes me feel Yohei,” she told him. “Did you tell my uncle about my plan?” she asked. “I did and he agreed. He asked me to write up a very weird contract for him and to send it to him as soon as possible,” Yohei replied. “Weird? What do you mean?” she asked. “I only asked him to protect Seiya because I know that his life will be in danger once my will is read on the day of my fake funeral.” “Weird as in...” Yohei whispered to her and Akari smiled. “What do you expect? My uncle - he swings that way, and I knew from the moment he saw Seiya, that he would be interested in him.” “Do you really find nothing wrong with it Akari?” Akari smiled. “Trust me on this Yohei, my woman’s intuition is never wrong and I need to do this in order for me to go on living. I owe Sena so much. This is the least I can do to erase my sin. Sena might have forgiven me but I haven't forgiven myself for it. If I can make Seiya happy after all this ends, I will die happy.” “Akari, what are you talking about?” Yohei asked her. “I'll tell you everything when the time comes,” she told him and stared off into the distance. “Seiya if you knew the truth you would hate me.” -------------
“Why the hell did you bring me here? I want to go home. Take me home this instant you asshole!” “I will, as soon as you tell me why you killed Akari.” Kyouya poured himself a whiskey and sat down at his desk. “W-what? What do you mean by that?” Seiya demanded as he stormed toward the relaxing man. “Her lawyer called me an hour ago and informed me that she had passed away last night in the hospital. Now tell me boy, was it a coincidence that she died and we got kidnapped? Come clean with me boy. You staged the whole thing so that you could get your hands on her money.” Kyouya sipped his whiskey and waited for the boy to burst. He didn't have to wait long. “Akari is not dead you son of a bitch! It is not even funny to joke about such things, you asshole!” Seiya shouted as mixed feelings of sadness and rage filled him. He was unwilling to believe what he had just heard. “But it is true boy and you are my number one suspect in her death.” Kyouya said as the secretary walked in and gave him the important paper he had been waiting for. He took the paper and waved his secretary out. “Now that Akari is dead boy, your fate is in my hands. You and your family will pay dearly for what you did to my niece.” “Fuck you, you son of a bitch! I didn't kill her! I didn't kill Akari. I love her like my own sister. Oh God, Sena… Sena!” Seiya could no longer control himself and he burst into tears. “Fuck why? Why? Sena… Oh God Sena, I broke my promise to you!” he cried as he went to his knees and buried his face in his hands. Kyouya’s face remained cold. He tossed the paper that his secretary brought in to the floor in front of Seiya. “Sign that and I will leave your family out of this,” he said coldly. Seiya wiped his tears and snatched the damn paper. He read it with blurry eyes. It was a contract. “I Seiya Wataru hereby agree to be Kyouya Choushiro’s lover for two years…” He couldn’t read the rest as his blood started boiling with a mixture of rage and anger, and sadness from learning about Akari’s death. “What the hell is this?” he yelled at the man in front of him as he stormed up to the man like a lunatic on a rampage, waving the damn paper in his hand. “If you don't want to go to prison for fraud and murder, I suggest that you sign it boy,” said Kyouya in an icy tone. “You son of a bitch! You’re blackmailing me!” “Call it whatever you want boy, but you are the one who got yourself into this situation. I warned you before but you chose to ignore my warning and to continue with your game of deception. This is a small price to pay don't you think?” Kyouya said with a cold smirk. “I suggest you be a good boy and sign it. Of course it doesn’t matter to me what your decision is boy, because either way, I win and you lose.” “I refuse to sign something this absurd. Why the hell would I want to be your lover for two years when I hardly know you? The same goes to you, what do you get out of this by forcing me to sign this stupid contract?” Seiya ranted. “Sign it boy. You know you have no choice.” “Yes I do, I would rather rot in prison than lower myself to that level, you son of a bitch.” “Think carefully boy. If you are in prison, how are you going to prove your innocence to me?” “I don't need to prove anything to you asshole! You already had your mind made up the moment we met,” Seiya snapped as he continued to wipe away the tears that were still running down his cheek. “Are you telling me that you are going to let the real murderer get away boy?” Kyouya knew he got the boy when the boy grew silent. “Hell no!” There was no way he was going to let the bastard who killed Akari get away with it. He was unable to keep his promise to Sena to look after Akari. The only way left for him to redeem himself was to find Akari’s killer and make him pay, even if he had to sacrifice himself. He glanced up at Kyouya with teary red eyes and snatched the pen on the desk. He quickly scribbled his name on the contract. Kyouya reached for a tissue and handed it to the boy. “Your nose is dripping boy.” “Fuck you asshole!” Seiya snapped and he stormed out of Kyouya’s study. Kyouya picked up his phone and punched in a few numbers. He waited for the other end to pick up. “Hello?” “Yohei, tell Akari for me that I will take good care of the boy for her.” Kyouya hung up. His secretary entered. “Boss, we did as you ordered.” Kyouya got out of his seat and slipped his jacket on. Anyone who messed with his family would pay, and the two of them would pay with their lives, but first he would give them a taste of their own medicine. With a cruel smile on his face, Kyouya left his office.
